A default gateway is not available: Wi-wired connections and has stopped working on my PC

Hi all.

Connections Wi-wired and on my PC have stopped working all of a sudden. I tried to restore my system to an older image, and he began to work for a while. He then stopped working again after a few hours, when I apply my updates of windows and other restorations (to the same restore point) didn't help. Troubleshooting, says that the default gateway is not available.  I already tried to renew that my ip and disable firewall and they do not seem to help. I am also unable to ping my default gateway. It is not a problem with the ISP, since I am able to connect using my laptop.
I use an edge of dell wireless network adapter and use a realtek network card.
Any help / pointers in the resolution of this matter will be highly appreciated.

Ok. So, I finally found the real culprit. It was an update of McAfee, which cut the Internet. I ended up uninstalling McAfee and re - install the latest version. Found the solution through this post:

  • WiFi access limited, error: "the default gateway is not available.

I just bought a laptop Windows 8 last December. It had been repaired twice (change the motherboard). He works all fine until last week, wifi connectivity started showing limited access. Furthermore, my IPV6 shows no access. I tried many solutions to many websites, but all will not work. Is there another way? When I trobleshoot the problem, it will show wifi Internet but when I run Google Chrome, it displays an error of internet connection. After I trobleshoot, the stated problem is "the default gateway is not available. In addition, he recovers in about 5 minutes after trobleshooting access. I need a solution as soon as possible. URGENT!  In addition, may I know what caused this do? I hope some of you can help. :(

Dell Inspiron 7420, unique language of Windows 8

    Hi Amos,.

I understand that your WiFi connection fails.
According to the guidelines of the error (the default gateway is not available), there is a problem with the gateway IP address that does not connect to the internet.

I would be grateful if you could answer the following questions:

    1. did you of recent changes made to your computer (installation of updates, device drivers)?

    2. which antivirus app do you use?

What are the troubleshooting steps you have tried?

Here are a few troubleshooting steps that you can try to solve this problem.

Method 1: Manually assign the IP address and the default gateway and check if it works very well. Before you assign manually the IP address and the gateway by default, do
a note of the IP address of the computer. To do this open command prompt, type ipconfig and press to enter. This displays the IP address, make a note of it.

To manually assign the IP address and default gateway, follow these steps:
    a. in the system, right click on network icon tray. Choose the open network and sharing.

    b. click on change adapter settings

    c. right-click on the card's wireless connection and click on properties.

    d. Double click on Internet Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) Protocol and assign the IP address manually.
Example: Old Ip address is 192.168.0.1
    Replace the IP 192.168.0.50
    e. leave the subnet mask and default gateway are the same.
    Subnet mask = 255.255.255.0
Gateway by default, would usually 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1
    f. click apply then click Ok and restart the computer and check if it helps to solve the problem.

If the method above does not work, proceed to the next method.

Method 2: I suggest you try the steps from the link given below:

  • a default gateway is not available in windows 7

    G ' Day,.

Although Windows 7 works and looks good, there is a major problem which threatens to derail the whole experience for me.

Several times a day, the default gateway becomes unavailable, which means that the PC running Windows 7 loses internet connectivity. At the same time, other PC, running Vista, continue to operate normally. It is a PC with a WiFi connection and another that is normally connected.

Here are the details of my network controllers (are there two).

The problem is solved by manually fix the problem when Windows 7 detects that the default gateway is not available to the general public and resets the network 2 controller.

  • A default gateway is not available.

I use a netbook Acer Aspire One Windows 7 Starter - running for now; I anticipate uprade - and a Atheros AR5B93 wireless card. Unfortunately, I am often unable to access the internet. When Windows runs an AutoFix, it indicates that the "default gateway is not available." It resets the network adapter, but that only solves the problem for a very short time, sometimes only a few seconds. How can I fix this problem more permanently? Thanks in advance.

    Hi Cazio,

Thanks for posting. What model Acer do you currently use there are many Acer One. If possible can you check with the manufacter and check if there is a updated wireless for your Windows 7 driver. In addition, this problem occur when you are connected with a network cable?

  • Losing Internet connection because of the default gateway is not available.

I keep losing internet connection and when I run the troubleshooter, it comes up saying "the default gateway is not available". I have an HP with Intel dv6985se. I was advised to do the following:
I had the same problems of chance which I fixed it by simple disabling 'SLEEP ON DISCONNECT' SideScalng disconnect

1 Access Device Manager (Control Panel > system and security > system > Device Manager)
    2. expand the network adapters
    3. Select the adapter that you are using (if more than 1 Repeat step 4 to 8 for each adapter)
    4. right click and select Properties
    5 click Advanced
    6. If you have installed Nvidia Ethernet configuration click the button
    7. scroll to the bottom of the list and disable the device sleep on disconnection and receive Side Scaling
    8. save the settings

I appreciate this help info but none of this applies to my computer has. In my device under 'Network adapters' Manager, I do not have Nvidia, Asus and AMD, which is listed under my network cards is "Intel Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN" and "Realtek RTL8101E Family PCI - E Fast Ethernet NIC (NDIS 6.20)".

