  ·         Remember to make changes to the system?

  ·         Have you defined a plan of power on laptop?

  I recommend you perform the clean boot.

  Put your boot system helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem. If so, you need to maybe contact the manufacturer of the program for updates or uninstall and reinstall the program.

  No - what are the two Acers come with a recovery disk?

  If this is not the case, one of them would have a recovery partion, which specifically is to reinstall the operating system on it.

  With an Acer, you press Alt + F10 at startup to start the recovery process.

  All data are lost when you do the above.

  And for the lost disc, contact Acer and ask them to send you recovery disks.

  They do that for a small fee:

  Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

  If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

  You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

  Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

  And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

I am in crisis mode because I recently became sick and my photos and documents is vital for my next year of chemotherapy and radiation. Please advice are extremely appreciated. Thank you

  This backup after pressing F11 is a HP backup option, not a Microsoft option.

  I suggest that you contact HP or ask their Support Forums.

  It's the normal advice I'd give to record data; but we have no idea of the State of your hard drive.

  Saving your files:

  You can remove the hard drive and put it in a hard drive USB enclosure > plug it into another computer > and try to read and copy your data in this way.

  Or, you can download Knoppix > make a bootdisk to > start your system with it (IF your material is all work) > and copy your data from the hard drive like that.

  With most HP laptops the first thing that do is to unplug power removed battery and push and hold the power button for 15 to 30 seconds to reset the machine.

  After you have done that reset for the power back in and try again, sometimes get you lucky.

  Hello, I'm new here... In any case my Acer Aspire E 15 won't start. All I get is a small box blue message which said: lack of default boot device or startup failed. Insert the recovery media and press a key. Then select "Boot Manager" to select a new device boot or Boot Recovery Media. " So I press on enter a couple of times just to go back to the same blue message dialog box. I tried to go and wait five seconds to launch a kind of recovery, but it did not work. Then I activated the f12 boot sequence, and this alteration has nothing. My laptop did not come with a CD/DVD player, when my father bought new last Christmas. I uninstalled Microsoft Office Spotify and Amazon the last time that I logged online. The 64-bit Windows 8.1 is built in. Maybe that remove some files. IDK. What should I do?   My roommates son asked me to help him to be on the internet, which I did, ran unusually slow in doing so, I noticed it when I checked, I found that the notebook had three solutions of different software protection, antivirus, Norton, McAffrey and AVG 2011 version for free. Also I noticed he had some solutions that provided a diagnosis, list of problems found and wanted to pay for the product before they would allow acccess to the fix. I uninstalled Norton and the McAffrey and improved the AVG free version of 2012. I also uninstalled the pesky diagnosis/buy me for the correction and the ask.com toolbar software. I installed ccleaner from piriform as well. The laptop seems to run a little faster, but the next morning he projected blue and when I tried to start it in safe mode it not loaded so far and then frozen, always in the same spot something AVGi and then it crashes, it will not load the rest of the necessary drivers. I tried to boot to the last known good as well. I even tried to downgrade to Windows xp home edition sp3 and when I do it it says there is no hard drive detected, and do I have to make sure that it works correctly.  I am at a loss, my sons friends bought the laptop (Acer Aspire 5315) for $50.00 and did not get a recovery disk so that the option does not exist or the other. What can I do to solve this problem. I'm sure that for some reason, it has to do with the BIOS and I went to the Acer site (from my laptop) and downloaded something to repair the bios on a flash drive, but me is not good because I can not start on either flash player. I am at a loss here and have no idea how to solve this problem. I am practically self-taught and I am a beginner when it comes to repairing the problems. This one is right behind me, someone has an idea what is my problem?

  If you tried to install Windows XP, and it says that? Do you have any installation CD? I don't want to say this, but maybe the hard drive went kaput.   Hi all hope you can help - I have an acer aspire 5742 running windows 7. the problem is that it doesn't start not until after bios acer launched toward the top of page and just continuously loop around. F2 and F12 keys available no. function F8 or F10. tried to re-don't boot from the recovery disk no joy. Startup disk in the bios change still no joy. Cannot make a secure boot or system reset as unavailable F8 and F10 keys.

  Hi - I've worked with thanks to you all, I'll wish to explain how to fix at the base.

  1 - Download partition manager free 2014. http://www.Paragon-Software.com/home/pm-express/

  2. run the partition manager and select go delet.

  3 - Select the partition that has 100 MB space and delete

  4. then select the larger partition and delete.

  5 - turn off the power to the laptop

  6 - Turn on the laptop

  7. when the acer page appears, press ALT + F10 ONLY once.

  8. then I chose to install full. higher setting.

  Bingo it completed the complete installation without blocking upward on the desktop.

  This has been mentioned somewhere else where but should be simplified.

  A few weeks ago, my laptop Acer Aspire R14 went totally blank. When I unplugged the power cord, it started right to the top, but at the moment where I plugged the power cord back inside would be closed. The battery dies quickly in this way, because it would not charge. I removed the battery then it started upward with the power cord. I thought it must be the battery, so I installed a new battery. which is not to change the problem.

  So, I ordered a new motherboard and after a few weeks, I received it today, installed, and I have always the same thing. It works well with the power cord plugged in until the battery is disconnected. But at the time wherever I connect the battery, everything stops, not to be revived unless I disconnect the battery.

  I need help! What could be the problem?
