A blackBerry Smartphones MicroSD card corrupt - converted files to the. Extension CH - what are the steps to convert to readable format?

The microSD is corrupted (8gig) and not readable on Blackberry - using Blackberry Bold 9790.  Copied the files to the Windows laptop using the SD card, but cannot open them.  Majority are photos and videos.  FILE0000. CH, FILE0001. CH... FILE0010.CH.  What are the steps to convert to format for recovery of. CH files on laptop?

These are files corrupted, made from a checkdisk utility. You can usually convert them to what whatever and I usually just delete them.

  • BlackBerry smartphones recover memory after you have moved the files in Media card

I inadvertently saved photos and videos to the device memory.  When I discovered this I moved the files on the media card, but the space in the memory of the device was not released, although the image and folders in video memory show no file.  All solutions?   I am running OS 5.

"Memory" is basically a multimedia card shipped.  It is memory separate from your "Application memory".

I just want to perform a full backup of the device with Desktop Manager.  Wipe the device in the Options > Security Options > Security wipe.  Then restore the backup.  That will probably bring your memory asks how far it was.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Media Card can not be read question - tried several 'solutions '.

This morning I look a some photos on my BlackBerry Pearl 8130 (carrier Verizon) and all of a sudden, when trackballing on a thumbnail and trying to open the photo, it just sort of frozen. She would not open the photo.  After a few seconds, the best hypothesis, I would say that 30 or less, it says "Media Card can not be Read. I went to the Options > Media Card and checked all my settings.

Map of media Support - > on

    Encryption mode - > no

    -> On mass storage support

    Enable Auto-> guest

I put the MicroSD card in the card and my laptop and he could read all the files correctly. I put on my C: drive and formatted the card in the phone. The BB gave a successful message and again, could not be Read...  I put the card (with the files back on them) in another bead and it reads the card and thin files.

This happened only once in the past and the infamous battery pull worked. I tried 10 + times now with my phone and still no luck. Whenever I left the battery longer and longer. I am sure that is not the card, and it is not stuck in mass storage Mode, since I've not directly connected the phone to the computer with the cable from the problem.

It seemed if strange could be viewing of a file on the card and then all of a sudden stop grateful the card. All the copper in the card slot rods are straight and not bent. The card is a SanDisk 1 GB.

    Any help would be appreciated.

I think you're right. I had two go wrong in mine, unrelated to the BB.

Please let us know when you get another, and we can go over the options.

Please solve this thread and open a new one when you get the card.

    Thank you

    Hi all

IAM again to BlackBerry programming. My requirement is to know how to copy some files (i.e. excel files) in a folder specified in the BlackBerry to desktop. Can someone guide me what programming software to use to make this work.

Please can someone tell how the system of files (records management) would be BlackBerry.

    Thank you

Is it necessary to have separate BB sd card to get an accessible drive in 'My computer' and so we can copy files programmatically.

What is the price of media card (say 1 GB).

on your device, you have internal memory (aka the device memory) and you have a microSD (aka memory support).
memory support can be seen by your PC using USB mass storage (which you can do on the first Blackberry).
the device memory can not be seen like that. The Roxio Media Manager can do that, as well as a module of the Desktop Manager 4.7 (does not work on 4.6 and earlier).

a Sandisk 4 GB media card costs cheaper 4USD on Amazon.

Is it possible to develop an application that resides in the internal memory of BB, who can access the files in the memory card?

Yes it is possible. You can search for resources on the top of this page, in the "DEVELOPERS" link If you have any questions about this you can post them on the set of 'Java development' on this forum.

Now, I had a password but I forgot now and you want to reset.

There are valuable pictures here I want to recover

So, he asks the password existing old device.

As noted above, there is no adjustment. There is no backdoor. There is nothing else than your memory.

You will receive up to ten attempts to enter the correct password before it clears.

If there is a "reset", don't you think BlackBerry security would be the laughingstock of the world, rather than the more impenetrable security apparatus on the market.

  • Need for blackBerry Smartphones to synchronize with MS Outlook backup the old files

    Hello

I'm kinda stuck with my Blackberry Bold 9700.  He wiped my old entries in the calendar (even though I have "Keep forever" selected in options), but I need the calendar last points because I used it for the follow-up of meetings, events, etc.

Before you reinstall an old backup, copy in Outlook and then re - install my current version is there any how else to get this info on the file backup and in Outlook.  I really want to install a previous version of the backup on my phone because when I do, he never wears on a large number of the phone ringing, settings, etc., and I still need to do to get things to normal.

    Help, please!

(By the way, I use an older version of the device software on my phone (5.0.0.714) because I can't stand display new calendar version.)

If you do want to restore a previous backup schedule, you can - calendar only, nothing else.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones MIcroSD or MicroSDHC for 8800

Is there a clear/discovery judgment on if 8800 compatible MicroSDHC (in addition to MicroSD)?

This thread has said that the MicroSDHC is different from the MicroSD:

    http://supportforums.BlackBerry.com/Rim/Board/message?board.ID=8800&message.ID=200&query.ID=23800#m2...

This thread says they are both compatible:

    http://supportforums.BlackBerry.com/Rim/Board/message?board.ID=8300&message.ID=14603&query.ID=23536#...

