A series of satellite does not start after the BIOS update

After update bios with the downloaded utility my laptop does not start.
Do you have this case covered by the warranty?

I'm not sure if this would be covered by the warranty. You must contact the ASP in your country for details, but I assume that it s not covered.

PS: Did you try this work around:
-remove the battery, disconnect the adapter
-wait ~ 40 min
-connect the two devices again and try to turn on the laptop

If you install the electro mechanical original hard drive in it starts?

If it has been delivered with a SSD?

The specifications indicate that an electromechanical drive was part of the specification.

This is where lies the UEFI environment. It is actually on the hard drive.

  • Satellite L350 - does not start after the BIOS update

    Hello

I recently (yesterday) downloaded the latest version of bios update dated dated 25/02/10 2: 20 - WIN, after download and does run the software from the laptop immediately stopped working and stop. I am now no longer able to boot up the laptop at all, all I get is the power light on and the hard disk light flashes, I hear the spinning CD/DVD drive, but what is not screen anything, I don't think this is the start.

Is there a way to fix this without taking it to a store/engineer, BIOS recovery?

The laptop is a Satellite L350, I opened the laptop to try to reset the CMOS by removing the card mother battery (not sure if it would have helped), but as much as I know it doesn't have an or I'm not.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    Andy

    Hi Andy,.

Hmm... If the BIOS update failed, you can't do anything because only an authorized service provider has professional diagnostic and recovery tools to redo an update.

So in my opinion, you must contact a service provider authorized in your country. Get in touch with the guy and ask for help. They will tell you what to do now.

    Here is their list:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com > support & downloads > find an ASP.

    Good luck! :)

    Thank you

  • Tecra 8000 does not start after the BIOS update

From one day to the other does not start my Tecra 8000 (400 MHz/256 MB BIOS 9.30 for years). After start-up, the disc starts to turn, but the screen including the backlight remains completely black, without red logo TOSHIBA BIOS is not accessible.

I got a new mainboard on stock, so I replaced it, and it worked. Unfortunately now my WLAN card now did not work properly. I tried several settings of the BIOS with no results, so I decided to do an update of the BIOS from 7.50 to 9: 30. After the upgrade, I get the message "ROM WRITE successful, utility completed. LEADER BIOS: Tecra8000 v 9,30 ". Because what either kept silent, I pressed the power button to restart and heard a long and many short beeps (endless). I could interrupt what pressing the powerbutton for 5s.

After turning on again I have the same problem as described in the first line :-( I can't get into the BIOS, but I can again update (with pressed F12). Once again these beeps.

What to do with these beeps after average BIOS update? I replaced the MoBo connector LED with pension. Processor, memory, keyboard and HD has remained the same. So, before I start disassembling the machine, please notify, your help is very appreciated.

    Hello Joachim

I'm not a technician and don t know what the beeps but I am afraid that the BIOS chip is damaged. Because of this, the unit is completely dead. Sorry, but I really don t believe you can do anything. Maybe the new motherboard again :(

  • HP Envy 15 Touchsmart does not start after the bios update

I had one laptop touchsmart from HP Envy 15 (initially Windows 8, windows 8.1 now) for about 2 months now and have not had any problems, until a few hours ago I tried to update the bios of my laptop with the hp support assistant. After the reboot, the pc is more would start up and took me to a blue screen with the error SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED. Everything that I've done short far from a refreshment or a reset has not worked and if I could I would avoid both that I don't have the bandwidth to download windows 8.1 again.

    HI Calsius:

Thank you for your query.  I will be happy to help in any way I can!

After the Windows 8.1 update, did you create a restore point?  If so, you can use to restore from that date and not lose your 8.1 updated.  Some BIOS have an option for a restoration which should not affect your operating system.  I did a search of Microsoft and found this answer click here.   Here is a document on the ' update the BIOS'   click here.»  You did not provide your model number and the HP Envy 15, is a series, so I couldn't get a specific documentation for your computer.  Here is a document on ' computer will start (Windows 8) " click here. If you are able to get your computer running and upward I update all the driversand then create a restore point to return if necessary.  If the Bios update should fail a 2nd time, your restore point will take back you to just before you retried the update. If you were to use the recovery option you need go back to Windows 8, or back to the factory.

