: 6000 #1 IDE ERROR after disk replacement

Hi I have a couple of SP6000 and there a mounted DVD/CDRW (UJDA720 model number) who is unable to read the headlines, just hunting all the time that a disk is in the drive. I replaced the drive with 2 identical units called, but I get the message on the screen at startup, ERROR IDE #1. The laptop will then continue and has finished start, but the system is unable to see this player. I have tried both a UJDA720 and the updated version a little more recent, UJDA740 with the same results in two laptops.

Replaceing the old drive in your laptop will result in no error at startup and the system can see the drive in the Panel, but cannot read the titles, although it will hunt in search of them.

Any ideas as to the cause and the cure for this?

Hello

It seems that you have replaced the disc is not compatible.
As far as I know most readers using a selected cable configuration. Your car has settings master or slave.
Please check the label for more information that is placed on the disk
Well well, to solve this massage you need a player compatible and taken in charge.

  • Tecra M10 - #1 IDE error after changing ODD

    Hello community

    I know that the M10 is old enough, but until last week, worked well.

    First of all, there is no STRANGE access: drive doesn't recognize any media. After changing the STRANGE, I got the error IDE #1. After a little research I found that this must be a matter of ide toshiba cross wiring (?). Found something on the overcoming of the pins, but it did not work. Because I wanted to reinstall Windows XP (but the ODD is broken) I put the HARD drive in another laptop, removing all partitions on this subject, a reinstall a XP clear on that.
    Back on the M10, the laptop does not start but remains in a black screen with a blinking cursor.

    Anyone have any useful suggestions on these issues?

    Greetings and see you soon,

    Hello

    In my opinion the IDE error appears due bad master/slave setting of the new CD/DVD drive.

    The fact is that not all drives are compatible with all laptops. So the best option would communicate with a service provider allowed for a new compatible drive. An alternative, you can also buy the same car from an another computer store

  • Satellite 1400: I get IDE-error after upgrade to the slimeline DVD - RW drive

    I have the laptop with a DVD-ROM above it. (Second hand and no manual)
    I have a DVD - RW Drive (SOSW - 852S) I would use.

    I can adapt without any problems.

    It freezes on the spot but for about 2 minutes and then it says IDE-error then it it boot XP.

    When I go into my computer there is no DVD player.
    Have I missed something when I put the disc?
    I can't? t get the BIOS to check it out.

    I tried most of the buttons for example F2.

    Hi David

    It s a clear case for all those who have a little experience with mobile technology.
    You must know that not every drive slimeline is compatible and supported with the device.
    The Player supports uneditable master / slave or c - salt settings.

    In your case, the laptop freezes 2 minutes because the BIOS trying to find STRANGE.
    This is not possible because of wrong settings and pops up the error IDE.

    Hello

    Where did you get the firmware?
    I guess you used is not not compatible or not supported in the firmware and this software has changed either the csel/slave/master settings or damage the player.
    This ide #1 error appears if the BIOS can not find the drive.
    This happens because of the wrong settings or corrupted disk.

    Unfortunately, I put t see chances to solve this problem. It seems that you damage the drive ;(

  • PowerEdge 2900 showing predicted failure after disk replacement

    Hello

    I posted this same message in the forum of the disk drives, then I realized there's a specific forum for disks hard server so I'm copying here.

    We have a Poweredge 2900 with HDs 2x500Gb on RAID-1. One of the drives has failed and we replaced it with an identical disk that works very well (same brand, model number Seagate, etc.), but without a Dell PN.

    After replacement, the controller began to rebuild the RAID, but it shows "predicted failure = Yes" for this new album. The disc is currently still under reconstruction.

    One thing to notice is that apparently the Perc firmware is outdated. OpenManage shows that the current Perc 6 / i firmware version is 6.0.2 - 0002, and the minimum required version of the firmware is 6.2.0 - 0012. If I go to the Dell support site and enter a label for the Server service, it shows me a download available for the Perc firmware with version 6.3.3 - 0002.

