A copy of Mac OS 9.2.1 detail or higher

I had a snow iBook G3 and I want to install Mac OS 9 on my iBook G3 Snow. I got me a copy of Mac OS 9.1, but 9.1 is not compatible with my model (and Yes, I tried). Anything Mac OS 9.2.1 or don't work anymore. I've seen "Update" CDs, but do not know if they will work as there is no Mac OS 9 on the iBook. Has Apple made copies of lots of detail? Or I need to find a CD of grey? MacTracker, he said at the end of 2001 and the 1 iBook 14.1 "LCD two supplied with Mac OS 9.2.1 if I buy the wrong one, will it not work with my model? Or Mac OS 9.2.1 the 14 "model compatible with the iBook late 2001 CD?

You must find a retail CD, or run the installation on an older Mac and update 9.2.1.

I use MacBook (pro and air) and ipads (4 and mini). I need to copy large to very large pdf files of the macbook for ipad - to read in ibooks.

iTunes (for synchronization) is absolutely useless in this case (as in many others).

is there a simple and easy way (similar to the copy of the files to a samsung tab) to solve my problem?

    Thanks for any positive response.

What happens when you try to synchronize with your iPad via iTunes? You have added the to iBooks on your Mac?

The alternatives are to send to yourself and use "open in" in the Mail app on your iPad to copy on iBooks on it. Or you could potentially use iCloud drive (I don't use so cannot give information about it): use iCloud Drive or iBooks to access PDFs, ePub files and books - Apple Support

  • Unable to view or open files after copying from mac to mac

    Hello the Mac community!

I have a disturbing question I'm trying to solve.  I am an administrator with full administrative rights on our Mac network.  We have a variety of machines El Capitan and Yosemite.

I have a lot of machines that have all of the different USER accounts with access USER ONLY.  No administrative rights.  I don't want my staff not spoil the machines or turn on or off certain functions.  I want to freely share and copy files on our network.  My Mac has all the rights administrator for my account.  Each of their Mac has a USER account AND an administrator account that they don't sign in.

When someone tries to copy files from their Mac to another Mac using the FINDER, copies of files, but then the person on the receiver Mac cannot open the file.  I can manually pass and unlock with my credentials, but it is very frustrating and I don't know what I'm missing.

I made sure that file sharing is enabled for each account.  Obviously because you could not copy the file in the first place, if it was turned off.  I really want to make them all start to use the SHARED folder.

They used to all administrator rights and files flowed but since I have set them up as regular USERS who could not be an administrator, the problem started.

    Any idea?

  • machine Ubuntu 10.04 copied host Mac (fusion) to 7 lost Workstation network eth0

I wanted to distribute VM, I 'pre configured' to my students. I prepare the machines on VMware FUSION 3.1 on Snow Leopard (Mac).

I have problems in college class configuration: I copy fully operational files of the directory with an Ubuntu 10.04 (with the latest VMware tools installed on Mac) on Windows 7 PC running Workstation 7.

The machine copied boots under 7 workstation, but eth0 fails to start and the loopback interface is available. Not very useful as a 'server '.

I tried NAT, connected by a bridge and host-only for the machine: no change.

I removed and replaced the control panel of the virtual machine interface: no effect.

Comments are welcome - especially if others have the same problem.

    Prof. Peter Goedtkindt

    Hello Peter,.

I have not checked this for Ubuntu 10.04 but the same problem appeared on earlier versions of ubuntu and it isn't really a question of VMware.

Let me explain, I think what is happening is that you are not using "copy" when the question "have you you move or copy this virtual machine" appears.

Copy is the answer if you want to use clones in the same network, but it has a side effect.

This means that the NETWORK card receives a new Mac address and UUID. Due to this udev is of the opinion that there is a new network interface.

You can check the/etc/iftab(5) and interfaces.

In Ubuntu 8.04, the solution to this problem was simply remove the associating rule udev and restart.

    sudo rm /etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules
    sudo reboot

The start-up of the ubuntu installation should recreate this file. (Sure do make a copy before you delete the file)

I don't know if the solution of "throw the udev rule" still works for 10.04, but I'd be surprised if it's not

    Hope this helps,

  • Open the Document as a COPY on MAC

    Hello world!

A very simple question about the different behavior of InDesign on Windows and Mac. On Mac whenever a document is open, it always opens a copy of the document regardless of the selection of the options of the dialog open ORIGINAL or NORMAL. Instead, Windows runs the process as requested.

