  • HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 periodically loses the wireless connection

I have a new printer HP 8600 settlement. It is configured as a wireless printer and most of the computers on my network are able to access very well.

However, I have a server running Windows 2003 Small Business Server and it's hard to stay connected to the printer. The server is wired through an ethernet cable, the printer is configured as a configuration wireless w / an IP defined manually so that computers can easily locate the printer on the same IP address every time. I used Windows XP drivers to install the printer very well under Win2003SBS. When connected, it prints very well. But after awhile, the printer loses the connection with the Win2003SBS machine. Sometimes it prints, usually, is not. I have to reset the printer as if it is going into such a deep sleep, the server is unable to wake up the printer.

In addition, the printer struggled to connect to shared folders on the server (more precisely, the function "scanner network"). If I go into Internet Explorer by using the browser from the server, then connect to the 8600 via the built-in web server, it won't work. Once the server is connected to the printer on the built-in Web server, the server and the scanner will be will recognize each other. It is a painful and tedious extra step and it will expire after a short period, after which the server and printer must be connected in the same way.

All my computers/printers/faxes are connected to the same wireless Westell 7500 router. They should not have communication problems because they are all pulling IP addresses in the same area.

Is there a way to make the server and the printer recognize themselves and stay connected? Am I wrong configured something? Thank you.

    Hi bluestreak363,

I would change the Ethernet cable to make sure that you have a good solid connection and then download the software driver for Win Server 2003 on the link below.

  • HP DV7t-6100 loses the wireless connection

My HP DV7t regularly loses its wireless connection, without a valid reason, since I bought it a year ago. The remedy was to reset my router, despite the fact that no other devices at home - not even an another HP laptop and an HP printer - loses connection. But lately when I put the laptop to sleep - usually by closing the lid - the computer completely forget what network is attached to and so I have to reconnect manually each time. Even then, it takes very, very long time to connect and sometimes even said "it takes longer than expected to connect to the network.". Happy, told me what I already know! I checked all my settings in Windows 7 "Network and sharing Center" to make sure that my network is selected, it is a home network, that "automatically connect"; is selected, and that all my data password is correct. He still refuses to recognize the network and connect automatically. I'm done with this and just can't understand why this is happening. I haven't changed anything in my computer or router configuration, so I am at a loss why the system forgets everything and must be connected manually.  The wireless in my computer module is an Intel WiFi Link 1000 BGN and all drivers are up to date.

None of the suggestions so far have worked, but it seems to me a solution: spend my router from WEP to WPA2 encryption seems to have solved the problem, at least for now. I have no idea why this works, but a bit of google searching seems to indicate that wireless WEP can be flaky with cards and routers. If it doesn't work anymore, I will be sure to repost for a solution. Thank you all for the help - it takes a village (so to speak).

UPDATE: after 24 hours, the connection through WPA2 is rock stable with no connection dropped. It is also faster to download. I hope that this solution works for others.

Do you have an error message on computers?

This may be caused if you have configured the computer to use the same static IP address.  To see if this is the problem, follow these steps:

With your computer connected correctly, follow these steps:

Open a command prompt window (type cmd in the search box and press enter)

In the black command prompt window, type the following command, and press ENTER after each line

    ipconfig/all > "% userprofile%\Desktop\ipinfoONE.txt".

    output

Start the second computer and perform the following steps (which assumes that the second computer has Windows 7):

Open a command prompt window (type cmd in the search box and press enter)

In the black command prompt window, type the following command, and press ENTER after each line

    ipconfig/all > "% userprofile%\Desktop\ipinfoTWO.txt".

    output

IpinfoONE.txt of copy on the desktop of the first computer to a USB flash drive and then put the flash drive on the second computer.  Use the second computer to answer here, then paste the contents of ipinfoONE.txt and ipinfoTWO.txt in your response.  Be sure to indicate in your answer given that go with which computer.

  • all-in-one 7510 loses the wireless connection

We just bought a HP Photosmart 7510. She created fine with a wireless connection to our office for Vista 64-bit. After awhile, he loses the wireless connection. If I close the printer then turn on again, it resets the connection and works very well. I read that it can lose connection if it goes into sleep mode, and it seems that is what is happening. My question is, is there a way to keep the impression of loss of connection or enter the mode 'sleep'? Or do we have to put the printer only whenever we wanted to print, copy or scan? If so, the printer is adjustable to disable instead of switch mode 'sleep'?

Already set to 'off '. I found this thread http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printer-Networking-and-Wireless/7510-photosmart-printer-energy-mode/m-p/1230681/highlight/true#M33814 I tried this and so far it works and has not lost its connection.

    Try these tweaks...

Start, Control Panel, Manager of devices. Click Network and then right click on your wireless network adapter, on the left, click on properties, power management. Uncheck the allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.

  • Re: Satellite L670 loses the wireless connection

    Hello

I have a Satellite L670 - 1 H 1, a new laptop that runs Windows 7, with all the drivers and software uptodate, including the wireless card.

I have a BT Home Hub 3 with an Edimax EW 7416APN v2 300 m range extender to help boost the signal in the kitchen area.

The laptop works fine when I stay in the room where the reception centre. If I move in the kitchen the laptop will usually lose the wireless connection after a few minutes and I cannot get it back unless I turn the LAPTOP works and return to the Home Hub.

I see no obvious reason to this problem. Two other laptop computers used in the home, more a smartphone stay connected with full signal in every corner of the House, at any time.

I have to use the range extender, but is it possible that the laptop Toshiba just don't hear well with it?

