8 Firefox crashes constantly using the Blackboard?
It's to the point where I downgraded to Firefox 7.0.1. Any time I try to publish or make any changes to a post using Blackboard, Firefox crashes. On several occasions. Sometimes so often that I can't close the tab problem before it crashes again. Best I can tell it is a problem with Java and FF8.
You may have a problem with the updated Java for Mac.

Hi xPLAGUEx
This could be a problem with your graphics display driver.
What graphics card to display that you have?
Try disabling hardware acceleration in Firefox.
- Tools > Options > advanced > General > Browsing: "use hardware acceleration when available.

Sometimes a problem with Firefox can be a result of malware installed on your computer, you may not be aware of.
You can try these free programs to search for malicious software that work with your existing anti-virus software:
- Microsoft safety scanner
- MalwareBytes' Anti-Malware
- Anti-Rootkit utility - TDSSKiller
- AdwCleaner (for more information, see this other AdwCleaner download page)
- Hitman Pro
- ESET Online Scanner

Firefox worked earlier today (August 19, 2013 6:30 pm EDT). When I opened Firefix after it IS 9, Firefox has attempted to perform an update. No error was given, but now Firefox does not start. Run a Windows 8 machine with all the updates and current security with no malware known on my system software.
When I try to start Firefox, the system shows the circle of"work", but then nothing. I created a new profile and got Firefox to start, but whenever I try to go to a website, Firefox crashes.
The last 2 reports of incidents of today:
InstallTime20130814063812 (content: 1376962029)
LastCrash (content: 1376969373)Firefox IS working with Windows 8 in Mode safe (I got a message saying Firefox had not been closed properly) with a new profile. If I used an existing profile, Firefox would start and then close when I went to ANY website or any just not start. I shouldn't be no CRASH REPORT has been generated, just a code updated in the LASTCRASH file.
I have created a new profile, turned off all plugins, redonfigured my security suite of network to start automatically and restarted normally. When Windows came, I launched Firefox with the new profile, went to a few sites only to confirm it worked and then activated the security suite. No problems. I then reactivated some of my plug-ins. I had problems again when all the following plugins have been re-activated:
-- Java Development Toolkit 7.0.250.16 10.25.2.16 -- RealDownloader Plugin 16.0.2.32 -- RealNetworks RealDownloader 1.3.2.28 -- Shockwave for Director
With these off and the new profile, FIrefox is now working normally. Thank you!

Computer crashed recently, used the version 3.6.15, now with 4.0, how do I bookmarks from the previous version that was on the old computer. All files of this computer on the new computer under HD1?
bookmarks.html contains no bookmarks, this file is no longer used to store.
Are you sure you're looking in the right folder, you are possible to search in the installation of Firefox rather than the profile folder folder. The following link provides details on the location of the profile folder - http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox
If you do not find places.sqlite you may not have access to your old profile folder.

I have to constantly move to prevent the browser from hanging for most of the web sites and especially you tube, I have done all the suggested fixes and nothing works. That is to say. Firefox deleted, deleted all the files in the programs, local applications, etc. Download the latest, not made any customizations and I have a question. However, when you use the Task Manager to see if the CPU or memory was something I noticed until the task manager has been refreshing, the ongoing browser without hanging, it's like when an interruption of the system produces the browser continue as if I were to continue to move. Windows 7 with the latest patches.
I have a second PC, win 7, with the same version of Firefox, no problem at all.Hello, TheViking, several other affected users have reported that it was a problem caused by malicious software on their pc.
Please run a full scan of your system with the free version of malwarebytes and adwcleaner (these two security tools are free). -

I'm sorry you have problems with Firefox crashing. These accidents are all because Firefox is short-term memory. Please try the following article:

Accident id also does not work, and does nothing when I ask for more details.
Hey,.
well, it is a known incident, please try the following (he reported to work for some users):
You will have to perhaps restart Firefox for it to take effect, so save any work first (e.g. you compose mail, documents online that you are editing, etc.).
Then perform the following steps:- Click on the orange top left Firefox button, then select the 'Options' button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to tools > Options.
- In the Firefox options window, click the Advanced tab, and then select 'General '.
- You will find in the list of parameters, the checkbox use hardware acceleration when available . Clear this check box.
- Now restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.
In addition, please check the updates for your graphics driver by following the steps in the following knowledge base articles:
Update your graphics drivers to use hardware acceleration and WebGL

