Accoud messed up user

On my home computer (which runs on windows xp) my user account is empty. My files are their but my user account from desktop PC and everything is similar to how it was when I got it. My shortcuts and everythings are missing from my desk, wallpaper is the default white color blue and I can't acess my files even if they are there, and the other user accounts are quite normal. No idea what happened or how to fix this?

What you describe is the typical result of a corrupted profile.  You might be able to do normal things by doing a system restore to a point in time before that you had this problem.

If this does not work, the following procedure, you should get going again:

After recovery, it would be a good idea to do a check disk as well if caused disk corruption corrupt profile:

  • Computer name change create problems for other computers on the network

    Hello

    One of our clients have a network of about 50 PCs. Two weeks back I need to change the names of some 40 computers for inventory purposes. There was no name of PC or IP address conflict. Next day, it was a mess, many users have complained that they are unable to connect to the terminal server or cannot log on to their PC.

    Yesterday, had to change the names of the 6 PCs and had the same problem. It is not the name of PC or IP address conflict.

    I did the same process of changing names to another customer, and there is no problem at all. What could be the reason for this customer?

  • Display value instead of the key into the field with LOV?

    Sorry, that's so basic I don't know it should be easy, but somehow, I can't find it in the documentation. The LOCATION table contains a foreign key referencing the table of CLIMATE. As well as its primary key, CLIMATE has a column called NAME that contains the name of the climate (e.g., temperate, tropical, etc.). The user must be able to update the value of climate for the location, is working on that. I have a list of values that has air up the names of possible climates, the user selects the name he wants so set in the LOCATION table. It works, but the problem is that the input element shows the value of key for the record of CLIMATE, and I need to display the value of NAME instead. Of course, I have another field indicating the name, but that is a mess, the user does not include the value of the key and should not have to see. So, how can I make an entry field display NAME, updating really of the value of the key to the LOV choice?

    Hello

    ·        What are the updates that you have installed on the computer once you have met the question (number of KB updates)?

    Click on the below link to check what are the updates must be installed on the system and manually install the updates one after you download it from the Microsoft Web site. In other words instead of automatic updates, I suggest to download the updates manually from the Microsoft site and then reinstall one by one and check what update is causing this issue and let us know the number of KB.

  • I just updated Firefox and now it crashes, does not not tabs or add-ons, and the user interface is all messed up.

    I was power off update of Firefox for a while because I knew some of my modules aren't compatible yet, and the main reason I use firefox is because of the multitude of modules. Finally today I decided to go and let it install. As soon as he returns to the top, it's completely different from the way I had my firefox. The buttons are all moved around, each tab has two Xs to close with the back button does not work, there is no way to scroll more tags do not take on the screen and for some reason the firefox button is not collapse in the main beam.

    My session has not been restored, either, which really annoyed me, because I had a very high volume of open tabs. Right now I just want to come back, because I hate what happened, but I know that's not possible.

    I'm sorry to hear that you have so many questions. What version of Firefox you used before?

    The problem of double title bar has been identified as a problem with the extension of the tax Mix Plus but it does not affect everyone, there is an interaction with something else (not exactly what clear although Norton Toolbar has been mentioned in a thread).

    There is a new version available that you can try. If Firefox is stable enough to do...

    Firefox orange (or the Tools menu) button > Add ons > ' gear' icon > check updates

    If your beta version does not update, you can try to install from the Add-ons site.

    More generally, can I suggest disabling the extensions as much as you can live without for 24 hours and gradually reactivate? This should help isolate the interactions between them. As you know, you can do so here:

    Firefox orange (or the Tools menu) button > addons > Extensions category

    Finally, about your old session, if you have not closed Firefox, you could find a sessionstore.bak file in your profile folder that contains your old session. For easy access to this file, try

    Help > troubleshooting information > "view file" button.

    Grab a copy of this file and save it somewhere outside the folder because it is overwritten when you close Firefox. Had to run, but if find you one with a suitable date, a person can help you to restore.

    I recently bought a macbook model 2013 end pro on eBay and the seller gave me the password for the user "guest".

    I changed the password to a blank password that I didn't have a password but I did not create a new user account.

    last night I installed clean OS X El Capitan, when installation is complete asked me a password at the login screen.

    I managed to pass the login password, but now I am trying to create a new password in system preferences, but I can't because I'm required to use a password to allow the change.

    Guest user is the only account on my Mac, so I have no idea what to do to get out of this mess.

    Thanks in advance to anyone who can offer support.