The help that I've provided says disabling "Sleep on Disconnect" and "Receive Side Scaling"... or those who are in one of my "adapter properties tab advanced options" for both my Intel and Realtek... no where does say anything about sleep on disconnect or side scaling.

I was online with HP cat many times and Ive tried the options they have provided that is basically what I've found here but nothing has worked so far! My computer is 1 1/2 old and is preinstalled with Vista 64-bit. Recently, I have completely restored my computer with Windows 7 64 bit, and ever since then, I can't download anything or talk to HP or any kind of help because I lose the connection. Could someone please help me solve this problem... to be frank and honest he pisses me off beyond words that I never had this problem when I'm on Vista!

I don't know what else I can provide to better help me to solve this problem, but if anyone would like more information on what programs etc, my computer has let me know and I will provide the information. Below, I'm pasting the info I received through my history of troubleshooting like a Notepad of paper Network Diagnostic and Route.Print document.

If the error does not recur in safe mode then there is probably a startup item or service causes the error. Follow the steps on the following link to locate the item or service responsible for the error:

  • a default gateway is not available windows 7 32 bit

I use a router to connect to the internet with other users usually my internet connection function normally but last 2 weeks I lost my internet connection several times a day and after repair the connection, this message if poster not available after search default gateway, I noticed that one of the users always connect everything by disconnecting me (the router is in my house) I think he's using the type of software to disconnect me. is anyway to stop it, control my internet connection? waiting for a response. SORRY FOR THE INCONVENIENCE.

    Hello

Stop playing with the router is a social problem and not a Windows problem, there is nothing we can do about it.

  • Windows 8 "The Default Gateway is not available"

Like so many others, I'm also having this problem.  The basics are as follows:

Windows 8 Pro on a custom platform.
I have been playing Guild Wars 2, which has frozen, requiring a reset.
After the reboot, my network connection is over worked.
I use a wired connection to a wireless access point.
The access point is set up correctly (verifiable on other systems).
I use a static configuration (DHCP is not an option), it is set up correctly and worked for a year or two so far.
Connect the PC directly to the router is not an option.
The unknown network error seems to only show after sending the data to the router.
Auto repair resets the adapter and clear the error (... default gateway).
Try to do something online will again cause the error.
The error prevents the PC access utility based on the web of the access point.

I refreshed Windows (I wouldn't recommend to anyone, you will lose all your installed programs), and the rest of the error.
    I have already run sfc.
I have already confirmed that the ethernet cable is good, like the rest of my networking equipment.
I have power rolled and all restarted.
I also disabled the PC capacity to put the network card to sleep.

Is Microsoft to resolve this error still more closely?  Someone had permanent chance correct their mistakes?

I managed to fix it.  It turns out that it was not at all a software problem.  I installed an extra fan after that Guild Wars 2 crashed because I had the space and the fan.  Apparently, the draw .35a on the pins of the fan as an option, on the motherboard, caused the network card stop to identify any type of network connection (they are very close).  I completely forgot that I installed it, and being unrelated to a piece of hardware, it never occurred to me.  Especially since my diet is more than sufficient for my PC.  As soon as I removed the fan and started the computer, the adapter immediately recognized my network and connected to the internet.  Next time, I'll just use a Dispatcher and hang them up to the fan controller.

    Thanks for the reply.

  • Error Windows 8 "default gateway is not available".

Original title: standaardgateway is niet available

    Windows 8

now Internet then stops and begins again with appreciated: says "standardgateway is not available.
What can be the problem? Who knows the real solution?
    Default gateway is your router/modem

    McAfee can cause this

If you do not have McAfee try resetting your modem/router
Call your ISP and tell them that your router is doing this and ask for replacement
  • Windows 7 default gateway is not available

I have excellent connections to MI-Fi wireless or your router (home or office) but no internet connection by using Windows 7 on netbook Dell. I tried to understand other assignments similar to my problem, but the answers are too technical.  is there a solution for Dummies?  my connections network does not show a connection to the Local network, if that helps.  After you follow the instructions in troubleshooting, I get a message that says default gateway is unavailable.

    Hello

    1. Since when are you facing this problem?
    2. is it works much earlier on this computer?
    3. don't you make changes on your computer before this problem started?
    4. you have from any other computer connected to the same network? If logged in, you are able to access the Internet on the other computer?
In the meantime, follow these steps and check.
    Step 1:
First, you try to run the troubleshooter from network built into windows 7 and check if it can help solve you the problem of connection to the Internet.
Access the link below and follow the steps.
    Step 2:
If the problem persists, you can manually assign the IP address and the default gateway and check if it works very well. Before assigning the IP address and the default gateway manually, make a note of the IP address on the computer. To do this open command prompt, type ipconfig and press to enter. This displays the IP address, make a note of it.
To manually assign the IP address and default gateway, follow these steps:
    a. in the system, right click on network icon tray. Choose the open network and sharing.
    b. right-click on the connection to the Local network and click Properties. c. double-click Protocol Internet Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and assign the IP address manually.
Example: Old Ip address is 192.168.0.1
    Replace the IP 192.168.0.50
    d. let the subnet mask and default gateway are the same.
    Subnet mask = 255.255.255.0
Gateway by default, would usually 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1
    e. click apply then click Ok and restart the computer and check if it helps to solve the problem.
    Step 3:
You can also try to contact the manufacturer of the router and try to reset the settings of the router and check if that helps you solve the problem.

