6735 s his stuttering, high DPC latency

6735 s aged 8 months.

A month ago I started to notice the audio stuttering in video to download websites such as youtube. The problem tends to appear after about an hour of computer use / navigation. Recently, however it has started to affect the mpg and mp3 files played locally on my hard drive. The problem is much worse that a download is in progress (i.e. any download, the media files not only). I ran a DPC latency checker that I found on the web and I found that when I'm browsing or downloading files DPC latency goes through the roof.

About a week before I first noticed this problem I have updated graphics drivers from ATI (Catalyst v9.8, then recently v9.10), so I think it has something to do with it.

I tried to disable the WIFI / network cards, bluetooth, USB, CDROM drive, ATI drivers uninstall audio drivers, firewall, antivirus, killing all the processes that are unnecessary in the Manager of tasks etc. Only a reboot will solve the problem (for an hour or two before returning)

Does anyone else have this problem? It drives me nuts having to restart my computer for all hours.

Update: turns out the culprit being the ZoneAlarm firewall. I had heard of people having problems with the COMODO firewall, so I tried to uninstall ZoneAlarm and all is well again. Note must be a uninstall complete, just disable or turn off ZoneAlarm was not enough.

See you soon.

  • Satellite A500-1DN - high DPC latency resolved

    Hi all!

All first of all sorry for the bad English!
I am writing because this problem drove me crazy in the half of the year. I got cracking audio etc. thanks for the high dpc latency time but finally I managed to understand how to clear my A500 these boring of CPD points. I made these:

    1. update of the BIOS (1.90)
2 use this VGA nVidia Driver: 257.21. Only this one works. I tried every existing. If you have another type of satellite, but a Geforce 230 M GT in there and you have high latency tell him!
    3. use wlan driver atheros version 8002580
    4. use optimzer wlan. Name: wopt021 (disable background scanning and enable streaming mode)
If you use WiFi, jumping 3. 4.

Now my A500 works correctly, I am really satisfied with it :)
I hope that this guide will help all those who have the same problem!

    Good bye

    Hi atibrd,

I'm happy to hear that you have found a solution to this "problem" but I must say also I never had problems with my Satellite A500 and I put t know what you mean with a DPC latency. I use my Satellite A500 with OS preinstalled Toshiba and the latest version of the BIOS. Everything works fine, even some newer games run great on it.

In addition, with regard to the nVidia display driver I want to give you a little advice: be careful with 3 third party drivers, even from nVidia. No one from nVidia has tested this driver in particular on the Satellite A500. If the installation goes on your own risk because it doesn t have a protection against overheating.
That's why I only use the drivers provided on the official website of Toshiba directly. They are tested and working 100% correctly.

In any case, maybe for some people they have this DPC problem too it s useful. :)

  • Oh, the irony? High DPC latency with idle CPU - gives more stable, more low-latency DPC CPU usage 100%

    Just like in the title,

I tried everything, disabling components, elimination of most of my RAM, update BIOS and loading failsafe and optimized defaults, etc. - and one thing I noticed is that Prime95 running x 64 on all hearts eliminates the peaks high in 1.2.0 DPC latency checker. Audio stuttering, what original research for corrections me, brought me to DPC latency checker.

It's really strange that the 100% CPU usage would cause the DPC latency stabilize (mine hovers around 350-450 microseconds in the full use of the CPU, but in use slowed parameters or moderate apparently something causes a DPC peak at ~ 4100us max).

Let me know if you figured it out!

    Hello

I noticed that in my Vista 32 bit, I have strangely high DPC latencies

My system seems however works smoothly (games and everything). I disabled
    all unecesarry drivers, but
'problem' remains (even in an emergency mode).

Another thing is that my Vista 32 bit is high latency and low latency Vista 64

  • S20 Audio stutter / DPC latency... can't fix. Need help!

    Hello world

I have recently (last week) bought a Lenovo S20 (Xeon W3520 with 6 GB memory upgrade). I mainly

Use this workstation as a DAW for audio, check / change. Instead of preinstalled Windows XP (32-bit)

and the Vista Business that comes with the DAW, I installed Windows 7. Everything went very well,

the system is stable, ThinkVantage drivers are up-to-date. A NVIDIA GeForce 260 is used as graphics card.

But for applications audio my S20 as it is now, is simply unusable. I hear drop outs/stuttering even with the edge, if I play a mp3 or wav file. I have disabled unnessary devices / background programs, tested with HT on/tested, without Speedstepping and Turbo Mode. No difference. I get a regular DPLC advanced every 15 seconds. And the tips are very high (16 ms). No difference if I plug an EMU 1820 PCI card instead of its edge. Disabling of the on-board LAN has not made a difference either.

No idea how to solve this problem?

  • 8560w his stuttering during playback of music

    Hi all

I have the EliteBook 8560w for about a month now and noticed his stuttering when you open a new tab in IE/Chrome/Firefox.

Since it is a configuration quad-core with 8 GB of RAM, this seems quite strange.

