A secure web site that I am trying to veiw keeps giving me a measage on some of its pages: "this application only works with Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 and later or Google Chrome 12.0 and above." Is there a solution for FireFox?
This secure site loads all windows without problem on my Windows XP and a Windows 7 PC, but not on my MacBook Pro.
The SPAR Web site works fine for me with Firefox, the only thing that does not work for me on this entire Web site is the download of images (which uses ActiveX) for assignments of Merchandiser requiring images. And did not have a job requiring images in over 6 months. (I used the UserAgent Switcher - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/user-agent-switcher/ - add-on to make the site thinks I was using Firefox.) For jobs requiring photos, I've been using IE 8.0 to make these reports. But you're a little GROUND with an Apple computer and you use Chrome.
Some Fixin ' to do will have to be done SPAR it. Mozilla has never used ActiveX and will never use. I'm curious to know how they managed to get Chrome to work because Chrome does not have ActiveX either. They must use another plugin for download of the image; and if they are, why they cannot use this same configuration for Firefox and allow merchandisers use Firefox. Not that I'm worried, I'll do with them in a few months - worst job I've ever had.

Since the update for Firefox 4, I can't access the configuration of my router (http://192.168.x.x) page. When you are prompted for the user name and password, Journal of Firefox in window does not accept an empty username field (the router does not require a user name, only a password and it is the default password). If I click OK, the entry of password just happens again. It works fine in other browsers. Is that what I can do about it?
I had this problem too and by disabling the option "Tell sites I don't want to follow" the set under Options-> advanced-> browsing.

I've upgraded to the latest Firefox, but something prevents reading Web sites that I've updated. I already tried to uninstall and reinstall.
At first, I thought it was a specific Web site, but I found that it is affecting my sites on a set path. Yet once, I already tried uninstalling and reinstalling firefox. It doesn't seem to affect one of my other internet browsers.
It would not be a problem, but most of the sites are demanding I upgraded and even disabling certain features until I do.

I recently had to have Windows 7 installed on my computer because Windows 8 only supports AutoCAD. Now I have internet problems. I can access the intrernet; I can also move quite well in Outlook, send and receive e-mails. My problem is that, while trying to reach a Web site that my comuter takes never before. It is not normal that my laptop three months old. Once I get to a Web site, my computer takes forever to finally open the Web site. Forget trying to select another TAP and go somewhere else on this site. I uninstalled the Trend Antivirus and installed Microsoft Security software and still no change. This could be the cause? I use a LAN or Wi - Fi. I never uninstalled Microsoft Office and re-installed.

How can I configure Firefox to start typing before? Such as if I am on a Web Site that needs my personal info, I put in the first letter of my e-mail and Firefox puts in the rest of the letters? IE has implemented this. It makes just so typing more easy to personal information.
Firefox has a 'rudimentary' fill or "AutoComplete" feature, which is linked to the history of form and research.
https://support.Mozilla.org/en-us/KB/control-whether-Firefox-automatically-fills-forms
https://support.Mozilla.org/en-us/KB/Firefox-doesn ' t-economy-web-form-entries
Users should be cautious to they clear recent history what they deselect Form & Search History; This data is stored in its own cache and not saved in a data file.
As Fred mentioned, using an 'auto fill' extension is preferred by many users. This type of extension allows user implement their data of a personal nature and then to have this 'auto fill' information as required on the Web page "Forms."
Currently, the most popular "auto-fill" extension seems to have disappeared of Addons,Mozilla.Org site in the last day or two. I had seen a number of threads of support on a compatibility issue in Firefox 50 with this extension; and I suspect that the developer he shot the AMO site. Not sure if this developer will solve the compatibility problem (probably several processes) prepares a new extension to the new format of WebExtensions, or that it is right to give up with his "auto-fill" extension I saw it listed in the AMO Tuesday; Today, it's gone.
Personally, I have little use for this type of extension, but I don't use and provide suggestions of development (aka criticize what they were doing, FRO the view of "long term user") for a "auto-fill" extension of return in 2004 in the run-up to the release of Firefox 1.0. These developers have created what I would call an add-on "cutting edge", but ran into problems of compatibility silly every week because of Mozilla. And by the time Firefox 1.5 came out 6 months later and 1.5 changes to this extension, developers just gave and 'we' lost this particular extension. After using the 'ultimate auto-fill' extension I've tried a few others, but they have failed in comparison; and since my need was not great I just stuck with the function 'auto' by default.
It's a real shame that Mozilla has not seen fit to extend these basic features "AutoComplete" over the past 10 years; but hey, it's software development! Redo the UI repeatedly and ignore the basic features; who looks better on a RESUME "as"scut"work that few potential employers will enjoy.

I recently upgraded to Firefox 5.0.1 and now the 'lock' icon is nowhere (I don't know) when you access secure Web sites. I've not seen once. It appeared in the lower right of the screen. I also have Norton Internet Security.
Well, in the secure Web sites part of the address bar is allocated to the part of the security certificate. For example, here in these forums you can see your address bar is as follows: mozilla.com . https://support.mozilla.com... The front ' |' ("mozilla.com") is what I'm talking about. For more information on the security certificate, you can mouse over and also clicking on it.