In fact, I try to open the InDesign document using the script

    App.Open (file, true, OpenOptions.OPEN_ORIGINAL)

call. But on Mac, it works as expected.

Only, I want to know if this is the default behavior on MAC or there is some setting preference to substitute it.

    Thanks in advance.

Files of older versions still open 'copy' - If you look in the window title, it will say "Yourfilename.indd-[converted]."

If you open this file, and then save it as your current version, it behaves as expected.

However, when I copy and paste the text from the word in TextEdit, then copy the contents of TextEdit and paste it into dreamweaver, it works. but I want to eliminate unnecessary intermediaries and know what the hell is happening? I've restarted both programs, do not know what it could be.

Does anyone else have this problem?

Yes I forgot that the search is horrible on these forums. This is the biggest thread so far. I think that 20 posts in this thread about this. In addition, next time just for advice, if you need to search these forums I highly recommend going to google and do a search like: searchtopic site: adobe.com. Who will search the Adobe website and the forums for the answer.

  • Serial number does not, no disk does not (copy of mac)

I just brought a new Mac Mini installed my Photoshop CS3 on it. When I opened the application my serial number does not work because I used it too many times. My last computer fell down, so I can't take off Photoshop it. I followed a tutorial that had two options:

1 set the clock on your computer uninstall and re-install.

2 delete the following folders in/Library/Application Support / Adobe: Adobe PCD, backup and caps. And re-install

Now, when I try to install Photoshop CS3 it installs yet! There is a cross instead of a check mark next to everything. I tried the repair disk in disk utilities, and told me that there is nothing wrong with the CD.

Is there a way to fix this?

  • Any computer system, I can now buy will run my CS5 Master Collection for Mac efficiently? Please provide details on the configuration.

I bought the version CS5 Master Collection for Mac student-to-teacher in 2010 when it was the version of the software. It is on a DVD. I don't have a Mac, as I had hoped. I've never been able to use my CS5 Master Collection Adobe.

These Adobe programs were very expensive and also a dream come true for me, and I would like to be able to use them. I can now buy a Mac computer. I ask this question in order to get help in the configuration of a computer system which runs programs of CS5 Master Collection effectively.

I want a computer with the best capability I can afford. My budget is in the vicinity of five thousand dollars. My technical knowledge is extremely limited. I need a response that sets out very clearly and very basically things in full detail.

If it is impossible now to make effective use of the CS5 Master Collection, so I would like to know this, so that uncertainty about my software Adobe need no more trouble and affect my buying decision. My old windows computer recently crashed and I need to start shopping for a computer.

I'd be happy to answer any questions that might help you solve my problem, so please post them here. Thank you!

CS 5 you can install it on the latest version of Mac OS, its not otherwise impossible except scenario very very rare. But the official response is this old version apps are not tested against the latest Mac or no support is available for CS 5 Adobe assistance now. But you can get help from staff, but also colleagues.

But it is confirmed that CS 2 versions cannot be installed because they are Power PC apps. Rosetta is not available for the latest version of Mac OS.

now the Collection Adobe apps are subscription like monthly / annual subscription.

But most of the users have managed to install CS 5 version on Mac OS X 10.11, little inconsistency there. We can fix.

  • Mac book bro

When I start it show the dwonloading of something apple then his newspaper logo suddenly no reason

    What could be the problem

You get the Apple logo only when it is loaded with the blob first software on the hard disk. If the player answered (isn't Cold Stone-death).

The next major hurdle is the initialization of the file system and mount the boot disk to read files and load up to Mac OS. If you get a bar that takes minutes (rather than in seconds) to progress your player if directory damage and could not be mounted. The minutes are taken to the equivalent of disk utility 'first aid '.

IF the boot drive can be mounted after one pass of the repair, the boot continues.

If this is not the case, your Mac will automatically stop.

So the answer is, you have serious Corruption of directory on the boot drive, and it must be repaired before proceeding. You can hold the R command at startup to get utilities and try to run disk utility and repair.

If repairable, you can proceed. If not, you need a new external drive and install a new copy of Mac OS on it. Or the Genius Bar to your Apple store can do for you. If you have a backup of trust, you can erase the disc instead, but this erases ALL the files and is not a good idea. A new external drive is not very expensive.

  • Clean my Mac 3 uninstall

    Hello!

