a 6500 won't print gray, although gray scale value

my hp 6500 won't print black print gray

I set it up to print gray levels - but still, it prints colors apart from the text

It's when your ink has run out - even if the settings are correct

Yes, that's what I did

I tried again and realized the button that says apply has defauted out and could not being clicked - that is why the new settings probally did not apply

so I then changed my choice of greyscale to black only - and only then I could then click on the Apply button ok

I printed your page and it is without color, like I wanted

don't know why I couldn't choose gray well

Thanks for your help and happy holidays

    Hello Jane,.

1 OK, grey scale and intensity are the same thing.

    2. the number of class you choose is an appeal from the judgment.  By increasing or decreasing the number of more or less granular classes, the histogram becomes.  Without a context, I can't speculate on why someone use 8192 classes.

I don't know how all this relates to MS Windows, but maybe you could try HP support regarding problems with your printer, for example.

  • Designjet 500 proposed purple colors AutoCAD printing gray

We used the Designjet for years and have several colors put in place to print gray and projected (252, 253, 254 and 25).  They have recently started with purple print.  I have run all diagnostics and calibrations and alignments available, and they are all good.  I looked at several troubleshooting sites and had no luck.  I use AutoCAD v 13.

Assuming that the print heads are out of all the colors correctly, try this:

The printer HP Designjet 500 and 800 series printers have a fix that was implemented in the version of firmware A.02.08 and higher. This hotfix provides additional media profiles that prevent blue to mauve color output change. This fix is only applicable to the series 500 and 800 and only if the printer has a version of firmware of A.02.08 or higher. Once the firmware has been upgraded, follow the steps below to make the appropriate changes in the Panel menu front printers:

    1.

Highlight the menu paper icon on the display on the front panel of the printer and press ENTER.
    2.

Scroll to the paper type and press ENTER.
    3.

Highlight Enhanced colors and press ENTER.
    4.

Select the type of paper there and then press ENTER.
    5.

Press the Menu key to return to the normal display of front panel

  • PSC 2175 Print gray boxes behind the text

Recently this HP PSC 2175 printer has been printing gray background behind all the text boxes.  It comes from occurring when printing from Windows, launching a test print to options for control panel of the printer, or clear text copy.  See the examples below.

I have already been through a gambit of the typical diagnosis and determined that there must be something internal that is false because this behavior occurs even when the computer is not used.  This isn't a matter of dirty heads print or alignment.  The HPPSdr.exe did nothing, but check that the printer works.

Any suggestion would be appreciated.  Thank you

  • HP Officejet 6000 Print gray instead of black

    Hello

My HP Officejet 6000 works well for about a year until today, where he began to print light gray instead of black.

My officejet is attached via USB directly to my PC, I'm under Ubuntu 12.04 with gnome shell. Used to work out of the area to print. I just install HPLIP Toolbox to see if I can fix anything, but that was no help. I exchanged the inktank black for a new, but that did not help either one. The gray looks perfect gray and not a faded defective, black dryness. I tried to change the output of color mode in the settings of the printer to the only black than gray, and the printer does not print the necessary ink at all. Is this a software problem? Or printer hardware problem? I tried printing from my laptop and had the same problem.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Problem solved. I got my printer to my friend who has a Windows PC and a test print looked fine. I thought it must be a Linux question then. I have connected my printer to my PC Ubuntu again, and for the hell of it, I tried to print a test page and go figure, it worked. Maybe unplug the printer helped solve the problem? BTW, when I meet my problem, the printer was not actually printing gray instead of black by mixing the inktanks color. I discovered that she did not use the black tank at all. I'm glad that everything works again without having to really fix anything. So if anyone else has this problem, try disconnecting the printer, and then try again. That could be the solution. Turn off the PC one on or the printer doesn't help.

  • Printing black and white only (no gray scale)

I have a Windows 7 (64 bit) system with the HP Deskjet 990cse printer.

With Windows XP, I was able to print black and white only (no gray scale), but now with Windows 7, it seems that I can't print black and white only (no gray scale).

Is it possible to print black and white (no gray scale) with a Windows 7 (64 bit) system?

  • DOC ID color prints MOST of the items in gray scale.

Help, please.  I'm at the end of my rope.  Deadline looming.

I have an identity document which is of all colours.  When I go to print it, no matter if it is set to the color ID management or printer color management, most of the elements of the page out in gray scale.  It is a perfect representation of the document, only in grays.  Curiously, there are elements that print in color.  Even more strange, an object from a file will be printed in the perfect color, but HAVE another object of the same file in the same doc ID will be printed grey.

Everything is CMYK.  I even use Bridge for control of colors between the programs.  I can't understand this.

    Any advice?

    PS... you don't know it's important, but I print on a HP cp2025dn.  Windows 7.  CS5.

    Try a different printer.

  • Jobs FRUSTRATED stuck in the queue on Officejet 6500 with IP printing

I'm especially frustrated because I just typed in many details, and when I click on "Preview" my text disappeared. Thank you, HP!

Like others, I have an Officejet 6500 E709n. Print a test page, the diagnosis, the HP printer utility page, I cannot print any document. "They simply wander in the queue with the message host ' 192.168.2.6 network ' is busy. retrying in 10 seconds... forever. Yes, I tried to delete and add the printer again and he gets found very well.

    I can print with USB.

I can print with Hello (but which is slow, so I turned off)

It's okay if my OS X 10.5.8 laptop is connected wirelessly or through ethernet.

The printer is connected to the router Wireless Ethernet. At the present time, my mac is connected to the same router by ethernet. I just started the HP printer utility and printed page setup very well, showing the ink levels.

I'm guessing that it is a problem of intellectual property, and that the HP printer utility uses a different protocol to connect to the printer. Yes?

Fine, I can print from Windows 7 computer that is connected by ethernet on the same network. IP addresses are correctly reserved.

Please, someone help. I have a forthcoming major surgery and won't be able to walk upstairs to the office, so I really want to be able to print wireless from below. I bet once wired print jobs, the wirelss go, too.

Well well, thanks to the kind soul who wrote this:

    http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/Mac-printing-and-scanning/duplex-printing-with-HP-OfficeJet-6500-wireless/m-p/129735#M3716

    (useful text cited below)

You can also modify an existing printer driver:

    (1) system preferences > Print & Fax

    2) click your printer

    3) click on the Options button & supplies

    4) click on the driver tab at the top

    (5) in 'print using... '. "drop-down, choose Select printer software...

    (6) locate HP OfficeJet Pro L7700 in the list

I followed the instructions to turn my printer OfficeJet OfficeJet Pro L7700 6500n driver. Let the JetDirect Protocol.

Now I can print when connected to the Ether - and I can print duplex. AND I can print wireless.

To sum up: If your print jobs stuck in the queue to print on a HP OfficeJet 6500n, but you can ping the printer or you connect via the HP printer utility, the following workaround solution:

Change the IP to JetDirect Protocol

Change the 6500n to OfficeJet Pro L7700 OfficeJet printer driver.

    SOLVED.
