5.5 inDesign crashes on startup after upgrading to a new iMac

Any ideas why InDesign 5.5 crashes at startup after updrading to a new iMac? I am able to open and work in Photoshop and Illustrator without problems. Thanks for the help.

Here is the crash report: http://pastebin.com/FfiRHZ35

In addition to needint updated 7.5.3 the accident seems to be SINGING (see Deletion of SINGING), but most importantly, it is don't have yo tried to migrate programs? This doesn't; t work, so if you have done so, edition and reinstall it from the original installers, then run the updates.

  • Adobe first Pro CC crashes on startup after upgrading to new computer screens

Hey everyone, I'm tech-savvy so go ahead and throw detailed responses to me. I've recently updated for Windows 8.1 because first Pro CC (version 7.2.1) crashed at startup of Windows 8. After the update to Win8.1, it worked fine with my old 19-inch full-screen VGA monitors. However, after I installed the new HD widescreen monitors yesterday, I opened the first Pro and it starts very well and is stable until he treats a video file. If I'm fast enough, it will correctly import a file from the media browser, but as soon as it 'deals' video in the browser media or video in the timeline, Windows gives me the error "Adobe Premiere Pro CC has encountered an error and must be shut down". I tried all the tricks in the book, especially to change the refresh rate of the monitor down from 144 Hz to 60 Hz, tried to use an HDMI instead of DVI - D cable and tried to reinstall Premiere Pro (restart the computer to the appropriate in the process places) and tried to adjust to return with no acceleration GPU (only the mercury software). Nothing seems to work. Here are the specs of my computer:
CPU: AMD FX-8120, GPU: 1 GB GDDR3 Dual AMD Radeon HD 6670 each in its own monitor output via DVI - D Dual Link, the monitors are ASUS VG248QE 24 "resolution 1920 x 1080 p @ 144 Hz, 7200 RPM Western Digital HARD drive running.

    TRY:

    Disable a video card driver.

Set up 2 monitors of the same card.

Its a starting point for troubleshooting I.

You have unchecked 'automatically hide and show the menu bar' in the general tab of the preferences system El Capitan.

  • A6745f crashes on startup after upgrade memory.

Try to improve this machine with 16 GB of memory. A row of 2 x 4 GB sticks work great, but when I try to put in the last 8 gb, it freezes just after the display of the memory on the opening screen. It records all the 16 GB is there, said then "press F10 for bios' and hard locks. I have to pull the plug.

I swapped the sticks around without problem. The MB watch news that he supports this quantity of memory in a 64-bit environment.

Hello Kilroy14, I checked the specifications of your system, which can be found here , and it does not show the system supports up to 16 GB of memory system.

I also found the Crucial or Kingston memory did not 4 GB memeory modules listed for your system.

Another provider of memory has indicated that some Kingston memory would be only recognized as a total of 8 GB even though there were 4 x 4 GB modules installed.

It is not, as you suggest, this model can not supported 4 GB modules when installed in all memory slots.

V.8 InDesign crashes on startup and loading, after which works all fine, except the Panel who are slow like crazy. Replacement by default/history, has no effect.

Is there any help for this issue or it's political Adobe to care not at all?

CS6 is not supported because there is no financial sense to spend money trying to 'fix' an old program to run on a new hardware/OS with (no guarantee of success), or a willingness of users to pay for repairs when new versions are already in operation. There is no reason why you can't continue working in CS6 - do - if you don't need the features that have been added since then. You just need to run it on a compatible hardware.

  • InDesign crashes at startup (Mac OS 10.7.2)

Hello all and thanks in advance for your support.

I spear have InDesign CS5 on a 27 "iMac running Mac OS Lion 10.7.2, and as I have done some maintenance with MainMenu Pro tasks, InDesign crashes at startup.

Here is the report of accident

I have the Italian version. It keeps crashing on the 'Running dei servizi di d' part, which I think could be something like "Boot Services" - this is the script immediately after the 'Windows '.

After a search for every problem of crash in the forums, I tried:

-CS5 uninstalling/reinstalling with the cleaning of Adobe tool

    -Remove preferences in ~/Library/Preferences

    -Remove preferences in ~/Library/Application Support/InDesign

    Rename/move the folder SING

Of course, none of them worked.

What can I do, other than to cry like a baby? I really need help with this, I'm a graphic designer good blood!

Yes, Eugene is correct, it is plugin self-activation of Extensis Suitcase Fusion. You will find that it is easier to remove the plugin self-activation (ExtensisFontManagementIDCS5) in the InDesign Plugins folder; many seem to have trouble finding ways to do this in the user interface.

I lost track of whether there is a fix to Extensis for this, or if return to a another version works, etc. Do a search, it came frequently; also contact Extensis, which has free support.

  • InDesign CS4 crashes on startup after the migration to the new iMac

    Hello

I recently used Migration Assistant to move the contents of my old iMac running OS X 10.5.8 to my new iMac running OS X 10.7.3.  Unfortunately, whenever I try to launch InDesign CS4, it crashes without giving me an error message. I already could not start Illustrator CS4 on this new iMac and I received this error message:

    "Fatal error - missing component Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe Version Cue CS4/customer 4.0.0/VersionCue.framework.

and I was able to transfer the file Client 4.0.0 on my new iMac and Illustrator CS4 please stand up and running.

What can I do to get InDesign running on my new iMac?

You will not be able to download Adobe's CS4. They have downloads of the current version.

Are you sure? (I'm confused about this and my Adobe Downloads aren't the consumer normal ones so I can't easily check, but I have a number of reasons to be skeptical... certainly old volume licensees can continue to (re) - download old versions.)

  • 5.5 inDesign crashes at startup in Mountain Lion

After you migrate my files from my old MacPro (OS 10.7.5) to my new iMac (OS 10.8.2), I noticed that InDesign 5.5 crashes at startup. I've read some of the messages in this forum and elsewhere, but can't seem to find a solution.

Is there a solution to this problem? Any help would be appreciated.

The solution is to uninstall the adobe software and reinstall it from the original disks, run the cleaning inbetween tool. Software Adobe doesn't do well with a migration.