I just bought a new iMac (27-inch Retina, end of 2015 form, with 16 GB of RAM) not too long ago and I had Clean My Mac 3 installed on it. I started doing research on this, and thanks to many messages here, discovered that this software is terrible. I had nothing of real value on my Mac again and after the horror stories that I read I want to he WENT... so I completely removed the drive using disk utility, and then install a new copy of Mac OS X.

My question is: in doing so, is any damage that could have been made by clean my Mac now cancelled? I guess that yes because I reinstalled the operating system? I really want to make sure that this Mac lasts me for a long time, and I read that the effects of the CMM sometimes become apparent for a long time. Now that I took these steps to delete all and reinstalling OS X, is it like CMM has never been installed?

(It's probably a stupid question) opening the door of memory and adding more memory will void the warranty? I bought AppleCare.

    Thank you in advance!

How can I perform a clean installation of Mac OS x for my iMAC, retina 5K late 2014 with drive of Fusion with the intact Recovery HD partition?

Pure how to install OSX on a Fusion drive and keep the recovery disc function

These instructions assume that your iMAC partitions or file systems has been damaged and you want to restore to the way most efficiency with fusion drive and the recovery partition, similar to what was built in the factory.

These instructions work for the iMAC, retina 5K end 2014 version comes with OSX Yosemite. The scores of major drive of the 128 G SSD and 3 TB of HARD drive has been configured as a logical drive (merger by car).

WARNING: These instructions here are shared for interest only. Readers to take their own risk by following these instructions. The author is not responsible for any damage caused by following these instructions.

This is the target disk partitions, and the configuration that we want to achieve.

Disk0 is the 128 GB SSD - solid state drive and holds the start of the partition (disk0s3)

Disk1 is the 3.0 to HDD - mechanical transmission and holds the Recovery HD partition.

There are two EFI partitions to partition table GUID on both hard drives (disk0s1, disk1s1).

Disk space remaining (partition disk0s2 and disk1s2) are used to create the disc of Fusion 3.1 to named "Macintosh HD".

    / dev/disk0 (internal, physical):

    #: NAME SIZE TYPE IDENTIFIER

    0: GUID_partition_scheme * GB 121,3 disk0

    1: disk0s1 EFI EFI 209.7 MB

    Fusion unencrypted drive

    Here's how we do it.