Please let me know if this helped.

  • Lenovo E560 does not start after the BIOS update

Finally, gave in the throbbing Lenovo and updated the BIOS on my E560 - big mistake.

He's been through and installed correctly, no problems with chess, etc. (finally none that appeared on the screen).

The laptop delivered to market very well, he crossed and updated the BIOS, restarted once and... nothing.

At the present time I jumped the battery and power, reset the device (press the pwr for 15 sec, etc.), removed all devices, etc., etc., google for similar events and so little matter what I did, the laptop is as dead as a brick. I have the red on but that is all. Nothing doesn't appear on the screen (so can't see UEFI/BIOS), no fans start and the only thing that does the job is that the DVD drive can be opened.

It's a relatively recent laptop (minimum 12 months so still under warranty), but as a word of warning to the other owners E560 - DO NOT INSTALL THE latest VERSION of the BIOS update.

Well not unless you want a weight of expensive paper for your office.

Managed to get everything sorted out (thanks to Lenovo support).

Pop the battery and AC, then remove and reinstall the CMOS battery brought the laptop to life.

  • Z50-75, does not start after the bios update

    Hi all!

I just baught Z50-75 with AMD FX7500, 8 GB of Ram and FreeDOS. I installed Windows Pro 8.1 and they shot a few drivers during the installation and I went to the view of Lenovo and downloaded all the rest (graphics, camera, etc.), after each installation the computer restarted normally and everything was OK The latest drivers I've seen on the site were originally from the BIOS and I downloaded those to and he started the installation, after which he said: "the system will now restart for the changes to take effect" and he did, but it wouldn't start after he did that show me this on the screen:

And I tried both options (either with the Windows CD inside), but it just stays where it is, no effect.

I can enter the bios and change the settings, but none of them seem to work because that's the maximum where it will go, the only difference is when I change from AHCI to compatibility mode, it restarts and I get a white screen, I have to use a button recovery to return to the image above...

I appriciate any help kond, please give me some advice.

    Thanks for the reply!

I solved the problem after updating the bios, communication between it and the disk hard drive had a few problems and is causing the boot problem. I solved with out the hard drive and install on another laptop, flashed the windows and installed the hard back in my Lenovo, and that worked.

You tell the truth, I don't really know how it was the solution, but it worked, I guess that Flash just windows helped the hard disk to create the new connection to the bios, that the first was simply corrupted by an error during the update of the bios...

Now, I know that the bios update is the last solution I'll never use, and of course, save all peace of data I had on the hard drive if possible.

  • Satellite L50-A-160 does not start after the Bios Update

Hi, first of all, this is first post.

    I have 2 satellite L50-A-160 with bios 1.1

Problem: seems to go to sleep after a few minutes, even working on them (even with both)

So, I found an updated version 1.9, downloaded and running on one of the laptops. the biosupdate tool found matching the BIOS and a race.
In the middle of flashing, he fell asleep. turned on and not start. What can I do? Recovery options? I guess the same thing will happen with the other too...

What is the problem with these computers?

Besides; very poor battery, always shows 0% available and not charging...
    Does anyone have a solution?

    Best regards
    -always in the hope.
    GT

Have you tried to change in Power Options?

See screenshot and try to change the ones I marked (it can refresh the settings, just change the values) and see if this solves the problem.

and for the other laptop with no boot, a laptop sleep by updating the bios will surely mess it.

what I don't understand is why your sleep laptop BIOS update, as far as I know the sleep settings is active then on windows (since this is controlled by windows)
He does not sleep while in the BIOS you leave 1 year, sleep settings active only after loading windows.

have you tried to check the time of processor for your laptop? Maybe its overheating causing auto-off

  • Satellite A100 - BIOS and Windows does not start after the BIOS update

Hello, I extend my Satellite A100 laptop BIOS.

