USB 3.0 ports are normally blue? Right?

Does actually 2 USB 3.0 ports, and it was made until they begin their coding by blue color?
Or are they really 2.0?
One review said 2.0, another says 3.0.
Thank you

    Hi all

Question: How can I switch to high speed USB port?

Thanks for the reply in advance.

First of all, you can't 'upgrade' your internal USB port to a Highspeed USB port. This is NOT possible, but your machine must have at least 2! ports USB 2.0 capable.

I suggest you do the following: download the latest drivers for your machine on Toshiba Driver download site, install and check if the error message appears, anywhere you´re attaching your USB 2.0 device.

Usually one or 2 of these ports should be able to USB 2.0.

If still, you get the same error message then come back and give some comments, then we can discuss more about.

    See you soon

  • Neither one of my superspeed USB ports have already worked

I use Windows 7 on a Dell laptop and none of my speed super USB ports work. The USB 2.0 drive works fine. What should I do to get them to recognize connected devices?

    Hello

Which is perhaps what is obvious. The devices that you want to run out of these 'super speed' USB ports must be capable of USB 3.0, and if connected by a cable, then the cable too must have adapters USB 3.0 on this subject. If the devices are not capable, they 'drop down' to the USB standard which they all, very probably USB 2.0 to USB 3.0.

If they are capable of USB 3.0, then pilots must also work with USB 3.0 or it will not be the USB 3.0 connection. You know the devices and drivers are USB 3.0?

Let me know the complete state of your devices / adapters / drivers so I can help more if necessary.

    Kind regards

Unfortunately, they are all USB 2.0 ports (2 in front) and 4 in the back. No high speed anywhere:

  • Portege Z30-A-12N with Port Replicator Port Hi-Speed USB III problems

    Hi all

I have a big problem with my new Portege Z30-A-12N and Hi-Speed Port Replicator III.

I connected the power, DVI, LAN, mouse and keyboard to the Port Replicator.
Power, DVI and LAN are okay, but none will be found if I connect something to the USB Ports 2.0 or 3.0.
No mouse, no keyboard, and no USB key.

When I start my Portege I must enter a password after you press the power button.
These password, I could enter with the external keyboard, but in windows, no keyboard has been found.

If I connect the keyboard and mouse to the USB Ports of the Portege instead of Port Replicator, the two has been found.

I ran Windows 7 Enterprise on the Portege.
    BIOS version is 3.30

Do you have a solution for me?

    Hello

    The HI-SPEED PORT REPLICATOR III PA5116E-1PRP supports 2 x USB 2.0 and 4 x USB 3.0 ports.
You n t special need Win 7 drivers in order to be able to use the USB ports or other interfaces such as VGA, DVI, audio, etc.

Sound problems, make sure that the audio device has been selected in the right panel-> sound-> playback tab

By the way: Win 7 needs USB driver 3.0 which is preinstalled when the laptop was equipped with USB 3.0 ports. My knowledge if your mobile phone does not support USB 3.0, you will be able to use the port replicator USB 3.0 ports.

Finally and above all devices must be connected before you start the computer. The decision supported and compatible specifications: Portégé R30 - A, Tecra Z40 - A, Tecra Z50 - A, Portégé Z30-A/Z30t-A, Tecra A50 - has

  • Ports high speed USB Equium A100

I installed a webcam Advent (before exchanging it for a better creative). Part of the installation process involves installing a Microsoft's USB controller. (OS is Windows XP Home Edition). I uninstalled the ADVENT software when I got back to the webcam.

Since then, I started getting messages every time I plug a USB device, on a device high-speed, requiring a port high speed.

When I look in Device Manager, I have two sets of Bus USB controllers:

One includes 2 standard OpenHCD USB host controllers, 2 USB, 1 support 2 USB hubs and USB printing composite devices. Their drivers are dated 2001.

The other includes 1 class PCI USB 2.0 enhanced host controller and USB Root Hub Device 1. Their drivers are dated 2006.

I have 4 USB ports and all seem to be using the first series of USB controllers. If I disable one of the controllers, then various USB devices stop working.

As my laptop is only 18 months old, I would have thought that all USB ports are 2.0 version?

How can I 'forcing' the laptop to use the second set of controllers?

    Hello

I think that the biggest problem, it is you would waste more time to fix such a driver related issue then just entering the recovery CD and performing a recovery of your entire system.

Perhaps the fastest way to put little life back to your ports USB 2.0 high-speed. Otherwise, I had suggested to remove all ports from the Device Manager and let windows after a restart re-install all the drivers, but before perform the reboot it would be better to manually remove all THE drivers installed previously.

Maybe it helps, but if not he would have definitely better to perform the recustomization...

  • Satellite A60 - USB ports are not really high speed

    Hello
It seems to me that the SATELLITE A60-197ITA USB ports aren't really high speed. They are very slow!
Some diagnose program says that the BIOS supports USB Legacy...

    What is the problem?
What can I do to have the best performance?

    Hello

I put t know what external device you use, but in my view it is also the external device power function.

Legacy support can be enabled in the HW of Toshiba installation tool. You can find it under control panel.