    Step 4:
Also try to uninstall the network card in Device Manager, then restart the computer. Later allow Windows to install generic drivers and check if it works very well.

Before you uninstall the network card, I you suggests to create a System Restore Point manually, so that in this case, a problem occurs when performing these steps, you can always perform a system restore.

Follow the steps below to uninstall and reinstall the network card.
    a. click on start
    b. in the type of search box of start of "devmgmt.msc" and press enter
    (c) in Device Manager, expand network adapters
    d. right-click on the network adapter and uninstall.
    e. restart the computer, and then reinstall the network card.
When uninstalling device drivers make sure you put a check mark against 'delete the driver for this device '.

  • Network connection keeps dropping, telling me "default gateway is not available".

My internet connection has recently started to fall all the time. When I disconnect and reconnect it starts works fine, but will soon fall again. No other computers in the House are affected.

Troubleshooting leads to the statement 'default gateway is unavailable', which attaches quickly and easily by restarting the connection, but he continues to to now (on average that will cancel undimmed 5-10 minutes at the present time, although this varies).

I'm not an expert, but please someone any ideas what I can do? I have Windows 7 and my network driver is Realtek RTL8188CE Wireless LAN 802.11n PCI-E NIC. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks!

In addition to what Adam said. If your router's DNS is corrupted or is just too full. Yes, it can become too full. Then this happens often. You can reset your router to clear the DNS cache by either just unplug it from the power source and Internet connection, wait a few minutes and then it reboot. Or if it has an internal battery then push in a "Reset" hole on the back of it somewhere. Do not keep it pushed in cuz you have to reload everything for him and reconfigure. Just push in and he pushed. Make sure that you remove all the temporary internet files on your pc. IE does in the Tools/Options. And Firefox does in the Options. Personally, I put Firefox and IE automatically deletes all cookies, files and everything at the end. Chrome will do this also in the options. Or you could make a right click on my computer and click on tools and there should be an option to create more space on your hard drive that will get rid of all that. There is an easier way to do what I use, but you really should know what you're doing before you do it. Once you have done all this. Oh yes, make sure you do before that the router is turned off and unplugged. And make sure that you are not connected to any internet access point which I should say now to find an updated driver for your wireless network card before internet break and all, but do not install the updated driver again. Once you have managed to get rid of the useless * browsers save then it's a great time to use these tools in the my computer properties and use the defragmentation tool if you do not already have a third part one. Once defragmenting is complete. Then install the updated driver. After the updated driver is installed, shut down the pc. Don't do not restart as windows will ask after the update, simply close it. Then after the computer is turned off, then restart our router/modem and let it get fully online then start your computer. Now you should start from a clean slate. If you keep losing connection is that you have adware/malware or virus or someone else uses your wireless access point and hogging your bandwidth. If you do not have a password for your wireless network and then put an on it. Usually, if there is so much traffic through a certain access point, it overloads the router/modem and of coarse you get started from or whatever. In addition, you use a class N wireless adapter. So is your router/modem rank N? If this isn't the case, then you lose just that you can use the additional bandwidth. If your modem or router is grade G your adapter works only in category G. This means that 54mbs compared to the potential of concerts with degree N.

    Hello Victor,.

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I would be grateful if you could provide us with the following information so that we can help you further:

    1. What troubleshooting steps all use to solve the problem? Do you use network troubleshooting?
    2. Do you have any other computer connected to the same network? If Yes, are you able to access the Internet on the other computer?
This problem may occur because of problems with the router or the obsolete network drivers. I would suggest trying the following methods and check if they help:

Method 1: Test method 1 incase you haven't tried other wise network troubleshooting, go to the method 2

Access the link below and follow the steps.

Method 2: If the problem persists, you can manually assign the IP address and the default gateway and check if it works very well. Before assigning the IP address and the default gateway manually, make a note of the IP address on the computer. To do this open command prompt, type ipconfig and press to enter. Method 4: Also try to uninstall the network card in Device Manager, then restart the computer. Later allow Windows to install generic drivers and check if it works very well.

Before you uninstall the network card, I you suggests to create a System Restore Point manually, so that in this case, a problem occurs when performing these steps, you can always perform a system restore.

Note: When you use system restore to restore the computer to a previous state, programs
and updates that you have installed are removed.

Hope the suggestions above helps. Please post back the results.
