  • Very frustrated! Can print but cannot scan

    HI -.

I have a PC with Vista and a C4280 all-in-one.  No problem printing, but it behaves as if there is no connection between the printer and the scanner when I try to scan.  I can't even open the HP Solution Center.  When I do I get the error: No. HP devices have been detected.  HP Solution Center will be closed.

I did research on what to do and I tried to uninstall, then reinstall the driver, disconnect all cables and usb.  I know I'm not the only one who has this problem, but none so I see a ton of questions about topics I read enabled.

Don't mean to be grumpy, but I am VERY FRUSTATRED!  Can anyone help?  Thanks a lot if you have any ideas.

  • Can print but cannot scan Photosmart HP 6510

After being able to print and scan at my Photosmart HP 6510 my VIAO laptop Ultrabook, for some reason, I lost the ability to analyze.  Whenever I try, I get the error message "the scanner is currently in use. Wait until your previous task is completed, and then try again. "The problem is the scanner is not in use and I do not see how to delete it.  This same printer/scanner device other users can connect their computers and scan from it.

What program you use to create the scans and what file format you saved scans - PdF, JPG, TIF?

I suggest using assistant installation automated HP.

    Go to http://www8.hp.com/us/en/troubleshooting.html

Work carefully through the steps to detect your printer through the option to allow web service from HP to install the necessary drivers.

    -install the updated drivers

    Hello

    Please try the steps below...

    1. While the printer turned on, unplug the power cord from the back of the printer.
    2. Wait 60 seconds.
    3. Plug the power cord printer directly to a wall jack (bypass surge / power strip) and then to the printer.
    4. Now, make a copy.
    5. If the problem persists, select SETUP (wrench) > tools > Restore Factory Defaults
    6. Wait 30 seconds and then try to make a COPY.
    7. If the problem persists, open the lid of the scanner, and then press black COPY. Check if the scan transport moves and it's on.
    8. Transport scan is not turned on or move in all, then its time to replace the printer.

  • Photosmart Premium C410 can print but cannot scan

This printer has been installed and working properly on our home wireless network.

This morning (coincidentally or not?) after a Windows update last night, this morning, I can't open the solution Center HP to scan; He told me that my installation is incomplete.

I then tried on our another computer (which has not been used recently and so doesn't have the latest update of Windows Installer) and was able to scan successfully.

Now, when I try to scan directly from the printer, it does not recognize my laptop and scans directly to the other PC (and yet I can print to it).

After several unsuccessful attempts, I finally got to re - install the two HP Solution Center and the printer (since the last driver available online) driver. Still having the same problem.

I've removed what I could from Windows yesterday updated (although it is dated yesterday) but unable to remove one for Silverlight. It made no difference.

I would like suggestions as to what I can do.

    Hello

Download and run the HP utility digitization of diagnostic located here. It can solve a lot of problems and if not give us a better idea of what is happening with the printer.

    Good luck!

  • Can ping printer but cannot print

    Hi all
Not sure if this is the right forum, but it is a network printer, so I thought I would try it. My apologies if it should be elsewhere.

I have here a user who is trying to print to a printer Samsung CLX-6200 from anywhere in Windows 7 (even a test page will not work). We can see the printer, we can interact with the properties, we can ping the printer. We can do just about everything except print.

It is not a printer problem, like others on the network successfully print on the printer. It is not a print spooler problem, because the user can print to other printers on the network successfully. I assumed it was a corrupted driver or something, however to remove and then reinstall the device at no change results. I tried to connect directly to the printer (using a TCP/IP port) and connection via the print server. No luck.

The print job appears in the print queue but does not print and eventually fails. The print processor is Winprint, I checked the logs, but found no errors.

A complete reinstall, which I really don't want to do in deca (the user is in a remote office) I'm out of ideas.

The user runs Win 7-32 bit on a Dell Vostro 3550.

The following is based on my experience with XP; I haven't done a lot of work/research on Win 7 yet so I can't tell you absolutely that it will work, but it is worth trying.

In general, printer drivers are installed using an INF file.  However, the first time that an installation is attempted, Windows 'compile' the relevant INF file in a companion PNF file with the same name.  For subsequent installations, Windows uses the PNF file.

If you suspect a corrupted driver and download a new one, unless you have completely removed the old driver, including his PNF file, Windows will often use the old files.  You think that you install a new driver, but you're really not.

In Windows XP, the solution had to go on 'Server properties' in the file menu of the windows printers and faxes and delete the suspicious driver from there.  In Windows 7, it's a little more complicated:

Control Panel > system and security > administrative tools
    Print management
In the left pane, expand print servers > > drivers
Select the suspicious driver in the right pane and Delete (I don't know if you have to remove the complete package 'pilot' or not, that the option was not under XP).
    Now reinstall the driver.

If the remote user does not use a "computer administrator" account, I suspect that you may need to "Print Management" right click and select 'run as administrator '.

P.S.: Another procedure in XP was to use cleanspl.exe to Windows 2003 (available here--> http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=17657) Resource Kit.  According to this Technet thread, the same tool will work in Windows 7.

  • MX922 prints but cannot scan

I had some problems and had to reinstall my MX922 on my computer Windows 7 Pro (64 bit). I used an Ethernet cable during installation but then opted for the wireless. But Canon IJ Scanner selector always shows the MAC address for the LAN port wired on the MX922 so he reports that the scanner is not connected and I can't scan anything. How can I get IJ Scanner selector use the right MAC address for the wireless LAN port?

I thought about it. I reinstalled the drivers of MP (again!) and that fixed it. IJ Scanner selector now has two cables and wireless MAC address for the scanner so all I have to do is to make sure to choose the right pair.

    Hi @Mrkil1o1,

Welcome to the HP Forums! I'd love to help you to scan from your 5530 craving for your Mac. I understand from your description that it worked well when you have 10.10, but since the upgrade to 10.11 you can print but not scan.

I've updated to Windows 10 and since then I can print but not scan with my HP 2210 all-in-one printer.  I tried to download the software updates, but nothing seems to work.  Any suggestions

    Hi @Sajapand @ddegan

I see that you both scan problems after upgrade to Windows 10, and I may be able to help.

Most of the products have updated software available on the HP support Web site for Windows 10.

I also saw a few posts that say Windows 8.1 driver works for Windows 10 as well, then you could try also.

HP provides a free tool called HP Print and Scan doctor to diagnose and troubleshoot printing and scanning problems. I recommend you to download and run the HP print and Scan Doctor , if she doesn't fix it automatically I would know what errors or messages that you receive.

  • HP Photosmart C6380 will not install on windows 8.1 after upgrade. Can print but not scan.

I recently updated my windows 8.0 to 8.1 Dell desktop and my 6380 photosomart would not work.  I downloaded the updated driver, and the installer hangs on "rotating disc icon" who then disappears.  It seems that the print function has been installed, but the printer doesn't scan.  Multiple level 4 uninstalls, restarts as well as disabling the firewall during installation;  I can print but not scan.   I know that the printer works fine I can scan my laptop.

    Hi Hein_Aggenbag,

I can't wait to hear that you have questions.  The firewall/antivirus can block specific components.  Try disabling the security through MSConfig program services, and then try to add the device software.  Also copies multiples or installs can cause this problem as well. remove all components before running the full functionality can also help. Please click here to complete the following steps to resolve this type of problem.  The information below will be useful for further measures to be taken if the above does not resolve the problem.

    1. at the first successful installation from a CD-ROM or by download (errors, unable to find the device, etc.)?

    2. is the device connected wirelessly or through an Ethernet cable?

    I hope this helps!