    • A. clean reinstallation of Mac OS x.
    • 1. make sure that you back up all your data on the hard drive using Time Machine or other means. The following procedure will delete all data.
    • 2. create the OSX install USB, insert it to the MAC workstation.
    • 3. given that us will be operated on the internal trunk of the reader of the Mac, it must start on OSX install USB (see Y.).
    • 4. in the menu at the top of the screen, select disk utilities.
    • 5. turn highlighted the volume of disk Fusion called "Macintosh HD." Click clear to clean.
    • 6. If his success, then go ahead to install OSX new to that partition, as usual.
    • 7. otherwise, if it does not, that means fusion drive has been damaged.
    • 8 follow the instructions below to fix it.
    • . B. Split disc Fusion in the physical hard disks
    • 1. Since us will be operated on the internal drive of the Mac trunk, assumes that we already have boot up OSX install USB drive (see Y.).
    • 2. in the menu at the top of the screen, select utilities and Terminal.
    • 3. on the screen of the terminal type:
    • Cs diskutil list.
    • You will see something similar to the screen below.
    • 4 copy the long string after Logical Volume and replace the UUID with it in the following command to delete the logical volume of the disc fusion (aka coreStorage of logical volume):
    • diskutil deletevolume cs UUID
    • For example:
    • diskutil deletevolume E59B5A99-F8C1-461A-AE54-6EC11B095161 cs
    • 5 copy the long string after the logical volume group and replace the UUID with it in the following command to remove the drive (aka coreStorage) fusion:
    • diskutil cs remove UUID
    • p. ex. diskutil cs remove E03B3F30-6A1B-4DCD-9E14-5E927BC3F5DC
    • 6. at this stage, the fusion drive has been deleted, and hardsisk SSD and mechanical hard drive will be reappear in diskutil or separate records.
    • 7. If step 5 or 6 takes more than 30 minutes to complete, this means that the fusion drive has been corrupted. You can follow the commands below to clear the table to partition the hard way. First command clears the SSD drive, second command erases the HARD drive.
    • The command does not return a response, after 1 minute, press Ctrl + Z to complete orders. 1 minute is enough data to code and erase the partition table on the disk.
    • cat/etc/random >/dev/disk0
    • cat/etc/random >/dev/disk1
    • . C install a new copy of Mac OS x for the hard drive HDD and tested this disk partition hard recovery work.
    • 1. go on diskutil to create a partition called Macintosh HD HDD hard drive using all the space there.
    • 2 do the same with the mechanical hard drive.
    • 3. follow the usual procedure to boot from the installation of OSX USB and install a new copy of Mac OS x hard disk SSD.
    • 4. This will create the correct priming of the partitions, recovery hard drive partitions and PSX partitions hard disk HDD.
    • 5. once the installation is complete, test if OSX may start successfully, but no need to go through the initial MAC OS x didn't put in place that we're going to waste this and do the installation again later.
    • 6. we must now test if the recovery hard drive partition works.
    • 7. reboot for hard drive recovery (see X - by pressing command and R at the same time during boot right after that you hear sound start and release only a few seconds after you see the apple logo and the progress bar for loading...)
    • 8. it is important to test and make sure that the partition of hard drive recovery.
    • D. recreate the fusion drive
    • 1 since us will be operated on the internal trunk of the reader of the Mac, it must start on OSX install USB (see Y.).
    • 2. in the menu at the top of the screen, select utilities and Terminal.
    • 3
. on the screen of the terminal type:
  • diskutil list.
  • You should find that we have a list of disk group hard physical volume only, no logic here still.
  • 4. you will see something similar to the screen below.
  • 5. search for the largest partition on the SSD hard drive, which should be close to the maximum size of HDD to the SSD (121 G, for example) and mark the name of the device, this will usually be something like/dev/disk0s2
  • 6. search the largest disk partition mechanical forming fusion with the SSD hard drive. This should be close to the maximum size of the mechanical hard drive (for example 3 TB) hard disk and mark the name of the device, this will usually be something like/dev/disk1s2
  • 7
  • . Now let's create the merger in car (group alias logical volume) in the Terminal, type: diskutil cs create nom_lecteur driveIDs
  • The number of the driveIDs is unlimited, it may be a number of discs, or a number of disk partitions. Always put the faster discs first, for example for our SSD disk0s2
  • For example:
  • diskutil cs create fusiondrive disk0s2 disk1s2
  • diskutil - the version of disk utility command line.
cs - This calls for Core Storage, which is necessary for the merger.
create - creates a basic storage group.
nom_lecteur - is the name of the drive and how you want that he
  • appear in the disk utility (not the Finder - that comes later). You can call it what you like; in our example, we named our Fusion table "Fusion".

  • driveIDs - Here is the Player IDs of the readers you want as part of your Fusion table, separated by a space. In our example, they are 'disk0' and 'disk1', but it may be different in your configuration.
  • It is important that the faster hard drive appears first in the command, which in our case the disk0s2 (a partition in the SSD). In this way, drive fusion will use this disk as primary and the cache. The second disc in the command, in this case disk1s2 (a partition on the HARD disk). The secondary disk (HARD drive) is used to store less frequently used files.  Otherwise, the fusion drive performance will be worse that it is designed for.
  • 8. you will see something like below appear on the screen:
  • Creation Volume logical storage of kernel
  • Move isk0s2 storage of carrots
  • Disk1s2 of switching for the storage of carrots
  • Waiting for logical volume group appear
  • Discovered the new group of logical volumes 'DBFEB690-107B-4EA6-905B-2971D10F5B53 '.
  • Store LVG UUID: DBFEB690-107B-4EA6-905B-2971D10F5B53
  • Finished CoreStorage operation
  • 9 copy to the bottom of the string after "Discovering new Volume Logic Group" using the command + C
  • 10. next, create the partition of the merger (alias logical volume) drive named "Macintosh HD".
  • In the Terminal, type: diskutil createVolume groupString jhfs cs + size volumeName
  • For example:
  • Diskutil createVolume DBFEB690-107B-4EA6-905B-2971D10F5B53 jhfs cs + 'Macintosh HD' 100%
  • diskutil - once again, this is the version of disk utility command line.
  • cs - called the basic storage functions, which are necessary for this arrangement.
  • createVolume - this is the command to create the storage area real for the reader who is represented by an icon on your desktop.
  • groupstring - this is the long alphanumeric string you copied in the previous step. It identifies the table you created such as getting a volume placed on it.
  • jhfs + -the format of the disc. It is Apple (journaled) extended Format, which is recommended for drives with an operating system installed on it.
  • VolumeName - the actual name of the volume, how it should appear under the icon. If there is a space in the name, you must put the full name in quotes ("name") or put a slash before the (name Drive\) space. In our example, we made these, naming our volume "Macintosh HD".
  • size : this is the size of the volume. In our example, we had a 1.1 TB drive. We used '1100g' to describe what 1100 GB (1.1 TB to base 10). Otherwise, we could have also used 1.1 T or even 100% as a size.
  • 11. go to diskutil to verify that you can see this new partition on the list.
  • 12. test by erasing all the data from it.
  • 13. then you can go ahead to start on the USB drive to install OSX and install a new copy of Mac OS x on it.
  • 14. This will allow you to keep the recovery disk feature.
  • X. how Prime to recover partition
  • Press and hold the command and button R set immediately after hearing the bells to boot.
  • Only release it 2 seconds after you see the Apple logo on the screen and the progress bar for the start. This will start the partition of hard drive recovery.
  • Y. how-to boot OSX install USB
  • Press and hold the command and the optionkey together immediately after hearing the ringing of boot.
  • Only release it 2 seconds after you see the Apple logo on the screen and it will give you a list of startup disk choice, choose the OSX install USB to boot from.
  • This report on Mac/system hardware to display incorrectly

