Could not change the boot to the legacy mode (selection would not take) as suggested in another post. I need to find another card, or there at - it an easy solution.
I just flashed the BIOS w / updated and has been able to make the necessary changes on the Security tab.
Legacy - activated
Secure - start disabled
Running like a champ - thanks
BTW, I have to press the ESC key to enter the BIOS

any suggestions? for example a PCI card with s-video output?
Hello
Looking to capture input-output video or simply?
S-Video graphics cards are pretty much out of manufacturing. Search for a 9500 GT from NVIDIA if you want to output. MS Windows 8 shows compatibility with the 9500 GT from NVIDIA. There are several models of 9500 GT listed as compatible.

Failure of HP 700-056 of ram? 16 GB PNY XLR8 DDR3 1600 2 x 8 GB PC3 - 12800 Non ECC 240 p
I have a 700-056 want 64-bit running windows 8.1. After removing the original ram and substituting 16 GB PNY XLR8 DDR3 1600 2 x 8 GB PC3 - 12800 Non - ECC 240 p, machine does not start. Two attempts resulted in empty screens. When finally got error message, it was something about "invalid signature" or such nonsense no layman could never understand. This memory is supposed to be compatible with this machine. What new memory is deleted and reinstalled old memory, the machine functions normally. That is what it is?
Hello
First try and boot from the new RAM module 1 stick and see if it boots, if not then try the same procedure with the key, you don't try and see if it boots. Could be a faulty stick of RAM and if so, you will need to send it to the supplier.

HP ENVY 700-029eb desktop PC. Update to Windows not sure 8.1?
Hello world
HP ENVY 700-029eb-computer for office
Model: E3H39EAWindows 8
A question related to the following message on my HP computer:
-----------------------------
HP has not tested this PC with Windows 8.1
For this reason, HP is unable to update providence instructions or Windows 8.1 drivers.
You can now lose stability and basic functionality if you try to update your system.
-----------------------------A Windows 8.1 update could make the System unstable, so the message of HP.
But my computer is always busy preparing the update and guard asks me to do the 8.1 update.
So can I install Windows 8.1 safely on this computer? Or how to turn off the update?
We appreciate your comments and advice.
GuyterB1964, welcome to the forum.
I do not understand these messages. Here is the download page for software and driver for the computer. As you can see, all the drivers for win 8.1 are listed. They would not list them as much as they have not been tested. I see no reason not to do the update.
Please click on the Thumbs up button '+' if I helped you and click on "Accept as Solution" If your problem is resolved.

HP ENVY 700-049 will be not updated to Windows 8.1 - 0xC1900101 - 0 x 20018
I recently bought a HP Envy, office 700-049 and have updated to the most recent Windows 8. I re-downloaded and installed all the drivers for Windows 8 listed on the support page. I disabled the LAN wireless in Windows (no way to do it in the BIOS I can say). After that, I went to the App Store Windows and ran the 8.1 update. The machine restarts and begins to set up the devices, but stops before the end with the SYSTEM_THREAD EXCEPTION NOT_HANDLED error.
On reboot I give myself
0xC1900101 - 0 x 30018
It appears in Google... and I tried common recommendations (install updates, install the latest driver, disable WLAN)... y at - it additional suggestions or I'll just have to hang tight on MS to fix this?
My wrist is tired of bouncing over the shortcut bar. :-)
Kind regards
-Tony
Obviously, make sure you have the latest drivers and updates installed... but I managed to get through there.
I'm pretty sure that the Ralink Wireless card is the culprit.
In addition to the steps I have described here above I have disabled the integrated graphics card. Also, I was going through a KVM. I hooked the mouse, keyboard and monitor directly in... using the graphic adapter PCIx. But I suspect that the following was "the miracle."
I had a set of screwdrivers on a small scale and a pair of pliers and took the Ralink wireless out. It's just "above" where is the PCIx graphic card. This screw was really in there... Please be very careful not not to strip out. Once the screw is out, it appears out of the slot. I just hid it near bays of drive.
With the offline wireless the 8.1 update succeeded.

HP envy 700-210xt 8.1 windows update windows PC bsod crash
I've been running my desire 700-210xt with Win 8.1 almost without fail until about a week ago. Windows Update tried to install an update that caused my PC go into a bootloop. I was unable to perform a recovery of windows, startup repair, refresh, repair installation, no matter what. I ended up reinstalling Win 8.1 from scratch. I went another 2-3 days or more without a problem, has received another but Windows Update, once again I have this exactly the problem. You guys have all problems like this? I'm not sure what update is causing this issue but plan to reinstall again... And suppose that disable updates until I can resolve what is the cause. Any ideas?
I was actually able to fix my problem with this command from within the recovery console cmd
DISM / image: C: \ / cleanup-image /revertpendingactions
found a similar problem in this thread which lead to know what to do. So well done to this guy... however. After connection back and check the available updates I came across KB2930275, an update... which, after googling, it was, causing problems just like that on Windows Pro 8.1 specifically. For now I'm good but shaped I'd share this update might be avoided.