    Any advice would be welcome.

    Thank you
    Canton

    Hello Canton

As you know quality of connection WLAN depends on different factors is not easy to say why you have this problem, WLAN. I use Toshiba laptops for a long time now and I didn't notice in the past some serious question of WLAN.
For example I'm 4 router with standard g and have very good signal even in the cellar too or out in the back yard.

If possible, try to test the WLAN connection elsewhere. Maybe your friends have WLAN routers so you can test it.

You have a new router or old?
What WLAN standard do you use (b/g/n)?

  • 7520 HP loses the wireless connection. What can I do?

I've seen lots of talk about HP products, loss of wireless connection.  I have the same problem with my 7520.  Initial Setup is perfect, but he began to lose the connection when it went into standby mode.  Someone at - it a solution?

    THERE IS A FAST SOLUTION!
On April 18, 2014 (page 11 of this thread), I posted a quick solution. My HP7520 printer has worked on Netgear router WIFI 7550 flawless since then. I suggest you read this post.
From long experience with HP, I found they have great hardware, but their software has always been dismal. The ultimate "fix" would be for HP address their failure of a software that allows to my difficulty in working.
A single "tweak" in the router security settings wifi will do. The rest of settings changes other people have suggested are short lived (about an hour in most cases), while they don't be reconnected unless they restart everything. It makes sense because of what is happening.
The single "twist" parameter should logically point HP programmers to where in the firmware, there is the problem. They listen to? And, really, it doesn't matter on all other settings printer and router. All mine are back to the default settings and it all still works very well.
Go to a BBQ and stop wasting your time on this issue.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8600 Plus: loss of wireless connection, printer does not accept the password wireless

My printer has suddenly lost its wifi connection. It's the only phone connected to my network to do so.

Through the Wireless Setup Wizard to restore the connection. Assistant tells me that I entered an invalid password wireless, that is not true. (I confirmed that all devices connected to the network using the same password).

Reset the router (Technicolor of Time Warner). Reset the printer. The 'Restore default network' done. No luck.

Zero has changed since yesterday, when my printer was working fine. I used the same router for months, do not change any settings. Any thoughts on what may be the issue? A bad update happen?

    Thanks in advance.

My apologies for the late reply. I managed to get this problem resolved by phone to customer service.

The security mode of the router had to be changed to 64 WEP for wireless connection to be restored. According to Support HP, it's a common problem with the routers in Technicolor. There was no explanation as to why the printer has suddenly lost the ability to connect wirelessly when safety was created to WPA2-PSK. The network has been configured this way for more than a year.

I have almost solved this problem on mine (I had read about changing of security in a different post), but ran into a hiccup because of Safari. For some reason, Safari prohibited access to a menu page for my router security settings. You can imagine how boring it is to look at the HP Support use Firefox to access the router and do what a mouse click more, and then I had to make the change. So, if you make this change, be sure not to use Safari to access the gateway of the router Technicolor. Use Chrome or Firefox.

... I suggest you to update BIOS, chipset and wireless network drivers these links and check if it helps...

    Hi, Yann,

I updated the driver, but it did not help. Update the chipset has probably not because I have AMD (the update says that I don't have the required devices). BIOS has been updated some time (I have the latest).

I also searched other topics and did the following:

    Disabled IP assistance service;

Value another configurtion IP: manual and entered a fixed IP address and the default gateway.

Turned off the Windows Firewall for this network.

The problem seems went, at least for now, although I don't know what stage did.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8600 loses the wireless connection

I have a 8600 OfficeJet Pro (n911a), which has lost its connection with the PC. The computer is running Windows 7 (64) and work very well for several months. Recently, when you try to print, the following message is displayed. I did several searches on the web and found that this has been a problem in class, but no clear solution. The only thing I tried was changing layout alarm ink 'always' to 'then of printing"that someone has suggested, but that did not help. Other bids I found indictate that this problem occurs when the printer is idle for a few hours, but restart it restores. This isn't the case here. The following error message:

Any advice/suggestions/etc are welcome. Thank you in advance.

Well, the problem was solved by uninstalling the software, and then reinstall the latest version of HP.

The only reason why that I did not it was in the first place because many comments I've seen on this issue before said they had already tried that and it didn't work. So, I didn't see no reason to waste my time trying something that might take a lot of time with little chance of success. However, the printer in question was still under warranty, so I was able to communicate directly with HP and it's what they me ultimately do. I was online with them for nearly 90 minutes to try other things first, but this is what worked in the end.

If you decide to try it yourself, I would say that you do not forget to completely uninstall the current version first. The tech. I chatted with told me that it would be unnecessary, but do not do so caused several other problems. I finally had to do a system restore, and then try again until it would work.

    So far so good.

We will set an IP address of the printer:

-Print a the front of the printer Network Setup Page. Note the IP address of the printer.
-Enter the IP address in a browser to reveal the internal settings of the printer.
-Choose the network tab, then wireless along the left side, then on the IPv4 tab.
-On this screen, you want to set a manual IP address. You must assign an IP address outside the range that the router sets automatically (called the DHCP range). If you know what it is, set an IP address outside this range but not exceeding 254 (the last number of the address). If you don't know it, enter the current IP address.
-Apply the subnet 255.255.255.0 (unless you know it's different, if so, use it)
-Let the gateway and DNS white. Click 'apply '.

Now, stop the router and printer, start the router, wait, and then start printing.

After that, you will have to redo 'Add printer' using the new IP address.
