  • Prices NP-FM50 NP-FM500H interchangeable?

I have an old battery NP-FM50 with my old Sony Mavica digital camera disc.  Can I use this battery in my new Sony SLT A-58?

Hi carterike! The NP-FM50, NP-FM500H are not identical when it comes to physical appearance. The main difference would be the Groove on the NP-FM500H which is not present on the FM50. This is the case, the NP-FM50 does not fit into the battery compartment of the SLT - A58 camera due to the indented inside. On the other hand, the NP-FM500H battery will go in because of the Groove corresponding to the protrusion.

  • RMT-DSLR2 is compatible with the SLT - A55 camera wireless?

  • Sony A55 vs Device Stage via USB, not enough of work

Sony A55 digital camera (or more correctly the SLT-A55V United States w / GPS) has two modes of operation for its USB connection: PTP and mass storage.  This question is about its use in mode PTP with Device Stage.  Compatibility Center lists the A55, sustained.

(Device Stage does NOT recognize the device when the mass storage mode value.)  On the other hand, Sony software only works with the USB to the camera in mass storage mode.  This question is NOT on the use of the camera with Sony software.  In fact, the real point of the question is: how best to use this device with Win7 * without * Sony bundled software.)

Two problems noticed so far, when you use the mode USB PTP of A55 w / Device Stage:

    (1) the "erase after importing" does not work, images remain on the camera independently checked/unchecked (minor annoyance)

    (2) all of the videos on the camera (uses his MP4 format) are not transferred (important deal breaker)

Device Stage has no such problems with several other cameras that we have (mainly Point & Shoot varieties, for the most part, the Canon), where it clears after import and transfers all media so always correctly or video.   The problematic behavior seems to be unique to the A55.

The A55 is the latest version of the firmware (2.0), and behavior of Device Stage is unchanged if Sony beam is installed (i.e. the bundle Sony doesn't seem to install anything that creates OR that corrects the problem)

For example, q: is there something that can be fact/configured for Device Stage (or the A55 himself?) to solve these problems?

    TIA

    Hi davbol.

You will need to contact Sony support for firmware\driver was last updated for the necessary changes.

  • HVL-F43M connect to SLT-A55V

    How can I connect a new flash HVL-F43M SLT-A55V (Alpha 55) camera?

The Flash has a shoe of Multi Interface and the Sony A55 doesn't.  What alternatives are there if I don't want feature drop? What adapter would be the right pair?

The adapter ADP - WADA can be fixed on the hotshoe accessory of your SLT-A55V self-locking door and you can then attach accessories multi-interface shoe to the camera, like the HVL-F43M. No functionality will be lost with the use of this adapter.

Please note that there may be third-party adapters available, but we have not tested them and we cannot guarantee full functionality.

  • Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 - RAW and Sony A55 support?

    Thanks Scott.

Yes the SLT-A55V is also supported.

  • Is the a57 a full frame camera?

I'm trying to find out if the a57 is a camera full frame.

Sorry but the A57 SLT is not a camera full frame is an APS - C, the camera only full frame in the range Sony right now IM A99.

  • which one to buy, a55 or a65?

these cameras are the only ones that I can afford, and since im new to this type of cameras any help or suggestion or whatever it is will be appreciated...

    Now what I need is:

Click here: I mean I want the one with the soft click so I don't have to press hard take the picture (and therefore it will not be as shakey or something when I press)

Extreme for landscape, Portrait, close-up, people (or these will vary on the lens?) (if you know what I mean by the "extreme")

and can someone explain to me or at least a summary version of which is f / x and mm because I do not really understand their but based on me, more the highest number?

Finally, if you were me, what would you get a55 or a65?

I didn't know the A55 was yet available his almost three years now and has been replaced by the A57 & more recently, the A58 motorway, then I'd go with the A65.

The shutter does not have a lot of pressure to activate, and the camera has built in stabilization to help traffic.

I'm not sure what you mean by "extreme" and Yes, the type of photography you want to do depends on the type of lens used as and yet there is not all available objective.

Lets start with MM it means just a used special lens zoom range so a 10-24mm zoom Zen is considered a wide angle because you can adapt many of the subject in a shot that would be good for a landscape vs. a 200-500mm zoom which allows you closer to your subject with to actually do near them It's a good goal for pictures of wild life.

F stop refers to the size of the opening, the opening is the opening in a lens which controls the amount of light is the sensor of the camera lowest number as F1.8 is a very large opening to let a lot of light in vs a F22 which is a very small opening and leaves not a lot of light in. The advantage of a large opening is a good fast shutter for fast moving subjects, but having the largest opening is very expensive usaully. The F stop also controls the depth of field. the link will explain that one.

  • AEB (Auto Exposure Bracketing) is supported in the SLT A-58?

    Hello

I want to know if the newly launched model SLT A58 supports the functionality of AEB to shoot HDR or not? If so, use this feature?

