A floppy drive is in my computer when no floppy drive is present in the system

Hello

My system is as follows:

PC x 64 ACPI
Vista Home Premium 64 - bit SP2
M3N78 Pro motherboard ASUS
2 x AMD Athlon 64 x 2 processor Dual Core 6400 +.
4 GB OF RAM
2 x 500 GB Seagate Barracuda Hard Drives (ST3500820AS)
NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT graphics card

A recent power outage at left me with several problems when restarting my pc. It was notably BIOS reorganize my boot sequence so that my drive C and drive D swapped places, ASUS Express Gate allowing itself when it had previously been disabled and apparently adding a floppy to my system drive (visible in my computer and Device Manager) when none are physically present. Some alterations in the Bios allowed me to change my boot back to its original and correct order sequence and disable ASUS Express Gate, and therefore no longer issues. However, I had absolutely no chance to get rid of the ghost floppy. My only solution is to disable the floppy drive controller in Device Manager (I don't know if it was present before installing SP2 or the power cut or not) in order to remove the entry from the workstation. However, this means that it is always visible as an inactive device in Device Manager. If I try to uninstall both the floppy drive and the controller of the device, Vista Manager merely note them appropriate drivers and kindly re - install them for me, placing the drive in my computer ghost floppy drive and Device Manager. Short of reformatting or the upgrade to Windows 7 to see if I can fix this bug annoying, I'm at a loss as to how to proceed. Any help much appreciated.

See you soon

Jon

If you have even disabled the floppy controller in the BIOS?
In addition, to replace your CMOS battery (typically a CR2032 coin cell and available everywhere.)  That's why your BIOS to reset the values by default when the power is out - his battery died.
That won't help with this particular problem right now "However, it will prevent it from happening again.

HTH,
Chris

    Too generic a question, can you clarify considerably more for us? Your question could be reformulated in the following way and always be true?

    "I can't start my computer once he has had a BSOD. Something overheated, but I don't know. I removed the CMOS battery and replaced in order to asure me that a bad overclock on a core component has not caused the problem. Now, it restarts correctly, what is / was the problem? »

    Hello

    We have a generator function SRS DS345.

    I just downloaded the driver NOR for the instrument on http://sine.ni.com/apps/utf8/niid_web_display.download_page?p_id_guid=E3B19B3E9149659CE034080020E748....

    After installation, the DS345 appears in MAX, and I can well communicate with him.

    However, if I run the srds345 to Started.vi, I get an error "location information insufficient (Hex 0xBFFF0011) or the device or resource is not present in the system" from initialize it with Options.vi srds345 sub - vi.

    The only change I did Exchange address GPIB 14 to 19, which is our function generator GPIB address. In addition, the

    Functions of SRS DS345 generator of function palette is empty, even after you restart LabVIEW (see attachment). I'm using LabVIEW 8.5.1.

    Your help in resolving this issue is appreciated. Thank you.

    Best regards

    Have you installed the driver from LabVIEW or copied directly from inst.lib?

    The first is easier, and you don't have to restart LV more...

    Error in a not filled gpib address points. I have not checked if this driver has a resource name visa or a string of gpib address old but in the first case, try the little triangle on the right at the slect address instead of by hand.

  • I believe that when I had my computer reset Windows Vista has been removed from the system due to my computer with a virus. Now, I need to know how can I do to restore Windows Vista in my system?

    I need help restoring Windows Vista on my computer.  Please help this is finals week and I need my computer to take my final.

    Vista recovery media obtain and/or use the Partition Recovery Vista on your computer to the factory settings .

    There is no Vista free download legal available.

    Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

    Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.
    See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.
    Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...
    Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    Also ask them if it is possible to make the recovery disk/s since the Partition of recovery in case of hard drive failure or System Crash when you're back running.

    They will tell you how to do this.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Every computer manufacturer has their own way of making recovery disk/s.
    Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
    A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
    The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.
    There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.
    If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):
    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu
    When I go to the management of computer disk/storage/management - is not there in XP but it is for Win7.
    How to work various PC and diferent OS?
    If you view the contents of the external drive, I think that the first folder contains a USB driver that you need to install to run properly, if you cannot view the contents of drive I'm sure you can download the driver for Western Digital. I think that the work of readers well on Windows 7 installs with 3 USB ports, but drivers are needed for USB 2.
  • After my computer starts, before that I can log in, the system restarts again. This continues to repeat in a row.
    I have Microsoft XP Professional. My computer is Dell. The new thing is happening now, as when I start the system, it starts normally. Then I go my usual login and password to enter. But before that I can do this, the system restarts again. This goes into endless reboot cycles. I don't know what is happening.
    This is usually caused by a bad deletion of malware on your computer.  Somehow, you have to boot from a CD that allows you to change the file system or the registry files.
    The following link shows how this can be fixed by starting with a BartPE disk (go to paragraph "registry value incorrect that prevents you to log on to your user account in Windows XP?")
    I find this freeware Hirens Boot CD is easier to create and can be used to follow the same steps.
    It seems you are running a software fake Antivirus or fake-SystemRestoration. They pay for nothing, and often their so-called problems reported are false also.
    You should get a decent Antivirus software and check your computer against viruses and malware.
    Check free antivirus: you can get the trial version of Kaspersky Internet Security 2012:
    Hello
    Restore to a larger HARD drive is not a problem if the machine accepts more HARD drive. In this case, unless the BIOS plays with her, nothing would stop you to restore your computer using your backup/restore disc.