    Hi people!

I recently bought a used Macbook Pro 13, 2012 with the specs announced as i7 2.9 GHz, 16 GB RAM, 500 GB SSD.  The seller showed specifications system via 'about this Mac' and 'System Report' and they came as above then I handed the money and went on my merry way. On their return, that I have updated to the most recent of the El Capitan - 10.11.4 version and after doing so the specifications changed to what I now believe to be the real specs of the machine - i5, 8 GB RAM, 128 GB SSD - I have since confirmed this by checking the serial number on everymac.com and reset for diagnostics of material. So, I was wrong. Anyway, moving along - the system specifications are everywhere:

Note 3MB L3 cache, i7 should be 4 MB, of course. I just want to underline once again that when purchasing the specs above were all showing that you would expect from a MBP i7 13, 2012.

First of all, is this kind of thing in common with the Mac and how the filthy bastard does that - a notched kext with a description? Is it possible to fix without having to do a fresh install of Mac OS X? $ 1 million for any help thanks you girls and guys can give me. I could really do with him right now. Not what you could call a good introduction to the world of Macs.

< images edited by host to remove personal information >

Before purchasing a used computer, you must have run Apple Diagnostics or the Apple Hardware Test, whichever is applicable.

The first thing to do after the acquisition of the computer is to wipe the internal drive and install a new copy of Mac OS X. You - not the original owner, must do. Changes made by Apple over the years have made this very complex seemingly simple task.

How would you do it depends on the model, and if you already have another Mac. If you are not sure of the model, enter the serial number on this page. Then, find the model on this page to see which version of the OS was initially installed.

It is dangerous and may be illegal to use a computer with software installed by a previous owner.

    1. If you do not have another Mac

    a. If the machine comes with OS X 10.4 or 10.5, you need a Snow Leopard install disc (OS X 10.6) retail boxed and "Shrink Wrap" on the Apple Store or a reputable dealer - no eBay or something of the sort. If the machine is very old and has less than 1 GB of memory, you need to add in order to install 10.6. Preferably, install as much memory can take, according to the technical specifications.

    (b) if the machine comes with OS X 10.6, you need the installation media that accompanies it: gray installation discs, or a USB flash drive for a MacBook Air. You should have received the media of the original owner, but if you do not, order replacements from Apple. A disc at retail, or the gray discs of another model, will not work.

To start from an optical disc or a flash drive, insert it, and then restart the computer and hold the C key to start ringing. Release the button when you see the gray Apple logo on the screen.

    c. If the machine comes with OS X 10.7 or later version, you don't need media. It should start in the mode of Recovery of the Internet when you hold down the key combination option-command-R to start ringing. Release the keys when you see a spinning globe. Note that Mac Pro models turn over end of 2014 (with the box of "cheese grater") cannot use Internet recovery, regardless of what version of OS they shipped with. The Mac Pro round (2014 or later) can use it.

    d. some models 2010-2011 comes with OS X 10.6 and received a firmware update after 10.7 was released, allowing them to use Internet recovery. If you have one of these models, you cannot reinstall 10.6 even from the original media, and recovery of the Internet won't work either without Apple ID of the original owner, in this case, contact Apple technical supportor take the machine to an Apple Retail Store or other authorized service provider to have an operating system installed.

