6525 HP won't copy

The paper flow, the light does not illuminate, the book comes out blank. I tried the power button thing, did not help. Any ideas?

I can't make copies.

Hello @propilot,

Welcome to the HP Forums!

I understand when you copy a document, you receive a blank page using the Photosmart 6525. I will do my best to help you! Please make sure that the printer is connected to a live wall, not a surge protector. I just want to see if that makes a difference.

Try to perform a hard reset on the printer for more than 60 seconds. Leave the printer turned on > unplug the power cord at the back of the printer.

When you print a document from your computer, you get blank pages? Could print you a report of diagnosis of quality of your printer, as this will determine whether it lacks color or not. If so, then let me know if you're missing ink black or color on this post. I will seek forward at the hearing on your part have a good night!

    Hi @nsbguy,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I see that you have problems of the flat bed scanner glass copy on your printer HP Officejet 6500 has more. I'd be happy to help you and don't forget to come back to this thread and check "Accept as Solution", if I have successfully helped solve you the problem. If you want to say 'Thank you' to my effort to help, click on the "thumbs up" to give me a Kudos.

I understand that this printer has been very reliable for you, which is nice to hear. I see that you are able to print and scan, but they are not able to copy from the glass. I guess that when you scan using the ADF?  If the printer is capable of scanning, it should be able to copy.

To try to determine the cause, I will need more information.

    • Are you able to scan using the glass flat?
    • What happens when you try to copy?
    • What is the error message that you receive?
    • Are you getting what output it, or is it empty?
    • What you're trying to copy?
    • Make sure that the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet. (do not use a hub or a surge protector) This ensures that the printer is full on and can help this situation.

I would also try to update the firmware of the printer. Click here to download it.

In the meantime, to help determine the cause, try the steps outlined in this document, HP Officejet 6500 has e-all-in-one printer series (E710) - copy and Scan outputs are completely black.

Please reply to this message with the result of your troubleshooting. I can't wait to hear strings attached good luck!

Won't copy even if she looks like her do something. Error message reported that incorrect paper size has been used. All other functions seem fine. Just bought.

Odd. If it was the lamp of the scanner, it would happen, but you wouldn't be able to scan. If it was the print head removes you from the copy of the blank pages and not be able to print. It's really a weird question. I sent you something to try out via private message.

If you are unfamiliar with the operation of the function of private messages of the Forum, this post has instructions.

If the steps I sent do not resolve the problem, it will be best to reach out to the hotline. They may have additional options.

    Hello dsue

What happens when you make a copy? The same thing happens to the scans? When you perform a copy slightly lift the cover. Don't you see the light?

Also what printer are you using? There are several printers with the number of 6500. The model number usually looks like this: E709a.

  • HP Photosmart C410a won't copy

The machine will not copy. It prints from the computer, it scans and prints. It has a new HP ink cartridges. A blank page is anything out. It will copy the plate glass of the feeder is not.

    Hey @mikedn49,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I would like to help you with the resolution of the problem of copy of blank page that you are having with your HP Photosmart Premium Fax e-all-in-one printer - C410a today. One thing I have to admit, however, is that it is extremely odd that you would be able to scan, as you said in your original post. The copy mechanism is the same for scanning. Therefore, if there is a defect in your bulb copy, scan would not be. Because you specify that your product is able to scan very well, I think actually that you can experience a no black print quality issue. When you print from your computer the printer uses ink color to enrich black. However, when you copy and choose the option to copy black product strictly use black ink. If you have a fault with your black ink, then the copy would come out blank. To find out exactly what the problem is can have you run the steps below.

Step 1: Start a color copy:

    1. Load a sheet on the flat or the automatic document feeder on your product with something in color on the page
    2. Press the copy button
    3. Choose the color copy

If the copy of color print out as well in white (it would be very weird that the digitization of works very well) but I have to make you spend thereafter paper Support HP:

Vertical stripes, lines or streaks on Copies, faxes or scan

If the copy of color prints with the image on it, then copy/scan function is very well and your question is actually a black print cartridge problem.

To fix the issue of the cartridge black print Please run through the following steps:

Problems with print quality setting for the HP Photosmart Premium Fax all-in-One Printer Series (C410a C410b, C410c, C410d, C410e)

Please reply to this message with the result of the color copy, test and whether or not, the troubleshooting steps, I have provided you with a problem. Good luck!

  • HP Officejet Pro 8500 a won't copy

My printer works fine, but my copier will not copy.  When I select a snippet of copy, there is nothing except multicolored vertical stripes.  I cleaned the printer window.  I tried to change the settings, resize, move, & crop so that the image appears in the preview, but now none of my document appeared in the overview of Copier.

  • HP laserjet cm1415, I can print but it won't copy or fax.

all 3 colors are where, but still have 60% left black.

When I try to fax or copy, I get a message saying device busy, try again later.

I turned off\on that did not help.  'd love some ideas what to try next.

Looks like something is hung in the firmware.  First thing to do is to ensure that the firmware is up to date.  You can find the utility to check the updates of the firmware here for Windows and here for Mac.  If this does not work, try to do a hard reset to flash RAM of the printer.

    To do a hard reset:

    1. Make sure that the printer is turned on.
    2. Pull the power cord to the rear.
    3. Pull out the power cord from the wall.
    4. Wait 30 seconds.
    5. Plug everything up and turn on the printer.

My new HP Officejet Pro 8600 will not copy.  When I hit print I get an error "scanner failure".

I called the HP support by phone as suggested, and they had me unplug the printer, then hold the power button in during 15 seconds, everything disconnected in order to "drain the power."  Once I have it plugged it back in and he began to copy correctly turned on!  Hope this helps someone else with the same question.

I guess that you install by using a Windows XP installation CD and follow the normal installation procedure.  It is likely that the source file cannot be read from the CD or the file cannot be written to the hard disk.  If she is unable to read a file from the CD, then try to remove the CD and clean gently.  When you are installing, it asks to format the hard drive and gives you the possibility of a quick format or regular format.  When you get that choice, do not choose quick format.  Instead, leave completely reformatted the hard drive.  It takes more time but cards of bad sectors out of use that may be on the hard disk.

  • OfficeJet 6500 a won't copy

    Hello

My OfficeJet 6500 has no copy of the glass or the charger. After I pressed the copy button, the printer will start to feed a blank sheet of paper, but will never draw the original document. When I use the glass, the same thing except that I can't hear the scanning bar move. The display is still moving, but nothing happens. I leave set until 15 minutes nothing happens. When I press 'Cancel' the white sheet, he began to feed will come through the printer, but the display will never return to the home page, which requires him to be stopped and restarted.

I can scan the tray or feeder without problem, and there is no problem printing.

I tried to let the printer unplugged for more than 15 minutes without change. This problem seems to arise after the last update of the firmware.

    Thank you

    ~ Chris

Sometimes a hard reset will fix glitches in the firmware.

    1. Make sure that the printer is turned on.
    2. Pull the power cord to the back of the printer.
    3. Pull out the power cord from the wall.
    4. Wait 30 seconds.
    5. Plug everything up and try to copy.
