564XL ink cartridge will not fit HP Photosmart Plus B209a

Just bought a cartridge combo pack. All color cartridges three made the printer, but photoblack is smaller and the front is configured differently from the original cartridge and does not crack. The printer indicates that the appropriate cartridge 564XL. Is it possible to adapt it or do I need to get another black cartridge?

[snip] After reading more, I discovered that HP has 2 HP 564XL black cartridges (not black photo). One is good up to 550 pages (that I bought) and one that is good up to 800 pages. Come on!! Who prints up to 800 pages SHOULD BE a 564XLX or something different from one who is only good up to 550 pages. THIS ALLOWS STORES PERFORM A SIMPLE BAIT AND SWITCH!

The cartridges cost so that the cost per page is the same.  See here for more information on this issue of HP.

I tried to install two different new HP 564 XL yellow ink cartridge in my Photosmart 7520. They arise constantly from their slots. I managed with the magenta cartridge that is similar, but the yolks do not remain in place. What is the solution?

Hi Rebmark, I did some research and found a troubleshooting page that describes some steps that might solve this problem.

Step #9 may be the answer you're looking for. When the ink cartridges is not properly connected, it can help try gently bending the cartridge tab try to avoid to bend this tab over a half inch, as it could damage the cartridge.

I hope this helps, but let me know if you're still having problems!

  • Black ink cartridge will not print in HP Photosmart Plus B209

I have had this printer for years.  I had a few problems here and there, but it was basically a machine reliable and quality.  A week or two ago, my HP black ink cartridge ran out.  I tried an ink cartridge not HP for the first time.  (Gasp!)  It did not work.  I assumed it was less and I pulled it.  I then installed a new HP black cartridge 564XL.  But still no black ink is printed.  I ran 'clean' in the Tools menu print head several times.  I cleaned the electrical contacts.  I made sure that the evacuation of cartridge area was clear.  I removed the cartridges, unplugged for a minute or two and reinstalled them.  Nothing has worked.  Probably put in this cartridge not HP for a few minutes is not totally destroy my printer!   Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Well, this printer has been crossed at my nearest store Big Box Office Supply for recycling.  I ordered a new printer (* certainly * NOT a HP!) and it will be delivered today.  HP, when figure you you lose your faithful?  There was a time I thought that all that HP was almost sacred in the world of technology.  No more, no more.

  • HP Photosmart Plus B210A black ink cartridge will not print

I have an HP B210A Photosmart printer. Windows 8 operating system.  Recently, I replaced all ink cartridges, Black XL.

Now the black does not print.  The printer recognizes the ink is there but not print during a test, as the other three colors.  I went back to store & exchanged the cartridge for me even if I had bought all four colors together.  Installed the new one and it still does not work.  Has gone through the process of the online help where they want me to buy an another print head, but that doesn't make sense to me.  The products are HP, ink # 564.

I wouldn't get rid of this product because of it.  Any help would be appreciated.

    Of course, out of warranty.

    Hi PaulieG,

I understand that you have a Photosmart B210a printer that is printing is no longer black. I'm sorry to hear you had to deal with this, but I will certainly do my best to help you with this problem.

I recommend you all first that you have a look at this print quality paper to ensure that no steps have been omitted in this document. You can also try the steps outlined in this document 'Print head problem' or "Print head seems to be missing or corrupt" Message appears on the computer to clean your print head manually. Then, in a last effort, if these steps do not help, you can also try a suggestion from Bob_Headrick to soak your printhead.

Hope this helps, have a nice day!

  • HP Photosmart more B210A: black ink cartridge will not print.

The black ink will print on my printer.  I installed new ink and cleaned the print heads.  I did a review of the printer and the ink of color appeared only.  The printer is recognizing the cartridge when I check the ink levels.  The first page after cleaning came out very faint then anything.  At first, I thought that the new black ink cartridge was defective.  So I replaced it with another new - no difference.

The only change is that I have installed all new cartridges when all printing has become very low.

