8730w BSOD when I have a plate of 2 GB and 4 GB of RAM

Hello.

I have an EliteBook 8730w with an Intel T9600 processor. My laptop came with a 2 GB RAM memory. When I'm spent in Windows7 64-bit I noticed that I needed more so I bought another plate of 4 GB of RAM (KT294AA). Now, I have 6 GB but once every 24-48 hours I get a blue screen suddenly, most of them when I shut down my computer. In the event viewer, I get:

I tested the plates of RAM with memtest, windows memory diagnostic and memory, BIOS diagnostic tool and they all passed without errors. I changed the plates between them without any success.

When I don't have the two plates, the computer works normally. The only thing that I was not able to do is to set a single plate location no. 2 because I get the message at startup that Intel AMT cannot start without a plate of RAM in slot No. 1.

I've updated to the latest drivers for Windows, BIOS, and AMT.

I installed HP Performance Advisor, and System Management BIOS data section in device memory information the unformatted length of plates differs the 4 GB 73 and the 2 GB 72.

Does anyone have a solution?

Thank you.

Then, you can choose between 4 GB or 8 GB. The problem is that Yes, the modules are compatible, but not necessarily in the configuration that you put the memory modules in.

Do you understand what I mean?
If you had bought a 2 GB module, if that's what you had initially, then you probably would not go through this issue.

You have chosen configuration, HP no.

If you've never built your own PC from scratch, you might remember that the motherboard still comes with a module configuration table memory which lists the modules acceptable configurations.

I guess that you inadvertently violated the acceptable memory module configuration table.

Best regards
ERICO

Doing a lot of brushing up on an image using Lightroom is known to have this problem. The first thing to try is to turn off the graphics acceleration (go to Preferences/Performance tab and then uncheck the box here). IF this does not help, then you can consider doing your brush in Photoshop Elements or Photoshop, instead of brushing in Lightroom.

Why is that when I have a group of texts, graphics, and rectangles selected, Muse will allow me to scale upward, but not reduce them?

I assume this has something to do with the size of the text boxes, but I'm not sure. Anyone can shed some light on this?

Yes, they are probably text boxes of your choice that will not reduce and maintain a minimum height according to the content/text inside. You can try deleselecting the block of text of your choice, and you notice that you are able to reduce their all as well.

  • NB550D - BSOD when connected to Wi - Fi

    Hi guys

I bought my NB550d year last to take the os on a school trip. Love everything about her, except for one thing. I'm going crazy trying to solve this problem. Any help would be great.

I constantly get a BSOD when I'm on the net. There is nothing that it freeze, abandonment, crash 10 times in 10 minutes. Often, I have to remove battery to reboot. I took it to the population of warranty but they said it worked well and charged me 1/4 of what the machine purchase cost for the privilege!

I went to China and it worked like a trooper bit no problem connecting to wifi it etc. He took on vacation no problems using my USB mobile internet. It made me rethink my router/modem (series 5200n billion) can be the question disconnected it and used my old 'G' router and separate modem worked well (does everyone else slow we can have 4 laptops connected at the same time) This reminds me of the wifi card is the question. I have the latest drivers etc, but still no joy. NO other laptop has this connection problem in our House (they are all toshibas)

Someone at - it suggestions as to the best way to solve this problem? Don't really want to go back with speeds etc for other users simply because mine is having a hissing fit.

Happy to replace routers cards etc but would like to know exactly who's going to solve the problem.

    Thank you

    Hello Narnie

On this virtual path is not easy to say what can be the problem. We put t know exactly the configuration of netbook, but with the settings, it should work fine.
For three months, I have NB550D-112 and it works perfectly with my home WLAN. No problem at all.

As I see that you also use mobile internet USB. I assume that you have installed additional software for this. Perhaps here is some conflicts. Who knows?
What we do here, it's just to speculate on your BSOD problem.

In my opinion, you should set your netbook to factory settings and test several days with your WLAN home and without having to install additional stuff except regular and important updates from Microsoft.

By the way: what BSOD error is shown?

  • Re: Satellite L300-1AP BSOD when installing Windows XP

I have a new L300-1AP and would like to intall XP Pro but when I try it I get the stop message 0x0000007b.

