accidentally auto imported all the images of USB

My Macbook Pro has been sluggish, so I moved 5000 photos to a USB enabled immediately. I needed to photograph then inserted the USB, but even if I just looked at them via preview, 5000 images imported automatic again in the library & now I'm back for sluggish Mac. Why this happens, I can cancel it without spending many hours it took to wean their in the first plac, what prefs I need to change to avoid a recurrence. Is there a recommended book or a site I can access to improve my habits of production, etc.! I use iphoto, but it has changed a lot since I started using it several years and feel as I know even more, although I use it every day. Help! I use iphoto 9.5.1 MacBook Pro 10.9.5.

iPhoto is not an automatic import facility. The only way these images got bak in the library is if you have imported the, I'm afraid.

What is your hard drive? How much free space on it?

You have a back up?

  • Why my LR 5.5 will not import all the images in my cards cf or external hard drive

Hello.  My Lightroom was working fine until yesterday, no problem to import anything and now nothing.  I tried to import my raw images from my cf card and I get "following images could not be imported because they could not be read" (97).  I can import directly into my outside and they are there so I know this isn't a card problem. Actually I jumped in a card that charged just fine the week last with the same images it has previously downloaded and still nothing.

I tried also to import the files in my external and a folder on the desktop.  Nothing. When I do this I get "could not copy a file at the location requested.  (883).

It's so frustrating, I have several shoots this week and need to have my back running lightroom as it was.  Any help is greatly appreciated!

Work off the power of a desktop mac 10.9.3

    Thank you

OK - success!  What I did on the top bar I clicked on the icon for drive hard mac and he told me where the old store was and I clicked on one that I could recognize.

    Thank you very much!

  • All the images in my preview box are dimmed.

I'm all new to LightRoom. He got a bit messy m. I searched for help in the manual, but nothing helped. After the import, all the images in my preview area have now faded. Double click on each will bring up in color, but the gradation in the full view is certainly not normal or optimal.

And I can't select a new module. If I can pass these two obstacles, I'm sure I can handle the rest.

    Thank you

I guess you're talking about grayed out like on the screen shown below will appear. If so, images grayed out in the import window preview space means that they have already been imported into your catalog. To get the library module, you will need to right-click on the button cancel on the bottom of the import window

    Hi Peter,.

If some how changed the order sorted, you can go back sorting to 'Added A order' in the toolbar.

or, choose all the photos and click the view menu and sort to choose the sort order.

  • How can we change all the images in the import of ref file to copy into the doc?

Y at - it an easy way to change all the images in a file 'import by reference' to 'copy in the document '?

The way I currently have to do is delete and re-import and resizing an image at a time and even in a

single document with 30 images, this can take forever! Surely it more soon than that?

My company has always used the "Import by reference" option when you add images to our frame documents.

But things have moved on and we are now a global business and send a large number of these files to our sister sites.

E mailing 1 file is much more logical to emailing file 1 framework and 40 image files, especially when files

are in a different folder structure.

    ACE,

You have a lot of good advice here on best practices, but I don't think that someone at - it answered your question. The answer is no, there is no way easy, unless you have access to the FrameScript or the FDK.

  • Import all THE Photos of the iPhone

    Hello

I am trying to import all the photos currently on my iPhone 6.  The unit is showing that it is about 18 000 photos on the phone (under the settings-> general-> has comments).  However, when I connect the phone to my MacBook Pro and throw iPhotos, ImageCapture - or even Adobe Lightroom - I gives me only the opportunity to import the last 4 500 images!

How can I import ALL the pictures on the device?

    Thank you

    B.

What are the parameters for iCloud > Photos on your iPhone?  Is iCloud library enabed storage "optimize"?

Then, your photos are actually in iCloud and not all photos can be imported from your iPhone.

If iCloud library is not enabled, the photos on your iPhone could have been synced to the iPhone via iTunes.  Photos you sync with iTunes on your iPhone are not in the film and you can not download using a USB connection.

  • iPhoto will show not all the images in 2016

Since the beginning of the year, all the images that I imported into iPhoto just disappear. They are there in the depths of the file system, but iPhoto refuses to show them. It shows the last import correctly, but as soon as I import something else, these images disappear iPhoto. "In the last 12 months' shows photos for 2015, up to the last import 29/12. "All photos" also stops at 12 29, 2015.

I had to repair and rebuild on the database - it doesn't matter. I also searched the web but found nothing relevant.

Most likely - the date on your camera is set to false

Right-click on either in the last import and select Show in times where it is - without doubt, you will immediately see the problem and the most likely cause is your date setting camera

my suggestion was supposed to replace navigationclick on-screen.
If you want to ignore it for the field that you do not have to use getLeafFieldWithFocus.

I suggest that you think your code, don't write things and try to operate, fist think about something and then implement.
our projects at the University were generally 80% design, 20% of coding - it was strange at first, but it produced a lot more code.

  • All the Images in a predominant color of the filter?

Here´s my question: no Google relevant not results up to now!

I have 30,000 photos accumulated over the years, many are useless (too dark, too bright).

    I need to remove them.

How can I select all the images that are either too dark or too bright?

Mathematically, this would be relatively simple: filter the images where the majority of the pixels are black / white.

I m relatively new to Lightroom, but this seems like a feature that should be out of the box.

    Thanks for the help.

    Francisco

If you offer some kind of automatic rejection based on the mathematical number of pixels, I think that the drastic kind of solution could be detrimental. Some pictures are dark in nature [night scenes], little light.  You could throw [probably] photos you might want to keep.  The best solution is to use the X key to reject all images you don't want and then Photo > delete rejected Photos or [Ctrl] + [Backspace] (I think it would be command + BACKSPACE on the Mac).  In the future, as you advance, I would eliminate what you don't want to not keep when imported [as suggested earlier].  I don't think that anyone would rely on software to make that kind of decision.

I have done this no luck there. When I open "windows live photo gallery" all records are on the left of the window but empty. I did not send any of these files to the "trash".  Can someone tell me how to recover these?

You ran the scanner of MS too? It will take some time, but it must be done. If a virus is responsible for it must be nuked before he can ravage any more.

Send all the pictures? You can still recover these - and get some help course in order to avoid this sort of thing. External hard drives and online storage are worth a small spending to protect valuable files. I also keep the dvd - outdated image files but enough fix if even they can deteriorate over time (but don't we all!)

Let us know if the scan MS lands anything - run the full scan - it will take time.