    You wipe the drive and then do a fresh install of Mac OS X. You can do this via the network of restoration:

    Installer Lion through Mavericks

    1. Restart the computer and after the chime hold down the keys COMMAND + OPTION + R until it appears a globe. Wait patiently - 5 - 15 minutes - until appears the Utility Menu.
    2. Select in the Menu Utility disk utility and click on the continue button.
    3. Disk utility charges and select the player (usually, it's the entry Out-bumpy with of the mfgr.) ID and size) of the list to one side. Click the Partition tab in the main window of disk utility.
    4. Under the scheme of Volume defined heading the number of partitions in a single volume. Click the Options button, set the GUID partition scheme, and then click the OK button. Define the type of Format Mac OS extended (journaled). Click the Partition button and wait until the end of the process. Quit disk utility and re-enter the Utility Menu.
    5. Select reinstall OS X in the Utility Menu, and then click the install button.

    This should install it the original version of OS X comes with the computer originally.

  • Need to disable acceleration hardware and smooth scrolling for users on a Remote Desktop Session.

    Hello
    I need to disable acceleration hardware and smooth scrolling for any user that connects to an RDS Server. I messed up the mozilla.cfg and created an autoconfig.js file. I guess I'm missing something along the way.

    This is currently my autoconfig.js
    Pref ("general.config.filename", "mozilla.cfg");
    Pref ("general.config.obscure_value", 1);
    Pref ("app.update.channel", "liberation");

    Mozilla.cfg
    Smooth Scrolling disabled
    lockpref ("general.smoothScroll.disabled", true);
    disables hardware acceleration
    lockPref ("layers.acceleration.disabled", true);
    lockPref ("gfx.direct2d.disabled", true);

    All that I'm missing? When I restart the two options are always checked in the options.

    Thank you!!

    Hi b1gt3x, you use a clear cfg file, you'll want to put this in your instead of autoconfig.js:

    pref("general.config.obscure_value", 0);
    pref("general.config.filename", "mozilla.cfg");

    In addition, you will have to make lockPref with a capital P in any case - that it reacts very sensitive to spelling errors...

  • You please bring friendlieness user of Firefox 3?

    I can't use chrome and... expired my Firefox, Firefox 4 has been great but I think 3 was better. I remember all the hype surrounding its release, and it was amazing. I wish I had this back is because I do not see too well the screen and I am not computer savvy. This 29 Firefox is just like the chrome too tiny and relies on people who can navigate a bunch of small icons. He lost his complex simplicity. I tried the classic ad - on, however, to my dismay, it did not; He kept removing my URL. Please consider my proposal, I know you all have to apply to the young generation that can find the main menu in this mess of chrome-ism. But some of us have been with the web browser Mozilla before that Firefox has been a gleam in the eye of the developer. If nothing else, can I have a link to download old Firefox 3? Thank you for your time.

  • Firefox 29 screws - Please consider USERS how to solve this problem?

    I get often tired of firefox, the only reason why I stay with her is because of the 3rd party plugins, but it's a little too far.

    So, I am seriously upset with Mozilla Firefox, not only because of the new design, but the total lack of respect for your users.

    I received a message saying that there is an important security update, he NOT warned me that he intended to install a completely redesigned application.

    Have you heard guys control change management?

    I'm in the workplace and I spend 15 hours a day online, now I understand this TERRIBLE UI.

    I guess that's what you get when you have a bunch of amateurs, software development.

    So what - this, don't not a single person in Mozilla understand NOT to tell users that upgrade includes a serious change in the interface user or worse yet you know and think FFF.orget them we just do and tell them that this is a security update.

    Rather that create this terrible user interface you should have focused on the biggest problem with Firefox MEMORY and CPU usage with the ability of users to understand which tab is the use of memory or CPU,

    If I wanted a clone of Google Chrome, I would like to have installed Google Chrome, but I hate the interface of Chrome. Do you not know that Google is the worst airline in the world to design a user interface, their email is rubbish, the new adwords Keyword Planner should be used in schools and colleges as a "How NOT to design software"

    What makes me shit off the coast, is that you have the arrogance to think that you can just bulldozer on your user base. If I were local I'll come to your office asking that spark was responsible for this and their fist in the face.

    I've seen others ask how to do step back and once again in your ignorance make you pathetic excuses and lock the question, as you did with the guy here:

    https://support.Mozilla.org/en-us/questions/997424

    Well, if you do this with me, I will raise it on all the blogs related to Firefox. I wonder if there is any interest to create a fork in development?

    I don't want to install an older version, I have invested a lot in my UI of Firefox which was completely ruined by this update. In addition to this I can not move the address bar and put it next to the menu and I can not move the tabs below the menus and toolbars.

    You also messed up my colored tabs that I need because of eye problems.

    ITS POST OFFICE do not DICTATE how I layout my screen!

    To call you complete F'ing stupid do not!

    Now if I restore, I'll face nagware and risks to security.

    In the future can you please respect your users as follows:

    1. don't install user interface changes without notifying the user and giving them a choice
    2. ALWAYS include a feature to stay with the old user interface
    3 allow users to stay with the old interface user and still get REAL security updates.