Made a new installation disc integrated with all updated sata drivers, I still get the message. I'm not sure about how I would install drivers of third party on the F6 function because it has not a diskette and cany to find how to do the same thing in a CD anywere.

I appreciate that we should all try to use the vista OS that came with it, but it is a problem of compatibility with older software that I use.

    Can anyone help please?

In the Microsoft Knowledge Base is an article about it:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/?scid=kb%3ben-us%3B324103&x=17&y=8

I think that there is something wrong with the SATA drivers. My Satellite L300 works with XP without problems or BSOD when installing.

The SATA drivers are in this package, and the Intel Storage Manager you can download on the Toshiba site.
You can create your own installation with nLite (http://www.nliteos.com/) disc.
If I have integrated the SATA drivers, you do not have to press F6. The HARD drive will be automatically recognized.

    Hello

Recover the laptop once more and test it using the new system recovered.
Of my knowledge year it causes might be related to drivers of software installed on the system, but since you do not have anything, I recommend the system recovery.

    Hello

I m a bit confused now... When you get exactly the BSOD? After complete installation of Windows or after that?
By the way: BSOD code what you get exactly?

I often read on codes of BSOD when installing XP so I guess that you didn't use the correct driver SATA. You need the Storage Manager to properly install Windows and you can find this driver on the Toshiba site.

By the way: you can also use the forum search to find similar topics.

I was wondering if Toshiba will relase a BIOS so I can use 4 GB or if anyone has managed to get their Equium working with 4 GB of RAM.

    Hello!

You have a BSOD when you use RAM as one or both? Test it with a single.

In addition, I think that the new RAM modules have a few errors, but you can test it with Memtest86. It is a special tool to test the RAM.
Download, burn to a CD/DVD and boot from it.
    http://www.Memtest86.com/

If the RAM has errors, I would go to the store to get a new one.

Unfortunately, even after the recent updates and updates the Microsoft Answers forum still does not prompt for any kind of information system when a new question is asked if we know anything about your system.  Not knowing the basic information a problem prolongs the frustration and the agony of these issues.

Maybe someday the dialog box 'ask a question' forums XP will ask these questions automatically when a new thread is started so I don't have to ask every time.  It might even be possible to solve a problem in a single response when enough information is provided.

Provide information on your system, the better you can:

What is your system brand and model?

What is your Version of XP and the Service Pack?

Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Symantec, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, MSE, Panda, Trend Micro, CA, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, Comodo, etc..

The afflicted system has a CD/DVD drive work?

You have a true bootable XP installation CD (it is not the same as any recovery CD provided with your system)?

If the system works, what do you think might have changed since the last time it did not work properly?

Can you make the system crash when you want
?  For example, you would say that there is no specific system activity that coincides with the accidents (like watching videos, playing games, etc.).

The next time your system crashes, provide more information on what you see.

Here's a BSOD example showing information you provide:
Send for the nose and the Red arrows (3 to 4 lines total).
Send all * line STOP message since there are clues in the 4 parameters.
If there is a name of the file listed in the STOP message, don't forget to include this information too.
Ignore the boring text unless it seems important to you.  We know what a BSOD looks like, we need to know what your BSOD looks like.
    Download BlueScreenView here:
Unzip it and run it (BSV installs nothing) and let him complete the digitization of all your crash dump files.
If you double-click on depressed, you will get information on it (including the field caused by the driver) and you should be able to spot the problem right away - especially if you see a model in landfills where Caused by field pilot is the same (beginning with this driver).
BlueScreenView tries to find the right driver or module that caused the blue screen by looking inside the stack of the accident. However, be aware that the driver detection mechanism is not 100% reliable, and you should also look in the lower pane, that display all drivers/modules found in the stack.
Select (highlight) one or more of the most recent dump files by clicking on them and hold down the CTRL key to select multiple files.  Try to select only the most recent links that relate to your problem (perhaps five or six to start dump files).
Click on file, save selected items and save information from the dumps to a text file on your desktop called BSOD.txt
.  Open BSOD.txt with a text editor, copy the text and paste it in your next reply.
Here's an example of report ASB to a single BSOD I initiated on purpose that indicates the cause of the accident as the pilot i8042prt.sys belonging to Microsoft Corporation:
