Access to the hard drive USB network - WAG310G

Hello.. I have a 500 GB USB hard drive attached to my WAG310G, but it can be accessed from the network. IM using XP Pro.

Someone suggested to go to start / run and typing \\192.168.1.1\, but I just get an error "the network not found path.

This seems to be a really hard to find an answer, because I can't find any help on the internet either.

Help, please!

See / Kevbb.

I think that you do not have the possibility to access the drive on the network, but you can use the interface of the router to store your entire network on the USB connected to your router.

If you have DDNS service, you can manage the storage device using the WAN IP address. To enable WAN HTTP access, you must enable remote access on the Administration > management screen and disable the firewall on the security > firewall screen.

  • How to access the hard drive USB on E3000? Am I missing something?

I have my router configuration fine to the internet, as well as the media server.  I can't understand how to access the hard drive of my laptop, however.  The manual says to put 192.168.1.1 in the field the address of windows Explorer, but it gives me just the 'Setup' page for the router.

Am I missing something simple?  I use Windows XP.

Click on start - go to start > Run/start search and type "\\192.168.1.1" (without the quotes) and press on enter and it should ask the user name and password, the user name and password, use "admin" all lower case, and then click Ok... Now you should be able to see your USB... You must make a right click on it and select "Map network drive" and check the Enable box and below click Finish... It will map the USB on your computer... Once done, you will be able to send and receive data from your computer to the USB...

  • How can I block access to the hard drive to windows when the computer is blocked?

When I leave the computer on and 'blocked' option it accesses the hard drive and "work like crazy. Simple I want to block all the software to access the disk hard until I connect again.

I want the computer to be available on the network, but does not.

    Thank you

Sorry, but that is simply not possible.  Each computer doing something, if you're connected or not, each tick every millisecond it's on.  If you could freeze the process somehow, you would also freeze the processes and services that would allow you to access the network. Better, we advise to leave it alone, lock to prevent others from accessing and then do what you need to on the network.

  • Access to the hard drive internal

    Hello

I currently have two hard drives in my PC. An SSD that manages windows and various other programs etc. In addition, another hard drive. call it a storage disk. At the moment it is accessible by any user of the PC. I was wondering if there is a way to limit disk storage of said access to individual logons? Thus, for example, if has and B were at the PC users... user A could see their files and not user B? Pretty much the same premise as a logon to their own profile and be able to only see their own stuff.

Or is it possible to simply restrict the said walk completely one user?

Any advice would be much appreciated!

    Thank you!

Right-click any folder on the external drive, then click Properties, click the Security tab. Now, add or remove user names in the list at the top according to your needs.

Missing a very important information: preinstalled OS the original that you have with your laptop or you have installed a clean version of Windows?

When you buy the new book it comes with factory settings. If long your laptop has this plant, you will be able to install the recovery image according to instructions with F8 at startup. If you change something that it will no longer work (install own os, partition structure).

In this case you must use the created recovery disc but I assume you didn't create one although it is clearly described in the document s user manuals.

Problem is that you can't do much. Either it works or not. If there is no way to install image recovery I'm afraid you need to order the new Mr. recovery disk you can do it on https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx

  • access to the hard drive

whenever I double click on my HD a window appears which suggests programs to open with. What is this caused by some virus? Malware?

    Morpheuz,
This could possibly be caused by a virus or another type of corrupted file.  I suggest you run a virus scan first.  So if you have your XP CD, go to the command prompt and run sfc/scannow. You can also set the default program is explorer.exe. Mike - Engineer Support Microsoft Answers

  • Satellite A100 - question on the removal of the HARD drive

    Hi all

I opened the back panel and have Visual access to the hard drive. It is placed in a kind of rubber cradle / cage. Please advise on how to remove the hard drive and replace it with a new one.

I need to do this is because I am faced with recurring problems of bad sector and now XP will not boot. So I intend to install a new 160 GB HARD drive and use the recovery disc.

Also, I enclose the picture of the HARD drive in the laptop when the case was opened.

Looking forward to your prompt response.

    Thanks in advance.

Move the HARD drive to the left and the HARD drive will be disconnected. Place it on a flat surface like desktop and remove the two plastic covers by moving them to the left or the right.

  • You can skip the hard drive passwords?

I don't always have access to each hard drive in my W530. In fact, I'm going to install Linux on an external drive and I prefer not having one of my hard drives internal to be accessible. Normally, when I do at home, I just unplug the readers that I do not want to write accidentally on, but doing this on a laptop computer, you must remove the drive with a screwdriver instead of just a disconnect quickly.

Is there a way I can jump in front of the guests of HDD password and simply continue without access to the hard drive? I googled around and found nothing.

If the player is pw protected and is physically in the machine, you will get the pw guest. There is no way to skip this step