    Anyone else having this problem?

    Configuration information:

    P/N: XX058AV

    CPU: i7 2630QM

    RAM: 8 GB (2 x 4 GB, Slot 1 and 4)

    VGA: ATI over-pants M5950

    HARD DRIVE: WD3200BEKT (320 GB)

Resolved last night; uninstalled ALL preinstalled software HP, but also drivers for networking and graphics (ATI card also has an Audio HDMI output).

I let Windows install its complement of driver network, but replaced the ATI driver with the 8.911.3.1 version available here (http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/fire/Pages/fire_hp_win7.aspx).

I have troubleshooted the question using the "DPC latency Checker" available here: http://www.thesycon.de/deu/latency_check.shtml.

Read the entire web site, because it offers ideas on how bad drivers can influence the audio and video playback.

    Hope this helps someone.

  • Satellite L500-13V - his stutters and sometimes portable lock

His stutters all the other songs when playing music, stuttering sometimes results in the laptop locked up and stuck on the nasal sound. Only way to turn off is to remove the battery. Vista 64-bit installed. Nothing installed other that what came with the laptop.

Must be a driver issue, but no update.
Any ideas before returning for refund?

    Hello!

I checked the Web from Toshiba site and there I found a update the sound card driver. This driver is already installed?
In addition, the Web of Toshiba site shows me updating BIOS for Satellite L500. You should try this update, maybe it works.

Alternative I would try the Realtek audio driver directly. Maybe on the Web from Realtek site, you can find a newer version.

  • Since the last update of Windows, I have problems with iastor.sys dpc latencies...

... Technology Intel Rapid Storage Technology on my Ideapad Y560

Has been published since the last Windows Update (happened to autoamtically in the background ) I now have a few latencies.

It seems to come from the LatencyMon also says iastor.sys driver.

Tried to install the version the more recent but no luck. STIL have these DPC latencies every few minutes.

I also see the spike in ProcessExplorer and DPC latency.

How can I fix it (without breaking my Windows 7)?

Seems, I solved it, updated Atheroes AR9285 to 10.0.0.75 downloaded from http://www.atheros.cz/atheros-wireless-download.php?chipset=37&system=6

Lenovo should add these drivers to their download pages ;-)

  • The DPC latency is too high because of the storport.sys file in windows 8.

I tried reinstalling 3 times all with own re - installs (IE, delete all the content of the reader), but nothing seems to help. This causes serious distortions in periodic with her while playing or watching movies, which is very irritating. I have updated all drivers for the newest drivers possible, there is no security software on the system other than the one that came with windows.

Any help with this would be appreciated.

I found the solution - for my laptop (Lenovo model B575 1450, since 2011) individual - based on processors AMD E450 APU and southbridge SB850 chipset SATA/USB/PCI/PCIe.

I went to the Manager of Windows devices and found AMD driver SATA. It's specific hardware AHCI driver who speaks for the SB850 southbridge and driver chipset Microsoft storport.sys storage system generic interface.

I rolled back the high driver AMD AHCI IDE, version of April 2014 of AMD Catalyst Drivers 14.04, in the version of April 7, 2010 from AMD Catalyst Drivers 10.04, the CPU and the LAG went away, that the process "Interruptions" happened to consume 80-90% of the base, at 5-8% of a carrot!

  • Periods of high disk latency

Hello - I just moved to a new company and I am working on virtualization of most of the servers here. It's a small IT shop with 20-30 servers. I bought 3 new HP DL380 G7 servers and I have about half of the 20 converted physical servers. I noticed a problem that appears and it seems random times.

There are 2 tables (13 6 disks raid, raid 5 disks 5) 2 luns, a VMFS shared LUN between the 3 servers. This is on a HP P2000 G3 FC SAN (already in place before). Every once and a while I notice latency of very high disk it seems that only on the LUNS on the Raid 5 array.

I've attached a screenshot of ESXTOP running on all servers ESX 3 showing the high latency. I can understand if there was a very high use but is not really yet everything going on at this time, as you can see on the screenshots. The tweak only I made so far is to increase the depth of queue to 64.

Brocade 8 GB HBA using hanging on the HP (Brocade) switches. Everything works to 8 GB and all readers of the San are 6 GB SAS.

I'm new on this and HP options without, came from one world IBM DS4xxx, so I do not know that how still to watch the performance on the SAN itself, the web interface does not have all followed what-so-ever.

    Any help is appreciated-

    Thank you

Well, I agree that it was a question of ownerhip lun.

The extent of maxing controllers, theres more to the issue than just flow.  Its actually very common on these lowend tables except if you make something trivial like a streaming the CPU controller will not be able to do in the face of a workload of IOPS / s high (or even moderate).  This isn't the bandwidth, it is the CPU on the controller.  His community does even more than you might expect on the bays of large companies (HDS USP, EMC Symm, etc.).

