802.11 n WISN and WCS support

That is the new wless 802.11n standard is current cargo support Cisco WLC 44XX and WISN (6500 wireless controller card)?

Also, I need to know if is is supported in the WCS 4.1?

Hi Pierre,.

Yes, 802.11n is supported on the WISN and WCS with the following versions of the 4.2 train;

Release notes for the controllers wireless LAN Cisco and Points of light access for version 4.2.61.0

http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/docs/wireless/controller/release/notes/crn4200.html#wp302677

The following new features are available in the 4.2.62.0 WCS

802.11n support - the introduction of the series access Cisco Aironet 1250 point, access of the class point business based on the IEEE 802.11n standard some 2.0 standard. The access point provides combined data rates of up to 600 Mbit/s to meet the bandwidth needs. Cisco WCS displays include a list for configuration, management and monitoring 802.11n access points and their associated wireless LAN controllers.

The new trains WLC and WCS 5.0 are now released as well :)

I hope this helps!

    Help!

I intend implementation of 10-15 s AP in my company. I don't need a lot, but I want a ssid and the ability to walk between access points without losing the connection. The cost is a little problem as well. In my view, there is an area called 2.13 to express the Cisco Wireless LAN Solution. Now this box as terribly cheap. Makes me wonder. Every time I thought a lot about this, I so with the price of the WCS of 25 reviews 4400, 7 times the price upward. Now, I've been Googling my fingers numb, but I can't really know what is distinguished by a wcs and wlse solution. Can I use this box of Cisco Wireless LAN Solution Express 2.13 at little cost only a PoE switch and some radio stations? Or do I have as well a 6500 with a controller wlse switch? because then; the 4400 would be cheaper.

    Appreciate the help,

    \\mark

    Hi Mark,

This is a big topic of discussion! Haha, I hope I can help with some basic information. The two solutions as you watch (WLSE vs WLC/WISN/WCS) are for two different architectures wireless. The WLSE is for 'stand-alone' access points, and the WISN/WLC/WCS are all for "lightweight" access points

The fundamental difference between the two is that autonomous architecture is a distributed design, while the lightweights are centralized. Here are some details:

    AUTONOMOUS

Each access point runs any himself. It must be set up individually for all SSID and VLAN. A WLSE device can be used to manage multiple APs via SNMP, but it's a manual process. A WLSE can also help the management of radio, as the channel design, but it is still a very manual process.

    LIGHT WEIGHT

Access points are not individually configured. They must join a wireless LAN (WLC) controller to operate. They can find the controller automatically, and when they do they download a configuration. They work with the help of the controller. The controller takes the information of all the APs and adjusts dynamically the channels and power radio as needed to optimize the network. The WLC is the only device that you need to manage since it manages all the APs for you.

It's a view VERY high level of the two models. Long story short, stand-alone solutions require usually more work to manage, and lightweight demand less. You are just looking to run 10-15 access points, so a light solution probably won't pay off as it would if you were installing 100 +. This does not mean that you don't have light, but it might not be useful the extra cost.

Once again, very complicated subject and I hope that gives you a better understanding that will help you when Googling. Try Googling light autonomous vs, you'll find some good articles.

  • HP and HP Support Assistant update

Is it necessary to have and use the updated HP and HP Support Assistant?  HP Support Assistant does not have everything HP Update done more more? It seems that HP Support Assistant was created to replace HP Update.

    Hello:

    I agree with you.

The support assistant is a program that includes the search for updates and other features such as air upward, etc..

I see no need for both (in fact, I see no need of either).

I mean this... I would like to change the default value of the assistant to support the definition and automatically download and install updates. I read where this thing was running updates the BIOS in the background while people were working on their PC with antivirus running programs, etc., than to have bad things happen.

If you like the support Wizard, my recommendation is to change the setting to warn and let me choose which updates to install - or what is the closest option to the default.

  • BIOS and HP Support Assistant?

I am a little appalled and would like to know what is happening with the updated Bios and HP Support Assistant.  To visit this forum, I came to the conclusion that we should NOT allow the HPSA download and install the updates to the Bios.  Is this true and if so, what do you do to solve this problem?  Unfortunately, I learned that this HPSA AFTER put to update my Bios to a version that is not listed for my laptop.  Unfortunately, not a not inform me on what I should do after it has happened.  Should I try and "exploded" my Bios?  Or leave?  I appreciate all help.  I now f.2bs and according to the download site for my model number, I use f.0Une.  My laptop is a Pavilion DV6T-7000 Quad Edition A5F76AV.

Problem solved.  I decided my BIOS of backflash called for on site support (drivers and downloads).  Everything is fine and it even fixed some Diagnostics UEFI.  After seeing things, I found that HPSA does not have a very good job of distinquishing your operating system.  In my case, whenever HPSA tells me an update of the BIOS, it applies generally to 8 Windwos.  I am running Windows 7.  Meh.

  • WISN and Group RF problem

We have on WISN version 4.0.155.5. We have set up a group name of RF for two controllers in the WISN and use auto-RF. The problem is each controller can be seen in the RF group and considers himself to be the head of the RF group. My understanding is everyone should see two controllers of the RF group and only should be the head of the RF group. Where could be the problem?

I posted the following in your other thread:

You still have APs on the two WiSMs? They will see only other members of the RF group who have APs related to them. I had the same issue, but when I moved 1 AP for each group of WISN the RF came up as planned.

  • WLC, WCS and WCS Navigator

I would like to know what is the difference between wireless Lan controller and controller wireless system.

I need WLC if I want to deploy WCS.

Can I use WCS without wireless LAN controllers?

What is the diference between WCS and WCS Navigator?

And just to add WCS navigator is used to group multiple instances of WCS. This would serve in a very large deployment (in thousands of controllers).

  • Web authentication WISN and COMMENTS

I have a WISN and we use open web Cisco

    authentication with a user's e-mail address.

    When executing this CLI command:

    > config network secureweb disable

    > save config

    > the system

This will make the web authentication come HTTP instead of HTTPS?

This command is for managing the unit.

However it used to be a workaround when you disable HTTPS and SSH and you restart the WLC web authentication will be displayed as http and not https.

Let me know if it works for you

    Yes.

  • Just bought a Nikon d750 and confused about adobe LR4 and PS6 support for RAW files. I have 8.7 DNG, but I was wondering if LR and PS will import direct soon thanks for all the tips

Just bought a Nikon d750 and confused about adobe LR4 and PS6 support for RAW files. I have 8.7 DNG, but I was wondering if LR and PS will import direct soon thanks for all the tips

Support for the Nikon D750 was introduced in the last version of LR 5.7 and ACR 8.7 Novemder 18 2014.

New updates for LR 4 were arrested when LR 5 was released on June 9, 2013. No other updates of bug fixes and new camera support.

Nada, LR 4 will never support Nikon D750. The Nikon D750 was introduced on the market in September 2014 some 15 months after further development of LR 4 was arrested.

You can use the Adobe DNG (free download for packing) program to convert your Nikon D750 Nef (raw) files in Adobe's DNG format which will allow you to import those into LR 4. This is the crutch provided by Adobe to allow the processing of raw files with versions out-of-date LR and ACR.

You can also update the ACR for PS CS6 version 8.7 plugin that can also work with the raw files of the D750. For direct support in Lightroom, you will need to upgrade (paying) to version 5.7.