Now, Firefox crashes only all the time
Firefox has slowed to a crawl... taken advice on the support page to delete and rename the file "places.sqlite" in Manager files in Firefox. Now Firefox only crashes all the time. guess my decision to go back to the Explorer was made for me... can not solve the new versions of FIrefox crashes, slowness, errors... now only breaks down and the "places.sqlite. old"file I saved is gone now, so cannot yet go back to it...
Firefox does not work at all... ?
Sorry to hear about the accident. If you get the Mozilla Crash Reporter form, your Firefox could have registered some data that would help to find the cause of the problem. You can submit these data to Mozilla and share with the volunteers of the forum to see if it points to the solution. Please check the support article "Firefox blocks - ask for help" to get the procedure to get these crash report IDs since the topic: block the page and then after the most recent here.
Note: If Firefox is not stable enough to use the subject: page crashes, the article also describes how to check for submitted crash IDs disk report.
Also, and/or at the same time, could test you mode without failure of Firefox? Which temporarily disables extensions, hardware acceleration, and a few more advanced features of Firefox that could make it more prone to crashing on some systems.
Does not work if Firefox: Hold down the SHIFT key when you start Firefox.
If Firefox is running: You can restart Firefox in Mode safe mode using either:
- button "3-bar" menu > "?" button > restart with disabled modules
- Help menu > restart with disabled modules
and OK reboot.
Two scenarios: A small dialog box should appear. Click on 'Start mode safe' (not update).
Any less crashy?

You see accidents even after uninstalling Flash on your computer and run Firefox in safe mode? Your response seems to indicate that, if want to confirm that.
If this happens, can you please send us the data from accident to accident too. If this is not related to Flash, and then view the accident data will help narrow down the root cause.
- Enter Subject: hangs in the Firefox address bar and press ENTER. A list of submitted Crash reports will appear, similar to the one shown below.
- Copy the 5 most recent report IDs that begins with a bp - and paste them into your response here.

Firefox crashes immediately at the opening after a new update.
I can't open it in safe mode.
There is no new incident reports in the folder of Mozilla/Firefox/Crash Reports or "pending", or "subject".
The error message reads "Firefox has stopped working".
I also tried to reinstall nothing doesn't.Discovered that the 'kdump.dll' is a file used by my anti-virus software Kingsoft Antivirus. I have disabled Kingsoftand now I can use Firefox, then there obviously a conflict between these two software. Please notify someone responsible for Firefox coding in order to tackle this problem so that I can use these two programs simultaneously.

I have restored the pc to factory a couple of times now, hoping it might fix the problem, but it is persistent...
Windows Explorer crashes often and sometimes it seems that the problem has disappeared, but then it happens randomly. When I restart the Explorer usually just, it freezes again and gives me the same error permanently after each restart of Explorer... it just crashes, restarts, block immediately, restart and so on...
I don't know what to do. I'm not much of a geek...
The thing is, the problem occurs only after you have installed programs. Not directly after the time I restore settings, is probably not a hardware problem (I think).
Still, I installed an antivirus before anything else.
First of all, I tried Comodo several times. Then Avira. And now I'm with AVG. Thus, all the programs I download should be good.Side note: programs Evernote who install are all widely used programs like CCleaner, Skype, iTunes, Chrome,... All of their own websites, so I do not understand how they are the problem.
Is it possible that this is a problem material, even when the problem occurs only after you have installed (well known) programs?
How to fix this problem?
Here is the message that comes up with the error:

Firefox crashes immediately after the upgrade
We updated firefox to the latest version the week last in a small number of the PC in the office. After the upgrade, Firefox continues to fail at the launch. Create a new Firefox profile does not help. This problem occurs with other users that connect on the same machine. Uninstalling and reinstalling does not help. Safe mode not working anymore. It's just a continuous loop to break and we cannot go beyond it.
The two machines with the problem so far under Windows 7 64-bit.

Do a clean reinstall and delete the program folder before Firefox to (re) install a new copy of the current version of Firefox.
- Download the full Firefox installation program and save the file to the desktop
https://www.Mozilla.org/en-us/Firefox/all.html
If possible to uninstall your current version of Firefox to clean the Windows registry and settings in the security software.
- Do NOT remove the "personal data" when you uninstall your current version of Firefox, because this will remove all profile folders and you lose personal data such as bookmarks and passwords including data profiles created by other versions of Firefox.
Delete the program folder Firefox before installing newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
- (32-bit Windows) "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\"
- (Windows 64 bit) "C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla.
- It is important to remove the Firefox program folder to delete all the files and make sure that there is no problem with the files that were the remains after uninstallation.
Your bookmarks and other personal data are stored in the Firefox profile folder and will not be affected by a uninstall and (re) install, but do NOT delete personal data when you uninstall Firefox which removes all Firefox profile folders and you lose your data.
If you keep problems also create a new profile.