    2. If you do not have another Mac

If you already have another Mac which has been upgraded in the App Store to the version of Mac OS X that you want to install, and if the new Mac is compatible with it, then you can install it. Use the recovery disk wizard to prepare a USB device, and then starts the new Mac of it by pressing the C key to start ringing. Alternatively, if you have a backup of OS X Time Machine 10.7.3 or later on an external hard drive (not a time Capsule or other network device), you can start by holding down the option key and clicking in the row of icons that is displayed. Note that if your other Mac has never updated in the App Store, you can not use this method.

3 partition and install OS X

a: If you see a lock screen trying to boot from the support installation or recovery mode, then a firmware password has been defined by the previous owner, or the machine was locked remotely via iCloud. You will need to either contact the owner or by the machine to an Apple Retail Store or other provider of service to be unlocked. May asked you proof of ownership.

    b. launch disk utility, and then select the internal drive icon - no volume icons nested beneath it. In the Partition tab, select the default options: a partition table GUID with the volume of data in Mac OS extended (journaled) format. This permanently deletes all existing data on the disk.

    c. an unusual problem can occur if all the following conditions apply:

OS X 10.7 or later version has been installed by the previous owner

The boot volume has been encrypted with FileVault

You start in recovery mode (that is, not of a 10.6 disk installation)

In this case, you will not be able to unlock the volume or partition the drive without the FileVault password. Ask for advice or see this discussion of the CSA.

    d. after partitioning, quit disk utility and run the OS X Installer. If you install a version of OS X was acquired from the App Store, you will need the Apple ID and password you used. When the installation is complete, the system reboots automatically in the Migration Wizard, which will prompt you to transfer the data from another Mac, its backups, or from a Windows computer. If you have all the data to be transferred, it is usually the best time to do it.

    e. run the software update and install all available Apple system updates. To upgrade to a major version of Mac OS X newer than 10.6, get it from the Mac App Store. Note that you can not keep an improved version that was installed by the first owner. He or she cannot legally transfer to you, and without the Apple ID, you will be able to update in a software update or reinstall, if it becomes necessary. Is the same for all App Store products that the previous owner installed, you will need to buy.

    4. other issues

    a. If the original owner "accepted" bundled iLife (iPhoto, iMovie and Garage Band) applications in the App Store so that he or she could put up-to-date, IRREVOCABLY linked to that Apple ID and you can download them without having to buy them. Reportedly, the Mac App Store Customer Service sometimes issued codes of reimbursement for these applications to second owners who asked.

    (b) if the previous owner has not Deauthorize the computer in the iTunes Store under his Apple ID, you will not be able to authorize immediately under your username. In this case, you will have either to wait up to 90 days or contact iTunes Support.

    c. When you try to create a new iCloud account, you could get a failure message: "Account limit reached." Apple imposes a limit of life of three configurations by device iCloud account. Erasure of the unit does not reset the limit. You can always use iCloud account that was created on another device, but you will not be able to create a new. Contact iCloud Support for more information. Configuration limit does not apply to the Apple ID accounts used for other services, such as iTunes and Mac App Store or iMessage. You can create as many accounts you want.

  • The best of Mac to use with CS5.5?

I have recently updated from a Mac Mini in an iMac (Intel Quad Core i5/3.1 GHz, AMD Radeon HD 6970 m 1 GB, 16 GB RAM) running El Capitan and the iMac crashes frequently. Department of repair of the retailer tested the iMac and it works fine except when InDesign, Photoshop and Bridge is running. Are there specific Mac requirements, I should seek reliability using Creative Suite 5.5, iMac or Mac Mini? When I created the iMac, I downloaded all the software Adobe still instead of copying the Mac mini (late 2012, i7/2.3 GHz, Intel HD 4000 1536 MB). I have no problem using the El Capitan and CS 5.5 software on my Mac Mini and the iMac was crashing about once a day and always with at least an open CS program.

You may have been lucky on your Mac Mini with CS5.5 and El Capitan, but most of the InDesign users have problems with her or CS6. We get a lot of questions about it on the forum of InDesign. They are not compatible, and these old vesion will never be updated.

The only solutions are to return to a previous operating system, or upgrade to creative cloud.
