A kind of 'ring' of copper in Ultiboard

I am designing a circular PCB with a pattern of 'target' 3 knots of copper (a central point with two copper rings in gradually larger diameter with a space between nodes). Is this possible with a combination of restricted areas and massive circular?

You can use the style of a circular area of copper fill to create your ring shape.

(1) create a circular area of copper.

(2) enter in its properties (double click or right click-> properties) and change style of filling of emptiness in the tab area of copper.

(3) use the width in the general tab to determine your ring size.

  • Copper ground Ultiboard

    Hi all

I use Ultiboard 12.0 and I need to create a box full of model copper.

I already found some docs on the internet claiming that it was sufficient to change the style of 'fill' of an object in copper. While he was trying, I see this option but when I change the style of pattern that makes no change, the area is always drawn as a strong region. It may be only a display bug, but when I try to print the copper layer it prints a solid.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Kind regards

    Aya,

    Try this:

Right click on the area of copper in which you want a hatch.

then select the type of door you want (copper area tab)

go to the 'general' tab, and then change the width value...

If it is too small or too big, the hatch appears as an area full of copper

    success!

  • I want to create a completely blank copper on a plane in copper.

I want to create a completely blank copper on a plane in copper.

/ When I create a copper box and then select fill 'none' there is always a small ring of copper around the perimeter which I can't delete regardless of what settings I use.

    Hello

There are two ways to do:

    (1) after having placed your aircraft in copper, put you on the layer 'keepin allowed/forbidden zone '.

go it to 'Place' "Keepin-forbidden zone" and draw the shape you want.

Then the area will be cut off from your plane.

You can get errors in DRC with parts and titles in another layer.

This can be avoided, but takes a lot of settings... so I never have that

    (2) instead of having a plan in copper, use copper areas to build your airplane.

You might need to put two or more overlapping region,

So just don't put any copper where you don't want everything.

This solution is somewhat more difficult, but you get errors of DRC on other layers/parts

    Success!

  • The good old Vista 32-bit and 4 GB Ram dilemma.

Then I started to get a grip on computers... (they interest me: P). back in ' 06, when Vista was first released, I bought a new computer from Dell. Meh, the computer was fine, I never really knew what the specifications mean in reality at the time, but the computer was just. Now, ' 09, I learned to change computers in order to increase its performance and what-not. I started to buy adding RAM... like most people do. I bought 2 x 2 GB RAM for a reasonable price and I was very happy to see the speed boost in my computer. I had a stick of 512 MB RAM on the inside so I just took that one and put in two 2 GB of RAM.

I turned on the computer, and my boy I see a big difference. The first thing I notice is that I have only 3.5 GB of RAM which is used by my computer. I do a little research and found out that 3.5 GB is the limit for 32-bit operating systems. I was pretty sad. Anyway, I was still happy with what I got. One thing I noticed after installing the RAM was that most of my stuff was buggy to the top. In my dxdiag.exe, BIOS, PROCESSOR and other stuff as it seemed to say n/d I was puzzled and I also noticed that the display of network connectivity (one on bottom right) told me that I was not connected to a service at all. I was scared, but then my internet worked perfectly well.

After leaving my computer on Defrag, my sound is messed up. Every time I started a program with a kind of ring to it, my sound would stutter like crazy. I have was bothered by this and decided to find out what was wrong. I tried to restart, System Restore and I tried to tinker with the RAM. I still had my original 512 MB of RAM, so I stuck that in and decided if that would fix the sound. I turn on my computer, but the sound is always messed up. I decided to install all available updates, I had and that did the trick. When I turned on my computer, I noticed that my RAM went from 3.5 to 3.0 GB RAM. I was seriously mad and I did everything to get it back to the 3.5 GB of RAM. I went back to my computer and took the 512 MB RAM on it but no luck.

    Someone care to explain this?

Your BIOS is accessible outside of Windows. Its software on your motherboard. Restart your computer, and find the first screen that appears. It will usually give you a combination of keys to press to enter the "SETUP" or "Setting UP" or "BIOS". Most of the time, it's the DEL and F1 key, but it may vary depending on your system.

Once you get into the BIOS, go to "configuration/basic information ',"System Overview,"or a page that details what the computer sees hardware wise.»

If the 4 GB State, restart your computer and the response back.

I got it, it says I have 4 GB of RAM installed, but it is still only showing me 3.0 GB RAM. I was also noted that the lack of RAM 1 GB in my VRAM I guess. So I guess I'll be stuck with the 3.0 GB, thanks for you help. Oh and how can I fix my sound?

When I turn on my computer, my sound is all stuttery then when I open a specific program, the sound goes back to normal. And when I turn off this program, my sound will all stuttery again. The program is a game and I really want to solve this problem. No, it is not caused by the speakers, it is caused by the computer itself. Could my map its going to hurt? I only had this computer for 3 years. I'm starting to think that the RAM had something to do with this...

