Please use the forum for answers,

Windows 98 is not supported in this forum.  However, I can give you some suggestions that might fix your problem.  For better support, I recommend posting in Outlook Express newsgroup to get the answer you are looking for.

I actually found the answer for you in this discussion forum.  I hope that's what you're looking for:

  • Outlook Express email - I don't see any of my previous emails.

I recently has my email data (identities) shifted from my c external hard disk drive. When I turned on my computer I don't see none of my previous emails.

All files are stored in the external hard drive with extension.dbx

    Can help you.

If you have disconnected the drive, then OE couldn't find the message store, so he created a new message store in the default location on the C drive.  What you can try to do, is hook the player up and DO NOT change the location of the message store in OE - if you do, then he will wipe away what is on the disk.  Instead, go to file | Import | Messages in OE and choose to import from a directory and not an identity, and then point to the dbx on the external hard drive file directory.  OE will be and then import them into the new directory of the message store that he set up on the C drive.  If the import fails, you can import individual dbx (see www.oehelp.com/backup.aspx#imp1) or manually extract the messages from the dbx (www.oehelp.com/DBXpress/) files.

In the future, do not use an external drive that is not always connected, because it causes problems that you encounter.  The same is true if you attempt to use a network location for the OE message store.

  • Can someone help unload pictures from my VIXIA HV30 to Final Cut Express? Thanks for any help!

I have a VIXIA HV30 and impossible to find a good way to unload video. I would like to import directly into Final Cut Express on my iMac G5 Intel processor, but the program does not recognize the camera. I can land in iMovie 9.0.4, but then I apparently make the video later, which seems a bit "clunky" and is not very intuitive.

Can anyone help? Thanks in advance for any help.

Use a firewire cable and check to see that the camera and your Mac communicate. Use the system information.

  • How can I move the outlook express emails from an XP PC to an another XP PC that has the same e-mail address without overwriting existing messages on this second PC?

How can I move the outlook express emails from an XP PC to an another XP PC that has the same e-mail address without overwriting existing messages on this second PC?

I need to group together all messages from e-mail in a PC and to retire the first PC.

This could be problematic. I guess or OE is over? This would make it easy.

One thing you could do requires some manual work, but much less removal of dupes. For example, the Inbox. In the machine, you are going to scrap, create a new folder and move all messages in your Inbox to it. After you import on the other machine, you can drag the messages you need this folder in the Inbox, and then remove the user created the folder.

And then there are tools to remove the dupes. This one for example.

  • Cannot access Outlook Express email on computer so open on iPhone

original title: Outlook Express email on iPhone

I can't access Outlook Express on my computer recently, I opened my email on my iPhone.  A way to solve this very annoying problem?

You cannot access Outlook Express, or you cannot access mail on Outlook Express?

If mail: OE has this option: tools | Accounts | Mail | Properties | Advanced - Check: leave a copy of messages on the server. You also need to find the equivalent of this on your iPhone and check there as well.

On a single computer only, check to delete messages after X days to satisfy your allocated space you get from your server, but you give the possibility to download at once.

  • Outlook Express emails received no sender, subject and content in the code

Message posted on the office forum, but someone suggested that I should post in the Windows forum?

I use Outlook Express for years to receive my emails.  My ISP is BT I have multiple email accounts coming via Outlook Express and the problem does not occur with any identifiable pattern.  10 emails from ebay arrived at the same time - the first 2 were fine the next two had no sender, no topic and perhaps HTML code looks like in content, 2 were very well the next information was missing and then another was fine, etc.

I downloaded and installed all the updates from Microsoft, but that does not change.

An e-mail this morning that came to two of my email addresses was good one and the information on the other missing.

When I checked my e-mail via webmail on Yahoo, all emails had senders, subjects and relevant content.

I use Windows XP, Internet Explorer 8, and Outlook Express 6.

I would be grateful for any help.

    Thank you

Outlook Express has nothing to do with Microsoft Office. That's why they sent you here. This is the right forum for OE.

You have all these accounts set up in the very identity of OE? Your problem may be due to a variety of reasons, your security for one program.

What program do you use for security? Make sure that's not incoming or outgoing e-mail scanning.

If that's not the answer, set up a new identity. File | Identities | Add the new identity. Create a new one and try it. If all goes well, you can import your messages and address book from the old identity and delete it.

Also, observe the following precautions for Outlook Express.

Do not archive mail in the receipt or sent items box. Create your own user-defined folders and move messages you want to put in them. Empty the deleted items folder daily. Although the dbx files have a theoretical capacity of 2 GB, I recommend all a 300 MB max for less risk of corruption.

Information on the maximum size of the .dbx files that are used by Outlook Express:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/?kbid=903095

After you're done, followed by compacting your folders manually while working * off * and do it often.

Click Outlook Express at the top of the the folder tree so no folders are open. Then: File | Work offline (or double-click on work online in the status bar). File | Folder | Compact all folders. Don't touch anything until the compacting is completed.

Disable analysis in your e-mail anti-virus program. It is a redundant layer of protection that devours the processors and causes a multitude of problems such as time-outs and account setting changes. Your up-to-date A / V program will continue to protect you sufficiently. For more information, see:

  • I can't delete the emails of one of my Outlook Express email accounts.

    Outlook Express for email

Hi all. I am running Microsoft Windows XP on my computer. I use Outlook Express for e-mail. Currently, I'm unable to delete the emails of one of my Outlook Express email accounts. Everyone knows about this problem? All proposed solutions?

Spend most of your messages out of the Inbox and move the messages you want to record off deleted items, and sent items. Locate the OE message store and then close OE.

Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.

In Windows XP, Win2K & Win2K3 the OE user files (DBX and WAB) are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in Windows Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder Options icon | Opinion, or in Windows Explorer. Tools | Folder options | View.

With OE closed, find the Deleted Items.dbx and Sent Items.dbx files and delete them. New files will be created automatically when you open OE.

Compact all folders as described below.

To avoid this in the future:

Do not archive mail in the receipt or sent items box. Create your own user-defined folders and move messages you want to put in them. Empty the deleted items folder daily. Although the dbx files have a theoretical capacity of 2 GB, I recommend all a 300 MB max for less risk of corruption.