Look at the ages on the responses and comments. The 88xx for media card devices support following the operating system that is loaded on the device:

BlackBerry Device Software media card size limit

BlackBerry Device Software 4.2.0 - up to 2 GB

BlackBerry Device Software 4.2.1 - up to 4 GB

BlackBerry Device Software 4.2.2 - up to 4 GB

BlackBerry Device Software 4.3.0 - up to 8 GB

BlackBerry Device Software 4.5.0 - up to 8 GB

BlackBerry Device Software 4.5.0.81 and above - up to 16 GB

BlackBerry Device Software 4.6.0 - up to 32 GB

Look at the options > about to determine your OS and what device will support you.

But to answer your question, Yes, it supports both the MicroSD and MicroSDHC and.

The designation HC means high capacity for these cards larger than 2 GB in size.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones BB Torch - deletion of files and multiple records

I have over 150 photos in the pictures folder on my Blackberry Torch 9800 and after their import to my PC, I want to delete them from my BB to find memory and space... I can delete these photos one by a sequence of instructions in the Guide, but it is not logical to repeat this step 150 times and there must be a quicker way to go about it.

What I want to do is to remove all the contents of this folder of photos in a single step. I looked on the BB Torch User Guide Ver 6.0 and in help for the BB Desktop Software and that you have not found the instructions on removing entire folders or multiple files in a folder in one step.

Can someone direct me please some instructions or the Support page on the subject.

Welcome to the forums! When you connect the device to the computer, you get three options, one of which is to connect in USB, or mass storage mode. If you choose this option, two windows will usually pop up, offers you the ability to manipulate files on your card or on your device memory. Choose to open the folder to view the files on the memory of your device and you will be able to mass delete your photos like that.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Media Card Format fail on several good maps

I did a little digging, trying to find a solution to my problem before I posted, but most of the positions in the vein of a Media Card not recognized/not possible to format off trail 'is your SD card bad?' with no further response. Here is where I am:

    My phone: Blackberry Curve 8330

    My carrier: Verizon

    My OS: v4.5.0.175

    My problem:

2 GB media card has been used in the phone since purchase in July ' 08. Since 2 weeks, bed phone is no longer media card. Media card is recognized by phone (which means the phone detects whether or not the card is present). Error message 'Media card can not be read. Check that the memory card is formatted. "Failure to put in shape via phone immediately. When you connect to the computer via the USB port (with mass storage permit), Blackberry device is recognized, but no media card is present. A gray (i) drive appears in my computer, but is inaccessible and cannot be checked or formatted (error message; "Please insert a disk into the drive I :).

    Attempts at solutions:

Used 3 different media cards: 2 GB Sony 2 GB PNY, 8 GB. Each of the cards tested via a SD adapter and play properly in my computer: can move files to/from, checkdisk and reformat. Have all PC formatted. Each card gives the same error 'Media Card... formatted"as shown above. Hard reset (battery pull) has no effect. Have removed battery for 48 hours (in which case there was stubborn capacitors, or something like that). Support storage of mass and the Media Card encryption or powered off, remove and reinserted card with each parameter not changed, no effect (I can give you a list of all of this, but you get the idea. I'm decently thorough). Rolled back the OS to the previous version (via Desktop Manager), problem still exists. Re-upgrade to the current version, without change.

To sum up, the phone works very well, but media card can thus not be there. It is not the credit cards, and I don't think it's the software, because I changed the OS from top to bottom, so I guess that maybe material. I would be grateful for all suggestions, and if you need any additional information, I will do my best to provide.

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

    Excellent diagnosis! Play well!

Unfortunately, your data, the only thing I can conclude is a problem with the hardware of the BB itself. You have done everything that I can think of to determine the root cause, and everything points to the material BB. Since you're out of warranty, if you purchased an extended service agreement, you can study the use of this. Otherwise, I'm sure that your carrier will recommend replacement - at a price (for you).

    Best!

  • Question from Newbie blackBerry Smartphone memory card

I have recently entered the world of BB and am happy with my curve 8330 from Sprint. I am down encryption and have scoured all the online info, I can find as well as the manual. I'm barely scratching the surface of all uses and features, and while I am old guy when it comes to computers (50) and am not an expert, I'm not afraid of technology either and am eager to learn. I have a few simple questions (I hope) that I could use some help/advice for.

    (1) the BB came with a 1 GB card and I also bought a 2 GB card. If I want to change the 2 GB card, I have to do and what items/app will be affected by the swap? I'm not sure if the BB has an internal memory and the memory card, and what exactly is used to by the BB memory card. And what are the benefits to upgrade me to the 2 GB card;

    (2) If an email I rec'v has an attachment which is a video, I can't play (although no problems with photo attachments) is at - it an app I want to download on the BB for videos, and if so how can I do this and where to get the application? I've never downloaded an app on the BB before and am not sure exactly how do;

    (3) is at - he an advtage to connect to a Wifi hotspot from your mobile operator in some cases and my 8330 allows a wifi connection and how do I configure it if so.

Thanks for anyadvice and help that you can lend... I'm new to this but am fascinated by the possibilities.

    Joel

If media files are on your device memory, it just load Media Manager into the Desktop Manager and move on.
