A1197 mouse Apple on a PC

Hello

I bought a mouse Apple A1197 of opportunity of a store of the PO the other day and paired successfully to my WIndows 10 PC.

Everything works fine, but my question is... The name of the device from the window he sees, seems to be the name of the previous owner.

Is there a way I can rename this device?

Could it be done on my PC, or I should get connected to an Apple Mac to make a change?

TIA

SFG

You can change it on an Apple computer, but I have no idea if this is possible with a Windows System.

  • problems scrolling mouse Apple

Lately, my Wired Apple mouse scroll in one direction.  This problem occurs after a software update and disappears after a few preferences setting and reboot.  This time, after the update to OS X 10.11.3, however, it is persistent.  I am now using an old mouse imitation that still works without problem. I have a MacBookPro.

The mouse scrolls upward or down, but not both. Clicking on scroll natural sense, United Nations on what it only changes the direction the mouse works.  I tried to change the other settings in the preferences with no result.  Any ideas?

  • Strange behavior mouse Apple in ESXi VM (Windows Server 2008R2) / ESXi host is of type nested in Fusion Pro 8

    Hello

my Apple mouse shows strange behavior when I start my VM and click in it.

Its an ESXi host nested in a virtual machine in Fusion 8 Pro.

Can someone explain it to me?

    Kind regards

    Roland

He has always had problems when using nested desktop computers, and it is simply the result of the way the mouse behaves fundamentally and how this position gets interpolated differently with nested windows VMRC.

I would just connect to the console of the VM (via vCenter) directly from the Mac, with the guest.

(the 192.168.178.42 would be accessible from the Mac and the VMRC plugin works very well).

  • mouse magic mouse from Apple

Nobody knows why the mouse Apple Magic mouse has these gliders made of plastic which does not slip on the bottom? I don't understand why something that costs so much is so impractical. There are also two batteries while all other wireless mouse I've owned have a pile. Of course, it looks good, but it's almost the point if it is a drag to use.

Depends on what you mean by "drag not."   I used a magic mouse (actually three) since 2007.   I have no problem with the element "glide" insofar as it always slides around that I need.   I wonder what you use as a carpet.   I use a piece of black felt to the artist (available at any artist materials store) which is smooth and gives no reflection that would pose problems for the optics.   What I need to do is brush it once a week.

Can't say anything about the batteries; It is a question of design.   Perhaps a single battery would have been more difficult to integrate into the form.

You should submit comments of this kind of Apple product reviews.   They recognize you probably not, but we are sure that they read all the comments.

  • Funny acting Apple mouse

I had this 2nd hand mouse Apple off Amazon for $ 20. Today it started acting really weird. The following occurred:

    • By clicking randomly
    • Make the sound scroll when left alone (click, click, click)
    • Side buttons activating random
    • No scroll
    • The mouse pointer goes nuts on the entire screen

Someone has any idea how to solve this problem? Should I take it to Apple?

    P. S. I already cleaned the ball scroll with a q-tip and alcohol, and ensured the optical sensor was not blocked.

Cleaning of the scroll with a q-tip ball is not the best way to go.   Disable the mouse > remove the batteries > use a moistened Q Tip to deposit a small amount of white vinegar or alcohol on the scroll wheel > turn backwards and rub vigorously wheel scrolling in one of eight for a minute or so on a piece of clean white paper.   You should see the detritus left on the book.   If it is not too big, repeat the procedure 8.   Then re - insert the batteries turn on... and it should work.

Have you thought that it is in the Amazon and second hand because it does not work properly.

  • The clicks of mouse and trackpad... do nothing.

MacBook Air under the age of two months.

Symptom: pointer moves on the screen I use the trackpad, noise of rattling and sensation is full, but the click does nothing in the system.  I can't click anything on the screen, can not open or close anything. Connect a wired USB mouse, same thing! -move the pointer, occurs, clicking noise but no action on the screen (or OS environment) after the clicks.

    Then... eh.

SMC Reset works temporarily, but the same symptoms returned.

Some responses have been that there has been a spill, crumbs or a chassis folded.

Crumbs?  -Gosh, maybe.  Frame bent or such?

But then WHY would a SMC restore temporarily solve the problem, as it does in my case?

If the problem was physical (trackpad inhibited by crumbs or bent), then LANDAU or SMC should not have any effect, in my mind.

In addition, if it's a problem of trackpad, why the same thing would happen with a usb mouse?

Anyway, I hate just my experience on my MacBook Air two months old now.  I know, give it to Apple and they have to him.  But, dang, the problem could be temporarily fixed, so... .it, for those who know really not on motherboards, firmware or other think about it?

Please read If your pointer is nervous when you use a trackpad, Magic Trackpad, Magic Mouse - Apple Support.

In addition, if it's a problem of trackpad, why the same thing would happen with a usb mouse?

The following can help you pinpoint the problem. Please refer to OS X El Capitan: mouse and Trackpad pane accessibility preferences.

To ignore the trackpad while using the mouse, choose (Apple menu) > System Preferences > accessibility > mouse and Trackpad. Select ignore built-in trackpad when mouse or a trackpad wireless is present.

Determine if the adjustment changes the behavior you know.

  • Bluetooth mouse and keyboard hesitant

Since I did the security update on my new MacBook Pro 15 "(retina display), there is a hesitation to my keyboard and mouse Apple BT.  Meets every 2 seconds for about a second.  Tried to turn it off, remove and repair of devices.  No change.  Have restarted MBP (hot and cold).  No change.  Have a Dell monitor set up for my laptop mirrored screen.  Tried to turn it off and unplug.  No change.

Any ideas on what could be causing this intermittent connectivity to BT?  I think it is a result of the recent security update because it began immediately after the restart after the update.

Try resetting the SMC and NVRAM... might help, can't hurt.

  • How to set up my desk now that I'm all Apple.

I started the movement slowly, but now I'm here.  Entirely on Apple. Running all El Capitan.  My office is a Mac Mini w/server end 2014 w / 16G of RAM and 2 TB inside.  I have a 27 "Thunderbolt display end of 2015. I have an early 2015 15 "MBP w / 16G and 1 to inside. My company's system is also a beginning 2015 15 "MBP w / 16G and 512 G SSD inside.  I have a box USB 3 of 16 TB for the MacMini server.  I have a magic mouse, Apple wireless keyboard and the touchpad.  When I ran windows with 2 or 3 systems, I got TRULink KVM 4port (w / audio USB & PS2).  I wish I could spend just between the Mac Mini and each of the MBP I, the Thunderbolt display and using the Apple Smartkeyboard with magic mouse.  Is there a KVM out there that will allow me to do the same thing with Apple products?

I have not used a KVM for a long time, but when I did the only thing I had to observe that it is supported by key press to switch to Macs or that he had a mechanical switch. Find a compatible with the Mac FVM to change keyboard and USB mouse will have no problem. I know not all KVM that supports a Thunderbolt display, but there are models that support display port. I don't quite know who take charge of BlueTooth. However done Logictech is a wireless keyboard that can be coupled to 3 different devices. I use one that I spend my laptop, desktop and an iPad, but I have two mouse on my desk.
