  A quick search reveals thisgreat KB on the configuration of the 9401. Looks like you want to have a task of digital output and a task of entry of the meter. With DAQmx you do not expliclitly all the dirrection for your two ports, just configure tasks and book and start them in the proper order so that DAQmx can set up the device before beginning to all tasks.

  I would be very careful when you use a line of digital output to feed an encoder. Each line of output is only really planned for 1-2 my current output.

• 9401 counting by quadrature encoder error

  I use a 9401 module in a chassis 9188 to measure the position of a tree in 1E6 County/rev. The signal is an AQuadB emulated from an AKD Kollmorgen servo drive. My problem is that when the player is turned on, the noise it makes picked up as very positive figures by the 9401. The player has outputs RS485 but my cable length is short and well armored, so I thought it would work very well. It is wired like this:

  9401 CTR1 channel

  A +: 9401 pin 20

  B +: 9401 pin 23

  GND: 9401 commune

  The cable shield: 9401 commune

  Is this product because the encoder signal is differential, or is my bet to the ground/shield OK? If I disable the encoder entirely the 9401 picks up a zero solid. Should I use a kind of RS485 converter to TTL?

  In addition to the advice of John to help protect against digital noise, I also recommend that it would be a good idea to convert the differential asymmetric TTL formally.  I had opportunities in the past where I had an ambivalent connection channel differential encoder of 5V to a DAQ card and often, it would work properly.  But there have also been moments where differential signals (-) were trying to drift over the other while being tied to the digital earth common DAQ, causing sporadic but strange counting behaviors.  At least that's the diagnosis I'm come up with at the time.

  These questions disappeared immediately and permanently after putting in a differential to the TTL converter.  Here is a link to the productI used (and then successfully reused on the following projects).  Just check the specifications of your particular differential signals compared to what this product is to spec'ed to manage.

  I have a couple of 9401 modules DIO for my cDAQmx and I want to use some of these lines as inputs to detect (and trigger) relay contacts.  On page 9 of the manual 9401, it shows how to convert essentially a + external 5 V signals and a set of contacts of the switch to an input signal correct 'TTL' (see the 'Dev 2"in attachment). My question is: what is a good value for this current limiting resistor?  I will plunge at least 4 channels of a current value in each module.  My first thought is to maintain the relatively low current (1-2 my), but since I send you these currents in a noisy environment of the electromechanical relays should I boost the current level up to avoid wrong signal?

• Voltage offset problems with the NO-9401 for PWM signal output

  I try to create a 20 kHz PWM signal to drive a motor control circuit uses the NI 9401 module in the chassis OR cRIO-9073. Generating the PWM signal works. For some reason, changes in shift of power as the market factor is increased. It is less effective for the engine, as you can imagine.

  The code I am using is the finder of the example, for the generation of PWM on an FPGA and is attached.

  I thought that it worked before but may have used the the NOR-9505 rather PWM output to test my circuit. It would be unreasonable for me to do this as a permanent solution.

  The problem can be summed up as: with an increase in the liability of the cycle the voltage line (offset) movement of the output signal in the negative (according to ADGE) Basic or down. The Vpp signal is correct and does not change. Against ticks from 0 to the maximum of 2000 ticks (duty cycle IN), the offset voltage shift is such that 100% the level of full voltage is 0V.

  Any ideas as to why this offset voltage shift that happens?

  Do not be dismayed, I worked on the problem. There was a connection problem - I thought I was logged in as reference Earth, but it has not been properly clipped.

• Generation of 8 kHz Square on OR 9401

  I am trying to generate a signal of 8000 Hz using a CDAQ and the NI 9401 chassis. I intend to use it to control the speed of my engine step by step through a driver, but I'm having some trouble by writing a VI to do this. I tried to use a VI express signal to generate the signal and dynamically converted into a Boolean table, but this failed. Any ideas how to do that?