    Thank you.

The SLT - A58 has a continuous mode of support available in drive mode settings. In this context, the camera will have three consecutive shots with varying degrees of exposure. You can choose to 0.3 EV, 0.7 EV, EV 1.0, 2.0 EV and 3.0 EV support measures.

In addition, the camera has an auto HDR mode. The camera takes three photos automatically and combines them to get an overlay image. You can choose from 1.0 EV 6.0 EV steps.

  • best tripod for SLT A58

    Hello

Can someone please suggest a good tripod for SLT A58?

    Thank you.

If you plan to use the camera also for the recording of film or if you have other Sony cameras with the new Multi USB terminal I can recommend the VCT-VPR1 that has a version with remote control:

  • What does the "N50" on the bottom of my average A55?

I tried to figure out if my A55 supports the TV video mode, and I see that there is a check box and the "N50" characters on the bottom of the camera, that it has something to do with the TV mode?

    Thank you

    KR

    Hi kinryuu,

The letters and numbers at the bottom of the device indicate the model number, serial number, the situation where it is made, and various licenses. The videos can be played in the United States or in any TV to NTSC if the Unit indicates that it is a model of 1080 60i. For units of the PAL, the camera is a 1080 50i model...

  • Sony Alpha DSLR camera without mirror works with 700si Minolta lenses?

I'm in the market for the mirrorless alpha DSLR series. I have my minolta maxxum 700si minolta lenses. I heard that sony purchased Minolta camera technology and used the same mounts of lens for the new sony cameras. Is this true? I really don't want to buy the unit to see if the lenses to adapt and villages do not work.

    Thank you.

Your Minolta lenses works perfectly on any of the SLR from Sony (three digits model) and boxes (two model numbers) I AM as is. Sony mirrorless cameras (a digit and four-digit numbers model) can be used with an adapter. Sony sells two adapters, THE-EA3 ($200) that takes in charge THE-EA4 ($350) , which supports the AE and AF (although slowly.) but not AF and AE

Sony mirrorless body are nice, but adding the adapter makes bigger, heavier and more expensive than the SLT/SLR bodies, and they do not work as well.

    I suggest that you take a look at Sony A99 ($ 2,000), A77 II ($900) or A58 ($450).

  • Ring of the remote control for a updated firmware A77 camera REQUIRED emphasis comments functionality and design?

    Hello
It is a good complaint and at the same time a good stand on a feature I'd neeeeeed really put in an update of firmware for the camera of the A77 as soon as POSSIBLE (as soon as Possible) like others, I have already asked for what he moooooonths there!
I have spent the money of the month and time in a machine to control the update in order to focus stacking without touching the camera... It does not give the expected results, but maybe after all, I will succeed.

But of course, it would look pretty cheap technology around an expensive Sony which does not any Thetering for this device 3 times the price other cameras with this feature, "Thetering", a term which means remote control the camera from a computer or IPod, mobile phone, etc.

    FUNCTIONALITY NECESSARY:

Everything is necessary at least to do something, would be the ability to reallocate the shutter half pressed the button to advance a specific step. When the focus is narrow, few measures are necessary, but it goes further, steps may be greater. The camera would limit its course to the limits of the focus ring. Once the button out (so not half or completely down) or when the update has reached the limit of development more far, it would be to take a last picture and bring focus back to its position closest to you, ready for the next batch of photo.

Pictures would be taken when completely down. If the focus is not the position of the closet before splashed the process, we could do it manually or select an option from the menu.

Another possibility would be to reassing these 2 keys of the remote control features: a to make one step back, one to make a step forward. The advantage of the 2nd button that allows a remote control, would be the possibility of backwards if we went off for a step.

Overall, it would take very little programming to do this. (mainly add a menu option and the operation of each time button x is pressed, focus moves a step forward, a step being of size proportional to the distance according to a simple formula. Same thing for a button Y in the opposite direction.

    (1) what is the best way to communicate this request to the right people?

If someone expect this feature too, please comment!

    (2) also, where we communicate comments on design issues?

    Thank you

    Hello Mark,

Welcome to the community forums of Sony

Thank you for your comments and feedback for the SLT - A77.  The answer to both questions is, Right Here.

We are able to pass all your firmware requests and comments and suggestions regarding the product directly to the Digital Imaging Group.

We can't promise or provide an ETA, however, we listen and as owners of the NEX-7 can attest, we can impliment when we can.

  • The a58 SLT does support UHS - I?

    Hello

I wonder if the a58 will use a UHS - I card quick or if it will be limited to 25 MB/s as base SDXC readers. What I found the a57 and a65 do not support UHS - I so that the do a77 and a99. What of the a58 motorway?

    Thanks in advance

The SLT - A58 does not support the use of UHS-I accelerates, but a UHS-card I can always be used with the camera.