  • Hi speed USB via a Port Replicator advanced for a Tecra 9100?

I have the same problem with a Tecra 9100 and upgrade to hi speed USB as a previous post where the proposed solution was to use a PCMCIA card.

    (see link: http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=24103)

I had an idea, but I don't know if it will work and need some advice?

Can you buy an Advanced Port Replicator that has Hi Speed USB 2.0 ports on it (like the PA3082U APR II that works with the Tecra 9100) instead of the PCMCIA card.

If the docks of Port Replicator in the motherboard will it give you Hi Speed USB 2.0, or is the Tecra 9100 forced to USB 1.1 via hardware in the laptop itself and the Replicator will not help?

Also if I go down the road of Port Replicator I need drivers for speed ports Hi of the Replicator to work on the Tecra 9100?

Or to ask the question – what is the PCMIA USB 2.0 card in that advanced with HI Port Replicator speeed USB is not?

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

the Tecra 9100 has NO usb 2.0 and it's a fact. Given that the Replicator has these USB ports 2.0 does not mean that your machine when it is docked to the Portrep, is able to manage USB 2.0 devices. The portrep, it's like a usb hub and behaves like. So if your machine doesn´t have it then that's it.

And the explanation on the PCMCIA/Cardbus solution:
The pcmcia card USB 2.0 Chipset, this is the reason why it IS a USB 2.0 device (roothub).

I hope this was clear to you :)

Just buy this card and you will have USB 2.0

    Welcome them

    Hello

Your laptop is USB 1.1 only and you must search another solution for better und for faster transmission of data between laptop and Ipod.

I agree with chain. Card PCMCIA USB 2.0 is best. You can buy in every PC shop but please buy quality and not a product without name at low cost.

    Bye and good luck!

  • Satellite P10-125: speed using very slow data transfer USB ports

Every time I connect a USB device to the laptop it says "this USB device can perform faster if you connect it to a HI-speed USB 2.0 port" while I know all four USB ports on the laptop are hi speed USB 2.0 ports. BTW, I'm using Vista premium.

I need assistance because 1 and a half hours for 5 GB of transfer is simply not enough good

I'm sure that you don't have this problem using the system of operating supported Windows XP Home edition. Am I wrong?

In any case Satellite P10 only is not supported by Vista, and you will not be able to find any driver and especially the chipset driver for this laptop. What to say. stupid situation. Drive external DRIVE is connected to two or a single USB cable?

  • High speed USB 2.0 physical location of the port

I have a HP Pavilion dv6-3122us Notebook PC. I get messages when the transfer of files on the fastest "high speed USB 2.0 port.  My user manual tells me that I have three ports, of which one is a 2.0 port but I am unable to say which is the 2.0 port. Can anyone help me find information on the location and identification of the usb ports?

    James Worthen Sr

I just got offline with a HP tech rep and he told me that the high-speed 2.0 port was, in fact, the eSATA/USB port.

With this port, it gives me four ports and I wouldn't imagine that it was even a USB port, as it seems slightly different rather than the usual USB ports. I pluged my Bluetooth adapter in this port and it works fine. I have not tried to transfer files with this port again, except the photos with the bluetooth, but when I do I will seek to see if I still get the same message while transferring. I doubt I would. I believe that this issue has been resolved and I will mark it as my. Thanks to all who responded.

  • Message from the USB port speed

I have a laptop HP Compaq NW8240 running on W7 last month recently, I plugged in a USB USBHUB04 of Linksys hub. It works fine but when I plug a flashdrive in there, it displays a message in the lower task bar "this USB device can perform faster if you connect it to a hi-speed USB 2.0 port. Should I have a missing driver? I thought that all USB ports on this laptop was 2.0.

Sorry that none of the steps that you took to remedy the problem.

You did exactly what I would have done it, so unfortunately, I couldn't even begin to tell you what to do next.

You may have to live with the status quo.

I wonder if this is a false message...

Your USB devices work more slowly than normal as a USB HARD drive or flash drive.

Data transfer seems slower than you're used to?

  • X 220-Expresscard 2.0 Support / Support full Super Speed USB 3.0 (i7)?

    Hello

I want to learn more about the X 220 - in particular, the available bandwidth for the Version i7 X 220 with its 3 USB port.

I wish I could use black magic Design intensity shuttle with this laptop, but it requires a Super Speed USB 3.0 Port.

It is common for laptops to use only an interconnection of single lane PCIe, giving Port USB3 2.5gbps only one of the available bandwidth. It will not be sufficient to allow this capture card work

A similar situation is also for housing Expresscard - to be able to support Expresscard v2.0, it must provide of 5gbps (2 x PCIe v1 track). If it does, it is possible that I can buy an Expresscard 3 USB card that will have sufficient bandwidth to use the card.

In short, I would like to know if the super speed USB 3 port can actually work at the speed and he's not paralyzed at half price.

Just after this post because I bought the current laptop, I can confirm it support expresscard 2.0 in theory (he has a pcie 2.0 x 1 port), but more importantly for me, it has a speed great port USB 3.0 running on a lane PCIe 2.0 x 1. Good news!
