    Hi Donna,.

    Please contact Microsoft Community.

It seems that you are facing problems when opening e-mail attachments. It would be great if you can answer the following questions:

    2. the problem occurs for a specific file?

    3. you try to open the attachments Editor?

Yes, to PSE8, there is no way to use Thunderbird as a mail client. But as an alternative, you can export your photos to PSE8 and then can join these images as attachments to email from your Thunderbird e-mail client.

    I hope this helps.

  • Why doesn't apple mail attachments?

Dear sage & powerful masters of technology,

After a recent update, I'm afraid that my application of apple mail no longer accepts attachments.  I am running OSX 10.9.5.

Is there a way to fix this?

Also has anyone seen this problem?

What is the best way to solve this problem?

Thank you for your help and time.  Please let me know if I can be of any help to you in this or other issues.

What happens when you try to attach something?

If the problem is still there, try to start safe mode using your usual account.  Disconnect all devices except those necessary for the test. Shut down the computer and then put it up after a 10 second wait. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the SHIFT key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. Startup is considerably slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a check for directory and disables all start-up and connection, among other things. When you restart normally, the initial restart may be slower than normal. If the system is operating normally, there may be 3rd party applications that pose a problem. Try to delete/disable the third-party applications after a reboot using the United Nations to the Installer application or instructions to uninstall using the developer. For each disable/remove, you need to restart if you do them all at once.

  • Mail attachments disappeared with Sierra

After upgrading to the Sierra, attachments disappeared for all my encrypted emails (mime).

I don't see anything, just a question mark instead of the attachment in each email.

With a backup I re-imported again the mails, but it has not changed anything.

Is a bug of Sierra-ti? How to solve it?

    More information:

I opened an e-mail with an attachment directly copied from my support of El Capitan and opened in the Mail of Sierra of doublecliking application. It worked perfectly, the attachment was visible.

I searched the same email in the Mail of Sierra application and attachment was more readable (just a question mark appears instead).

Conclusion: I thing that during the import of mailboxes, mail of the sierra is corrupting part of emails (.emlx) who are after import not more readable!

    Hi Sheri Meyers

Welcome to Microsoft Vista answers Forum!

I would like to ask a few questions to help us focus in the right place.

1 how long have you been faced with this problem?

    2. If it works well before?

    3. may I know what mail client do you use?

I have a few here that might solve the problem.

I suggest to disable anti-virus and check if you can send emails with attachments.

    Step 1:

If the problem persists, I would start the computer in safe mode with network and check if you are able to send emails with attachments, safe mode starts Windows with a limited set of files and drivers. Startup programs do not run in safe mode, and only the basic drivers needed to start Windows are installed that, follow these steps to start the computer in safe mode with networking:

1 restart your computer if it is running.

    2. tap on the F8 key after your initially on powers computer.

    3. Once you see the menu Advanced Boot Options, you can stop tapping.

    4. use the up/down arrow keys to highlight your selection.

    5. Select Mode safe mode with networking and press ENTER.

    6. you should see loading drivers and wait please.

    7. you should then be at the Welcome screen.

    8. connect to your computer using an account with administrator privileges.

    More information: http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/Windows/en-US/help/323ef48f-7b93-4079-a48a-5c58eec904a11033.mspx

Let's see now if you are able to send mails with attachments, if you are able to send emails, go to step 2 to perform a clean boot on the computer.

    Step 2:

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows Vista by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

How to run check and clean boot if you have the problem.

    1. click on start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.

    User account control permission

If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click on continue.

    2. in the general tab, click Selective startup.

    3. under Selective startup, clear the check box load startup items.

    4. click on the Services tab, select the hide all Microsoft Services check box, and then click Disable all.

    5. click on OK.

    6. When you are prompted, click on restart.

    7. after the computer starts, check if the problem is resolved.

If the problem is resolved, check what is the cause of the problem, referring to the link given below: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: Make sure to put the computer to a normal state in following step 7 in the above link

I can't open PowerPoint attachments in Windows Mail.

The error message says to "create an association in the.

The Associations Set control panel".  What does that mean?

    Two points:

    1. you must first be sure that you have an appropriate program installed
to open a file of this type. You have PowerPoint installed? Or the
Free PowerPoint Viewer? Otherwise, you must get one of these or some
    other compatible program.

    2. Once you are sure to have an appropriate program installed for
This type of file, you must ensure that the association for this file
type is properly configured. If following step 1 above means that you
install a program, it will probably set up the association for

  • Windows are always asking me to save e-mail attachments when I try to open them in the email. How can I stop this?

When I double-click an attachment in and by e-mail, whether it's a file pdf, Word, Powerpoint, Excel files, or anything else, it always opens a file save dialog box and I have to choose where to save the file first, before I open it. I'm used to just file open and then if I want to record I'll save slot in the document and save it. How can I change the settings so that's how are treated attachments? This problem is there for whatever else I'm looking for e-mails, whether through Hotmail or OWA... Thank you!

Thanks again for answering my question. I ended up reinstalling Google Chrome and it must have reset some default settings somewhere. I have more the problem to not try this last suggestion.
