  • OfficeJet 6700: Officejet 6700 Automatic Document Feeder failure

I bought a 6700 Officejet of staples in August 2014. It worked perfectly and I used it to scan several years of bank statements using the ADF on the top of the printer. I have not had any problems up until October, when I tried to quickly copy a document on my way to work. The ADF has failed feed paper and I was forced to use the flat bed scanner. Since then, I was not able to copy or scan using the ADF with success. I cleaned the rollers, checked it is not (not even a small piece of paper), checked jam firmware is up to date, reset the printer, tried to start scanning the computer via ethernet and USB on Windows 7 and 8.1. When I checked my warranty status, it said it expired January 31, 2013. I submitted proof of purchase twice via the form of warranty status. It is said that I should have an answer within 24 hours, and I did not receive a response. I think there need maintenance, but I think I should be able to use the warranty for such a question.

Any help with this problem would be greatly appreciated. I've always bought HP printers for their reliability and longevity, and I don't want to have a bad reputation to develop between me and my main source of computers and printers.

  • How can I scan and collect documents face two pages multi with the HP 6700 doc feeder?

    Hello

I have an OfficeJet 6700. I need to scan documents of several large double-sided pages and want to use the automatic charger. I see nothing in the software to be able to analyze one side of a pile of pages, return them manually, then analyze the other side, and have the pages in a single document. It seems to me that this would be a fairly routine business need and also an easy enough task for software realize (just put each page second in order - basically the opposite of manually printing on both sides) so it makes me think that I must be missing something. Can anyone help please?

    Thank you very much.

    Hello MN42

The 6700 Officejet does not a duplex ADF to allow you to scan a two-sided document. Copy/scanning duplex is supported only in the glass on the model.

I suggest that you are looking to buy a printer Officejet Pro (for example, the Officejet Pro 8600 N911g) If you are looking for the digitization of documents front / back, through the ADF. You can also look for third-party software that supports what you're looking for.

  • A premium of 6700 Officejet do an analysis of the inverted image?

    Hello

I have a few documents where the background is black and the writing is white.  I want to scan and to reverse the image so that the background is white and the writing is black.  Is this possible with a premium of 6700 Officejet and the accompanying software?  Do I need a scanner dedicated with the best software to do?  Thanks in advance for your help.

    Gary

    Hello garyg45,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I understand that you want to perform a "reverse image analysis" with the Officejet 6700 Premium. I will do my best to help you! What is your operating system on your computer? Windows or Mac?

How is the printer connected? USB or wireless?

The HP software does not come with this feature, but there are of the workarounds you can try. If you have a Windows computer, you can use Windows Paint, which has an option to "Invert color" and "invert selection". You can scan a document into paint using the "from camera or Scanner" or you can copy and paste an image. I'll give you a document from HP on this step here. Click on 'How to Scan without HP software. Then follow this document How to invert the colors in painting.

Please post your results, I'll be looking forward to hear from you.

  • Unable to scan to the computer of my 6700 Officejet premium

    Hello

I have a new Officejet 6700 premium it's connected wireless to my hub.

I have two computers attached to it, my work computer XP and my computer running Windows 7. All functions work perfectly on my work computer, but I can't get the scan function to work on my computer at home. I constantly continues to receive the Unreachable error message scanner "to scan communication cannot be established.

I lived all the diagnostic tests, doctor scanning HP finds two errors

    • Windows WIA Scan
    • HP Twain scanning

but offers no advice other than to restart everything (that I have MANY times).

I disabled all my firewall and re-installed all the HP software and drivers.

I'm now at the stage where I'm about to resume and get another product, unless someone can help me.

    Thank you

    Hello world

HP has designed a quick and easy tool that diagnoses and solves many problems of printing, scanning and connectivity: The HP Print and Scan doctor. HP recommend you to download and install Print and scan doctor no matter what time you need to solve a problem with your HP printer from the link below.

