6500e710n (vista) printer go sleep, I only sprained by unpluging.

6500e710n-z (windows vista) printer goes into sleep mode and can only be awakened by disconnecting the power plug back.  Power button does nothing.  He can't wake up with the computer.

@erw4wfi - you can disable energy saving mode by going to the guide installation on the front panel of the printer, go to Preferences, and then select the power save mode and disable this option. I also go to the Web Services, and then select the updates and make sure that the firmware is up to date by selecting check for update of the product.

@ erw4wfi and jdelich, I'd also sure that the printer is plugged directly into a socket wall and not placed on a surge protector to make sure that the printer gets enough power to wake up in itself. HP printers do not surge protectors because they have built-in mechanisms for safe keeping.

The following procedure that I would try would be to make a grab for power on the printer cable.

1. with the printer, unplug the power cord from the back of the printer and then unplug it from the wall outlet.

2. unplug the power cord of the power supply module in the middle of the power cord leaving in 2 separate rooms.

3. wait at least one minute.

4 reassemble cord, plug it into the wall and then back to the rear of the machine. The printer should turn on by itself. If the printer does not power back on, use the power button on the printer.

Welcome to the HP community @robert3591,

I read your post want to print in black ink only, from your Deskjet 3520 and how, you do not select this option, every time you print from your Windows Vista system.

I would say to change the option to print in black ink only from "Devices and printer" to contain the parameter always print in black. This is a great detailed post from my colleague @X-23 , which shows all the instructions and screenshots:

    Hi BARRYSPAULDING,

  • Vista print spooler stops

The print in Vista spooler stops when I try to print. He said the strategy adopted by the DEP. All printers disappear. I have to manually restart the spooler service (it is set for the recovery of the car) and it can print for a bit, but the spooler stops again.

    Hello

Since it is a DEP issue with a printer that could be a problem of IE (which concern Explorer and other functions of the system),
a spooler problem, or both. Frankly I don't know that I have 1 but I'd probably use these
    Methods.

The problem might actually be an add-on or another program to the origin of the problem and you should check that
    1st.

What antivirus/antispyware/security products do you have on the machine? Be one you have NEVER on it

    not better?

Close IE and try again IE or IE with no Addons

IE - tools - manage Addons (for sure disable SSV2 if it is there, it is no longer necessary but Java always install

    HP Officejet Pro 8620

Is there a way to make the printer print black and white only?

    Hi oldstrings,

You can change the characters to print grayscale (using a black ink only).

I extracted the advice of setting of printer for windows and mac.

Alternatively, you can check out the link to reference guide user below.

  • HP OfficeJet 8600: Print using black ink only

We use our printer as a copier only.  It is not connected to a computer.  Why do the color cartridges run out of ink and we cannot print black print.  We print any documents using color.  Is it possible to turn on the black only?

Sorry, but the HP Officejet Pro 8600 has separated from the inks and printheads and requires that all inks are available to avoid damage to the print head.

You can minimize the ink used with the following steps:

    • Use draft mode when the quality is sufficient.  Draft mode uses about half the ink or Normal or best mode.
    • Power switch of the printer only allows to turn off the printer.  If an external switch (as a protector or output impulse) is used more ink will be used at startup.

HP and other printer manufacturers have technology another printer for different needs.  For ink jet printers:

    • Some have integrated into the ink cartridges print heads.  These printers can print generally with one or more of the colors completely empty, or even with color or black cartridges (but not both) removed. The Officejet 8040 has us an example.
    • Other printers have separate replaceable printheads and inks.  An example would be the printer Officejet 8600.  In these printers print head can be replaced if they are damaged by running the printhead with colors off.  Some of these printers allow printing with a color, the other will not.  If the printer is run without ink in one or several colours, the printer may be damaged, but the user may be able to recover without having to send to the printer for the service.
    • Other printers have permanent print heads.  To run only those without little ink in all colours would risk causing damage to the print head because of clogs, air ingested in the printhead or grilled printhead resistances of shooting. The Officejet 6700 is an example of this type of printer. For printers with fixed print heads that could require the service to get the printer to print properly again when the ink is finally replaced.

The document described here how the ink is used.  The document is written for inkjet printers HP the same principles apply to printers inkjet from other manufacturers.

If you do ever print color laser printer would probably be a better choice.  If you occasionally print color but especially black a HPI printer as those in the first category above can be a good choice.

I don't have an option to print only black ink. The option does not appear on the print screen. I have the ability to print two-sided but not black only. I use OS X Yosemite 10.10.1

    Hello

    1. from the application used to print, click the file menu and select print.
    The print window is displayed.
NOTE: The print window might be minimized: click Show details to display all available parameters.

    2. to access the color options, click on the drop down menu, listed under the name of the program (e.g. TextEdit)
Will appear as Copies & Pages within Microsoft Office applications.

    3. Select Type/quality paper in the menu dropdown.

    4. click the triangle next to color Options of spending parameters.

    5. set the color to grayscale field.

It looks like you may have some saved jobs in your queue that need to be removed.

    Here's how:

To clear the print queue, stop the print spooler service and delete all the jobs/print pending.

You cannot delete all print jobs in the queue so that the Print Spooler Service is running.

To stop the Print Spooler Service, click Start, run and enter in the box:

    services.msc

Click OK to open the Services Applet.

Locate the Print Spooler Service, right click and choose 'Properties' and then click on the "Stop" button to stop the Print Spooler Service is running.

The option "Startup Type" of Service properties print spooler is usually set to "Automatic" (which is now a good time to check it out).

If the "Startup type" is not set to "Automatic", set the "Startup type" to "Automatic" If that is your desire (which now is the time to check it out).

Do not try to start or restart the Print Spooler Service immediately.  You must remove all print jobs backed up first...

Then, delete all updates pending upward and forward to printing from XP.  If they do not print before, you will need to send the to the printer again.

Using Windows Explorer, navigate to the following folder (assuming that Windows is installed on your C drive):

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\PRINTERS

Delete all the print jobs in queue (select and delete all the files) in the folder if the folder is without waiting for print jobs.  The folder must be empty when you are finished.

Reboot your system and check the Print Spooler Service again to make sure the Print Spooler Service restarts automatically restart (given that the startup type is set to automatic).

After the reboot, check again the Spooler Service for printing and the 'Status' column for the print spooler must be read "started."

Submit new failure of print jobs.

If you have gone through the Setup Menu the Setup Menu under 'Energy settings' and the system chosen for the Sleep Delay option, then you have successfully configured the printer for its energy conservation mode.

I find not specific, it is possible that the screen can stay in this mode, however most of the time the power off screen is a feature of mode 'sleep'. With the screen being on this subject is still possible it's save energy by stopping all other drains power.
