An Intel Pentium Dual-Core E2180 processor will work if it is installed in a desktop Pavilion a1102n?

Hello:

No, it won't.

The best you can do in this computer is a Pentium 4-650.

  • Intel Virtualization Technology - Thinkcentre A58 - Pentium Dual-Core E5300

    Hello

I am considering buying a ThinkCentre A58 with a clocked Intel E5300 processor
    Model/type: 7515-7SG

I would like to run "Windows XP Mode" on Windows 7 Pro.

For the XP Mode, I need ability IVT.

    My Question is:

The Lenovo 7515-7SG come with an E5300 CPU which is capable Intel virtualization technology?

IVT depends on the TECHNICAL Code of the E5300 CPU.

Intel offers CPU E5300, who do not have the ability of IVT.

    E5300 know:
    http://Ark.Intel.com/product.aspx?ID=35300#specs

    E5300 Code TECHNIQUE

    * SLB9U: IVT No.
    * SLGTL: IVT Yes

    Check the E5300 features supported:

    http://processorfinder.Intel.com/list.aspx?ParentRadio=all&ProcFam=2841&SearchKey=

Even if Lenovo ships an E5300 with SPEC Code SLGTL - needs a BIOS that does not block IVT.

... made the A58 BIOS IVT available?

I already searched the Lenovo Thinkcentre A58 product support site - has not found something valuable.

    Thank you

    I found the answer.

    Hello

I have goggled a bit and found that this laptop Satellite L30-105 was certainly equipped with the Intel Pentium Dual-Core CPU T2060 1.6 GHz.

I m similar L30 owner as a second notebook and at first start, I noticed that the Device Manager recognized the incorrect CPU.
I've simply removed the entry CPU since the Device Manager and rebooted again the Vista again recognized the CPU and advised the right CPU.

Please check this box. Maybe it helps.

Nothing should happen to your PC.

Worst case, it's that the PC does not start upward.  Replace your original processor in and it should be good.

Best case scenario is that works, and you're in luck because that would be a good cooler processor running than a Pentium D 960!

  • My Pentium Dual-Core E5200 showing as Single

Good to start with my computer information-

    Windows XP
    Home Edition
    Version 2002
    Service Pack 3

    I have a Pentium (r) Dual-Core E5200.

My Device Manager shows two hearts, but my Task Manager displays only one and my computer is slow massively. I had a problem a month ago and reinstall windows. It took me a week to get installed and working properly. My bios has Multicore multiprocessing (SP?) active. My Manager to design shows my computer (Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI) PC. I have a second option for Standard PC. I also tried to find other solutions to get it working properly, but it forced me to change my boot.ini file and I have no one. Yes I did all the stuff to show all hidden files and the only one that shows is C:\WINDOWS\pss and is called boot.ini.backup. All the solutions or who need more information help get my processor works properly. I at one point had show as a dual-core in my task manager. That was before resettlement.

    Hello Stephen,

I have taken note of the fact that you do not have a boot.ini file.

Windows XP is able to boot without a boot as long as the boot drive is on multi (0) disk (0) rdisk (0) partition (1) \WINDOWS.

If the machine has a floppy drive, it may be useful to create a boot diskette to try the steps mentioned in the article that you have found-in this way, you can change the boot.ini without fear of being unable to start abruptly.  You will need to create a new boot.ini file by using the following article:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/289022

You should be able to use the boot.ini file example text with a certain degree of success, there is always a certain amount of trial and error with this.

This is being done, you can create startup disk that will allow us to experiment with the boot.ini file:

1 format a diskette on another Windows XP computer with the same service pack.

2 copy the NTLDR, NTDETECT.COM, and BOOT. INI files on the disk.
These are placed in C:\ and most likely will be hidden.

    3. you can then use this diskette to a distressed boot.
Note that you must work with the path of startup in the boot.ini file, until it works.

Alternatively, you can create this disk of your Windows XP machine until problems arise and make it available as a "just-in-case measure.

