5530 envy: Envy 5530 scan since the upgrade from Mac OS Sierra

Since the update of my Mac to OS Sierra 10.12, I can't scan to computer or run a scan of my computer.  I get an error message "Scanner reported an error" saying that my all-in-one is not available.  I tried to reinstall the driver, which is not very recent (up to HP?) and no help. I have tried everything I can think on my end.

Hello
The HP scanning application is not compatible with Sierra, so you may experience problems.
Remove the HP scanning by moving it to the trash, then empty the trash.

Instead install HP Easy Scan below, it will be installed in the Applications folder:
http://FTP.HP.com/pub/softlib/software12/HP_Quick_Start/OSX/installations/Essentials/HP-easy-scan-1_7_0.pkg

If you experience additional problems, ensure that the latest version of the software is installed by following HP Easy Start below:
http://FTP.HP.com/pub/softlib/software12/HP_Quick_Start/OSX/applications/HP_Easy_Start.app.zip

Finally, make sure that your drivers are up-to-date by clicking the Apple icon, select about this Mac and then press on software update.
Click on the Bank on the menu bar, click Reload Page, click all update if an update is available.

Kind regards
Shlomi

  • J6450 will not scan since the upgrade to snow leopard

My J6450 will not scan since the upgrade to snow leopard. I can print fine but when I try and scan is says sorry, scanner could not be initialized (Scanner not found.)

You scan the front of the unit?  The software included in Sl does not support that.  Also note the HP Scan Pro included in the 10.5 software will not work with 10.6.  The 10.5 software and delete the print queue.  Make sure your 10.6 is update 10.6.1 and go here to download and install the HP software for 10.6 and Setup for your J6540.  You should be able to scan after that.

  • Not able to scan with the preview after upgrade from Mac OS Sierra...

After upgrading to Mac OS Sierra. I'm unable to use the preview to scan.  Before this upgrade, it worked fine.  The HP scanner software does NOT work something like OS 10.8 or 10.9.  Preview worked perfectly so far.  If anyone knows how to solve this problem, your contribution will be greatly appreciated.  Thanks in advance.

Have you tried scanning with Capture of Image instead? It worked for me.

  • C8180 won't scan since the upgrade to 8.1 Windows

I reinstalled the drivers (full version), run the print and Scan doctor (who says that everything is fine!), unplugged, rebooted etc etc.

Scan photos, but the documents get stuck about 25% through and HP solutions Center will "not responding".

Last time something like this happened, I remember having to change the registry for sorting.

It's quite disappointing... it was working fine before "moving" to Windows 8.1 to 8.0. There is problem of Windows, or HPs... anyway I have to lose a load of time trying to get something to work that was OK before.

    Hello Colin_G,

    Welcome to the HP Forums.

I see that you encounter some problems when you try to print since you did the upgrade of Windows 8 for the 8.1.

I have a few steps, we can try troubleshooting.

Stage of punch that I suggest that we take is to remove the usb from the printer and computer cable and let that it disconnected until further notice.

The next step is to uninstall the software and drivers that were still installed when using Windows 8.  Please click on the following link for printing software uninstalled.

Once the uninstall is complete, reboot the computer.

When the computer is back up and running, please click on the following link for the drivers and software HP Photosmart full feature.  Please save the download to your desktop as it creates it's own icon.  It will be easy for us to find when the download is complete.

Double-click the icon and follow the instructions for installation without forgetting to do not connect the usb cable when prompted to do so.

If troubleshooting doesn't help not solve your problem, then I would say call the HP Technical Support to see all the other possibilities for you. If you call in North America, the number is 1-800-474-6836 and for all other regions, please click here: click here.

    Thanks for your time.

I just installed Windows 8 pro on my PC toshiba laptop satalitte and can n o liked find my bluetooth!  I looked in the devices and did a search and did not find, please help

    Hello

You need to install the driver Bluetooth and other drivers on your computer. You can find the drivers on the website of the manufacturer of your computer.
If you want to keep them updated so that your computer works to its full potential, then I suggest that you install RadarSync.

  • Photos for Mac behaves VERY strangely since the upgrade to Sierra

    Hi all.

I have improved my mid 2010 MacBook Pro for macOS Sierra September 21.

The first time I launched the Photos app after the upgrade, I got the usual message on photo library updated, but when that reaches 100%, I noticed that he was missing a large number of thumbnails in my library. The photos in question were display in miniature (or 'moments') view as pale gray rectangles with a cloud icon in their breast.

I don't immediately panic, because I assumed that they would gradually repopulate for a little while. I got "Storage optimize Mac", the value of preferences so all of my original pictures must be in iCloud. I have a Time Capsule, make automatic backups, and I made a backup Time Machine on which, immediately before the upgrade, so I am reasonably confident that I did not really lose my photos, (and all of my pictures and their thumbnails are present & correct on my iPhone).

But, almost a fortnight after the upgrade, most of my thumb nails is always reported missing since the Photos of Mac application, which makes it very difficult to find pictures of course.

Last night I noticed that the Photos app showed 'Uploading photos 10 985 nnnnnn' at the foot of the view of the times, with the first digit decreases slowly, so I disabled the options to ensure that my Mac doesn't go to sleep and I let it run until the download was complete energy saving. Then, he showed "updated... "at the foot of the view of the times for a while.

I was hoping that my thumb nail would be back after that, but they are not!

It seems that the Photos app is not sync with my iCloud storage, for any reason, or at least if it does not in fact what it has synchronized.

A double click on these thumbnails blank to open the photo is not consistent either. On some that I try to open, they do not open, and when I return to the thumbnail display the thumbnail is now also. But on others I try to open I just see a completely white area where the photo should be. However (and this is really weird!) when I return to the thumbnail display after those I see very very briefly the photos as they will shrink to the size of the thumbnail, and then they are virgins thumbnails with clouds still...

I wonder if I should change the preference of Photos of 'optimization of storage' to 'download the originals' in an effort to recover my thumb nails. It seems that I have almost 62 GB of free space on my Mac, and my Gallery of photos shows that there are currently 31GB. Or do I have to re - install the Photos app? (Is it possible?)

Or is there a better solution to the problem please?

Thank you for all the helpful tips.
