550-153no Pavilion: four screens on a HP Pavilion 550-153no

I just bought a HP Pavilion 153no 550, and I want to connect four screens. (Not necessary for the use of heavy graphics, just for business applications).

Can I remove the supplied AMD Radeon R5 330 and install a cheap graphics card which can drive two screens? For example, the edge AMD Radeon R7 will continue to work and be capable of driving two screens, despite the withdrawal of the AMD Radeon R5 330 and her feeling that there is an another graphics card installed?

Or do I have to install a graphics card that can drive four monitors? I think the AMD over-pants W4100. There is need for power is "less than 50 W", like the AMD Radeon R5 330, which should be possible without having to upgrade the power supply?

Hey there @RenniePet,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! It's a good place to find the help you need, other users, the HP experts and other members of the support staff. I understand that you want to connect 4 screens on your computer and I am happy to help you with this.

Looking desktop HP Pavilion 550 - 153no product specifications, in the section on the integrated graphics card, it says "integrated graphics card does not work if a graphics card is installed.

So no, the integrated graphics card will not work with another installed graphics card. So if you try to use four screens, you will need to put in a graphics card that provides for this. The jury has only available following expansion slots:

A PCI Express x 16 (Gen 3.0)

  • Photoshop with three screens

It occurred to me that having updated my video card for my Cintiq companion, I can now fix four screens and monitors cost so little (unless your name is Dag pit ) I might add a third screen.  But what I would do with it?  Someone uses more than two screens outside the game?  I'm pretty happy with my current workspace to be honest, and even though I have a full subscription, I have to admit that Photoshop is 95% of my use of the CC. Currently, I have a screen 24 inch 1920 x 1200 in portrait mode on the right side of my main screen, which is 1920 x 1200 also, but 30 inches (Dell Ultrasharp).  I'm looking at an HP ZR2440, which is IPS 1920 x 1200 and has a rotating support if I could use it in portrait mode on the left.  It costs NZ$ 250 because we have to pay more for everything here :-(

There are times where I have to move the PS to the basics, just to see another application on the second screen, and sometimes juggling three apps and three locations of files at the same time, (untangle metadata about audio books and loading them to iTunes) and a third of the screen would be useful for this.  One thing, it would be certainly good is Premiere Pro and After Effects, but that advantage is partially cancelled by the fact that I would use the two external displays in portrait mode.

So if someone uses more than two screens in a mainly implemented image editing, I would be grateful for ideas.  Ideas for workspace etc.

    Thanks for sharing.

    I'm right-handed.

It's a question of habits, of course. Given that I had a second monitor (20 years ago I think) I had left it positioned to my main screen. Of course it has become second nature for me to work like that now...

Window > arrange > new window for... work too well sure but you should configure for each open image. However, the browser is part of the workspace and shows the real picture as you work on automatically. In fact, it was my main reason to buy a third screen.

I'm a big fan of stocks. I don't use all of them all the time of course...

    My favorite actions are:

F2 to see fit to the screen

    F3 to display 100%

    F4 to view print size

F9 Fade (especially useful after using the Healing Brush tool, etc.).

    F11 new background

    Fill the conscious content

Place Guides (vertical and horizontal centered)

    and many others...

The sight made on-screen, I also added the event handler of Scripts for each image I open automatically shows full-screen.

I must admit that I do not use the Styles Panel as much lately, but as I have a lot of real estate (it's a monitor 24 inches) I leave here. On second thoughts it is perhaps better to replace it with the libraries Panel which I use more often lately... But I'm a creature of habit that he will be uncomfortable for a while...

Overall I am very happy with my third screen and I would definitely recommend it if you have the room.

  • macOS Sierra with three external displays on a MBPr

In the last three versions of Mac OS x, I was able to connect two monitors to separate ports thunderbolt and a third monitor to the HDMI (last MBPr) port using all four screens (the retina display is the 4th).  After the installation of Sierra this hardware configuration blocks the computer (complete gel to the top, have the power with the power button on the keyboard).

Any thoughts on how to fix cela or seems to be just a bug in the first version of Mac OS?

  • dc7900 sff: Quadro nvs 290 in dc7900

    Hello

in my dc7900 SFF and I don't have a chance.

I followed these instructions without result.

