I doubt it, because Dimension 4400 systems, have Dell motherboards and cases/chassis with exclusive features.

You may have problems to install an ATX motherboard in a Dell case.

The rear i/o Panel can align properly, then you might have to change that.

Both ATX case and motherboards do not have the same front wiring connectors that use 4400.

Dell uses an owner Ribbon to the front connector, while the standard ATX cases use Molex type connectors, you will need to find a way to redo the electric installation of the front panel and USB ports, because Dell has never published the details of the pinout.

It cost less likely to buy an ATX case retail, as well as a motherboard.

  • Update the motherboard on a Dell Dimension E520

    Hello

I have a Dell Dimension E520 with an Intel Celeron 2 GHz, 1 GB RAM, 160 GB HDD, Windows Vista 32 - Bit for about a year now and the speed of the processor. But with 1 core is not enough. I opened the case and found that the CPU is soldered in to the motherboard and what it is not replaceable, so I replace the motherboard with one that comes with an Intel Core 2 Duo 2.0 GHZ. My question is what can I replace the motherboard on it and what kind of specifications of the motherboard will work with Dell Dimension E520.

    Thank you

  • Dell dimension e520 Motherboard upgrade

Hi, I have a Dell Dimension E520 and I was wondering if it takes care of all new mothers of dell. Thanks for your help.

    hunterp15

There is no motherboards, other than a Dell e520 OEM motherboard that will fit the owner e520 EOL BTX chassis, or y at - it available BTX retail motherboards.

The Dimension e520 is the latest model of this series, Dell made.

Only 65 processors with 800 or 1066fsb will work with the E-520.

The Q6700 should work, but before installing the processor, make sure you have BIOS version 2.2.1 [or more] installed, when additional CPU support has been added.

  • Dell Dimension 9200. The orange light flashes. Power disconnect day + this market but stop and it will not work unless that unplugged for a day

Flashes orange and no lights on the front panel next to the USB ports. (see amber light on motherboard, power button / stop 15 sec + he disappears, but the computer does not start, a few times the fan turned on couple seconds), initially it used to go in the cycle (starts for about 3-5 seconds and stops) several times and the flashing yellow light.

If I unplug the power cord for a day + and try, it worked, stop and restart immediately worked too but when I shutdown and come after a few hours, it will not start again (power plugged).
Disconnect the power supply for a day + new and it worked once tried.

I did the reset by pressing the power button / 15 sec + but no luck. Until a day + unplugged worked so far about three times will try again tomorrow and see what happens if I don't stop the computer ever.

What a PSU or of the motherboard problem or some other problem? Hope it can be fixed.

A flashing orange power LED, usually indicates a power supply problem power, given the age of the Dimension 9200, which is highly likely.

Try to replace the power supply with a power supply of labour "Known", to see if that makes a difference.

This system does not use an exclusive power of Dell, you can install most power supply ATX with a power connector 24 pin or 20 + 4 pin main motherboard and this can be purchased in most local computer stores, or online.

The 9200 has a rear panel open, a diet with or without the on/off switch can be installed.

Note: You need a PSU with six SATA power connectors.

Otherwise, you can buy a refurbished Dell OEM [Dell P/N KH624] 375w PSU from here:

  • Replacement of a card mother Dell Dimension 3000 with a Dimension 4600 motherboard

Recently I replaced my processor in my Dell Dimension 3000, however, at the start he always tells me that the processer is not supported by the Bios, so I still have to press F1 to start upward. I heard you can counter this is replacing the Board with a Board of a Dimension 4600 however, I know not what condition the Board of Directors must be in. Can I replace it with a Board of direct administration of a Dimension 4600 or what I need to get a referbished or the new Board of Directors?

    scprokop

A work of a Dimension 4600 motherboard can be used, provided it is in a usable state.

As the Dimension 4600 is obsolete for many years, I doubt there is very no new motherboards available, only the so-called "renovated" boards, which are 'pull system '.

No you can't. Given that it's a Dell and it came with Windows XP pre-installed, it's an OEM of Windows version.  The biggest drawback of an OEM version (at least in the USA) is that its license it permanently binds to the computer first it is installed on. He can never legally be moved to another computer, sold, or given to outside (except with the original computer). If the computer dies or is stolen, your license dies with him.

And let me ask you as if you checked to make sure everything on the Dell is compatible with Windows 7, and there are Windows 7 drivers for all your hardware that requires it.

  • I just installed windows 7 on an old dell dimension 4500 s. The installation went well, but I have a problem with the resolution of the screen. The resolution is set to 640 x 480 and my monitor is much better than that.

