  Hi guys, I was wondering if someone can help me. I have an Equium A60-692 with a Pioneer DVR-K13A CD-ROM drive. The current problem I have is that whenever I insert a DVD that was previously burned, not only by my pc, but others that the CD-ROM drive is unable to read. DVD, that I created in the past that worked very well also stopped play. All I get is the orange led flashing first and then rest it perminently on resulting in a failure in the dvd playback. The player plays original DVD movie very well and plays also any form of cd. Do you think the reader is endangered or is there a setting that has been changed? Any help on this would be greatly apreciated.

  It's not easy to say why it of not possible to read the burning DVD.
  You log out of engraving? Sometimes the medium cannot be read because the sessions of burning are not closed. But this is only possible if you burn CD/DVD several times.
  The second possibility could me not supported way. You must use different media.
  However try to remove you drive the Device Manager and reboot the device. The operating system should recognize the drive again. Well maybe this procedure will solve this problem.

  I have a Toshiba Satellite A60 with a Pioneer DVD - RW DVR-K13A. And whenever I try to burn a dvd, it does not work. The drive detects the dvd but I can't burn. I tried several burning such as folder software now! and Intervideo WinDvD Creator. What I need to upgrade the burner or something.

  And the format of the dvd are DVD - R and I checked the manual, and it says: I am able to burn DVD-R.

  This path is not easy to tell if there is only a few small problem or maybe a malfunction but from your description, I assume that the reader can read but not write DVD media. In this case, it is really possible that the drive is faulty.

  If you have tested with different DVD media and the different burning applications, I'm pretty sure that the drive is faulty.

  Don't you know that the use of the incorrect firmware or not is not compatible would be detrimental to your CD/DVD drive?
  You should only use the firmware provided by Toshiba.

  I checked the page European driver of Toshiba and found 6 different firmware updates.
  There are updates for the reader:
  TS-L633P, TS-L633A DVRTD08A, DVRTD08L, TS-L632P TS-L632H

  You got the message because it seems that you used the wrong firmware or is not compatible!

  So if you want to Flash the firmware using the Toshiba files European page:
  http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp

  by the way: some disc can cause some problems if different test types of disks from different manufacturers.

  Have you tried a few different brands of media? Sometimes the burner just don't like some discs. If so, the only thing I can think of to try is to boot from a Linux Live USB and see if it can burn DVDs from a Linux program as k3b for burning. That solve a software problem (Windows).

  What operating system do you use?

  What brand of computer are you using (HP, Dell, etc.)? Have you spent at the web site of the manufacturer and installed the drivers from HP, Dell, support of any web site page? Sometimes drivers that Windows installs are not as effective - especially if you have recently upgraded to Windows 10.

  There may be other factors, but we will need a lot more information in order to solve the deeper problems.

  If version 13/13.1

  a. do it burn to disc with and without preference Intel HD Graphics 2000 or greater disabled... see Edit Menu/preferences/general.

  b. make sure that your version of video graphics card is up-to-date according to the web site of the manufacturer of the card or the computer manufacturer

  Have you looked at the spacing between menu chronological markers, set up transitions and titles?

  I recently bought a laptop TouchSmart tx - 1027ca, as well as support for laptop from HP that I have the laptop usually sitting in tablet mode.  I was wondering if the DVD can be burned at this angle, or if it must be flat on my desk.  I use currently stand is more high angle, but I guess I want to know if it is possible to burn at any one of the three angles.  Also, assuming you can burn at this angle, y at - it no worries about data not being not saved properly compared to if the laptop flat seat.

  I'm sorry if this seems to be a stupid question, but I couldn't find the answer anywhere and just wanted to be sure.

  OK, ok... just for the pleasure of making this post solved (which I hope it will be Lethal), yes you can burn DVD-R at any angle with the support and there is no data corruption. (This can also be confirmed by the fact that some desktop computers are designed to lie flat on a desk like standing vertically in a position to 'tour' and it is possible to burn media in this position without any problem).

  Try to clean the laser lens with a cotton ball and alcohol tip.
  In my case it helped to solve a similar problem with an optical disk drive.

  Have you tried to delete upper and lower filters in the registry of the Windows operating system?
  Isn't it? Try this:
  Completely remove the Upperfilters and Lowerfilters from the following registry key values:
