A few questions about Satellite Pro P4600

Hey ^ ^

I have a few questions on my Satellite Pro 4600

1. How do I remove the keyboard of an intern?

2. How can I open the laptop, to add a pci card? or watsch the CPU?

THX!

Hello

to remove the keyboard, simply remove the long plastic on top of the keyboard cover. Just take a flat blade screwdriver gently push the upper part where the F1 - F12 keys are under the plastic cover and the elevator that plastic cover.

Why do you want to open your machine? You want to install an additional WIFI card or what? And what do you mean with "watsch" the CPU?

Could you please clarify it?

THX :)

Welcome them

    Check this HowTo:

    > 2.) I want to upgrade to more memory. 2GB are less for quick work. Where I could find information on the memory controller-p. e.g. voltage, Timings... to pass new memory to 4 GB.
I think that the use of the laptop Chipset Mobile Intel® GL960 Express. This chipset support only 2 GB of RAM and 4 GB of RAM are therefore not possible

    > 3.) My PSSD1E shows me in Windows7 - systems a empty SATA - controller hardware.
    > Is it possible to have an option for outgoing-eg SATA-OUT for external device connection?
Some L300 can be equipped with a second HDD. Checks if the second Bay of HARD drive (at the bottom of the unit) contains some connectors. You will see the connector on the HARD drive, then the second HDD if possible.

  • A few questions on Satellite Pro S300-121

    Hello

We bought 12 of these laptops last July, I installed Windows XP Pro but have had problems with about 5 of them on and outside since then. The main problem is no output to the screen, power light turns on but no screen output, only medium difficulty is to press and hold the power button, close and turn on and maybe 2nd or third time it works. I have check the VGA settings in the BIOS and it is defined both as when I put it on auto it was even more of an issue.

I note also with these portable 5 BIOS pose as I set the SATA mode to IDE when installed XP but from time to time, just the BIOS that resets and passes it to AHCI this cause the laptop to blue screen, it is easily fixed, but I wouldn't keep doing this!

The last time that that's happened, this morning the BIOS clock has been fixed at a date in 2008, I know this indicates a dead battery but I have the same questions about 5 of these laptops possibly a bad batch of batteries of BIOS (I understand these things happen).
If anyone else has had similar problems with this model and if so could you let me know please.

    Andy

Are these laptops left alone for a long time? Maybe the CMOS battery is empty, what can happen faster if you leave the laptop into sleep/Hibernation Mode and the main battery is flat.

  • A few questions about Satellite A100

    "A100" computer laptop with Vista A software? Â £349.00

This is the laptop that I am looking for my partner, but I'm not really savvy, I have a few questions which I hope you can help me with computer.

First of all, my partner has just started a small business and she will need it for email and internet surfing and download songs (Please keep in mind, I don't have a lot of money to play with) this laptop will be all good for her? Speed and a lot of memory is not what really matters.

Secondly, this laptop can burn music and DVDs on a disc?

Third, it is a good price? the laptop is for sale with LITTLEWOODS and I can still go down 10%.

Please help as soon as possible because I need to order it in the next few days, please, do not forget to budget and the need for a half decent mid-range laptop.

Mant thanks for your help in this matter

    Russell

    Hi Russell,

From your description of the use to which this laptop will be, I would have no concern that this should work great. You say exactly what A100 model you propse to buy, but I think they all had an optical drive DVD - RW installed so that they should all be able to burn CDs and DVDs in an adequate way. With regard to Internet access and e-mail, the A100 will be quite able to do both functions.

A £349 price is extremely competitive, given that most of the models seem to retail at around the label has £400 with a 10% discount axtra I would waste no time in pulling it.

By the way, welcome to the forum, it is an excellent source of information and help.

    Kind regards

  • Question about Satellite Pro L100 battery

I have a Satellite Pro L100 with a model PA3450U-1BRS battery. My friend gave my number model PA342OU-1BRS L10 battery.

Would this work in my laptop? What means 4300mAh? Mine has 2000mAh? Thanks for any help.

    Hello

I don't know if it would work, the most important thing is that the tension specific to your machine. The battery fits in your machine (I mean in your battery housing?).

The mAh xxxx means the ability, so if you have more capacity then your machine will run longer on battery.

But if I were you I wouldn to experiment with my machine, because if you put the battery in the machine and batt damage your system, then you haven´t no warranty and your computer will become a heavy paperweight.

    See you soon

  • Eco utility + a few questions about Satellite P855

Hi guys, I'm happy user of Satellite P855-11 q. Unfortunately, due to software issues, I had to reinstall Windows on my computer system. This resulted in the following problems:
-I can't use the software utility eco-, I downloaded the driver from the Toshiba website, but it is not working properly. An error occurs all the time, not to mention the fact that the eco utility button doesn't work at all!
-I don't know how I can use my backlight led (is there a driver for that?)
-FN button does not work for the dimming / brightening up the screen.

Thank you in advance for help!

Just a question at the beginning: you have installed original recovery image (WIN7 64-BIT HOME PREMIUM) that you got with your laptop or your own version of the OS?

    Another question

I noticed a slow device, why?

    > Can I remove the battery and use via the charger only
Yes, but I don t understand why you should do it.
    > Is this the best or what?
Better to do what? In my opinion you should not do this. Leave the battery inside.

    Which device? What is slow?

  • A few questions about satellite L10-186 and L10-102

Some stores in my city model offers a L10-186. The technical parameters are described the same L10 - 102 (only the amount of RAM is different).
I can't find detailed information because the L10-186 model does NOT exist on Toshiba pages (!)

    Nobody knows:
    1. what exactly are the differences between L10-186 and L10 - 102?
    2. If I buy an extra battery - universal battery fits all laptop L10 for example can I use it with L10-101 too?

Alternatively, if Toshiba has a support email address in order to write and ask? I can't find contact e-mail with Toshiba experts anywhere.

Thanks for your help in advance,
    Peter Thaler

    Hi Piotr

I guess satellite L10-186 is your specific country and you can't find it on the site of Toshiba Europe. If you find any information on the Toshiba site please try to find a dealer in your country that sells this laptop. I checked on Google Ant lots from the southeast of Europe.

The only difference I have found is the RAM. L10 - 102 has only 256 MB of RAM and 512 MB of RAM L10 - 186.
As far as I know that the battery needs to adapt to the L10 series.

    Good luck!

  • A few questions about Satellite M series Starter

    Hi guys,.

It is the story of my computer.

He used to have video problems then they changed the motherboard. It happened about 2 years ago.

It worked fine until recently it just started in place.

It started with a stop randomly down. He did this a little sound "zoom/zip" and the power is just out.
After that, I turn on the computer, but nothing on the screen, and I only hear the fan classes.
After that, when I turn on the computer, it shows the startup with device selection screen. Sometimes I can choose HARD drive sometimes it freezes right here.

Also, if it helps, the computer laptop doesn t it if I have only the power plug in it. I need of battery and power cord.

Any ideas? I tried to take the power and restart after. Still nothing.

    Thanks in advance

What model of laptop do you have? It is important that you know.

It's not easy to say what is causing the error. It could be RAM, motherboard and CPU. In your case I would test the RAM with Memtest86. You can download it here [www.memtest86.com].
Try it and post your result. Then we'll see if it s the RAM or not.

But to be honest, I think it's a motherboard problem but check RAM first.

  • A few questions about Satellite P200 - 1FC

    Hello

I am planning to buy Satellite P200 - 1FC but I want to know:
-What is the hard drive speed (RPM), is 4200 or 5400?
-What is the capacity of the battery 6 cells, 9 cells and how many mAH?
Does anyone have this laptop battery and haw do under normal conditions of use?

    Thank you
    Ivan

    Hello

I m not the owner of a Satellite P200 - 1FC but I found a very useful information on this notebook on the official page of Toshiba.
    http://UK.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/JSP/productPage.do?PRODUCT_ID=137284

I have goggled autour also and have seen this info:

    > - What is hard drive speed (RPM), 4200 or 5400?
    250GB (4200 RPM) SATA 12.5 mm

    > What is the capacity of 6-cell, 9-cell battery and how many mAH?
6 cells but the AMM is not known to me

Maximum range: up to 02:20 pm
But you should know that it is only an approximate value, because the battery working time depends on the use of the laptop.
Using this laptop you can expect a time of 1.5 hours battery work

    Best regards

  • A few questions about Connect Pro

Hello. We are interested in the implementation of a Web-based solution for the webinars where make us teaching sessions (training for adults). We have an instructor who wants to do a webinar with the following requirements:

    • She wants to have a class of participants on-site, but also be able to broadcast to the users of the Web. How is that possible with Connect Pro? A webcam is stationary, so we will need to have a camera that follows she took while she speaks and that stream via Connect Pro somehow.
    • She needs to share videos with the students. What is the quality of the video shared via Connect Pro?
    • Must all participants be computer headphones to be able to talk to him? Or the microphones/speakers built into computers creates a problem of echo?
    • If it has two others who will speak at the presentation, each of them need a named license?

    Thank you for your help.

Hopefully, I'll share some teaching experiences Connect direct and through remote sessions:

    1. A mixture of teaching can be a delicate balance. better to have someone manage the cats Q & A and fileding quesitons. There are a of highend video conference cameras that track automaticall; It can be more profitable with a real person follow his movements through the room.
    2. The shared maybe video not HD quality. Best quality captured, better they see. Overall, the video I have is at the same level as the standard web videos. Best quality will require more bandwidth.
    3. Headsets are recommended. If they use the built-in microphones, then at the very LEAST they should use headphones in order to minimize the problem of echo. If those who speak are in the room, they should certainly use helmets.
    4. No, they don't need a special license to talk. Microphone rights can be given to each participant. Presenters automatically have these rights.

    Hope these answers help.

  • Satellite L650-11R - a few questions about this

    Hello there :-)

I have a few questions about my new L650.

I've never had Toshiba notebook before so I apologize if some of these "quirks" are actually quite normal on this laptop. I really want to hear the views of other users L650.

    1)
First of all, by the time I turned it on I saw gradient thin (1-2 mm) along the right edge of the screen that goes from the bottom up. Maybe "degraded" isn't the right word, but it seems that since two or three pixels are kind of discoloration or lose brightness/sharpness to the edge along the straight bezel. It is not really that visible, looks like the colors are desaturated a bit here or brightness is a bit lacking. He can be seen everywhere (bios or no color in Windows, but better in the lighter background).
The left side (or other) seems ok, all this along the right edge is somewhat suspicious. If one can compare? I don't know if it's something to worry about or is just supposed to be like that.

    2)
The other thing I noticed heating of the processor (Intel i3 330M) and GPU (ATi Mobility Radeon 5650). It's pretty hot here right now (I would say that the temperature is around 28 degrees Celsius when using cell phones). He is sitting on the hard surface (table) and nothing is blocking the vents.
However, at "rest" (surf the web & regular light stuff), average CPU temp hovers around 58 ° C. It usually goes from 45 to 62 in just a few minutes after starting, and then I can hear and see (Toshiba PC Health Monitor) evacuate the kicks in. Temp goes back to 50 +, event stops and then the temp rises to 60 + until the vent is used again.
During load full (Prime95 or some games), CPU is going all the way up to 75 degrees (the highest being 77). Fan runs at 75 to 77% during this time, never go faster.

GPU idling is usually around 5 degrees above temp CPU (62-65). During full load (for example. Benchmark of Far Cry 2), I see a lot of stuttering with the latest drivers Catalyst and DX10 (not sure if the stuttering has something to do with heat), otherwise it is ok (no artifacts or anything like that). Temp of GPU during the loading goes up to 74-75, fan speed is locked at 30%, the frequency of the heart 5650 is 450 MHz. left side of the laptop (vent and below) is pretty hot, while the keyboard is warm (or slightly warmer who who).

These time seems correct and safe in the long term? I'd rather events works all the time (they aren't really very strong) and keeping time less than 50, but there are just wishful pious bios control events and I can't control not the bios. :-)

    3)
This is just General related products. :-)
Official specifications of Toshiba L650 say ATi 5650 (between other low range GPU), but I saw a few specifications calling for there 5730 (same model 11R). Is there really a Satellite L650 with ATi 5730 GPU models?

Sorry for the long post, I tried to include the best possible description that I could do. :-)

    Thank you in advance.

    Thanks for the additional info!

  • A few questions about the Satellite A100 PSAANE

    Hi friends,

I have a Toshiba Satellite A 100 - PSAANE with Vista Home Basic preinstalled in it.
Now, I have a few questions... I mention below: -.

    (1) if I want to format my laptop, I need a CD to install for Vista Home basic... then I don't have this Toshiba CD when I bought the laptop. So how do? question: How can I format it?

    (2) can I change my Vista Home Basic to windows XP? I think it's much faster than this one. is it advisable?

    (3) I have a GB of RAM in the laptop. Increase the RAM? I think that my laptop has become to slow down. is it advisable?

    (4) and on my screen, everytime I try to change my profile screen to windows Classic view, my screen begins to blink. and after a while, the screen turns off. So I can't change that. I put the color scheme of windows vista only. What to do about that?

Please help me friends. Thanks in advance.

    Kind regards

    Hello

Here, a few questions about the number:

    (1) usually, you should get the Vista Toshiba Recovery DVD. If you didn t receive this DVD then you can order it here https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx or you could install the disc of Microsoft Vista.

    (2) of course, you can do this. I think that Win XP drivers can be downloaded from the Toshiba driver page.

    (3) Yes, you can upgrade the RAM. For more information, see your manual or search on this forum for similar topics

    (4) maybe it s associated with the graphics driver. Check if you can update. I would recommend additional check if you are using the latest version of the BIOS

    Welcome them

  • A few questions about Toshiab reocvery disk for Satellite P300-133

    Hello guys,.
I had a few questions about unpleasant surprises of recovery:

(* 1) * I just make recovery DVD using Toshiba Recovery Disk Creator and he asked initially for 2 DVDs - but when one has been done it does not require a second blank DVD. Is it possible all the Windows Vista system files to write on 1 DVD?

(* 2) * if I could reinstall Windows Vista using recovery of HARD drive option (by pressing F8) without using the recovery DVD?

(* 3) * HARD drive partitions that will be formatted (just system C: or C: and E :) using HARD drive recovery?

(* 4) * what is DVD - Image of the hard drives or the installation of Vista recovery files?

Its pretty bad idea to not include BONES on DVD when I paid for it.
Thanks for all the Toshiba problems :(

    1. I think the recovery disk creator means 2 CDs. I also have a Portege M700 with Windows Vista and a DVD. I got it and after that, I have a clean install of Vista with all the drivers and tools of Toshiba. Nothing is missing.

    2. Yes, you can reinstall Vista using recovery of HARD drive option when you press F8 at startup. You don't need the recovery DVDs, but you should create a when your HARD drive get some errors or something else. If you need a new recovery DVDs, you paid for one.

3 HARD drive and complete partitions will be formatted, so backup your data first on a DVD disk external DRIVE, USB stick or something else.
After the reinstallation, you have factory settings.

    4. the recovery DVDs is an image of the HARD disk on the factory settings. If you perform a recovery, there are all the drivers and tools are already installed. Of course, on the disk are files of installations of Vista, but you can use this DVD on your Satellite P300. The disc cannot be used on another Satellite or on a PC.

If you have any other questions, take a look in the user manual. There are a number in the formations of the recovery. It s in Chapter 3.

  • Recently bought a laptop computer; A few questions about the offer Upgrade to Windows 8

I have a few questions about the Upgrade of Windows 8 offer for new computers.  I recently bought a Toshiba Satellite S855-S5268 of amazon.com, which came with Windows 7 Home Premium.  Toshiba already has a beta version of drivers and utilities for Windows 8 for the S855 on their Web site.

    (1) I bought my laptop in July of this year, and I've not yet registered for 8 Windows Upgrade offer with Microsoft.  Am I still eligible to receive the upgrade, if I sign up soon?
    (2) if I buy the upgrade through this offer, I'll be able to download an ISO file so I can burn the installation media, or do I need to upgrade to Windows 7?
    (3) if I will be able to burn the installation media, I'll be able to erase my hard drive and do a clean install of Windows 8 (which I'd rather do, I have a lot of backups of my data).  I am aware that I would probably need to provide my product key Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit OEM during the new installation, because it is an upgrade and not a full version; This isn't a big deal, because my Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit OEM product key is stuck at the bottom of my laptop.
    (4) my current copy of Windows 7 is activated by seeing my BIOS (I have a traditional BIOS, not a UEFI).  If I had to switch to Windows 8 and decide then I'd rather back in Windows 7, for example, a few months later, I'll be able to do that (I burned recovery of Windows 7 with the Toshiba utility disks, which I did), and Windows 7 will continue to activate by seeing my BIOS, even after the installation (and later remove) Windows 8?
    Thank you very much!

Yes, the registration period is between June 2, 2012 to January 31, 2013.
    (2) if I buy the upgrade through this offer, I'll be able to download an ISO file so I can burn the installation media, or do I need to upgrade to Windows 7?

Yes, the Upgrade Wizard of Windows 8 will allow you to create a bootable DVD or you can grab the ESD file and save it.

Yes and there are better ways to reinstall Windows 8 without using the installation disc, you can use the reset and refresh.

These steps will take you through refreshing your PC:

    · Press the Windows key + C on your keyboard to show the charms (if you use a touch screen: touch the right edge of your screen and drag your finger to the left)

    · Click settings

    · Click change PC settings

    · Click general in the left column

    · Under refresh your PC without affecting your files, click Start

Then follow the instructions that will be provided on-screen to cool your PC.

As long as you have a recovery disk which you should create or use the construction in the recovery partition, Yes, it will self activate.
    Thank you very much!
