A welcome screen

Hello everyone

How to make a welcome screen? I want to say that if this is the first time for the user, it shows a welcome message. Only for her first time... !

Thanks in advance

1. you probably already have the application settings stored in a persistent object; Just add a flag "firstrun".

2 when starting the app, after loading the settings, if firstrun is true:

... a) fake firstrun and re - record (commit) purpose of parameters, value

... b) after pressing ordinary first screen of the application, do this:

invokeLater(new Runnable() { public void run() {
  Dialog.inform("Dude, welcome to my app!");
  } } );

So what the user will see the first time that the application is run, is the ordinary main screen, with the pop - up dialog box of welcome which appears a moment later.  Then everything will wait on them by clicking OK to clear the Welcome dialog box, and from there, they'll be on the main screen.  Next time, it does not display the Welcome dialog box.

  • Satellite Pro U300 (PSU31E) - freezes on the Welcome screen

    Hi all

    I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro U300 model no notebook 01900REN PSU31E purchased as new and connected to Windows XP.

    It worked perfectly fine for about a year until very recently when it started freezing on blue welcome screen. I had to disconnect the battery because it has not proceeded past the blue welcome screen. I ran the antivirus avast but it nothing of the detected note. Now even when I disconnect and reconnect the battery the screen does not go beyond the Welcome screen blue even if the mouse is moved again, and occasionally the pointer arrow-pointer to sand-clock pointer initially and then rest as arrow-pointer changes. Pressing buttons, Ctrl + Alt + Delete, using the mouse or the battery are not any good.

    I backed up things but not until recently. Please help me, I'm an amateur like these sorts of things, I'm English teacher from teaching professional so I really need materials and capabilities of the laptop. What should I do, please help!

    Thanking you in advance,

    Hey the view,.

    Have you tried the same thing in safe mode? Go to the advanced boot menu by pressing F8, select Safe mode.
    Check it!

    It of really difficult to say why this is happening but if it doesn t work I think that it s time to reinstall Windows. So take the Toshiba Recovery disk and boot from it. If you follow the instructions on the screen you get factory in minutes! :)

  • I have to wait about 5 minutes between loading time and the Welcome screen

    Need me quite a long time to wait I'm not why. It worked normally until I installed a new type of explore (7.0) from the Internet, after that I restarted my computer, I have to wait about 5 minutes to see the Welcome screen. Can someone help me, thanks

    Hello

    It is not easy to say why this happen here. I recommend you to visit the FAQ section of the official website of Microsoft. Maybe you will find something interesting.

    I heard that IE 7.0 has own firewall and it is possible that there are some conflicts with the firewall of Windows XP Home edition. Check it out and try to disable the firewall of Windows XP Home edition to see if the operating system boots faster.

    Good bye

    Do not restore sauvegardΘ yet. See if it works when the factory reset. It could be that there is corruption of the backup that is causing the problem.

  • Welcome screen - fast user switching disabled

    My computer says a recently installed program has disabled the Welcome screen
    and to restore these features, I have to uninstall the program. The

    vrlogon.dll didn't install any programs. This is a new computer, just
    from. Help How do I find and undo vrlogon.dll?

    Thank u

    I am sure that the fingerprint scanner software caused this to your laptop.

    Start the software of fingerprint on your laptop and uncheck an option that says something like this:
    "Replace Windows logon with the connection protected from fingerprints.

    I don't own a laptop with fingerprint software, so I'm not sure of the name of this security tool. It could be something like "Protector Suite QL' which will also show up as an icon in the systray. 'Start Control Center', 'Settings', 'System Settings', 'Enable Fast Switching Support user' must be the correct procedure to go.

    Once you have done this, your laptop should boot normally

    Kind regards

    Have you installed an antivirus software? Maybe a Norton Antivirus?
    I got this software installed on my laptop and it took an eternity to boot the system.

    I did the same thing and had the same problem on my T500 (which includes a fingerprint reader...).

    I fixed it to Client Security Solution (a ThinkVantage program); there I clicked on 'Footprint', then 'manage '. After authentication, I clicked on 'Settings' at the top of the window, then unchecked "Disable Fast User Switching Support. After a reboot, everything was back to normal.

    Hope this helps

  • Welcome screen very long

    Hello

    There is a problem with my laptop - HP ENVY 15-j001er: she starts off very long during the Welcome screen. And it can do not to start at all. I have to reload each time this happens. The laptop is new. I think that happens because of the slow HARD disk - only 5400 revolutions per second. Operating system is windows 8.1.

    What could be?

    Hello

    Good to hear, can I also recommend downloading Malwarebytes on the net (its free) search Google Malwarebytes download and install the program. Open the software and display the top click on "Refresh" once the update is done choose scanner and do a full scan of your system. When the scan is complete click "View the scan results" and nothing found will be listed, and then place a check next to detected objects and click on remove, you must perform a reboot once invited to remove completely all threats...  If you use malwarebytes alongside your Norton Anti virus (regular tests), your system will be initiated. Don't forget to update Malwarebytes

    Error code 24 characters long drive Self Test (DST) would indicate that hard is defective and must be replaced.

    If your laptop is still under warranty, contact HP Business Support and arrange for the disk replaced - you can check the status of your warranty here.