HP ENVY 700-305no desktop PC: Bios update failure.
Long story short (a little).
I got a virus, is a virus really means, crypt all my files, prevents the opening of antivirus programs and redirects the downloads.
virus survives 3 reset factory, 3 hard drive formats, and a reinstall of Windows.
This leads me to believe that he himself got into the Bios of my computer.
so I downloaded the latest bios for my system, in this case
Update the BIOS HP consumer desktop PC (SSID family ROM 2AF3)
through the Setup program on another computer, I installed the update to the bios of my USB,
inserted in my main pc, held down the Windows and key B, while starting my computer.
This led beeps and my computer Wrooms, 10 minutes later, nothing happened.
I decided to start the installer directly from inside infected computer, but this resulted in a failure too.
say that the downloaded bios is not compatible.
What I'm asking is how I should go about the removal of the old bios (possibly) infected and reinstall it again.
I'm not aware of a way to Flash the BIOS in Ubuntu, but it might be possible if there is a wine app in the version you have. I have not experienced or read where someone else tried it either. You could ask for more in the Ubuntu forums. Don't know if it is possible to WIN PE 3.0 either.

System was delivered with 3 x 4 GB DIMMS, I added a 8 GB DIMMS and thought I was hapily using 20 GB of RAM!
HP Support assistance - bios auto update and a new motherboard later I found a software that took place previously (VMWARE) complained I didn't have enough RAM.
Windows says 20 GB (11.9 GB useful)
I'm going to buy a second 8GB Dimm thought I can pair 2x4gb and 2x8GB - slots are color coded for couples.
I've lived all combinations and still Windows says 24 GB (11.9 useful) unless I completely remove DIMMs to 4 GB - I straight go 16GB.
All four DIMMS must match though. I need 4x8Go to get 32GB - all other systems I've owned was satisfied with the match.
I suspect my motherboard has a bad slot replacement sort but haven't 4x4GB DIMM to prove that.
Any help would be great!
Thank you, FITCS.
Thanks - I'll let it pass and go buy an enthusiast/Gamer box where I can more easily Exchange components.
Just to say it again if - memory passes all tests memory BIOS - tool diag HP short and long tests. So the BIOS suggests that it is happy. It isn't okay that suggests the test BIOS does not use memory in the same way as Windows 8
The BIOS provides much less control than I'm used to-when I migrated to the new machine, I'll see what I can do with the upgrade of the BIOS and the violin bit more.
It does not matter what combination of I put two DIMM memory slots, I see and can use all of it. Only when I arrived on the 3rd slot & 4th I have problems.
One mistake I've seen during this process is the tool display options diag showed the 4 slot for wrong info but a relocation has taken care of that.
I appreciate all the answers - if she get finally work DIMM 4 slots I'll answer here with how it was done. Although, I'm not going to buy another 4 x 8 GB DIMMS to test the manufacturer of memory as being the issue.
Great to see HP have such a vibrant community and customer service - (thank you Lorraine! I don't think I've fully recovered since the updates to the BIOS has failed, but the service was stellar!)

HP Envy 700-056: remove the icon "Get Windows 10.
I have the icon 'Get Windows 10' but I don't want that. I tried 10 Windows on this machine twice with disastrous results both times. My machine is not compatible with Windows 10, I don't like HP or MS has to say. Is there a way to remove the trigger that maintains this icon in place and continues to try to download and install Windows 10?

HP Envy 700-056: cannot get new video card to work tried everything I can find
I tried everything I can find on the web. I bought a new motherboard. I tried 6 different video cards styles and models all different. I recently found a message thread that says the Radeon R7750 worked on the exact same computer so I advanced and you bought it. Still nothing. I did the stuff of all secure boot and legacy stuff and I'm just at my wits end with this dang computer. All other HP I have works with every video card, I tried. Just not this one. What should I do.
V80.52 revision JA2 BIOS date 11/11/2014
Card mother 500-214In fact, I did what you said and did the job.
I took out the card
Reset the BIOS and Windows startup settings
Is off the computer
Turned on the computer and changed the settings of legacy support
Started in Windows and then close
Installed the card and bam, it worked.
Very happy camper here. Thanks for your help.

Hello world!
Recently I bought a HP Envy 700-230ae PC (I7-4770, 16 b of ram, 2 TB, AMD Radeon R9 270), and type of, I now regret buying it.
I have a few question, I think change power for this PC, seeking power supply Corsair 750watts but only concern is that I'm not sure it fits in this case, any suggestion about the power supply must be min 600watts + (due to longer will graphics card) and fully modular prefferebly!
Also, I want to update a graphics standard R9 270 of 2 GB of memory, something as NVIDIA 770/780 graphic map of the subject 2-4 GB of memory, so need to be compatible with the standard motherboard this PC has (Hewlett-Packard 2AF3) or there will be problems with the power supply electrical installation and GPU?
IF none of these things can be changed it would be easier just to the buyer a case (NZXT H440) and it just buy new PSU, GPU and card mother, as well as RAM eventually!
Please help me, really appreciate it!
Thank you!
Unk0wnPr0, welcome to the forum.
Corsair 750W (PSU) power should work properly. The best way to be sure is to measure the existing PSU and compare the measurements to the one you choose. A modular power supply is a good choice, since it is sufficient to use the necessary cables. This allows for better air circulation.
770/780 GTX graphics cards that I looked at are 10.5 "long. It is doubtful that either will be insert in the space provided. You can make a model, the length of the card and try it in space. It should fit all by allowing room for a good air circulation. Air flow is very important, especially when the games. Components tend to be warmer than normal.