"When a PCIeX16 graphics card is installed in the PCI onboard VGA connector black
"and display ports will be disabled automatically."

What was happening is not with me. When I have a pci-e card in the dark crack in the system
stills boots in VGA. It's like the pci-e slots are not there.

"To solve this problem the PCIeX16 first graphics card must be installed in.
the white PCI slot. "Then do the following:

    It made no difference.

"Starting the unit to the BIOS by pressing F10 at startup upward.

Select the device, advanced integrated graphics subsystem options and enable the embedded video.
By default the built-in graphic subsystem will be defined as disabled. »

I have no video option integrated in the device options.

'Save the changes and restart the device. Once the above steps are performed both

total of up to four screens. »

As I said this is not the case. I've tried everything I can think and am now
    at a total loss.

I bought an another NVS 290 pci-ex16, thinking the one I held should be defective, but
    It's exactly the same thing.

I then bought a NVS 290 pci - ex1 in case the mentioned White slot was the little
PCI-e slot. who has made a difference, he would not even boot into bios with
    This card is installed.

In the BIOS of the safety device: there is no option video device
in the devices on board: it just shows the serial port has
Features: It shows Intel VGA on the irq 5
In the device Options: it doesn't show VGA or integrated video.
in Options of Bus: PCI Serr # generation (disabled) and PCI VGA Palette
    Snooping (activated)

I tried all combinations but nothings working, I even updated the
BIOS 1.08 to 1.26. I feel like pulling my hair now. Is there something
I'm missing, is there any jumpers on the Board of directors who need to change or what? Any
    help would be greatly appreciated.

    John

    Hi, John:

Installation of a video slot PCIex16 black card should have automatically disabled the onboard video and the video card must have worked.

    I suggest...

    1. go to Device Manager and uninstall the integrated Intel graphics card and also uninstalling driver box.

    Shut down the PC.

Unplug all connected to it... keyboard, mouse, monitor... everything.

Follow the instructions to clear the CMOS.   See Appendix B, pp. 63 and 64.

Install the video card and put everthing back together and see if it works.

  • Quad dc5850 monitors: onboard video + video card

I have a HP AMD minitour dc5850 and want to connect 4 monitors.

I read here on the site of hp you can use the two onboard video (Dual DVI) and use an additional adapter (Dual DVI) to support a total of 4 (2 from dual onboard DVI) monitors and 2 double the graphics card DVI by activating the SurroundView in F10 setup.

    HP lists these ATI cards:

    • Map chart PCIe ATI Radeon X 1300 Pro (256 MB DH) - AH050AA (total four screens with edge)

    • ATI Radeon HD 2400XT (256 MB DH) PCIe-KD060AA graphics card (total four screens with edge)

    • Graphics ATI Radeon HD 3650 (512 MB DH) PCIe x 16-KS505AA (total four screens with edge)

Am I limited to these cards, or can I use a newer 'ATI' dual DVI PCI-e x 16 card work with the video embedded?

    Hello

Be careful with the latest AMD graphics cards as they do not work on your PC.  Find out what the return policy is before you buy.

I usually like to suggest older NVIDIA cards with a few exceptions, as they should have been disclosed to provide better compatibility with older PCs.  However, the old NVIDIA cards support two monitors. Some of the old AMD cards have compatibility issues in some of the HP PC.

The external monitor is loaded as screen 4. (Screen 3 is the T500 and 1 & 2 is assigned to the internal Intel screen card that is not in use)

    Thank you
    Philippe

Vista because of grief in this regard and we have never seen a good answer about why.

The good news is the utility Thinkpad Presentation Director - fire just that upward and step through the wizard. It will allow you to set up your monitors as you wish and save it as a profile. In most of the situations that the configuration will be available when anchor you, but worst case are you just select the profile of the PD icon in the task bar (or the value of the checkbox to automatically apply whenever the laptop is connected).

I want to emphasize however that we have to make these options - the great victory is the ability to put primary watching for whatever reason Microsoft has grayed out in regular checkups.

    Best,

    Kevin

P.S. If you really don't want to see the configuration of four screens and that you will not use the switchable graphics in the BIOS you can set discrete graphics (only) display rather than switchable. You will still likely PD to define primary/Main.

PPS you should also be able to do through the ATI Catalyst Control Center, but in some cases that makes you stop more than the PD Assistant.

