Access denied (c :))

There, someone can help me or do I call the Geek Squad?  78, I'm getting too old for this aggrevation!

Running Vista 64 on Dell I545 on home network (3) prepares to move to W7.  To transfer files from spare backup XP Pro sharing the drive C of Vista.  Seemed more fast & reasonable thing to do.  Not so much! Next thing I know that access is denied to the C and its been downhill from there.   Nothing works!  Impossible to restore, to get the start menu (safe, etc.), MSCONFIG, etc..  Following the tips online, have disabled UAC and now half say the denials "cannot open access control editor.  Start translates into black screen «systemdisk» invalid  Downloaded the MS startup disk that starts the computer if I book on F12.  From there, I tried the Dell reinstall the drive, no luck, & finally tried the c drive in the menu and Vista Home.  Now I just turn off the computer.

Now, I just want my computer with Vista (worst) or Win7 and forget the backup files.  There must be a way!

Dell recovery options:

And that way if you have a recovery partition on your hard drive.

You are using a bookmark, or you start with the homepage (home) on this Web site?

If you use a bookmark to open a specific page on the server and then try to navigate to this page from the home page or the page of connection Web site where this bookmark is currently suspended.

Best is to avoid the bookmarking a specific page which has been achieved by sending POST data in a (hidden) form or bookmarking a page that contains the GET data added to the URL (? xxx = xxx) or links to a specific area in the case where load balancing is used because they can easily get broken if changes are made to the server.

  • Cannot install extensions - access denied

I am trying to install an extension, but a message pops up saying that Firefox prevented me from moving it. I'm going to the addon website and try to install from there, but I get another message saying Firefox "cannot change the necessary file. I think I know what it is - the extensions folder in my profile, it's all the 'access denied' - NOTHING I could move I tried through the Security tab, but everything he tells me it is that I need read permissions. I tried to delete the directory via the command prompt, but it tells me the same thing, "access denied"... I'm puzzled! But I have to install this extension!

Never mind; access the file reopened after awhile and I could get my extensions.

  • TB update fails and I get an error of access denied to 7 - Zip when you download a new version.

Thunderbird was not able to update from version 24.6.0 (under Windows 7). Whenever I try to auto update, it tells me that the update fails. When I let the updater download a full version, which also fails. When I try to download a new version manually, during the extraction process, I get an error message indicating "7-Zip" up and "Access denied" in the window. I followed all the suggestions to the support download error page (as an administrator, stop the process of Thunderbird, etc.), and none of them solved the problem. Any other ideas?

What firewall / anti-virus software you are using. My guess is that the firewall or the anti virus software blocks both the update and full installation because it contains ZIP files. I have not heard that outside the paranoid company / parameters of business in the past, but there's always a first time.

This problem may be caused by corrupted cookies or cookies that are blocked.

Clear the cache and delete cookies only from Web sites that cause problems.

    "Clear the Cache":

    • Edit > Preferences > advanced > network > content caching Web: 'clear now '.

    'Delete Cookies' sites causing problems:

    • Edit > Preferences > privacy > "Use the custom settings for history" > Cookies: "show the Cookies".

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem.

Firefox functioned perfectly until we have updated to version 30.0. It seems that the new version does not like our Proxy Configuration that requires users to auth with their AD accounts.

In the latest version, Firefox will appear a box that allow you to type the user name and password that works perfectly. However, this is not pop up anymore and gives me this error message.

    The following error was encountered:

I try to configure the username into a key ring and allow firefox to access manually, but Firefox seems does not access this key chain at all.

Is that someone has a problem with the proxy server that needs to authenticate in Firefox30.0? Does anyone know the possible solutions?

You probably accidentally "run" the file, and there is a window somewhere waiting for you to click 'OK' or something, when an exe is runing, windows do not allow you to delete it. But it should allow you to remove it if it is not not runing.

    I get the error:

    1008:9,-5000 access denied error

As I am installing of Sonivox Vocalizer. It is a plugin for Logic 9.

I traced down on the threads here that it's a common problem with the vise Installer application that many use to install their software, so they do not install for the same reason. Apparently the cause of changes in security in mac OS.

How manually set privileges TEMPORARILY so that I can get this software to be installed from the installation disc?

P.S. I already do not clean install (only admin), updated, then disk utility used to repair permissions and that it was not fixed.

You may need to restore the permissions on your user account. To do this, start on your recovery partition (hold down the command and R during startup) and open Terminal from the Utilities menu. In the Terminal, type: 'resetpassword' (without the), press return, and then select the admin user. You do not have to reset your password. Click the icon of your Mac hard drive at the top. In the list box below, select the user account that has problems. At the bottom of the window, you will see a box labeled restore Home Directory permissions and ACLs. Click the button to reset there. The process takes a few minutes. When you're finished, restart.

  • Pavillion 500-368na: ERROR of UEFI: verification failed (15) access denied

Since today when I start or restart my PC, I immediately get a blue screen that says:

    Verification failed: (15) access denied

I press return to enter 'OK' and get another blue screen called "Shim UEFI key management.

I gives me 3 options: continue start; Register the disk key; Enter the hash of the disc

If I select Register hash/key I have a long list - I tried selecting some of them, but the key is not found [message: only the encoded DER certificate (*.cer/der/crt) is supported].

If I select continue starting I boot directly into Windows 8.1 (64-bit) despite my system dual-boot with a Linux distribution (and work with Linux and Windows perfectly until today). Every time I have start or restart, I have to go through this same sequence and can only start Windows.

    Info additional possiblly important:

    (1) I was prompted to upgrade to Windows 10 but have not yet done yet - I "hide" the 8.1-> upgrade option 10.

    (2) yesterday (i.e. just before this problem appeared) the HP Support Assistant "HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI" updated version 5.8.2.0

At any expert UEFI tips to overcome this problem of access denied or tell me how to register the key that seems to be lost for some reason?