    I am so angry with you right now!

    The Firefox team defensive comments are missing the point of my OP. Here are the highlights

    Total lack of respect for your users.

    Ride a new version, but calling a security update, they are two different things.

    He NOT warned me that he intended to install a completely redesigned application.

    Have you heard guys control change management?

    Change of control does not mean that test you it on a bunch of sycophants FF, it means that you give end users the ability to switch to the changes and to roll back.

    I have been involved in deployments huge MS Office (100 k + users) when the tape came, it was so radically different that we had to implement a training program, it's the same thing.

    You must understand and accept what makes Firefox is the customization, so don't MESS WITH IT. If you can't find a way to implement it without screwing customization of the people, and then abandon your changes. You really should be able to offer users a chance to try small changes and restore if they don't like it. It should be a requirement for any changes to the user interface. Oh and I mean SIMPLE back roll 'try and no thank you', not a hidden code buried on a topic page or hidden on the web.

    I think that the important question that you should focus on performance and the ability to see which tab is the use of resources or a leak memory, I would like to see an option to display the memory/cpu tab instead of the title, you might even get the tab go red.

    You must be able to isolate and stop these tabs, I don't think you should have multiple instances that Google Chrome because they relate to the tabs or help in any way to stop a bad performance page.

    I think whenever you get an inclination to copy Google Chrome you slap yourself around the face and if this did not help you should have your cock to slap you team (think film plane). In fact, I think that Mozilla developers should be slapping for ideas stupid or improperly applied.

    I hope that you can learn that it is unacceptable to bulldozer on your user base.

    Now, it would be wrong not to mention the best way to copy with this screw upwards, first of all, I had to install colorful tabs, this gave me the back legs square and stopped the terrible waste of screen real estate.

    I then used the drastically (bastard) Customize option to move icons from the top next to the menu bar, they are very small and it would be good to have an option to increase the size.

    I have the address bar under the tabs taking up most of the width of the screen with an icon to the right of it. I still don't like the back and updating and the forced to their locations and would like to be able to drag and drop them where I want (including where I have other icons).

    I would like to be able to put the address bar where I want, including on the menu bar.

    I also like the ability to change the spacing in toolbars, I have quite a thick on the Bookmarks feature and too much space above them, throughout this waste screen estate.

    In the future can you please respect your users as follows:

    The performance of the browser has improved, it is more agile but memory management is always a problem.

    She seems to have a higher capacity before it crashes (of 1.6 GB in the old version to 2.4 GB in the new version), but it seems to use more memory, so I'm not really able to do more. I have 8 GB of ram so I'd like ot see it is able to use 3 to 4 GB if it is available.

    This version fall down more often, it seems that some Web pages a leak memory, and it gets to a point where is fair shots. What he does is best to recover the memory when you close tabs, it's not perfect but an improvement nonetheless.

    I'm still seriously upset with the way this has been implemented and all the questions that I have raised in my booth always OP. What I want from the Dev team is NO more excuses, but a commitment not to do that again and just put the implementation of the UI with making changes back options for users.

  • New firefox user interface is just ugly

    I want to say that I am a very loyal user and have been using Firefox for beta versions. And this is my first post of this nature.

    We've been through a lot, a lot of redesigns, updates etc. I really grew to rely on firefox as tool and instrument. And since that time those updates were logical and had a direction. But today I've upgraded to 29, and I've just couldn't believed my eyes to see how unpractical and uncomfortable everything is now. You've taken the small things that I've accustomed to, you took freedom to manipulate browser in any way I, not YOU, but ME, want to use MY browser. YOU want whole new look is fine with me, make it choseable, don't force it, if it's good migration will follow, but now it's definitely a mess and for first time in 10 years firefox I will be considering firefox as my second-choice browser until (if ever) that mess cleans up.

    Amen corsR. This new change struck me today too and it is really terrible.

    Fortunately, there is an add-on that restores at least a semblance of decent what FF28- https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/classicthemerestorer/

    It is not as good as the original, but it's a hell of a lot better than the current design, by a wide margin.

  • Firefox Mobile even supports the user styles?

    Hello
    I am trying to find a solution for this.
    I want to create a style of the user to a Web site because it looks like a mess on mobile browsers. I already did on my desktop browser and then downloaded on userstyles.org.

    Now, I tried to install Stylish on my mobile Firefox (10.0.5 and the new Firefox Beta 14.0b6 I think). Even if it already doesn't work perfectly (probably not supported, but I thought mobile and Office FF begin to merge?), I managed to install somehow. Now still impossible to install a userstyle because it does not detect the addon (I changed the user agent to something desktop-ish). I also tried with a greasemonkey script, but I'm also stuck there.

    .. Help?