I would like to know what are the errors you receive?

  • HP Officejet 6700: Officejet 6700 constantly "checking device.

My Officejet 6700 premium is connected wireless to my home network.  I have a strong signal to the printer. I have a desktop computer and a laptop running Windows 8.1 and a laptop running Windows 7. The printer ALWAYS shows (for over a week now) reads, "checking device. This process may take several minutes. Not turn the unit off, do not open or close the doors.  It will print a page or two, but if the print job is on 3 pages (or I wrap several jobs page) it leaves impression and gives me an error. My inclination is to unplug the printer to reset it and see if that fixes the problem, but the display says specifically not to do.  I pressed the Red "X" next to the screen, but the screen says while the verification process can no longer be interrupted.  Help!

That fixed the problem of 'Device of control...' » !  Here is what happened:

    (1) when I open the print cartridge door, the screen has said, "the door is open, etc" then when I closed the door the printer returned to 'control device '. »

    (2) when I hit the power button the display text, "maintenance cannot be stopped."  (She seemed very confident of this. Maybe she didn't know she could be disconnected.)

    (3) I have disconnected the power cord at the back and the decision-making and let stand for a few minutes, then plugged into the printer, then exit. The printer is back and initialized itself and then raged at me to unplug his: "Use the power button to turn off, do not use a power strip, etc."

Thank you!  However, it always not print an entire document.  I tried to print a doc of a page in five copies and printed four and a partial, then gave an error.  Any ideas with this problem?

  • OfficeJet 6700: Officejet 6700 Scanner glass Question Test

    Hello

Yesterday, I printed a printer status report for my Officejet 6700 and noticed an entry for Scanner glass Test.  It is based on parameters of scanning.  I looked at the User Guide and have not found anything for a Test of the Scanner glass.  What is this test and when I would go there?  Also, how I would she?

    Gary

    Hi there @garyg45 , I hope you're well!

I saw your post about how you noticed the entry for a "Test of the Scanner Glass" on the State printer however, not found information on the glass of the scanner Test in the user manual. The reason is that the Test of the Scanner glass is used by our service departments and you don't need to worry at all with a glass of the Scanner test. If the copies are to work successfully, the printer itself is fine!

If there is a problem you are having, feel free to let me know the details and I will do my best to help you with the problem.

    Have a great Tuesday!

  • 6700 Officejet paper jam

I had a paper get stuck in my Officejet 6700 and abducted. Now, I get a constant error on a paper jam. I visually check to ensure that all other options and without remains of paper, unplug the printer. Still, I get the paper jam error and can not even to the home screen to print a test page.

After having contacted the HP Support, it was determined that my printer has a bad paper sensor. It will be replaced under warranty.

  • Apple devices will not print not to 6700 Officejet, including the MacBook Pro and iPad

I'm helping someone to implement their MacBook Pro and iPad to print wirelessly on their Officejet 6700. I have recently set them up with a new Apple Airport Extreme for their router. The printer connects to the wireless network. During the installation process of the printer is fine, that the MacBook can easily see the printer. The appropriate driver is installed. They also have a laptop Windows 7, which prints instanteously and has no problem whatsoever.

When I try to print from the Mac, nothing prints. I open the print queue and it says 'Printing - a printer' and nothing ever comes of it. When you try to print from the iPad, you can see the printer and I select. However, after saying in print, said only dialog box: 'Connection to the printer' and he never - it just times out.

    Things I've tried:

    • Everything in this article which corresponds to Macs (10.8).
    • Reset the printing on Mac system.
    • Reset the printer to default settings.
    • The definition of the static IP address of the printer through the printer settings.
    • Setting the IP address of the printer via the Airport utility (after changing the automatic printer).
    • Restart the Mac after each attempt to remove the printer and adding again.
    • Using the official HP Officejet 6700 driver.
    • Use the Airprint driver.