    The questions are:

    -Is generally allowed to use not Dell certified readers if they are of the same brand and model as the other disk?

    -How would I determine the source for the warning of predicted failure?

    -It would have something to do with obsolete Perc firmware? Are there risks associated with Perc firmware upgrade?

    Thank you very much in advance for your help!

    Julio.

    Update for our fans to the forum thread. Original poster concluded that used replacement drive was indeed bad. He is later replaced by a good drive and will update the server accordingly.

  • Satellite Pro 6100: IDE ERROR #0 startup problem

    When I turn on the computer the Toshiba red symbol is displayed as usual. At this point, I have input a password which is accepted. However, a reading "IDE ERROR #0" error message appears followed by

    I inserted the version of bios and all drivers disc that came with the computer. Nothing happens, and the error message is repeated. I have been told by friends trying to boot in safe mode, but am unable to find it in the bios. It has also been said to try reinstalling windows.
    I'm not sure what to do and would be very happy for any advice on the subject.

    Hello

    Usually the HARD drive is set to IDE #0.
    The PXE error if the laptop tries to boot from the local network, but the cable is not connected or is not possible for the start of LAN.

    In my opinion, there is something wrong with the HARD drive or the BIOS does not correctly recognize HARD drive. I recommend you to check the pins on the HARD drive. In addition, you must change the boot order in the BIOS.

    fl0bot,
    The message you are getting means that there is some corrupt system files that could not be fixed.  If you look in the CBS.log file , it should tell you which files.  When you do that, you can try to replace the corrupt files.  However this seems to happen whenever you update it a game then you will need to contact their support for aid as this can be a problem for them.  Mike - Engineer Support Microsoft Answers

  • Explorer.EXE error after the restoration of the ERD Commander

    Dell Inspiron B130

    Windows XP Service Pack 2

    Recently performed a HD format and new installation of XP SP2. After I installed all the drivers and others, I checked that the system was operating normally. After a few days of use, Windows Update downloaded Service Pack 3 and asked me to install. I started to install SP3, but at about 50%, the laptop battery is dead at Midway through the installation. I plugged the laptop on the power source and power. I restarted the laptop and XP started only a completely black screen and the white slider. No ALT + CTRL + DEL, desktop icons, etc.

    I rebooted the laptop of ERD Commander, ran the restore system and selected the first available Restore Point. Point of restoration chosen was recorded a few days before, and was the first recorded point after the clean installed XP. I rebooted the XP system. Wallpaper loaded with white cursor, but NO start menu or desktop icon. A message appears saying "Explorer.EXE Application error, press OK to exit the application" or something very similar. Did not write the error code, but can get if necessary. If I press the OK button (which is my only option), there is still no icons on the desktop or the start menu. Only the cursor. No access ALT + CTRL + DELETE or something like that.

    Thinking about completely wipe the system and reinstalls the operating system. Any suggestions before I jump in this solution?

ERD restart order and restore XP to the last known good config (I choose point immediately after XP clean install). Reboot to XP. Now the wallpaper shows as well as the error message saying "Explorer.exe Application error, click OK to exit Explorer" dialog and then I can't access anything. Any ideas?

    Hello

    What is the full and exact error message?

    Step 1: Check if you are able to boot into safe mode without any problem. If you are able to boot into safe mode without any problems then try to perform the clean boot to safe mode. Also disconnect any external devices connected to the computer.

  • Toshiba laptop start registry error after manual stop

    original title: Toshiba laptop start registry error after manual stop - HELP!

    Hello, I have a Toshiba laptop with Windows Vista.  Yesterday it froze completely upward and I had to manually close (hold the power button until stop you him) twice.  The second time when I tried to restart the came Toshiba screen, then the screen with the little scroll down bar, and then it went black, waited for a while, then flashes a bluescreen with a written up VERY quickly and cycles back to the Toshiba screen.  This time after the scroll bar it gives me white saying the writing system could not restart, and I want to start normally or startup repair. If I restart it through loading files, trying to fix it and said then he wasn't able to fix it and when I look at the details there something on a registry error.

