  • Epson Scan software crashing now

    2 days ago, that the Epson Scan application started crashing immediately on opening.  I spent literally 3 hours online with Epson.  In the process I've uninstalled and reinstalled the entire Epson folder, cleaned and reloaded the files library and preferably, but still get the same result.  I tried the setting up of a new user on the computer and first on this new user account that I could open the software but the second time I tried it immediately crashed on the opening.  I guess that I have a conflict with another application or something in the OS, but I'm at a loss at this point.  It is a request that my wife uses frequently so any help would be greatly appreciated.

    I see from your post that your Epson scanning application started crashing immediately during opening. You have talked with Epson and tested this question in a new user account, and you are still having a problem. I can certainly understand how it is important that you are able to use your scanner software. I'm happy to help you with this problem.

    You mentioned a potential conflict with another application. I would recommend from your computer in safe mode and then do a test to see if you get the same result with the Epson application crashing. Safe mode (sometimes called secure boot) is a way to start up your Mac so that it performs certain checks and prevents certain software from loading automatically or opening.

    Use OS X El Capitan: start in safe mode, more precisely, this section:

    Start in safe mode can help you diagnose problems you're having with your Mac.

    Important: To print these instructions, click the Share button in the Help window, and then choose print.

    1. Choose the Apple menu > shut down.

    2. After your Mac stops, wait 10 seconds, then press the power button.

    3. As soon as you hear the startup tone, hold down the SHIFT key.

      You must press the SHIFT key as soon as possible once you hear the startup tone, but not before.

    4. Release the SHIFT key when you see the gray Apple logo and progress indicator.

    To exit safe mode, restart your Mac, but no press during the startup.

    If you find that you are not having a problem with safe mode, take a look at the section 'If a problem does not occur in safe mode"in the article below.

    Try safe mode if your Mac does not end commissioning

  • Epson Stylus 845Printer problem

    I use a newer iMac (retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2014,4 GHz Intel Core i7).  I've just updated to OS X El Capitan Version 10.11.6.

    I installed the latest OS X update a few days ago.  Now, I have a problem with my printer (Epson WorkForce 845) connected wireless.  The only way I can print is to put off the printer, restart and then immediately send the document to the printer.  After a few minutes the connection is lost.  I use the printer again.  It worked, but only for a few minutes.  All this is fine.  Everything worked fine until I installed the latest update.  I checked with Epson.  The last recommended drivers (11.4) are installed.  Any help would be appreciated.

    If you close the quatiers use the LAN port instead of a WI - FI connection with a network cable CAT 5 or CAT 6.

    If you are close to the computer, use the USB port (it is the best way to connect a printer)

    If the device works then the problem is with your wi - fi and you can reset the device.

  • Cannot print via Epson WF-6590

    One of my users can't print continuously on our printer Epson WF-6590. The device is hard plugged into our network, the firmware is up to date and everyone in the office can print, except for a single user. It allows to print one or two times before either an error of communication or message filter has failed is displayed. It's a very intermittent problem, and more often than otherwise, this occurs when a host of jobs present one after the other.

    I have tried tons of troubleshooting steps. So far, include:

    resetting the printing system

    * Add the printer via the latest Epson PS driver

    adding the device by IP and Hello

    * permissions of the drive checked and repaired

    * updated with the latest OS (10.11.6)

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Have you tried to replace the network cable from the Mac of the router or whatever it is connected.

    Try it with a cable that you know works.

    Your new "signed apps" will not allow use of unsigned after the 41 version. This won't allow 'E - Web Print' Epson app right now, and the description says you will be disable rather than allow me to assume the risk. I like Firefox, but won't trash my new Epson printer - so will be forced to use another browser. Will allow users to assume the risk for applications not signed for a longer period, so that these exclusions do not occur for those willing to take the risks?

    Please use the Apple Support communities for help. From your post, I understand that you are unable to access the printer that is connected to one of your iMac, others in the House. I know it's nice to be able to print from all of your devices, so I'm happy to help you to provide advice for this.

    From the information you provided, it seems that there is some confusion about the way the printer is shared on your devices. In order to have a shared printer, you must only share from the computer to which it is connected. From there, you can connect to this printer with other computers. Perform these steps on the iMac to which it is attached:

    How to share a printer:

    1. Open sharing preferences if it is not already open (choose Apple menu > System Preferences and click Sharing), then check the box print sharing.

    2. Under printers, select the printer you want to share.

      When you share a printer, all users on your network ("everyone") can use by default. If you want to restrict access to specific people, go to steps 3 and 4.

    3. Click on the button Add at the bottom of the users list, and then do one of the following:

      • Select a user in users and groups, that includes all your Mac users.

      • Select a user from the network or users groups network, which includes everyone on your network.

      • Select a person in your contacts. Create a password for the person, then click on create an account.

    4. When you add people to the list of users, access to the shared printer is reset to no access for the users of your network ("everyone"). To provide access to everyone again, click the triangles, then choose can print.
