Accidentally took possession of the C: drive, I am able to come back on this action and give back the property to the SYSTEM?

I took possession of some files in CMD when I accidentally took possession of the car, I installed Windows (c), and I panicked. is it possible to return to this action?

Thank you
EDIT: I also accidentally made the terrible mistake of appropriating of System32. I hope that the information you give me to C: will be equally useful for this!

Hello

I suggest to follow the steps provided and check if it helps.

(a) click the drive you want to delete the property to and then click Properties.

(b) click on the Security tab, click Advanced, and then click the owner tab.

(c) click on edit. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

(d) click on the name of the user or group, and then click Remove.

    Suggestions;

    1. make sure that your e-mail program is your default program.

    2. make sure that your Internet Explorer, or your main browser has all its faults.

You can do both of the above by following these steps...

Start button > right column, click default programs > click Set Your Default programs...

    1. click on your e-mail program > it doesn't say "this program has all its defaults"?
If not, click on choose by default for this program > check all boxes below the list > click on save when finished.

2 do the same as above for your Internet Explorer, or your main browser.

  • My new Kindle Fire HD when connected to USB causes files on my external HARD drive to go away, they come back when the Kindle is disconnected and after a reboot, any help please

If after installation with kindle, connected external HARD drive disappears

USB ports are usually "matched" in groups, called hubs root.  These root hubs then control and distribute the power to the USB ports.  If any device on one of the two ports, the hub root, requires too much power, the other port loses power.  When a port USB Hub root loses power, the devices connected to the port 'disappears' of the Windows session.  Normally, after you disconnect the devices from the USB port and reconnect them "must" bring these.

A free USB powered hub can help.  These allow usually additional power over USB ports, on its own USB ports.

The HP4194A is an old instrument, and as such, it is not unusual for ancient instruments to does not implement does not the SCPI standard commands. Therefore, to have "ID?" instead of "* IDN? • How to regain possession of the file on my Vista PC after that it has been hijacked by my Windows laptop, 8...

I plugged my external drive to backup on a laptop Windows8 and Windows8 cell phone apparently took possession of the file that I accessed from the external drive.  Now I can't access this file from my Vista PC.  He tells me that I don't have permission to access the file, even though my account is administrative and the file was written from Vista computer!

Help!  These are image files and as a photographer, I need to access the files on the hard drive on my Vista computer!

Type in the start - Help and Support

    appropriators

I installed a new version of Windows and now I can't open a file.

This problem may occur because some of your user account information has changed, even though your user name and password have not changed. You may be able to solve the problem by taking possession of the record.

To take ownership of a folder

    1. Right click on the folder that you want to take control and then click Properties.

    2. Click the Security tab, click Advanced, and then click the owner tab.

    3. Click on change.  If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

    4. Click on the name of the person you want to give to the property.

    5. If you want that person to be the owner of the files and subfolders in this folder, select the Replace owner of subcontainers and objects to check.

    6. Click OK.

What help does not say, it is after taking possession, that you actually need to give yourself permissions to access the files. Use the permissions , rather than the owner above tab tab.

  • Cannot start the various services of the system; "Error 5: access is denied."

While the usual game of services configured to start automatically, they, well, aren't... And trying to make em start manually translates "access denied" or "dependency service or group could not start" error. Only a small handful of load on their own, but they do not include, for example, the Remote Procedure Call service.

The user account is supposed to have administrative access; the Group of user accounts (accessed via the control panel) is empty, and (as I am running XP Home) I have no access to the local users and groups. Restart in safe mode and the connection via the administrator account cause the same exact symptoms.

I was not present when the problem started, but I am told that it took place after the system crashed and restarted. Start up times are extended, but do not understand the error messages.

I can't use the catering service because it does not start. The same for the Windows Installer service. The services that start are:

    Plug-and-Play
    Java Quick Starter
Event log (which has no error)
    Hello Service
    AVG Free8 Watchdog Service
    ATI Hotkey Poller
    Apple Mobile Device

Last known good Configuration boots in exactly the same way.

I found a thread online, noting that if you see this article of your registry, you can get rather more solid info on your services:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services

When looking for the RPC here service, I found that it relied on "c:\windows\system32\svchost.exe" in order to load. Of course, attempting to run manually giving access denied errors.

I rebooted in safe mode and checked the permissions (by opening the properties file and then by checking the Security tab) - group Everone has had total control, but on the re-disabling/enabling access error messages have disappeared. I rebooted normally and the RPC service was back running, as well as all the others.

Unfortunately, after restarting once more permissions whacked again and I was forced to repeat the procedure. At this time I am pretty certain that some malware is involved, but you can consider the initial problem fixed. Thanks for your time.  :)

  • the old version allowed me to save all open tabs by giving it a name, i.e. on 29 April, but I can't find it in the new version. Is there something like this? If so, I really want to come back

Tonight, for example, I have several tabs open that I would close but reopen tomorrow.

I would like to save them all as '30 April' in my favorites... the 0ld version allowed me to do, but I can't find it in the new version.

The only way I don't seem to lose these tabs open, I work with is making "Contol + delete", but I know that this should not be done all the time...

There must be a better way, but if it does not exist, I would be able to come back and work with the old version?

Some menu entries are hidden by default and only appear if you use the keyboard to open the menu.

You can see the difference if you use Alt + F or Alt + B to open the menu 'File' and 'Favorites' and compare them to what see you if you use the mouse to open the menu after completing the bar menus visible by pressing Alt, or by pressing F10.

    • "To bookmark all tabs" (Shift + Ctrl + D) is no longer present in the menu bookmarks unless you open the bookmarks menu via the keyboard (Alt + B).
    • 'Bookmark this Page' is accessible through the context menu of the browser page.
    • "To bookmark all tabs" are available through the context menu of a tab on the tab bar.

  • accidentally tried to move the contents of drive c on external hard drive

so... I thought that I could free up space by moving everything to an external hard drive.  I tried to move everything on the c:\ drive.  Oops.  He started, but then I think he moved to some files necessary for windows to run, then it stopped working.  I can't move, is back.  tried to use the back, but now access is denied to the c drive.  Anyone know what I need to do?

It MIGHT be possible, but I think that it depends on many factors, such as the security for the reader and permissions permissions different to elsewhere in the hierarchy of the folders, files or not he used any bitlocker or other protections. I couldn't honestly tell you exactly how to get started.  It might be useful to plug it into another computer, just to see if you can copy the files by taking possession of the records and yourself permission, but that may end up being a dead end too.
