I downloaded both of these updates and was asked to restart my computer in order to install them. When I restart my computer it says: "Installation to update 1 of 2..." and then finally she said "Shutting down...". "But my computer never stops. Fifteen to twenty minutes later, I get a blue screen that says something about the dumping of memory, then the computer reloads the login screen. When I log in, I get the 643 error message that says that it was unable to install the updates. As a side effect of this error whenever I try to shut down my computer, it tries to reinstall the update again and my computer never stops. Even when I unplug the wall remains on him. I tried to use system restore to go back to the point before I installed the update, but it loads just for a while and then said: "system restore has failed." I read in another thread that you are not allowed to bring support for updates associated security update. If this is the case then I need at least to help make my computer stop trying to install these updates when I shut down my computer so it stops correctly. Thank you.
RAH66Comanche,
With these security updates, it is better to get them installed. You can run the following tools to ensure that there is no system problems:
Disk error checking
System File CheckerThen, run the System Update tool and try again to install updates.
If you just want to try to hide these updates, you can perform the following procedure:
Click Start Menu > click the button run
In the Open box, type %windir% & then click OK.
Note the %windir%\System32 folder is the folder where you installed Microsoft Windows.
Find the folder C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution.
Right-click the C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution folder and then click Rename.
Type SoftwareDistributionOld & then press ENTER.Then go to Windows Update and hide the 2 updates.