    I really need to solve this problem quickly and desperately want to save all my files if possible because it's our main Mobile family that has all our digital photos on it and they are not saved. (I know, terrible of us).  Can someone help me?

    Follow these steps to try to solve your problems of boot.

    Restore point:

    Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.

    Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...

    Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    If restore work not and you do not have a Vista DVD from Microsoft, do a repair disc to do a Startup Repair:
    Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.
    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.
    When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.
    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial148.html
    Link above shows what the process looks like and a manual, it load the repair options.
    NeoSmart containing the content of the Windows Vista DVD 'Recovery Centre', as we refer to him. It cannot be used to install or reinstall Windows Vista, and is just a Windows PE interface to recovering your PC. Technically, we could re-create this installation with downloadable media media freely from Microsoft (namely the Microsoft WAIK, several gigabyte download); but it is pretty darn decent of Microsoft to present Windows users who might not be able to create such a thing on their own.
    Read all the info on the website on how to create and use:
    http://NeoSmart.net/blog/2008/Windows-Vista-recovery-disc-download/
    ISO Burner:http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html
    It's a very good Vista startup repair disk.
    You can do a system restart tool, system, etc it restore.
    It is NOT a disc of resettlement.
    And the 32-bit is what normally comes on a computer, unless 64-bit.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    Data recovery:

    1. slave of your hard drive in another computer and read/save your data out there.

    2. put your Hard drive in a USB hard drive case, plug it into another computer and read/save from there.

    3 Alternatively, use Knoppix Live CD to recover data:

    http://www.Knopper.NET/Knoppix/index-en.html

    Download/save the file Knoppix Live CD ISO above.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    http://isorecorder.alexfeinman.com/isorecorder.htm
    Download the Vista software from the link above.
    After installing above ISO burning software, right click on the Knoppix ISO file > copy the Image to a CD.
    Knoppix is not installed on your PC; use only the resources of your PC, RAM, graphics etc.
    Change the boot order in YOUR computer/laptop to the CD/DVD Drive 1st in the boot order.
    Plug a Flash Drive/Memory Stick, BOOT with the Live CD, and you should be able to read the hard drive.
    When the desktop loads, you will see at least two drive hard icons on the desktop (one for your hard drive) and one for the USB key.
    Click on the icons of hard drive to open and to understand which drive is which.
    Click the icon for the USB drive and click on "Actions > Change the read/write mode" so you can write to disk (it is read-only by default for security reasons).
    Now to find the files you want to back up, just drag and drop them on the USB. When you're done, shut down the system and remove the USB key.
    See you soon.
  • Error message "the computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error" after starting the system on Windows 7 Recovery.
    While trying to reinstall Windows 7 on my Dell Inspiron 1545 of the reinstall DVD after you have installed a hard drive again, I got this message: error message "the computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error" after starting the system on Windows 7 Recovery. Tried F10, SHIFT F10 and nothing happened. Then I tried a suggestion of virtual Agent to press F8 to get to advance Boot Options, but this option does not appear! Help!
    For Dell cptrs, you will need to press F12 to access the unique Boot Order Menu(= a temporary setting), little after the Dell logo appears on the desktop. U hv only 5 seconds to do, b4 the cptr will automatically initialize to top with the internal HARD disk.
    ....... F12 is usually used to start the cptr since the DVD player or a plugged in USB-flash drive with a Win 7 install or recovery media.
    To permanently change the boot order, you must similarly press F2 to access the full Boot configuration Menu. The default boot device is the internal HARD drive, but this can be changed to DVD player, USB, disk, network drive, etc. F2 is usually used to start the cptr of an external hard drive(= USB HDD) that contains a bootable Linux operating system.
