  I had a problem with a computer that I just bought. It looks and works very well, but occasionally it freezes and only the cursor can still be moved.   I doubt, there is no reason why you need to Office 2013 or 16.  The vast majority of my clients use the 2010 version and some still use version 2000 with no problems at all.

  Try to remove one of the panels of the memory and see if the problem persists.  If this is the case, put it back in and delete the other to see if they then too.  If one of them does not demonstrate the problem, then the other is a problem.

  Thank you once again, Dexter - it was a Microsoft problem rather than a problem of HP, I finally found and installed the right fix MS and just installed the HP software - to be on the safe side, I only did the essentials of basic printing and left the other stuff for later.  And I'll report this "resolved" if I can find the button after validation!
