OK, let's try the following: open a session as long as administrator, then open the Explorer.  In the address bar type: 'c:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\SPOOL\PRINTERS' without the quotes.  The system can give a UAC prompt, say yes to a command prompt to get access.  After getting access, you could the things above in the command prompt (as you should now be able to access the Director).  Alternatively, you can use Explorer, when you get to the deletion of folder c:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\SPOOL\PRINTERS the *.spl and *.shd files.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8610: Try to install the full software concludes printer, but the IP address is the address of the router, not the printer

I tried several times to remove printer, uninstall the drivers, reboot, reset the printer to the factory, etc. without success.  I even went into the registry and deleted the printer reference as much as I could.

Please note I know how to connect the wireless printer and did successfully to the router with IP 192.168.1.108.   The problem is that the installer will search for a printer on the network and detects the 8610, but it appears with the IP address 192.168.1.1, which, of course, fails to install correctly.

How can I get the dialog box to see the printer with the CORRECT IP ADDRESS?

Well, I gave up trying to connect wireless and connected the printer with an ethernet cable.    Re-installed software that went much smoother, but still showed printer with IP router when you try to add it.   I chose "other devices" and is manually entered IP ethernet.

    Everything works now, including scanning.

I think that the new router (for satellite internet) blocking a port that is required to complete the driver installation.   I had to add a switch to have an additional ethernet port to connect the printer.

It was NOT a good experience.   I had a lot of practice of deleting, downloading, installation, configuration of the HP printer again and again well, therefore perhaps not all a lost cause.

I had this printer established and working finefor several months.  It is connected to a docking station for laptop by USB, but I was able to print wireless from a variety of devices.  Recently, somehow I lost the ability to print wireless.  The blue wifi indicator is turned over.  When I try to reset through the menu, it gives me a message stating that "" built in features have been disabled.  Contact your administrator or the person who installed the printer.

That would be me... I makes no changes to the system or settings.  I succumbed to get past this message.  Have you tried the factory reset, through the interface of the HP laptop, etc.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8610 webization Service

I can't get the Web Services enabled PC or printer which Scans/Prints fine on the wireless network.

The only advice I can see relates to the 8600.

    Hello GeoffZ,

Welcome to the Forums of HP's Support.  I understand you get a connection error message when you try to activate your printer Officejet 8610 web services.

Please define Manual of the printer an IP address manually and DNS servers by following the steps below.

    1. Please enter the IP address in the address bar of your browser (Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox or Safari).  My screenshots below are Safari, but the location of everything is the same regardless of the browser.  When you enter the printer's IP address in the browser, it must implement the web server integrated for your printer.

    2. Click on the network tab.  You should see the summary of network for your printer. Please click Wireless 802.11 in the menu on the left side.

    3. Please click on "Configure IPv4"

    4. Please click the radial button next to "Manuel IP" then click on the button 'Suggest a manual IP Address'.  The manual, manual IP subnet mask and default gateway of manual must complete for you. Please click the radial "manual DNS Server."  Please enter manual 8.8.8.8 for the preferred DNS server of manual and 8.8.4.4 for auxiliary DNS.  What are the Google public DNS servers.

    5. Please click on 'apply '.  If you get a warning message about changing the IP address please click on 'OK '.
    6. Please turn off the printer by the power button on the printer.  Please wait a minimum of 15 seconds and then turn the printer back on.
    7. Please press the ePrint icon in the lower left corner of the front panel of the printer.  This should encourage you to accept the terms of service.  Please choose "accept."
    8. When you are prompted on the automatic updates, select 'yes '.  The printer should now display the HP logo, while the printer communicates with the HP servers.  Print the information sheet of web services with your printer application code.

Please let me know how it goes.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8610: Cannot remove my printer

    Hi all

I tried to remove my printer (it did not work, so I tried to reinstall).

I went into the control panel of configuration/printers, then right-click on my printer and press 'delete device '. The icon became gray and it has been like this for 3 days now. You can see on the bottom, it says ' status: removing device "."  I can't reinstall (does not recognize the printer).

How can I get rid of this?

I uninstalled all the HP software and delete a bunch of registry entries on the 8610. It's still there...

    Thanks for your help!

Welcome to the HP community @Felix_B,

I read your post about the troubles you are experiencing remove the printer from your Windows 10 system, and I hope that I can help you with questions. I think it could be stuck print jobs in the print queue, so recommend some things to try to get over there.