  Hello AllanIL,

  a simple way is the continuous meter - Output.vi, you can find inside the finder for example, if the 9401 rests in a cDAQ it can used as a counter entry. The frequency can be changed, if the vi will be changed if a new value will be written inside the while loop, to the card.

• Connections of encoder with cDAQ 9401

  I hope that some of the experts here can help me with this as I am new to encoders. I want to make sure I connect this right but am finding conflicting information on this subject. I found this tutorialwhich shed some light on some things for me.  If I interpret it correctly, 9401 card that I use (with 9172 chassis) can provide 5 VDC needed excitement for the encoder on any unused line. However, I have seen a response to an applications engineer OR which suggests an external power supply is necessary to this thread.

  So my first question is if I need an external power supply.

  Secondly, I have an encoder with 8 sons and am a bit uncertain to know if I need to connect each of them for my angular position measurement, I don't see any reference to A', B ', Z' in the documentation I found. Here is the datasheet for the encoder I use, in line driver configuration (I think it's x 2).

  I have also attached a picture of the stitching and the configuration of the meter for this encoder for someone who won't get the full data sheet.

  In this case, as we have said before, this module won't be able to excite your encoder properly using digital lines. It will not be able to provide the full 5V on a given channel output. Also, since the input for your encoder voltage is 4.75V minimum, you will need an external power supply. Who will provide the adequate power to drive this encoder. As long as you can excite the encoder properly, this module should be good to read the signals and interpret them for angular position measurement.

• When I deleted a picture of my MacBook, why it also remove the external hard drive?

  So I tried to help my wife to free up space on his MacBook Pro by putting all of his photos on an external hard drive. After iPhoto slide the hard disk and wait 40 minutes so that he could transfer, I wanted to make sure it worked. I ejected the disk and then plugged in. Of course, all iphotos were still there. Just to be sure, I deleted one file in the folder on the computer's iphoto. I went to my shock and horror, the external hard drive, that it has been deleted it too! How is that possible? I've been scouring the Internet trying to retrieve this file with no luck. It was not in the trash. There is a tab "recently deleted". Time machine was not turned on. iCloud shows nothing. I can't download any software, because the computer is completely filled. How is it possible that by deleting this folder on the computer he did also leave the hard drive? AND it has not been saved in the trash? I have used PC, and whenever I need something in return, he was ALWAYS in the trash. And if I deleted something on the computer with an external hard drive connected, it would NEVER be removed from the external hard drive at the same time.   You used Time Machine at all? I see you say it was not on, but it never on and is at - it a backup Time Machine on the Macbook Pro?

• How to change back to SSD HARD drive?

  My mcbook pro comes with the original 500 GB of HARD drive. When he ran with a problem, I went to an apple repair shop. Problem was in the charts, and he suggested the HARD drive to be replaced by a 120 GB SDD. So it has been replaced, but the guy on the left HARD drive as a storage device. Could someone please give instructions to install the new OS to the SDS to lose all my data and the current configuration and it is also possible to install windows XP on the HARD drive and 10.  Either by the way, I got Windows 10 and XP shared with the SDS via parallels.   How to use an SSD with your HARD drive If you want to use an SSD as boot with your existing HARD disk drive, as the disk 'data', here is what you can do. After installing the SSD, you need to partition and format the SSD using disc utility disc. Then install OS X on the SSD. Once installed OSX boot from SSD. Startup disk preferences to set up the SSD as the boot volume. Open the preferences users and groups. Click the lock and authenticate you. Or CTRL - RIGHT click on your username account list in the sidebar and select Advanced Options in the context menu. You will see a field called "Home dir: ' on the far right, you will see an Edit button. Click on it. In the file dialog box, navigate to the location in house now located on the HARD disk (disk HARD/users/user_name /.) Select the folder, click the Open button. Restart the computer, as shown. When the computer starts, it will now use the home located on the HARD drive folder. Another more technical method involving the Terminal and the alias is discussed in depth here: using OS X with a SSD and HDD - Matt Gemmell configuration. It's my preferred approach because I can choose which records of the House, I want to on the HARD drive and I don't want to. For example, I like to keep Documents and library files on the SSD because I frequently access their content. Make sure that you keep the bootable system entirely on your HARD drive where you need it.

