"A dynamic link library (DLL) initialization routine failed." NVIDIA drivers

So I recently wanted to install new NVIDIA drivers on my computer.  The installer downloaded completely and at the time where he finished extract the files of the error "a dynamic link library (DLL) initialization routine failed."  Since then, I uninstalled my drivers and I can't always install the new drivers.  Now I'm stuck with no driver at all.

I asked this question on NVIDIA support page and have not received a response, so I came here to ask.  Help is very appreciated.

Thank you

I understand your willingness to help me, but I have advanced and reinstalled windows. Got the new driver installed and everything works fine.

Thank you

  • Accidentally deleted a dynamic link library (DLL) file and the need to replace one possibly other system files - what is the best method?

I did a system restore to a point before that my main user account has been established.  I had to set up a new user, and then it was suggested that to copy all the data of the user "existing" to the newly created user.  When I did this it's not well at all and some DLL files have been corrupted or deleted or not connecting correctly to the user of your choice.  I actually then did a restore of the system to the last restore point.  However, given that SR does not change the data, I was stuck with the wrong DLL and other system files.  I thought I had stupid test because I had backed up data.  I tried to restore to an earlier point (using Windows backup and restore).  Unfortunately the restore will not work and I get the following error: "a systematic failure of the initialization of the Dynamic Link Library (DLL).  I need to repair or replace the corrupt to get the system back and then protected files again.  I'd appreciate any help!

    Hi Tom,

I appreciate your efforts on this issue.

Wow.dll is a library file that is responsible for the parasite main functions implementation and execution of its destructive payload. The file wow.dll cannot run by itself and therefore must be loaded with the help of some executable files. However, certain parasites reconfigures the operating system or installs wow.dll as a plugin, so that the system or certain applications it load automatically at startup.

The wow.dll file is installed and used by Wowcraft.e. In most cases, wow.dll is responsible for all the harmful actions that takes the pest. Remove this file will immediately terminate the parasite or partially disable it. This is why the wow.dll file must be deleted manually. If you cannot erase it, consider using the removers spyware recommended, which will get rid of wow.dll and associated parasites for you.

In some cases a presence of wow.dll does not mean that your system is infected. The file may belong to some legitimate applications and therefore must remain intact. If in doubt, please scan the file wow.dll you regular spyware remover or antivirus program.

  • LabVIEW 8.6.1: nilvaiu.dll failed DLL initialization routine

I have just upgraded to LV 8.6.1 on Windows Vista, and all my routines DAQmx won't load with the message:

    Error loading "nilvaiu.dll.

A dynamic link library (DLL) initialization routine failed.

According to some old posts, I tried to add write permissions to all of the files from C:\Program NIUninstaller Instruments, but that did not help.

I also uninstalled DAQmx - LV 8.6 support and reinstalled but that has no effect.

I also tried to run 'regsvr32' on the DLL, but failed with a similar message.

    Everyone knows this?

    Is there a solution?

    Jason

I encountered the same error of nilvaiu.dll after you have reinstalled the drivers LV2009SP1 and NI of DVD 2010 - DS1. While working through the error with me, Ben, AND found support this resource: ' software failure OR when PAE (physical address Extension) is enabled on the Windows operating systems '. (Document ID 54D9I6M6). This turns out be the problem of the root of both my 'nidevmon.exe' failure on boot failure and "nilvaiu.dll" on DAQmx support: recent DAQ libraries are incompatible with the enabled physical address extension.

I am running Windows Server 2003 with 4 GB of RAM. PAE is enabled by default with Server 2003. (Look at system-> general to see if the EAP are enabled: it is just below the RAM.) As Microsoft recommends that EAP not be disabled because it ensures the safety of execution, I followed the second of the two suggested methods.

I've edited the boot.ini file (System-> properties-> Advanced-> startup and Recovery-> Edit), added/maxmem = 4096 for the start command and restarted. Nidevmon.exe both nilvaiu.dll errors have been corrected with this change.

System-> general reports now 3.25 GB of RAM (vs 4.00 before) so I lost a little more memory than expected. I can watch using the /burnmemory switch, that Microsoft recommends more/maxmem because maxmem "does not take into account memory hole". I'm trying /burnmemory = 16 now.

  • "450 ordinal is not found in the dynamic link library urlmonn.dll" or something. What does that mean?

I downloaded and installed the windows 7 transformation pack and then when I removed it a few months later he repeated this message whenever I started a program.

. DLL or Dynamic Link Library files are collections of routines or function that are accessible and used by one or more programs as needed. The Ordinal Point is an entry point or address where a program can expect to find a specific routine or function. Different versions of a. DLL can have different collections of routines that is held inside and as such, addresses can vary.

It would seem that the "transformation pack" has another (e.g. updated...?) version of the urlmon.dll file and 'remove' the transformation pack made the remaniing version on your XP with problems.

You could try the reinstatement of the existing urlmon.dll. Tap on the Windows key + R or click on Start, run - paste or type in the following in the text Open run dialog box.

    regsvr32 urlmon.dll

... and click OK. If this does not resolve your problem, you can also try a full System File Check. Tap on the Windows key + R or click on Start, run - paste or type in the following in the text Open run dialog box.

    cmd

... and click OK. At the opening of the command window, type the following,

    sfc/scannow

..., and then tap on . The process will take a few minutes depending on the speed of your computer. This process' Scans integrity of system protected all files and repairs files with problems when possible ".

Please note that you mentioned a urlmonn.dll. I'm not familiar with this specific. DLL and have provided guidance for the reinstatement of the urlmon.dll instead. If the stray file is indeed urlmonn.dll please adjust the instructions accordingly.

First of all, you can not install SP3, except if you have SP2 installed successfully. Since you have SP1a, you need install SP2, then try to install the SP3 and IE8.

In addition, this can happen if your SP service pack is damaged/corrupted.

I thought somehow it may relate to a recent update that has been accepted for Skype on my system.  So I uninstalled Skype.  Attempts to reinstall Skype have failed.  the installed app, but I cannot arrive at a login screen.  Instead of the normal Skype window, I have just the bottom of loading in a web browser.
