A process called "svctimesag.exe" consumes high CPU on the Production Server.

OT: svctimesag.

Hi team,

In one of our Production Server is a process called "svctimesag.exe" using high CPU. This problem has been detected the day before.

For immediate solution, we killed the process, but it did not help, then you need to restart our server.

In the past 24 hours this process has shoot to the top of the CPU twice and you need to restart the server with force.

Also searched the Internet but found no information. The location of the file on the server is C:\Program Files (x86)\Products\svctimesag\svctimesag.exe

We organize engine on the server management application. We also opened the case with them to know the process.

If any user face any problem with that part of process please your valuable troubleshooting strike.

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the community of Microsoft and thanks for posting the question.

    1. who is the antivirus installed on the computer program?

    2. do you use AVG products?

    3. do you have problems regarding the application Vprotection?

Vprotection is a part of AVG Safe Search Toolbar; Some malware will be a miscarriage as vprot.exe.

If you have not installed or there is more than one instance running it may be something else. You can check if it is authentic, by locating the file, view the digital signatures tab and checking the signer are AVG Technologies.

  • Number of CPU of the license server to the servers of a socket

I searched the community but found no solution or similar results. Maybe it's so trivial...

So the question is on the (Macrovision FlexLM) license server and how this licensing system for guests.

We use vCenter Server v2.5 3 update and license server is running on the same hardware. Are all ESX v3.5 hosts and update levels varies between 2 update and update 4. In this thread (Enterprise license) David Weinstein said with an example how many CPU is consumed from the license server.

You can use 16 CPU Enterprise License 'package' in different ways:

    • 2 servers with 8 CPU sockets populated = 2 * 8 = 16 CPU of the license server

    • 4 servers with 4 CPU sockets populated = 4 * 4 = 16 CPU of the license server

    • 8 servers with 2 CPU sockets populated = 8 * 2 = 16 CPU of the license server

Or you can do any combination of fill 16 CPU:

    • 1 server with 4-socket full CPU + 1 server with 8 sockets populated CPU + 2 servers with 2 sockets populated CPU = 484 = 16 CPU of the license server

So far, everything is correct and understandable, but when you add a server socket for the things the soup becomes interesting. Servers a socket use only 1 CPU since the license server and which is correct from the point of view License Manager server.

    QUESTION (S):

    1. Is an enterprise license for the ESX (up to two CPU sockets) the right to split into two servers a socket?

    2. In the opposite case and an enterprise license for ESX (up to two CPU sockets) is related to a single physical host and there is a socket server, how the license server should deliver CPU from the pool of license? CPU in a relationship?

    3. A good way to request a report where the license server shipped number of CPU's match with one, two, four or eight socket servers? Or is it all good 3rd third-party tool for that?

  • Explorer.exe causes high CPU usage!

Hi, recently I added new music for my laptop, including both .mp3 and .wav files. As such, I discovered spikes in my use of a CPU
slow from 3% to 63% and more. After research, I came to realized that when a corrupted .wav files containing folder is opened, Windows Explorer calls the Media Foundation (Mf.dll) function to retrieve the metadata of the .wav files. However, Mf.dll function enters an infinite loop during extraction of metadata.

However, only those files are accessible so high use of the processor occurs if, and after that I reload it would return to normal at rest 3%
Research led me to discover that Microsoft has a hotfix.exe application that would help me solve my problem on the other hand, it is not currently available.
Is there anyway that I can fix this?
    Thank you

    Hello

Thanks for posting the question on Microsoft Community Forums.

According to the description, you have the .wav files damaged in a folder on a computer that is running Windows 7.

You have the third-party codecs installed on the computer?

This problem can also occur if you have the codecs installed on the computer and could not play the files.

    Method 1:

Are you referring to this same fix article:

High utilization of the processor in the Explorer.exe process when you open a folder with .wav files corrupted in Windows 7 or in Windows Server 2008 R2

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/976417

It indicates that the fix is available and you can download and install.

    Method 2:

If the problem persists, perform the check and scan SFC.

Try scanner SFC [SFC system] on the computer that would be a system file corrupt on the computer search and replace.

Hope this information helps. Please reply with the status so that we can help you.

  • searchindexer.exe extermemly high CPU usage - days

Not sure that to do, I rebuilt the index, manually deleted the record of data to index, completely removed, rebooted, and then reinstalled Windows Search from the Add/Remove Windows features, I also chkdsk/f had my records.

    Hi entire,

disable the service in the Services, restart the computer and then re-enable the service.

I tried, I completely uninstalled from Windows Add/Remove Features service, rebooted the PC and re - he added, and same deal.

Anyway I found is what the problem is, it's the korwbrkr.dll, it seems to be related to a Korean dictionary, as if the indexer is you are trying to index something with characters Koreans inside (not aware that I have something like that), and he throws a loop for I renamed the korwbrkr.dll to korwbrkr.bak and it has linked the dictionary file and removed from the search index and I allow the indexer to run all night and it shows that indexing is complete, and I have no more high CPU usage.

I was dealing with high utilization of the processor of the indexer for weeks, now my system is at peace.

  • High CPU in the NT Kernel & System processes / ACPI.sys

Periodically, I notice high CPU usage by the NT on Win7/Pro kernel process. Using Windows performance monitor, the offending subcomponent suggests ACPI. SYS.

I also noticed that the problem starts after inserting/help/ejection of a USB key. This is consistent with some comments I've seen on the web regarding acpi.sys.

This seems to be a bug with Windows 7 or other versions. Other restart, someone has anything that suggests to solve this problem.

This trace points to ACPI but advanced to the video driver as the largest part of using ACPI.  It does not have a USB component either as a heavy user.

I would like to start by reinstalling the most recent driver (even if it is the same date for the drivers become corrupt).  If the problem persists let us know and we can suggest other parameters for a second track.

  • Csrss.exe pic 100% CPU for Win 2003 Server

    Hello

Recently, I've migrated a physical server to virtual (Server 2003 R2 Std). After that, I see high utilization of the processor in the csrss.exe process.

I tried to check in via Process Explorer. Csrss.exe displays as much CPU being picked up in Process Explorer as it does in the Task Manager window.

I tried the below, without a bit of luck.

    (1) complete analysis of Ran. No Virus found.
    (2) removed corrupt profiles (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/555021/en-us)

Sometimes, when I have connection I noticed my profile size is 4 GB.

You guys can suggest me any solution to workaround to fix high CPU usage.

The migrated VM is single processor

    Kind regards

Last night, I used the product recovery disc supllied with the laptop in an attempt to restore its initial configuration.

Below I have then have the possibility of esc or continue with the same result of the system attempts to restart.

The recovery disc has no option of repair on this subject.

    Thank you

    Hello

Looks like something was wrong during the recovery procedure.
Have you tried to recover the laptop once more?
If this isn't the case, you should definitely try this!

You are right; hasn t drive recovery option for the repair because the recovery disk is not the same as a MS Vista drive. The recovery disk contains image files (it s a package) and the files contains Vista, Toshiba drivers, tools and additional software.

So if something was happening well wrung out during the recovery procedure, you will not be able to repair the installation of the OS, but you need to run it again.

Sure. You can store the files anywhere you want. Of course, it is easy to create a new virtual directory. But if you want to use an existing one, the most obvious likely would be the virtual path of/forms/html that can be found here:

The url to access it would look something like this:

I use the server Oracle BPEL 10.1.2 under Windows with the data store of dehydration Oracle lite 10G.

    Here are my questions:

    1. If proc1 called proc2 and proc3 at the same time, shouldn't see the case of the proc2 proc3 at the same time? I can only see proc2 does not even proc1.