After update, I can't start my laptop and the BIOS will not start.

    You see the Toshiba logo?

Was there a power failure when you updated the BIOS?

Try to remove the battery and the adapter and leave for a few hours. You can also try reinstalling the RAM.

If this does not help, you will need to send it to a Service Center for repair.

  • Satellite A100 does not start after the BIOS update

    Hello

I downloaded the update to the bios toshiba A100 PSAA8 on the toshiba site and applied using the procedure of updating the bios from windows XP MSE. Restart after the start of the update stopped at the toshiba start screen.

At startup the screen by pressing ESC watch text mode. The message indicated it confirms the update of the bios version. POST messages are:

    _________________________
    Genuine Intel CPU
No TPM or TPM has problem
    1015 M system RAM passed

    Press to enter in SETUP
    _________________________

Pressing F2 just clears the last message in line and then no change is found.

The laptop comes with windows XP media center edition. I don't know why the TPM secure is enabled. It is possible that toshiba is available with the module of TPM enabled in bios updates that logbook. If this is the case, they must clearly identified as 'not applicable' upgrade for machines that are not relevant.

I found similar messages around the forum without convincing answer.

Is it possible to fix this without sending? Even if it turns out to be affordable, it make much sense to pay for the problems caused by toshiba.

    Hello

Please don t blame someone for you mistakes ;)
As far as I know that only a few sets of laptops come with TPM.
If you want to do an update of the BIOS on the models at TPM, you will need to contact the ASP!

Looks like you used a bad BIOS or bad BIOS update procedure.

The Toshiba page a BISO update the documentation that describes how to upgrade the BIOS on each series laptop!
You will find on the page of the Toshiba driver compatible BIOS and information over a large number of details!

    > Is it possible to fix this without sending
Don t think so, and therefore, you will need to contact the Asp help!

I upgraded my BIOS Satellite L30 and now the laptop will not boot. When I turn on the fan starts and that's it. I think I have updated the book with the bad BIOS... The laptop is only 1 day old... Is it possible to reset the machine to the default BIOS.

    Help, please...

    Hi Scott,.

Unfortunately there is no easy way for you to go to your BIOS to its previous level. You need to entrust your laptop to a Service approved partner who has the necessary equipment to Flash the BIOS to the previous level.

  • Satellite A200-1If does not start after the BIOS update

    Hello

It is my first time on the forum posting, I hope someone can help me.
I recently downloaded the latest update of the Bios (bios - 20090121132526.zip) for my laptop. I ran the bios Setup, after the update it restarted my laptop, but then he went to a black screen and no longer start.
When I press the power button only power led lights, fans begin to turn and the DVD - rom turns and stops and the screen is blank.
I am running Vista Home premium 32-bit.

Can anyone provide a solution on what I can do to fix this?

    Was the system standby standby/extended/recovery?

Its important to cold starts of the system before and after an update of the BIOS.

You could try to remove one of the modules RAM (change RAM size) and turn on, otherwise the system may need to be sent to an ASP for repair.

  • Re: Satellite A200-1AX does not start after the BIOS update

    Hi all!

I wanted to install XP on a Satellite A200-1AX.
So I tried to update the Bios to the version that supports supported XP.

When I tried to install it, crashed Vista and now the laptop won't even turn on.

When I keep the power button pressed, the whistling fan but nothing happens.
I think the BIOS is gone or corrupted.

    What should I do?
Thanks in advance for any help!

    > When I keep the power button pressed, the whistling fan but nothing happens. I think the BIOS is gone or corrupted. What should I do?

What to say to boyfriend. It seems that something was wrong during the process of updating the BIOS maybe the BIOS was not written correctly and the ROM module must be flashed again with the help of a special procedure and the tool.

In this case, you can do anything you will need to contact the ASP in your country for a fix!

Don t waste time and ask a technician for assistance.

    Good luck and best regards
