A30 - problem with intel pro Wireless 2200bg - wireless always turn off

Hello.

I have a problem with the wireless card Intel pci mini. I installed in the connector mini pci and connected the 2 wires. I also installed drivers and software to Intel. But the connection is always available. I changed the wireless switch located on the left side of my toshiba, but said software, the hardware radio switch is off.
I reinstalled operaiting system XP Home, XP Pro, but all the time I have information that this switch is off.

Thanks for any information

Hello

Please first check that when you the physical switch turn on wireless communication, you should also somewhere (probably near the switch) see an orange light.
If this isn't the case, then there is something wrong.
Did also attach you the antenna cables to the Wifi card?
You use the Windows XP client or customer of Intel for wifi?

BR

Tom

Hi, it is not possible to obtain a good connection with the Intel card and the latest driver from the homepage of Intel, even with all the other drivers, it is not possible. The Forums are filled with problems connecting with this card! I need a solution. Game online (World of Warcraft) is not possible because the ping (Laency) is 5000ms, and server kicks all the time, with other laptops without problems.

    Why!
When I turn off energy-driver settings, it gets easier, but still terrible connection. Intel or Toshiba do something! Tried already weeks solve this problem with all the possible drivers and settings in Windows XP SP2.
Other users of the Intel card have the same problems.

    Hello, Robert

You are absolutely right on this Intel WLAN card. I checked some books forum and many other users have similar problems with different laptops (different producers but the same map).

I noticed that this card make a trouble with different routers. A friend of mine has Satellite M40 with the same card and has no problem with the Netgear router, but with my Belkin one drops the connection permanently. We did the test with US Robotics router and the connection was not good enough.

Unfortunately, there is nothing to see. The only solution is to swap the WLAN card and built the other one (Agere or Toshiba one).

    Good luck!

  • Problem with the Menu of Microsoft starting and turning off Legacy USB Support

I recently bought an Adesso ADP-PU21 active USB-PS/2 adapter. Most of the time it works OK except when the computer wakes from sleep. For troubleshooting I tried to turn off Legacy USB Support in the BIOS of my computer settings just to see if that helped what whatsoever. However, my keyboard does not work until Windows has finished starting when the legacy support is disabled. I can't use the Microsoft boot menu to select an operating system to start. This is the reason why I made this thread to get help with it. I have dual boot between Windows Server 2008 R2 64-bit and Windows 7 Professional 64 bit. Is there a way to fix this, so I can have usb legacy support turned off and continue to use the start menu? I had this problem before, when I tried something else but I don't remember what it was. I hope in any case, there is an alternative for this switching usb legacy support back on. Any suggestions?

  • Problem with Internet connection - connect only after you turn off allowing then again.

It is a recent problem that unfortunately I have very little information on. In other words, after months be happy and connection to the internet when you start the computer has decided he won't d more, instead he wants to deactivate and then activate the connection to the local network before it will connect.

There is no error message and the convenience store could not find that something wrong then directed me here! I tried to diagnose too but didn't know what was wrong either. There are two computers connected through a router and the other is fine, ISP technical support assures me it's nothing to do with them either.

It left me speechless. I tried the system restore, I crossed the two diagnoses available in internet options and I called ISP support. Although this isn't a direct threatening problem, it's one of those little niggles you want just leave.

If anyone has any ideas on how to fix things, I'd be grateful.

    Hi tmaxwell83,

    1. did you of recent changes on the computer?

    2. do you have security software installed on the computer?

    3. What is the type of internet connection you use?

This would happen if the NIC driver is corrupt or needs to be updated.

I suggest that you install the updated drivers for the network adapter on the computer by visiting the network card or the computer manufacturer Web site, the check if it works fine.

  • Satellite A100-784 - Intel PRO Wireless 3945ABG off randomly

    Hello

I have Toshiba Satellite A100-784 with Intel PRO Wireless 3945ABG wireless adapter.
Today I was working with my friend on some project connected on his wifi sharing internet connection on Toshiba Satellite A100-510.
After a while I lose the internet connection and I see that this blue icon is no longer in the test system.

I try to use Toshiba ConfigFree but it was impossible to open, so I try to open the network connection of the control panel and after a period of time the network connection has been accessible and I saw that this network adapter is disabled. I try to activate three times but nothing.

After rebooting, everything was ok and wireless adapter is turned on and ready to use for the next 10 or 15 minutes.
First disable comes after two hours. I use Windows XP SP 2.