  • His stuttering of Satellite Pro A300

I bought this laptop for DJing, but I meet some latency issues.
Using the program of latency DSP it seems to stay most of the time 1000 microseconds.

I noticed than to disable bluetooth, improved wireless drivers that (just like the once flat processor?) but sometimes it returns something like 250000 microseconds, which is obviously unacceptable and causes a break in the music.

I read that it is a known issue with when the fan is used but can not say that I have seen all of the correlations for the moment.
Is there a way to get around this?

Or other someone can give me advice.

    Hello

I m not 100% sure what it could be, but I read somewhere that it s advisable to update the Driver Atheros Wireless LAN and Atheros Client Utility.
For the Atheros Wireless LAN Driver version should be 7.7.0.233.1 or more and by Atheros Client Utility 8.0.0.72.0 or higher.

Before install you these updates, remove old drivers of the system!

    Check it out!

  • Mini 311 his stuttering

    Hi all

I upgraded my HP Mini 311 supplied with Windows XP to Windows 7. Following the upgrade, I found that I have problems with my audio stuttering/jump. I tried to uninstall and install the drivers. I currently have the IDT High Definition Audio CODEC and NIVIDIA High Definition Audio drivers in my sound section of Device Manager.

    It drives me crazy.

This happens when the audio steam via podcasts, Pandora, etc..

I found a solution on myhpmini.com that I have posted it below for anyone else having this problem:

Here's a quick guide to solve the problem of stuttering.

    * WARNING * I take no responsibility if this your Mini fubars. Do this at your own discretion.

Open Panel-> Device Manager. Go to IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers. Choose the Nvidia nForce Serial ATA Controller.

Go to the tab click Update driver. Choose Browse my computer for driver software. Click on let me pick from a list of device drivers.

Select the Serial ATA Standard AHCI 1.0 controller. Click Next, Okay, or whatever he asks, and you're done.

The computer must restart twice - once for the controller and a second time to detect the hard drive.

  • Satellite A300 - his stutters when I enable Wi - FI turns

    Hello!

I am owner of a Satellite A300, and almost from the beginning, I noticed some occasional stuttering on the sound.

Really got me bugged with this question, and I tried several times to solve. I even got to the point of resetting the default computer. Sooner or later, the same problem started again.
I even started a thread in the media forum, without a solution for the bug. Even if I had a valuable contribution on an antivirus I've tried and I think is quite good, avira.

Let me describe more accurately 'symptoms:

    * I recently discovered, this annoying behavior isn't random.
    * The stuttering is repeated at the minute, all about the same second every minute.
    * This led me to suspect a certain type of hardware/software cyclical behavior.
    * I guessed the laptop components that could have this kind of cyclical 'check' could be wireless equipment, for example, searching for a kind of networks.
    * Immediately, I turned off the switch.
    * Waiting for this ' second marked "happen and to my surprise, the suttering did not.
    * WAIT a few minutes and the situation remained out of any disruption.
    * then I turned the switch back on and within seconds after 4 or 5, the suttering returned and again the minutes that follow, by the same second.
Does anyone have an idea what might be causing this problem?
I have to say that sometimes, I am able to have the switch on without problems. In this case (I think) when I start the system with the switch, wait until the system is fully elapsed, turn on the switch and start a had-hoc wifi network that I created on my laptop to share my computer with a dsl connection laptop here at home.

But right now, I booted the system with incidentally on switch (even got stuttering on the welcoming sound of windows) and in this session, I was not able to maintain the switch without the "bug", again. Even if I activate the had-hoc wifi network (i.e. activation worked on other times), I can't get the stuttering sound, without having to press the switch.

    See you soon!

    Hello

What are you writing about? Your laptop starts with windows media player playback music or how to understand this?

I have Satellite A300-1LI in front of me, and I tested it with Vista preinstalled original. Work on my Satellite I like listening to music or simply Internet radio. I can switch on / off WIFI, but there is no difference. Absolutely no sound stuttering.

Believe me, that's not easy to say why this happens. I do not understand why you write about the bug. Why my laptop doesn t have the same bug that your?

  • His stutters on Pavilion dv4-1120us

I had my Pavilion dv4 1120us for Christmas and put it in place. It is under Vista Home premium with SP1. I noticed that from time to time during sound playback slows and stutters for a few seconds and then the catch usually upward. He made cela hung together through its speakers and external speakers. The condition seems insensitive to changes in devices. I noticed that no special request is responsible for either. It occurred when streamming myspace and playlist.com, when watching a dvd in both media center, wmp and VLC, windows included during playback of CD and by practicing a game (total annihilation). I also noticed that the problem persisted even when I extracted decrease the number of processes ranging from 80 to 60 something.
I thought that the problem may lie simply in Vista and the bloat-ware that came on the computer. Today I inistalled dual-boot ubuntu and the problem is ongoing, as well as the headphone jack and speakers single switch with Vista (I think it's just a driver issue...), I would like to know how to solve the problem at least with Vista and with linux so would be good.