    Other info:

    • Successfully, I can ping IP address of the printer from the MacBook Pro.
    • I can easily see the web page of configuration of the printer in the printer settings both by entering the IP address.
    • The printer is only about a month.
    • They bought this printer because the earlier had problems printing from all of their wireless devices. It is with a previous router in their ISP.

At this point, I'm completely puzzled as to why the printer will print not these Apple devices. We have addressed all the issues that might be causing it: the network, the printer and the MacBook itself. I looked online and can't see any problem with people not being able to print to a wireless printer connected to an Airport Extreme. I saw some problems when the printer is connected via USB to an Airport Extreme, but this isn't our installation program.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Wow, I must admit, I had to do a lot of research to find something that you have not already tried! Thanks for your efforts so far @derick03 I accept the challenge of helping you get this to work.

I have a vague feeling that the problem may have something to do with the router settings and to test my theory, I would like to try something for me.

Please, open the preferences system, printing and scanning, click on the + symbol to add a printer, but this time, instead of the default tab, click the IP tab. Now let's add the printer using HP Jet Direct Protocol instead of the standard Hello.

You can enter the IP address here, choose the HP Jet Direct and then select the printer driver, and then try to print. You will not be able to analyze this way, I just do this for diagnostic purposes. If you can print, it confirms the Hello Protocol is, and you will need to call Apple to make them turn on Hello, multicast and ensure that all the necessary ports are open.

Not all wireless routers take load Hi or all features of Hello. Hello being the default method for the discovery of printers on a network, you must ensure that your wireless router supports Hello.

I have an Officejet 6700 Premium printer e all-in-one.  I can not print if ANY color cartridge is low or empty and black is full, and I want to print something that uses black ink.  Is this what can I do to print in black only without replacing color cartridges when they are not needed for the print job? Still, I can't make any impression unless all color cartridges are not low or empty.

  • OfficeJet 6700: Officejet 6700 Premium driver for Server 2012

I need to connect this printer to a Windows Server 2012 R2.  There is no driver for this version of the OS on the driver download page.  Is one of the other compatible drivers?  Is there a driver available somewhere?

    Hello

The extraction of the installation is complete, the incompatibility alert is displayed only after the installer extracted.

Using any program for example extract 7z or Winrar as document attached to my previous post guide you within the following section:

Customize Setup > step 1: copy the driver and software files > second method: copy the files from the web Pack

In addition, you can click on the Windows Logo and the keys R on your keyboard and type folder in the Run dialog box, and then press OK.

Open the installation folder that begins with the charadters (e.g. 7z1234) 7z, threshold there find you any required MSI file.

You can copy the entire folder to another location for easy access...

    Kind regards

  • OfficeJet 6700: Officejet 6700 locked out of Control Panel

I just bought this printer for my office a week ago, and has put in place for the wireless network, everything worked very well.  Over the weekend, it seems he dropped the Wi - Fi connection and when I went to restore it, I am locked out most of the settings and said that the administrator (me) locked their (no) when it was put in place.

I plugged in an ethernet cable and I am still not able to enter the web page of the printer to access these settings.  On ethernet, I cannot ping the device from any other computer on the network.  How can I obtain this lock out of here? I'm almost ready to return this thing, it's ridiculous.

Hello @ArcticMoet and welcome to the Forums of HP, I hope you enjoy your experience!

I understand that you are having problems to the administrator. I would like to help!

  • Cord power 6700 Officejet question

Is it possible to connect my all-in-one printer fax scanner to my surge protector CyperPower?

    Hi @LoriOKC,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I understand you're wondering if you can plug in your all-in-one printer fax scanner to my surge protector CyperPower. I'm happy to help you!

It is recommended to connect the power cable directly into the wall outlet, not a surge protector. Please see this guide questions when it is connected to an uninterruptible power supply/Strip/surge protector power. This is true for printers and ink jet.

Hope that answers your question and have a nice day!
