• A30 Modem problem, any ideas?

  My A30 won't let me use the softmodem AMR. I get error 000005aa, the port is used by another device. There is no error in the Device Manager, it indicates that the modem is enabled and Ok no conflicts, but when the modem is queried using the diagnostics or attempt to dial a number I get the error.

  I checked the BIOS for all the other conflicts, th disabled using IRQ7 lpt port.

  Resources show the modem as
  PCI modem on Com3, Bus PCI device) 31 6 function

  If you have reinstalled your unit with recovery CD, it should work unless there is a modem failure. Sorry but I have no other explanation.

  I'm trying to upgrade my PSA33A A30 of XP Home (installed when I bought the machine) XP Professional SP1. I don't have a CD of drivers and utils, I only have the 3-disc "Recovery CD Set".

  I downloaded various A30 drivers of this Toshiba and the Australia support site, and it seems that the drivers are not compatible with my device?

  For example, when you install the chipset drivers, it fails with the error:

  "The chipsets Intel (r) software installation utility requires a platform chipsets supported running on a supported operating system. See system requirements for the README file. Txt for more information. »

  I had a similar problem with the Intel (the only one available in the Australian page) graphics driver, it tells me that a "software error has occurred." I download the ATI driver now site so maybe that will work.

  And so on – the modem driver doesn't work either. Yes, I checked to make sure that I download the proper drivers.

  If I have no chance I'll have to use the recovery CD to go back to XP Home, write down the details of the pilot and go from there.

  I think that the drivers must be installed in a particular order.

  I installed an operating system I bought separately. Fortunately, my A50 came with a CD with all the drivers - what is separated from the recovery CD. I installed the drivers in the order listed on the CD and everything works fine.

  I think that one of the first drivers or utilities installed is "Toshiba Utils".

  -go to the Device Manager and remove and uninstall the modem driver
  -Download the latest modem driver
  -restart the OS and reinstall the modem

  had a similar problem with an other friend A30. After sending the machine to an ASP (certified partner), they told us that the internal charger was defective and they have offered to swap the motherboard.
  But given that the motherboard was really expensive for him he sold the machine on Ebay and bought and Satellite A200 which is a machine really well.

  I have a dial connection whenever I try to connect to the internet, I get an error message saying that the remote computer has failed.

  I XP MS and connection to the internet has always been a bit hit and Miss. Impossible with aol, fine with BT I now live somewhere with blue cable installed there and have had problems since.

  I tried a virus with a startup disk check - nothing. I uninstalled the driver and reinstalled the latest version. I'm trying to get hold of an external modem to check if my modem. I don't really know about these things, but certainly a modem no longer works or it's not - there is not between the two? After you have reinstalled the driver that I managed to connect, but has been disconnected aftre about 20 minutes and have not been able to connect from. I'm out of ideas. Can anyone help?

  I recently bought a used Toshiba Satellite A30-514.
  I checked and got everything works except the sound and wireless WLAN. I learned that with the wireless, there is no card so that I hope that the problem has been resolved.

  Now to the sound issue.
  I checked all the way through the sound settings, try the things usual e.g uninstall Realtec AC97 audio and sourcing the driver on the Toshiba site and install again, although when 80% through it causes an error while it just goes right to 100%.
  In the Device Manager it happens now with the yellow exclamation point and the properties now show that this device cannot start (code 10) location: PCI bus 0, device 31, function 5.
  It comes up with no device in the sounds and audio devices.
  I tried upgrading the bios (already the most recent) and tried to uninstall and reinstall, but does not work on anything!

  Please someone help ive spend a whole day faced with my brain, but nothing helps, I hope that someone had the same problem and knows more to help, I will be much appreciated if you can help.