    Help, please.  Thank you.

Fushing did not work, however, we used a demo on Utube and has not used the distlled water.  That could be the problem. The printer is about 8 years old, we decided to get a new one.  Thank you very much for your help.

  • Photosmart 5514: Photosmart 5514 - new black ink cartridge will not print

I just replaced all 4 ink cartridges (new cartridges of HP).  Each color prints fine except the black.  Not a spot of ink is crossing.  I removed, checked and reinsert the cartridge several times.  I check the contacts, clean them by following the instructions in the troubleshooting guide.  I've run the cleanup tool and quality report several times each.  Still nothing.  The printer is only a couple of years, out of warranty, but I don't have any problems with it so far.  Is there anything else I can try before I have to throw this printer?

For anyone who is having the same problem: I continued to try to understand this problem because I didn't have to buy a new printer.  I finally found a solution after trying everything that previously mentioned.  HP never really gave me any solution.

On the touch screen of the printer, go to Setup, then Preferences.  Do scroll to the chip in cartridge information and change it to Off.  Now my black ink prints!

I don't know if it will work on other printer models, but it worked on mine.

  • implementation of the ink cartridges will not be installed

I recently bought the hp photosmart 5520 e printer - all - in - one

When I turn on the camera, I get this problem:

    jam of transport
Please remove all packaging from the inside of the printer, then press ok to continue

I have removed all the packaging from what I see! If I press ok

    Then I receive this problem:

    Check the ink cartridges
the following cartridges appear to be missing
align the ink cartridges into the slots

They are certainly in their slots correctly... I tried to get out them and re - insert, looking for additional packages left on them, turn on/off, clean the contacts, the printer and they still do not work!

I'm sure that it will not need a service like suggests growth hurt here as its only 24 hours old!

    can anyone suggest anything else?

Hi, I would suggest definitely contact the HP support by phone for this. Can you please let us know how you get on?

  • Black ink cartridge will not print

Putting in a new black ink cartridge the printer says it's there and full of new ink but when printing it don't use it. It happened the last time that I put in the black cartridge and I managed to do it finally work but don't remember what I did. Why is this happening?

With printing black ink is not like that, there are only a few things you can try, and it looks like you did most of them. If the steps described in the following paper the link did not help, then you might make a physical print head cleaning. Bob_Headrick gave the steps to do this in the post below. If none of this does not work, you can either replace the printhead by contacting the support of HP, or you will need to replace the printer. If you are still in warranty, HP can replace the printer without cost to you. I'll link the information to get in touch with them below. The link takes you to a form to fill out. Once you fill it and she is treated, it will give you the printers warranty information, a file number and the phone number to call.

  • HP Officejet 4500 - new black ink cartridge will not print

I just replaced a depleted with a new cartridge, HP 901 black ink cartridge and the black has completely ceased to print.  I installed a new color cartridge and it seems ok.  I cleaned the printheads several times to nothing does not.  Can someone help me?  My OS is Windows 7.

Well, I don't know why, but the printer started working normally again.  I had turned if off for about one day and decided to try one last time before junking it and don't be, you know, it worked!  After turning on the printer, I printed a 'State' of the control panel of the printer page and - no problem.  Then I tried to print documents from my laptop and still - no problem.  I guess only time will tell if the problem is actually solved, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.  Lisa, I hope that the demon decides to leave your printer as well.  Good luck!

black ink does not print and alignment fails.  I cleaned the printheads through all the levels.  The colors print perfectly but black will not print.  I have reset the printer, run test pages, but still no black ink and unity trys to align, but fails.  The unit is no longer in warranty.