    • Just installed Windows 7 Home Premium Upgrade - 32-bit
    • Installed on the old Dell Dimension Dsktp 4500 s
    • Monitor is a Dell S199WFP Flat widescreen.
    • Everything seems fine, but the screen display resolution is messed up
    • Display resolution is set to 640 x 480, then it should be something like 1024 x 768
    • I can't change the resolution in the control panel
    • the screen is recognized as "Non - PnP Monitor on Standard VGA Graphics Adapter generic
    • It also seems that the driver is up-to-date

    What's wrong?!? Someone please help.

    Thank you!

I remember that when I tried to install the driver, there's a message that says that it is said that it is not supported.  I don't know if I reinstalled the older operating system and then the new driver and vista or if there was a button to install the driver, even though it was not taken in charge.  Most likely, I installed the driver on the old XP operating system and then applied the upgrade to Vista. I always run a clean install to clean any spyware etc. The driver supports the X 9 live is what it takes. Use Vista driver is already installed.  I plan to upgrade to windows 7 in January and display the results.

  • Upgrade to a Dell Dimension 8200?

I have a very old Dell Dimension 8200 PC desktop computer I found at a sale of yard for free, and initially, it came with only 256 MB of RDRAM. I ordered a kit 1 GB for it, and the seller had shipped me 4 512 MB modules that fit into the PC, very well. Bringing the RAM from 256 MB to 2 GB, even if apparently the so-called 8200 can be up to 1 GB. A reason why what was possible? Anyway, I'll try and upgrade the processor 1.7 ghz on something toward superior (I must find the chipset that there) and if I have enough money, I'll put a better video in card. And before someone tells you to buy a new PC with the money it would take to put new parts in this area; I have a very good, 2013 PC that works very well. I just want to see how far I can spend the 8200, as a project more than anything else. But honestly; Why upgrade to 2 GB actually works if Dell indicates that it can go only up to 1 GB? I also saw that the PC that I use on a daily basis, an Inspiron 660, can use about 32 GB, if Dell says up to 8 GB, even though they sold the same model with about 16 GB. It's all confusing.

Many Dell can handle more Dell's claim. Often the physical changes occur throughout the life of the model, and the newer versions will take longer. Limitations both the particular Chipset, BIOS and motherboard. Each doubling of RAM support takes an extra to be present address line.

  • Dell Dimension 1100

Don't think that lightning strike twice in the same place.  A few weeks ago, lightning struck close enough to home to fry my workstation 220 motherboard and modem from Comcast.  The same thing happened about this time last year.  Both times, it was close enough to feel the concussion on the INSIDE of the House.

My fallback position is a Dimension of 1100, which transfer parts in the deceased workstation.  Because it'll be awhile before I can rebuild the work station, I decided to put both hard drives in the Dimension.  Of course, there is a tray for a single.  The second hard drive is now in the space for the second CD/DVD, and it just seems unprofessional.

Is there a Dell tray for two hard drives which falls in the case of the Dimension 1100?  There is an adapter two parts available, but it looks like a two-piece adapter, not a part of Dell.

    Thomas Johnson

Thanks for the reply, but I have an OT962 tray in the machine and another on the way to eBay.  My other significant says when she doesn't understand me, it's because I can't explain right.  So... Let try me again.  I put the two OT962s with a kind of clamps, but by doing this, it'll take a bit of work to do and undo, if I need or that you want to remove a hard drive.  Apart from a hole in the chassis, for the screw that holds the second OT962 in place.  I was hoping to find a single pan to keep the TWO drives in place, one that just fits into the Dimension 1100 and screw up 'easy peasy'.  I have maybe just bite the bullet and make the clamping shtik.  I'll let you know how it works.  Thank you, again.

    J.

    Thomas Johnson

As far as I know, a Dimension 1100 'Double Hard Drive Tray"has never been made, either by Dell or any third party parts manufacturers.

Because the Dimension 1100 uses a chassis of MITAC ATX as Dimension 4600 and the Dimension 2300/2350/2400/3000/4700/1100, you can use the same instructions to install the hard drive platters, see pages 17 & 18 here:

  • GeForce 8800gts, PSU and a Dell Dimension E510

I'm not an expert on the material, so I'll try and do that as clear as possible.

I have a system Dell Dimension E510, running a P4 3.0Ghz and 2.5 GB of RAM. I am looking to update my graphics at a Geforce 8800 card or an 8600.

I confirmed I have plenty of room for the 8800 card to fit my motherboard, but I am more concerned about my diet.

Now I looked around this forum for a definet response. Most argued that the stock of POWER Dell 305 block w is able to run a 8800 with no problems, while others were not so sure, he could and recommended that they improve their power supply to an Antec, since its been proven that they work with the E510.

I know that this has been asked before in the past and I'm sorry, but I just want absolute course before buying it, will be a run on the PSU E510 Geforce 8800? I don't plan on overclocking the card or something like that.