  • Problem flying Cintiq Comanion 2 with GTX570

I'm sorry this isn't strictly associated with PremPro, but you were all helped tremendously when I built my system three years ago and a half years.  I was proud to have him in 4th place in the results of PPBM5 for a little while, and he is still ranked 17th, even though I know that this list has not been updated for a while.

My current problem revolves around adding a Cintiq Companion 2 of my game.  My GTX570 will grow only two screens and I was going to need the Displayport for CE2, so I got the hand on a USB-HDMI adapter to drive my second monitor. After much tinkering, I discovered that the USB-HDMI adapter caused problems with the CE2 when connected to my office.  This being that pan and Rotate Canvas in Photoshop is so awkward that it is unusable!

I can't find better drivers for the USB-HDMI adapter, and I expected to get another year or two on my system that still works fine, so I'm reluctant to spend serious money replacing the GTX570 in order to further screens, driving when I be upgrading the entire system in a year or two.

My MB is a Z79 - UD5 in a CM Storm Trooper case.  Is there a video card that would correspond to the GTX570, will push the four screens and includes at least a Displayport and won't break the Bank?

    Thanks for reading.

    Trevor,

In fact, you have an X 79 - UD5 with an OC would be 6 hearts! An old but a goodie. I was thinking about how does a Z79 (4-wire) are doing so well on PPBM5 and went on the PPBM5 site that shows the specifications of your 17th place.

If you use first Pro CC, then please note that newer versions and recent ones seem to be affecting the use of video cards more.

I suggest that you select one of the maps in the series 900 GTX in Nvidia. The 970 is a very strong powerful card, but I think that in your situation, I chose a model 980 and NOT replace it when you build your next system. I think 3 x displayport (on EVGA models when even) ports will be 'future proof' as the connectors they selected for the GTX 970 models.

I know very little how would proceed at a 960 GTX, but it would probably buy the next 1.5 years if you're really bent on building a "new" system on the road.

    Kind regards

    Jim

  • Multi-display PCoIP

    Hi guys,.

    Just a quick question.

I searched on PCoIP for multi-display (must have four screens on the thin client)

A salesman told me I could have only 1 VMS per server if I wanted to have 4 screens for a user.

I find this odd, with some of what I read.

so the question is - is it possible to have say 3-4 VM on a server just providing 4 screens to users of the software thin client PCoIP?

    Thank you

You can have a VM with 1 to 4 screens, there is no limit on how many per server, with the exception of the resources and maximum configuration.

    The seller won't.

    Best regards

  • Pavilion office 550-154na: Windows 10 & Lock screen customization

    Hello

I have a brand new out of the box PC 64-bit HP Pavilion Windows Desktop 10. I learn the tricks of the trade for Windows 10 and, above all, everything goes smoothly.

However, I am struck a problem when customizing the Windows lock screen where Cortana, help and research-online help don't prove useful.

My problem: I can't get the lock screen shows that I'm here. (Perhaps my expectation does not?)

I know that to go to start - settings - customization - lock screen.

    In this screen, I chose:

. "Windows features" as my lock screen image.
. "Mail" to "choose application display detailed status.
. "Weather" 'calendar' 'Bank' and 'Messages' to 'Apps to choose to display Quick status ".

'Display the background image Windows on the login screen' is to 'Off' (I don't think this is related to my question).

    I restarted.

When the lock screen comes into play, I see a Spot image as well as the date and the current time. The Spotlight image never changes. I don't see anything more. There no indication in the corner bottom right of my screen for mail, weather, calendar, store or messaging applications although each application is permanently enabled and working.

My expectation: when the inside lock screen shots should show current spot image, time / date, some details of the Inbox, local weather conditions (location is enabled), calendar, some info about the Store and info some info e-mail.

I'm still at the experimental stage in an attempt to solve this problem. In the meantime...

    1. is my correct expectation? Am I missing something?

    2. do I need to already have the Email applications, weather, store and open mail?

    3. is there a link between the lock screen and the screen time-out settings? Or are these two elements absolutely nothing to do with?

    4. lock screen coup in like a screen saver? How long should it take to kick lock screen? What is available to customize or fixed?

I could on the road to a dead end. I do not know!

I thank you for reading my post and for any assistance you can give.

    Kind regards