  • HP Photosmart Premium Fax all-in-One Printer-C309a-new black ink cartridge will not print

I just installed a new black cartridge (made by HP) what print quality became poor in the middle of a job.  He completed the job just fine, but when I tried to print later, the parts of the document that are in color/black and white will be printed.  Black is simply absent from the document.  the level of supply shows as thin and all the diagnostics indicate that there is no probem.  I have not received the error messages.  I tried to turn the printer power switch.  I tried to clean the print heads.  I tried to uninstall & reinstall the cartridge.  I do not have the black cartridges extra to try to see if that does not solve the problem, but as stated above, it worked at first.  I have just printed on ordinary regular white printer paper.  I tried all the relevant measures in the troubleshooting document of poor mailed print quality HP elsewhere on this page.  nothing worked!  another post mentioned someone resetting the printer, but did not say how it was done.  any ideas on a solution? Thank you!

To reset the printer, follow these steps:

While the unit is turned on, remove the power cord at the back of the printer. Wait at least 30 seconds, then plug the power cord to the back of the printer, then turn on the device. That will complement a power reset.

Now, lack of black printing can be the result of a number of things. If it's only missing say when printing from Word, then print settings in Word are set to grayscale only (or something similar) which would exclude the black cartridge. If all programs, so it's either the main print in grayscale settings only the value or the cartridge/print head is blocked to the top/Sales. If this isn't the print settings, then create a report of print quality and follow the steps described in this document:

  • Ink cartridge does not fit!

This is the first time that I replace ink for my printer Photosmart Premium model #C410a.  Went to Staples and got 2 different cartridges on 2 different trips.  I replace the cartridge 564 is regular black ink, NOT black photo.  The cartridge is very thin.  First of all, I bought the regular black 564 and it was too big to fit in the space provided (the only place that would fit that size is the photo in the black).  So, I went back and got the 564XL. I was assured that he would do. Once again, too much fat.  So I went to the hp official shopping site to try to order through them. They didn't even have my model listed as a choice in the drop-down list to decide what ink I would buy.  The only numbers listed were: C4140, C4150 and C4180.  What is a girl to do? I'm so confused, and I need to print!

Holy moly! I am amazed...  I completely messed up.  I'm generally pretty well about these things and I didn't know what cart. was that, when I installed them. I know now that I'm not crazy, just stupid. It is always nice to be exposed on a public forum. My brain was fried lately--the proof is here.  You are a life saver, thank you very much.  I can finally print once again!  You just saved my Christmas happy holidays!

  • New D5160 ink cartridges will not work

My printer photosmart D5160 HP need of ink so I bought the black (98) and three color (95) and install. They have not been rewarded. I used the tool kit to see if the ink levels are detected and no cartridge is detected. Red Exclaimation of printer lite flashes. I have several times gone out cartridges, cleaned the contacts and install. I turned off the printer, waited 10-15 minutes and turned it back. Still nothing. I had this problem 2 years when I replaced the cartridges but ultimately the printer detects them. I have a problem with the cartridges I bought or is it the printert? Everything was good with printing until I became a faded print copy and decided to change the cartridge. No error message, no flashing lites. As soon as I removed the old cartridge and reinstalled - it's at the beginning of this flashing red exclaimation lite.

I am running Windows XP HD on a Toshiba laptop. I hope I have provided enough information for someone who could help me.

I got a solution to my problem thanks to Advanced Tech Support with HP. Did you know that the printers are defined at the regional level? Yes, indeed. USA is region 1 and region 2 is Europe. It is defined by the settings of the software. HP has kindly give me the region codes to reset my printer to region 1 USA bought German so he will accept cartridges USA version. Perhaps in the future these regions will disappear and the world community, that we all will be Preval? In any case, Bravo to the team Advanced Support HP that has therefore reactivated me.

  • Refilled ink cartridge will not work

  • MacBookPro does not get with Photosmart Plus B209a

Constantly, I fight with this printer for simply doing his job.  Printing is still queued, scanning only from the computer itself using the system preferences and getting the printer to share wireless just is not doable.  I'm on Mac OSX Lion, and I wonder if this isn't part of the problem.   The latest updates from HP do not deal with Lion.  The printer worked well enough wireless using Snow Leopard.  Any help appreciated.