Please start by trying the following steps:

    Step 1: Check print spooler:

    source

    1. Open your screen to Start by clicking the Windows button on the lower left side of your computer screen or by selecting the Windows key bottom left of your keyboard, to the right of the Ctrl key
    2. In the start screen, type run
    3. Click Run to launch the run dialogue box
    4. In the run box, type services.msc and click OK
    5. When the Services window opens scroll down until you see the print spooler
    6. Click Print Spooler once just to highlight
    7. If you Start in the upper left corner that indicates that your print spooler is actually stopped (not good). But we will leave that for now.
    8. If you stop or restart in the upper left corner, this indicates that your print spooler is actually started. Please click on stop to stop the service momentarily.
    9. Reduce this window which will allow us to come back here

Step 2: Check the spooler folder:

    1. Reopen your splash screen
    2. Computertype. Click on the computer (or on This PC) when it fills so
    3. In the computer window, select your Drive C
    4. Click on Windows
    5. Click on System32
    6. Click on the reel
    7. Click PRINTERS. You can get permissions to a warning, just continue beyond that.
    8. PRINTERS of the folder must be empty. If there is no file here, they are corrupt print jobs. Right click on anything in that folder and 'delete' files.
    9. Close the PRINTERS folder

Step 3: Start Spooler and audit dependencies:

1 open the Services window we previously minimized

    2. click on print spooler to highlight

    3. click on Start in the upper left corner

    4. If you get an error message please take note of this

    5. If the print spooler starts successfully you will see "stop and restart" as your options at the top left

    6. then, double left click on print spooler. A print spooler properties window is now open. Click the connection tab at the top. Can you please make sure that it is set to Local System account and make sure that the check box is selected to "Allow the Service to interact with desktop".

    7. then click on the tab "dependencies". Please check which dependencies are listed. I need to know this if the problem persists when you have completed the steps I provide in this post.

    8. click on apply and OK for any changes that you have made the log tab. Close the Services window.

Now try to access devices and printers and try to remove the printer.

I hope this helps, and if you have problems, please let me know and I'll do my best to help you. If these steps helped to solve the problem, click Accept as button Solution at the end of my post here please.

Will testify of our help in the forums by clicking on the thumbs up this message below!

I bought an Officejet 8610 5 months and it has worked very well - so far.  It is continually being disconnected and I questions online.  Most of the time, I need to powercycle the 8610 and it usually comes online.

3 PC, iphone, iPad 2, all work very well on wireless environments

HP Print & Scan doctor sees no problem

Can you try using a TCP/IP port?

  • DeskJet Pro 8610: DeskJet Pro 8610 Windows XP error

I had problems with the operation the 8610 Officejet Pro Windows XP. Whenever I try to print a test page, I just get a generic error asking me to start the troubleshooter, which does absolutely nothing. It only gives me an error of sorts. I have chekced the error log and it tells me that it is the printer driver. I re-installed the printer using different drivers and nothing seems to work.

The same problem happens if I install the printer on a server and try printing from XP. I'm going to rebuild the machine, but I don't know if it will work either. Is there a work around, I really want to have to rebuild every XP machine, whenever we get an HP printer.

    Thank you for your help.

I thought about it. I think just the HP driver on their site doesn't work with XP anymore. I used an older CD for an HP 8600 printer, and which seems to have done the trick. Thanks for your help.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8610: HP 8610 - check printing order

HE CAN NOT FIND 'SWITCHES' TO CHANGE THE PRINTING ORDER.

    Control Panel

    QuickBooks Pro

    ... File

    ......... SHAPE: Check/cheque

    ............ Options

NO option to change the order of printing on any tab

This option existed.  What has changed?

Deskjet 6980 driver is compatible with the Officejet Pro 8600 series (including the 8610) and provides the order of the pages, but also of the other missing features of the Officejet Pro driver 8610 including:

    • Order of pages
    • Resizing options, including the page scaling in percent or adjust.
    • County of copy (with Assembly option)
    • Image mirror (for printing T-Shirt transfer or stickers)
    • Watermarks
    • Tip of color (the color, Saturation and brightness, the individual sliders for CMYK tone)
    • Overspray
    • Drying time

The Deskjet 6980 driver can be installed as follows (the instructions are for Windows 7, other versions would be similar): file devices and printers, click with the right button on the Officejet 8600, select Advanced, new driver, Next, properties of the printer, Windows Update, wait a while for the page to refresh, and then select the driver HP Deskjet 6980 (HP), OK.  It may be desirable to change the name back to Officejet Pro 8610: right click on the printer, the printer, the general properties, type the name of the desired printer, apply.  While, it may be necessary to activate the duplexer: click the device settings tab, set the duplex unit installed, apply, OK.

Install another printer driver will have no effect on scanning applications.

  • HP OfficeJet Pro 8610: HP settlement 8610 requires Attention, when you try to print 4 x 6 photos

    Good,

After reading so many others and worth that they have with this issue, I submit to you that this could be a serious problem.

I have an impression of this printer using any software problem, if I try to select the paper size of 4 x 6 or the "Photo paper" options in the printer settings.

The best part is the error message I receive Windows 8.1. It is said that the printer "to monitor". There is no pop up n the printer as a mistake and nothing in the screen "Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Devices and Printers\HP Officejet Pro 8610 (network)" on an error.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. And do not pull the shit 'check the paper tray' here... I checked about 12 hours of your support help documents and I'm tired of seeing this document as the solution to the problem. This is not it.

Also, I don't want to hear, which does not support the format of paper. The software driver has several options of stock of photo paper and several sizes...

What's next? That's what I want to know... What's next?

    Alrighty then...

I don't know what I did differently, but it seems to be the impression this morning. Totally weird, but happy that he woke up!

Thanks to all who have offered solutions...