• My hp LaserJet 1022nw fails to analyze the download of the printer driver after that macOS Sierra upgraded.

  Open System Preferences > Printers and Scanners and select the print tab.

  Then the right or control click on the printer on the left then click: reset the printing system

• Seagate external hard drive / / no display

  Recently I bought a Portable Seagate 2 TB external hard drive for my MacBook Air. I put all my movies, music, ext documents on my hard drive with my important homework. The reason why I did was reset my mac, then return all my old documents, photos ext, back to their place of origin. I have managed to do and frees a lot of space. A few days after my MacBook fell asleep with a connected external hard drive and now the hard drive is no longer present on the desktop or in finder. I am able to find in my "disk utility" , but for some reason, it shows the hard drive passed out faded gray and full? I tried to hook up with different cables and on the various devices as well. Also sang the first aid option in "disk utility" with no other results. I have contacted apple support and found out it was the external hard drive with the problem, so they couldn't help me. They then redirected me to Seagate Support, and I had already tried the methods they gave me (see list above). I was wondering if anyone here on communities of Apple has experienced the same problem as me, it would be that much appreciated advice you may have. I have important files that I need to recover.

  Had a similar problem with external hard drive WD also on model MBA early 2015. Found if I disconnect the external hard drive restart MBA and then reconnect the external hard drive it was working normally again.

  Another thing I tried was still unplug HD plugin MBA on sector and re - a SMC.

• Google Drive moves items to the trash in the Sierra.

  Someone else had a strange behavior of Google Drive under Sierra?

  I installed the Google Reader (which I used without problem for years).

  I dragged files in there and let him sit and synchronization from one day to the next.

  This morning, I found 1 076 files in my trash who have been displaced by Google Drive of my files in the trash, totally random elements of all of my files through. A complete mess.

  I use Google Drive with El Capitan without problem for 2 years, but in this new facility, that has happened.

  FWIW, I have deposited files in the folder of Google Drive and all that's happened is that they have been synced to my account. No rampage files.

  Two things to check...

  1 make sure you have Google installed 1.32 Drive.

  2. make sure that you have not exceeded your storage limit.

• Sierra of MacOS - iCloud Drive Documents & Desktop keeps Getting Stuck download

  as stated in the header after activating the iCloud Drive to include Documents and desktop download stuck guard.

  Since almost 2 weeks I started the task mean to ask iCloud to include above mentioned files. Total quantity was about 100 GB download. I have 1 TB of storage for iCloud. iCloud is always download and always get stuck after about 10 to 30 minutes to download. Then I have to restart after that it starts to load only from getting stuck again.

  I was on the phone with Apple Care who had no idea of what might happen. They Said and I quote "we have no problem with iCloud download and your problem has not yet been recreated by others."

  I find it very hard to believe that I can repro this problem on 3 different systems.

  I have Cable speed of 400 Mbps downstream a 25mbit upstream. I have zero upstream of questions to dropbox or Spideroak at an astonishing speed. ICloud is the slowest I've ever known in my life but as I said after 14 days, it has yet to fill about 40 GB. This is ridiculous IMO.

  If anyone has any ideas on what is once again wrong with iCloud, I would of course tips

  Try to go into System Preferences/iCloud and stop synchronization. Wait a few minutes, then recheck the timing.

  Have you tried the signature to iCloud and then reconnect?

  ON my mac, I want a certain folder to get uploaded to icloud how would I'll be able to to the road? It's an iMac 5 k mid 2015 with macOS as Sanchez installed.

  As far as I know, you can not download files to iCloud by car.  It must be made individually... once again not sure...
