9870 RS232 Module not appearing is not in MAX or LabVIEW

Hello

We work with a sbRIO 9642 with the module RS232 9870 branch above. Weeks, we were able to connect the two and see the module, working with him, etc., and everything was perfectly fine. Now, it's been a few weeks and the only thing we have changed these past few weeks is that we started to work with the RIO FPGA mode instead of the Scan Interface mode. I swapped the return project to analyze interface maybe thinking that was the problem but no joy. It's as if the RS232 module is dead, but I don't know how to tell if this is the problem or if we have a software problem (yet another).

We know that we are up-to-date on all software on the RIO. As I said before, we have done nothing else that change the way that we use the RIO in. I already searched as much as possible from google and can't find anything that was useful to try to understand what is happening here at all.

Any suggestions?

Hello SpaceyJo,

I would like to check if you have installed support for 9870 on drivers OR RIO. "" "You can go to programs and features in Control Panel' National Instruments software ' OR RIO 12.0 ' change ' NI CompactRIO development and C Series Module Support 12.0. Items on LabVIEW 2011 SP1 must be verified.

Also, you can simulate a 9870 on your sbRIO? If you can, it is not a driver / software problem and it is definitely something wrong with the module itself on the material plane. Are one of the reasons I think the 9870 would be damaged if you were in communication with a serial device that had a large common mode voltage, as described on this KB

Otherwise, I see no reason that it would not be a hardware problem and you need to call support for an RMA number. You can do by going to ni.com/support and clicking on 'Contact an Engineer. "

I use Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit and you want to use a USB-6008 in LabVIEW 8.5.1. The device appears under data acquisition devices in the Windows Device Manager. The flashing on the device, but the device does not appear in the Explorer of Measurement & Automation 8.7.1. am I missing something?

    He doubts.

First, check the easy things... to refresh the list of devices to MAX and see if it comes to that.  I'm guessing you've already tried this, but it never hurts to check.

My bet is that it's a database corrupted Max.  This happens from time to time.  Usually when I see it, the 'Dev1' always appears in LabVIEW if you plop down constant DAQ hardware or control.

There are tools and processes to erase and start over with a new database, but in my experience, the best way to resolve it is simply update or reinstall MAX.

    Hello

I installed Windows XP but when I try to install any utility (like the Hotkey Utility) I get the message:

TOSHIBA common Module not found. This configuration will be terminated.

I can't find the "Toshiba ACPI common Modules for Windows XP" on the Toshiba web site. I tried the web site in English,

I tried every single link in the support for the Satellite A105-S2051 page.
    http://www.CSD.Toshiba.com/cgi-bin/TAIS/Su/su_sc_home.jsp

There is nothing like the Module 'common '.

I have lived a great incredible waste of time while searching for the reader.

So please, any help would be welcome.

    Hello

I found Toshiba ACPI common Modules for Windows XP (Toshiba value-added Logic Device) in some different sets of Satellite A105.

    For example: A105-S271 A105-S2711 A105-S361 A105-S3611, A105-S2719, A105-S2712, A105-S2713, A105-S2716, A105-S2717

Go for no apparent reason the A105-S2051 is not there.

However, try the Toshiba ACPI common Modules of different A105.

    Maybe the latter won't work.

I think the error message is quite clear.
Common modules driver is not installed and so you cannot install the Hotkey utility.

The common Modules is a crucial driver to be installed at the beginning!

Therefore, you should visit the European driver of Toshiba. Need to select your model laptop and download this common Modules.
Install it and then repeat the installation of the Hotkey utility.

Found a module not supported on the device slave address 0: 32445 slot

What does that mean? (I have several slaves Garland, but of course, I don't have that many slot machines!) The chassis that has been reported with a red exclamation point contains these modules:

    • NI9201

    • NI9203

    • NI9265

    • NI9421

Is one of them unsupported on EtherCAT? If so, is there a list of modules taken into charge/no supported somewhere?

  • Ports don't appear not not in MAX - VISA installed.

    Hi all

Had a rather strange problem today that I couldn't solve with serial ports not appearing is not in MAX (and thus be inaccessible to LabVIEW). In the windows Device Manager, it shows 4 COM ports, and I checked with an external program that they work properly.

I had the f2 of LabVIEW 2011 SP1 runtime installed, DAQmx 9.6.1 and 5.3 of NI-VISA (5.2 also did not work).

    I tried the things:

    -VISA update 5.2 to 5.3

-Reinstall the COM port devices in Device Manager

    -Change the COM port numbers

-Check that the COM ports are working properly

-Tried to add a port USB Serial Converter as a new COM port

    -Resettlement of MAX

    -Reinstall the driver NI-VISA

-Reinstall everything (restart every time when prompted)

-Reset the hardware configuration of in MAX

-Run the installers / MAX as an administrator (this forum works for the local administrator account)

-Checked that NI-VISA appears under the Max software

    -Fixed MAX/NI-VISA

Is there something else that could cause the COM ports not to appear in MAX when they appear (and work correctly) in Device Manager when a reinstallation of the NI-VISA / MAX solve?

I found the solution - it turns out that the serial ports are available for LabVIEW, just do they not appear in MAX because installed just the runtime does not display devices by MAX.

  • nilsdev - nimdbgk Module not found

    Hello

I just installed a PCI-6509 and NOR-DAQmx 8.0.2 on SUSE Linux. I intend to use the ANSI-C drivers in a C++ application. I have not installed LabVIEW.

I started working my way the Configuration Guide, mainly to check that I had installed everything correctly and have reached the point where nilsdev is executed. On the surface, everything seems to install OK.

When I run nilsdev I get the following error:

    FATAL: Module not found nimdbgk.

    Is how important it?

Of course, it does not nimdbgk, but it doesn't look like it has been installed.

lspci is the map of NOR (but he seems to have the wrong number on, not sure if it is a problem)

Part of LabView nimdbgk is why I don't have it?

    All you have ideas?

    Thank you.

    Hello

I am not that kind of information officially, but I would speculate that it would be in version 8.9.

«NOR-DAQmx added support for 64-bit user mode in NOR-DAQmx 8.9 (ANSI C) and NOR-DAQmx 8.9.5 (ANSI C, LabVIEW 2009 and .NET Framework 3.5).» This now allows the development of 64-bit application on 64-bit operating systems during development for a 64 bit (ADE) Application development environment. »

The outputs by the trend that has occurred with Windows basic drivers, what would be my best guess.

There are a few forum posts that indicate that people have had DAQmx working on x 64 systems, but with the extension of the - m32 for compilations, this isn't really 64 bit.  Unfortunately, the positions are open and do not contain really any resolution as such.

For example this or that.  I just searched "DAQmx Linux 64-bit".

I hope it helps a bit.  I'm sorry that I don't have a definitive answer.

    Kind regards

If you are using the Eclipse plugin, and then you expand the node for the project in the Package Explorer, you should see a library item JRE System, the version of the JRE System why you compile. You can change the JRE version by right-clicking on the JRE System Library, then select "Properties".

If you use BlackBerry JDE, use the editor that comes with the 4.6.1 distribution JDE.