  • VMkernal - vCenter

    Hello

Each of my ESX server has a fiber network interface card. But the vCenter server has one.

I want to know if it is possible to make the VMkernel to use fiber NIC that cannot be connected to vCenter.

    Thank you very much.

Could explain you what you mean by "which cannot be connected to vCenter please?

In fact, it does not matter what kind of NIC (fibre, copper), you use, as long as the ESX and vCenter servers can 'see' each other on the network (DNS resolution must be set up correctly).

  • How can I create holes plated copper with and ring finger with Ultiboard 13 (PTH or compatible Pin Hole)?

I am a new user of Ultiboard 13 (Windows7 64 bit). I see how to create holes in a circuit printed (with the option of annular ring), but I don't think that the hole is copper plate. Hole diameter specification is relatively obvious, but it doesn't seem to be a way to define the thickness of the plating through hole plated (if it's at all the possible). Finally, I would like to create footprint requiring approximately 150 holes of PTH in 2-pin compatible with different sizes (for a single connector!). Any help with this would be fantastic!

    Yours,

Thank you very much! That's what I was looking for.

  • Is there a way to make a copper zone to 14.0 Ultiboard? The option seems to have disappeared

I have full of 14.0 Ultiboard edition (recently changed 13.0) and it seems that some options have been removed. I don't find either how do I add a layer of copper as well as adding a rider. These were removed? I'm sure that these cases on my version 13.0. I know precise they were on earlier versions, I used.

    Thank you

Since version 12.0 of Ultiboard, all law places on the forms copper as copper areas. For example, if you place a polygon on a layer of copper (Place menu > graphics > polygon) and view its properties by double-clicking the shape, you can access different settings of copper area (net connections, invalidation, fill style, etc.) tab area of copper.

As mentioned in your other post, Ultiboard full edition unfortunately does not support placing riders.

    I hope this helps.

  • copper box

I'm editing an existing card that has copper complex areas (aircraft on ground) at the top and bottom.

When I try to move or to place a component the program virtually stops, allowing only spasmodic component movement choppy while it redraws the copper areas.

How can I disable the refreshment of copper areas without deleting them (I do this in other programs of PCB layout, but I can't find a way in Ultiboard)?

    PRH

Here are a few possible suggestions:

    (a) first of all I suggest to change the zone type to outline only (instead of solid). Polygon properties.

    (B) or you can choose to temporary turn off verification in real time of the DRC. Ultiboard setting.

    (C) or you can disable the invalidation. Polygon properties.

Change the settings back when finished.

  • Ultiboard DXF to Gerber Polylines do not convert to polygons

    Hello

I am trying to import a DXF to ultiboard antenna file and export it as a file gerber.  The DXF has two layers, edge contour and copper, I chose merger to the Board outline and the copper top.  I also check the option "Convert polylines, polygons", but when importing, there is no area of polygons/copper, just as traces of copper imports as you can see in the screenshots.  No idea why the polylines are not convert?  Dxf was generated from solidworks, so I am confident that the pads are closed areas.  At the bottom of the antenna, you can see there is even a text (part number) which clearly would be closed, but is not a conversion.

This article is basically said to check the option "Convert closed polylines to polygons" during import, which as I said, did not work for me.  But for anyone else having this problem, I solved it by editing the dxf file so that areas of copper I filled, were met.  Then when I imported dxf updated the ultiboard, they properly imported as areas of copper regardless of whether or not the option "Convert closed polylines to polygons" was checked.

  • Ultiboard symbol connection

What is the meaning of the four triangles around the hole to the left?  It is a layer on multilayer design. See the attached figure.

All I can say is that more, if not all, page layout systems use the "thermal optimization" to related to a plan of copper pads. The power supply looks pretty good - we use this technique with a senior system Ultiboard for decades and never had any problems with pins of caliber of several amperes power supply.

  • Multisim for transfer Ultiboard Glitch

    Hello

We have made many PCBS using Multisim as our software for schematic capture and Ultiboard for layout. The last room back does not work because the netlist in the schema is incompatible with the netlist in the provision of one piece (which is used several times on the map). Not only all the pins are reversed, but one of the pins is quite non-connected. Since the 8 pins are connected to the schematic side, this clearly isn't simply a matter of mixed up of PIN, but when I annotate with impatience, it is said that found no difference.

I went through and double and triple checked the symbol, the footprint and mapping of the PIN, and everything is OK. As a witness, I created a new schema with nothing else that the part in question and transferred to Ultiboard, and everything was OK.

Everyone knows about this problem before? This is a known bug and is there any workaround or recommended solution to avoid something like this happening in the future (outside routing by hand and without taking into account the ratsnest altogether).

Thanks in advance for the help!

    CDM,

Please contact our support group.   You should not see this question in v11.0.   I'm not aware of the important issues with annotation front/rear, since we redesigned the annotation capability and improved reliability in v11.0 (from 10.1).
