  I used my external hard drive as usual on my XP machine for months, but yesterday I had to use it on another computer running Windows 7. Windows 7 asked something like "do you want to enable access to this hard drive?" and I clicked Yes thinking that it wouldn't cause any problems (showed a green bar that drains into the upper part of the window), but now that I'm trying to use it again on my XP machine I get an access denied error such as permissions changed. I just installed service pack 3, but which did not help.

  Help it would be greatly appreciated the fixing, I'm happy to just continue to use the external drive on my XP machine - use it on other Windows 7 machine was just one time.

  I see that a lot of timing issues lately, forced windows security update last week looks like maybe it's the culprit. Reinstall DTM has set for a few PC for me. Just think if you want to uninstall 4.3, might as well update on installation.

  The fonts folder is blocked with a "read-only" access  I can't find any way to change the permissions on the folder (there is no security tab), and any attempt to change the status of reading is has met an insufficient privileges error message.  I notice that the fonts have been added during the last few days several times but I have nothing personally for it - he did alone (how I don't know).  I admit be baffled by your inability to add fonts using your CD (even though I'm reasonably sure it's read-only permission which is at the origin of the problem).   My friend's laptop computer was destroyed in a car accident. I pulled the drive and placed it in my desktop XP system and the drive appear in good health. However, I received permission issues trying to access records on the disk and thought that it was because of me using Win XP and the laptop was Win7x64. My questions below are based on the assumption that I'm not able to access these files on my Win XP system. If this assumption is incorrect, so please let me know.

  I have a laptop that I don't use and put the disk in it. I was hoping it would be plug and play all the new material, but after reading a little online, I know that this is not the best thing to do and will probably not work as did the earlier versions of Windows.

The only difference between the 2 laptops in this area is that mine shows 'Gateway Internet' in the 'Network Infrastructure' and the other laptop shows router WiFi.   [1] turn Off automatic updates and leave it off.  Disable the notification of screen nag is a problem to have automatic updates off the coast.

  If you have not installed IE8, IE8 install using the exe to install full version offline and the decline of downloading updates.