Let us know how it goes.

    Best regards

  • What happens if there is multi-core or Dual-Core coupling processors to the top with Windows 7 Home Premium?

So if I have a Windows7 Home Premium 64 - bit operating system and I use a processor dual core (Intel Dual Core e5300 CPU) are fully compatible or how they work together, given the fact that Windows 7 recognizes that one of the two processors? Playback of the system is expressed in the fact that it has two current processors. Both processors work simultaneously to form a combined data stream is a dormant or they turn on and off opposing to another so that each works half the time? Many scenarios as possible, but I would like to know... the real answer as to what needs to be changed eventually to bring together a system more fluid? My main question is the operating system and the processor may be an incompatibility problem that has not yet been addressed? I can't find any answer in the Center Compatabiity of Windows 7 or anywhere else. Or is the limitation of windows 7 Home Premium and only be able to support an unfounded processor see the fact that there are many systems that are in work today with these components. ?

    Hey Randy,

If your system has two separate physical processors (not hearts) and you are running Windows 7 Home Premium, the second processor is completely ignored. It turns on and turn his fans, but it does not all rights for the computer. Windows 7 Home Premium will not take advantage of a single processor.

However, if you have a single physical processor with multiple cores, Windows 7 64-bit will benefit from up to 256 cores. It is very probably the type of machine that you have because it is quite rare to have multiple processors co-location in a workstation computer.

In this scenario, Windows will use two cores for separate tasks. Applications will be evenly distributed between the carrots, unless the application has been written to take advantage of multiple cores. The two hearts are turned on and both are used when the system is running.

You can check if Windows has recognized the two hearts looking Manager of the tasks of your system:

    1. Open the Task Manager by right-clicking the taskbar, and then click Start Task Manager.
    2. Click the performance tab.

The top two graphs show how much CPU is used, as well at the moment and for a few minutes. If the CPU usage history graph seems shared, your computer has multiple processors, a single dual-core CPU or both.

Windows 7 system requirements also go in a little more detail on how many windows cores/processors can take in charge:

Hope this helps to answer your question!

  • This processor will work in my CV?

I took a chance on this processor on ebay cause the price was right and the hope that this will work but HPs specs on my mobo leaves scratching me my head... the model of the proc that I bought is (AMD Athlon II X 4 620 2.6 GHz Quad - Core (ADX620WFK42GI) processor) my computer I want to put in is a HP pavalon p6203w

the motherboard is a M2N68-(Narra5), it has an AMD Athlon II X 2 215 2700 MHz @ which is an AM3 socket and on their spec for proc upgrade page it says

    TDP: 95W
Motherboard supports the following processor upgrades:
NOTE: only the socket AM2 processors + are supported with this motherboard.
    AMD Phenom II Quad-Core
    AMD Phenom II Triple-Core
    AMD Phenom Quad-Core (A) 9xxx series (AM2 +)
    AMD Phenom Triple-Core (T) 8xxx series (AM2 +)
    AMD Athlon X 4
    AMD Athlon X 3
    AMD Athlon X 2 (B) (AM2 +)

that those are my options, so I hope someone can get to know if it will work, before I try to install it thanks

It looks like it might, but keep in mind that when Windows detects that you have a new processor, it could decide to-authenicate your license if it is an OEM license.  I know it would make if you change motherboards, but perhaps someone else can talk to the processor being changed.  Whatever you do, don't forget to do a full system backup on an external hard drive before making any changes.

    Good luck.

    Hi, Andrey:

Accroding to the specifications of your laptop, it comes with a processor AMD Turion X 2 Ultra ZM - 85 Dual - Core Mobile, correct?

If this is the case, you can not put an Intel processor in a laptop computer with an AMD processor.

Here is the link to the service manual for your laptop.

Support for AMD processors are listed in Chapter 1, page 1.

It would not be the time or the money to upgrade to one of the most numbered 2 processors as yours.