The problem is that I have to restart my computer everytime where I lose internet connection (WiFi is turned off automatically).
Everything is blocked its very hard to access the settings of network or toshiba configfree

    Thank you

    Try this:

Update the BIOS of the laptop
    Update driver Intel Wireless LAN
Use static IP addresses, instead of dynamic (DHCP)
    Temporarily disable your firewall software
Update the Firmware on your Access Point

  • Problem with Intel WM3945ABG Sat Pro P100 wireless

I formatted my Satellite Pro P100 and re-installed XP Pro SP2 (after the driver installation guide for the Web from Toshiba site). Originally, when I installed the WiFi drivers, I didn't install the Intel wireless client as I wanted Windows XP zero config to do all necessary things. I came to use the WiFi on my Tosh yesterday with my wireless network and was faced with not being able to find either of my 2 AP - so after switch double check the WiFi was on, I started my spare laptop and found them immediately.

Fortunately my spare laptop also has an Intel wireless card so I made sure that all my settings in the properties of the device match (best I could since one is a model of diff), but the default settings matched. I then continued to update the drivers from the Intel site - this time, I installed the Intel Wireless Client. I noticed that the Intel client icon in the system tray is lit blue (so I guess that its on), then changes the clear logo with a red on X. When I open the Intel customer and try to turn on the Radio via the menu dropdown but I get an error saying "the intel pro/wireless network connection is still disabled. Use your hardware switch to enable it. Although the wireless switch is on and the light orange light it up! Utility troubleshooting Intel said almost the same thing and the observer of events of Intel wireless display not all entries after cranking up what I am trying to turn on the radio via the client and the message I can get is "Radio off by IWA.

In my frustration, I noticed that my keyboard has a function (FN + F8) key to activate wireless however I tried to load the hotkey Toshiba (& common Modules) wireless drivers U200 its not listed for the P100. Alas, no money after pressing FN + F8 will make any difference - I checked and the Toshiba Wireless HotKey (toshkcw.exe) runs in the 'process' of the Task Manager. Unfortunately, I've never tried this shortcut when I still had XP Home installed so I can only assume that HK is not supposed to not work.
After that, I tried to uninstall the drivers again and reinstall the drivers from the Toshiba site downloads and always end up with the same problem.

... Is being short of formatting again and from scratch there anything else that I missed?

Cheers for any help you guys can give!

    Hello

It is really not easy to say what is missing here. As far as I know that satellite Pro P100 is already preinstalled (comes) with WXP Pro and I really don t understand why you try to install this new but without recovery media. Perhaps because of the other language?

In any case, you can also install your own operating system. All the drivers, tools and utilities must be installed in the correct order. Check the document facilities instructions on the download page.

It will be really interesting to know if it was the problem with the factory settings. You cannot mix designed models of different laptops Toshiba tools because it is not the same (U200 tool for P100). This FN + F8 option should appear if the right tool or utility is preinstalled, but please don t ask me that one. It's really different from unit to unit and facilities plan is similar but not the same thing.

    Hello

Have you checked the State in Device Manager? There is a yellow question mark? If there is no problem with the right mouse button you can activate it.

If there is no green light try anyway to make connection and check the functionality of the wireless card. Perhaps is the lack of green light.

  • R51 Intel PRO/Wireless NIC 2200BG will not keep Radio Active

Trying to activate an Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG NIC I have it configured and connected. After a reboot or power down/up the NIC comes up with the 'device wireless off. I see this when I go to Device Manager and select properties for this network controller. And then clicking the Advanced tab, I see "(radio off) wireless device" with a check box indicating that it is indeed 'off '. I uncheck this box and the message "this setting only take effect if the power button on the adapter is turned." Then clicking OK two times the changes are applied and the NIC rises and works until the process of booting from the network. I tried updating the driver, but the update process tells me that I'm late a (8.0.12.20000) installed. I searched this forum but have not seen all the patches. Anyone have any ideas? TIA for any help.

    Bob Helms

    The answer is;

1 uninstall the wireless network card.

2 re-boot and let XP find the wireless network card.

    3. manually configure the wireless NETWORK adapter to work with your wireless router.

If you do not manually turn off the radio it will remain turned on and configured after a re-boot.

    Thanks for your replies.

I have an Equium M40 with an Intel Pro wireless network adapter. When you try to set the encryption wireless adsl modem asks me to set the security on the adapter. I seem to not beable to find it, do I need to download a software to change this, or can it be done in windows? running XP home.

    Hello

You should not install Intel client Manager. The WLAN configuration can be made using the WLAN Windows settings. Encryption can be set in the properties of the wireless network connection > wireless networks > favorite network properties.

    Hallo Simon

One thing is strange to me. You ordered the WLAN card update? Technicians have tested the functionality of WLAN card? Did you send your laptop to the Toshiba authorized service partner?

If the map is compatible and correctly installed, you should be able to activate the card by using the WLAN switch. Please try to reinstall the driver. You can find it on http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/wlan/

One last thing: is your laptop preinstalled with Toshiba recovery image?
